They have a nice tea selection. I really wanted to try the white ginger tea but they were out :( I had the green peach tea and my friend got the Apple spice (black) tea? I can't recall now. Both iced. They put some simple syrup in mine. They were pretty decent... Apple was very apparent. Mine was very light and fresh tasting. My big problem though was they totally forgot to finish making the teas. They warned that iced teas would take about 5 minutes, but we ended up waiting there for over 15 minutes! I finally went up and asked, and the girl had forgotten about the teas and left them steeping. That kinda sucked because they were oversteeped by like 10 minutes. The guy just casually said "yeah she forgot" and I don't remember if he even apologized. Had that not happened and we got our teas within 5 minutes I would've given it another star. My favorite cafe to go to. They have several tables and you can book a set in advance if you have a planned group meeting of some sort. It can get pretty busy during the afternoon and at that point it's difficult to find a place to sit at. Perfect to study at and their music choice is great. The chai tea latte is the best that i've tried so far. If you aren't into coffee, or are just attempting to try something new, this is a good option. The gelato is great as well, i've only tried a few flavors but all that i've had have been pleasant. Parking is easy to find as well. If you can't find a spot in front of the cafe, there are plenty of spots in the back, it's almost impossible to not find somewhere to park. Overall, only complaint would be that at some times its difficult to find somewhere to sit down at, but that's uncontrollable on their side & it just shows how great their business is! read more

Good coffee, but be careful to watch them pull the espresso shots... They like to reuse the espresso grounds two to threes times and that just makes weaker and more bitter espresso. Also, it means you are paying for shoddy espresso. I'm a barista of 10 years, and I totally called them on it. If I am going to pay for coffee, I want it to be excellent. What's not to love about Spotted Cow?? This place is by far my favorite spot to come study/relax/hang out! I honestly would prefer Spotted Cow over Starbucks any day! Less crowded, same quality coffee, and delicious gelato, what more could you want! The vibe here is a mixed of indie/hipster with rustic wood tables and live music if you check their event schedule. I've been here a couple of times when they have live acts, and I really enjoyed it. Also, everyone here is respectful and mindful of their surrounding, which I really ppreciate when trying to study! I usually get a macchiato and some gelato while studying, and I can honestly say that they rival Starbucks! It can get crowded around peak times and midterms/finals times, but if you're looking for a low-key spot to study, I would totally recommend Spotted Cow! read more

I would honestly be giving this place a 1 star if it wasn't for the pleasant atmosphere. I was really hoping to love this place since it is close to home and a has a great ambiance for students or people who work remotely. Everyone inside seemed so relaxed while working on their computers. The volume was at a respectful level too. Here's my issue...the coffee! At any new coffee place I like to try their espresso straight before I start to dable in any drink that are mixed with sweeteners or creams. Their espresso was so sour and bitter not even a side of their gelato could help it. Really sad to say I wouldn't recommend going if you truly enjoy espresso. read more

This is where I consistently buy my coffee beans for my espresso machine because of freshness. They are always roasted within a couple days or weeks of when I purchase and taste good. Not always a lot of selection sadly for beans, maybe 2 or 3 its a stocked day. Im hot and cold with this business because some aspects are great and some are not, like how the check out line always takes SO long for just one or two people ahead. I honestly just walked out because it was taking so long. Not sure why this is, everything else about this place deserves five stars, but how slow it is to check out and also get a drink is unbearable. Love the coffee and the employees are super friendly and great. Do get a bit frustrated when they are constantly out of their house made syrups. I come in specifically for the vanilla bourbon and they are out at least once a week if not more. I've been here plenty of times to study/hangout and finally have a down to earth review... Spotted Cow; Great Gelato and Coffee, what more is there? Indeed, the workers are very nice and friendly alongside their hipster ambience which is hard to find North of Seattle in all honesty. However... - Seating is very limited, came in multiple times around the evening and had a hard time finding a seat - Parking around the area is also limited with it's shared parking lot with the LA Fitness next door - Their wifi is limited as well, meaning that your maximum allotted WiFi time is 2 hours with a purchase. If you're looking to grind out a heavy study session, I suggest studying elsewhere. - The cafe is pretty chilly, had to wear extra layers coming in! - Their coffee is good don't get me wrong, but it has a very distinct roast to it. I live in Mill Creek and unfortunately Spotted Cow is the only place in town that serves decent coffee. But this place is ssssoooooo slow. They must never be adequately staffed because it takes FOREVER to get the most simple order. If you order one drink expect to wait 10 minutes. If you order multiple drinks expect to wait 15 minutes at best. I'm giving them 2 stars because their coffee is decent but only go if you have an hour to wait around for them. read more

While their products are good, their service is so so. What I pre-order stuff, it tends to be ready on time only 40-50% of the time, mostly because my order got missed. I get an attitude from a handful of the baristas when checking on the status (I realize that there are staffing shortages everywhere due to the pandemic, but I alway make sure approach/treat the staff nicely). There are 1-2 staff members who are genuinely friendly and always greets me when I walk in and immediately lets me know the statue of my order or grabs my order fromthe counter and hands it to me (I think they recognize me from the picture on the app from where I order my stuff from in advance). read more

I love their gelato, it's very flavorful and creamy. It's nice and relaxing to come here during the summer, they also have outdoor seating to eat your gelato. This is an adorable and well-decorated coffee shop with a darn good PSL (pumpkin spice latte). I came in around 9pm (an hour before close) and was a little bummed that I didn't get the latte art I see in these photos! Although dining in, the barista put my coffee in a to- go cup...but there's always next time! Service was sufficient and the chairs and couches are soon cozy. It's way more intimate than a starbucks. The coffee itself was actually quite delicious. It had a nice nutty flavor and didn't have an acidic/bitter aftertaste. The interior felt wide open and had that industrial look that all the cool kids like these days. I was just there for what I planned to be a brief second so that's all I can say about the "ambiance" of the place. My problem with them was the speed (or lack thereof) of service. There were 2 people ahead of me in the line. Both already knew what they wanted and both didn't have anthology-like requests for their drinks. I think one ordered a latte and another ordered an iced latte. It took me more than 20 minutes (I checked a text I sent around when I entered the establishment as my time reference by the time I left the place) to get my drink which was a cappuccino. Because they were actually awfully nice, I tried my best to not be a jerk. In my efforts to not look like one, by the time I got my drink I looked positively constipated trying to unfurl every part of my face that was turning into a deep, deep scowl. If I had seen a coffee harvester with a wheel barrow of coffee cherries to still be processed into the drink I had, I might have forgiven the wait. But alas I did not. Yes I know I sound like an awfully cranky 'Murrcan who has no appreciation for a leisurely life but until the Seattle Metro area starts mandating that we all take siestas and take 2 hour long lunches, I do not have 20+ minutes to wait for a cup of coffee at 1 pm no less with only a couple other people in line with me. read more

AWFUL Wi-Fi policy!! We used to love the Spotted Cow and have been coming fairly frequently for the past few months to work/ study. We always purchase drinks- multiple if we're there for more than a couple hours and occasionally food (would more often but they have limited vegetarian options and no vegan options for me). The staff is hit or miss- some are darling people, some are hipsters who are too cool, but usually it's a great experience. Their coffee is good, the space is really cute and comfortable- lots of comfy chairs and tables/ chairs. But, they just changed their Wi-Fi policy and it is without a doubt the most ridiculous I have ever encountered from a business. Going beyond the normal password with purchase common at most coffee houses, you now have to enter your email address to receive 2 hours, or you can enter a code that you get with purchase that you have to ask for and they will only give you one code per transaction, even if multiple drinks are ordered. None of this is noted anywhere to see prior to purchase. Even though my husband and I each ordered a drink, they would only give us one code (only valid for 120 min), so you need to have each drink on a separate check if you need more than one code, or if you are willing to give them and their Wi-Fi portal provider your email... You also have the option of purchasing additional time for multiple devices. Needless to say, we will not be returning unless they change their policy. I came in for a scoop of gelato. They don't have a huge selection but have all of the common gelateria flavors such as stracciatella, hazelnut, cappuccino, pistachio. They also have sorbet like gelato flavors such as lemon and bluberry. All those flavors are fine but the one that stands out the most is definitely their Honey Lavender flavor. It is so fragrant and after each bite, your breath feels re-freshened for a while. This place has a great cafe feel to it - with great big glass walls to watch passerby/surroundings or to simply enjoy the sun. People with laptops, a group hangout, family, or couples can be found here. It has plenty of seating with wooden tables. And the person behind the counter was nice and friendly. This is the newest location for this wonderful Java house company. Located in the Mill Creek Town Center, come by and check them out. While they do offer a limited selection of finer bottled ales and they do sell bottled wine, I'm not sure if you'd consider this an ale-house or wine tasting room. Top it off with roasting their own coffee beans and hand-made ice cream, sorbet, and gelatos, who could ask for anything more!! Okay Michelle, aka the Yelp Goddess, would... you better check them out M~, they have free Wi-fi!! They also have a live entertainment schedule, it looks like each location has their own offerings and sadly their website hasn't caught up with the number of actual locations they have under their belt or scheduling of entertainment. Oh, gads how could I forget the handcrafted ice cream, gelato, and sorbet made at the store!! They offer about 20 favors, the owner actually studied and learned his craft and believe me it shows!! I am actually sitting in the Spotted Cow as I write this. Is that allowed? A lot of customers at work talk up the Spotted Cow, so since I had some time to kill after arriving to work too early, I decided to check it out. First, the place is unique for Mill Creek. However, living in Seattle, it's really nothing special which is why it gets three stars. The decor is very kitsch...cow spots on the wall, sea foam green accent walls with large sayings like, "Stray from the herd." (otherwise, good advice.), things like that. Kind of reminds me of a craft store or a daycare or something. Speaking of a daycare, it is kid friendly, which I guess is what makes it unique. Because you have a choice of which coffee shop you chose to buy your coffee from, I don't have a problem with this. I probably wouldn't come here to study, but it's kind of cute that it's kid friendly. I had a turkey cranberry sandwich, which I could have made at home. And they served it with a crappy bag of chips. I guess it is to be expected, but I wouldn't suggest coming here for something to eat..there are too many other good places in the Town Center. There is however, a really large selection of ice cream and gelato for the folks who are into that stuff. I hear good things, but I didn't have any. Barista was friendly. Trying to find good quality coffee north of Seattle can be difficult at times. The Spotted Cow is really making an effort to change this. If you are a coffee connoisseur and are looking for quality fresh coffee then you need to check this place out. Not too many places will serve you coffee from an Aero Press, Chemex, V60 let alone give you a little education on the beans and how they prepare a good cup a coffee. Started coming here with the study buddies after our usual place closed too early for our liking and hiked up their prices. The good thing about this place is that they have a great menu. A lot bigger than any other study spot nearby. They have good coffee, EXCELLENT gelato, decent sandwiches and even carry beer and wine. The atmosphere is typically very chatty -- as expected because it's set up to be a casual, loungey atmosphere. The cons is that it can sometimes get really loud. I can't complain about this too much because it's not a library, but there are often really large groups of families or the volume of the music is blasting, which might even annoy me if I was having a one-on-one conversation with someone. Parking at mill creek town center can be a pain, but it's not dreadful. Another thing is some of the baristas are friendlier than others. I understand this place gets really busy and there is usually only one person manning the huge counter, scooping gelato, making coffee, toasting up bagels...but at least acknowledge the person standing there waiting to order instead of just looking up and then back at whatever you're doing. I will continue to come here because you really can't beat the study space, tasty menu items, and location. read more

Wow! I don't think I've ever been this impressed with a coffee shop. For many reasons, this place blew me away. Service: I didn't have to wait in line very long and the cashier was genuine, well-mannered and friendly. Unlike most other coffee-shop employees, she didn't make me feel ashamed for not knowing how to order my drink in a regular cup instead of a to-go cup. Ambience: comfy leather chairs, easy access entrances and varying table sizes; every walk of life could be absolutely comfortable coming here. The GOODS: I ordered an espresso and it was very refreshing to see that it came with seltzer water and a spoon. Not many places (unless you ask) offer this automatically. I don't drink coffee or lattes or anything with too much sugar, just espresso, and their's was wonderfully tame and tasted great. ALSO, I ordered the new tea: Bombay Chai and it was so tasty even without any kind of sweetner. Price: for a grande tea and espresso I paid under $5 and tipped $3 just because of the excellent service I recieved. Location: very easy to get to and plenty of parking. Coming home for the holidays, I usually go by the old stomping grounds. First stop Mays Pond to see the skateboarding pot dealer kids, next the 13th hole to watch kids wreck the green with snowboards and sleds, and finally I usually end with a drive around Evergreen to scope out who's decorations I was going to switch around in the middle of the night (I was a lonely an eccentric transfer student). But now it's all glitz and glam with the new town center. Shit feels fake. LA fitness? Bikram Yoga? A faux sawmill breakfast joint? But I must admit, it's sort of "nice fake" I enjoy in orange county or at a nice massage place. I hate to see the creek change but boy do I looove hot yoga. Unlike the fake plasticity of the new town center, the spotted cow somehow manages to escape the faux-luxe vibe. Instead it does the opposite and completely captures the Mill Creek vibe. The only pretentious thing here are the greeting cards and the gelatto (but only by it's italian heritage, it truly is delicious). There's lots of sitting room and a great space for those who want to chat by a fire or a student looking for a comforable table to study at. The coffee is great. Similar to coffee bean and not "char"-buxy. They also carry a decent wine and beer selection. Deschuttes ftw! They're cranberry ice cream not so yummy, but the smoking hot Barista NOM!
