gelatiamo was a cozy hideaway spot from the crazy seattle wind and rain (someone had to be by the door to let people in and out). overall very vibey with a few tables to sit at! staff were friendly as well. for the smallest size, you can get two scoops of any flavor! the berries and cream flavor reminded me of the plain tart frozen yogurt flavor (but much creamier and a bit sweeter from the berries). the strawberry sorbet was also very good! you can taste the strawberries for sure. eggnog was an interesting flavor! i've never had actual eggnog before so i don't have a good comparison point but it was good and not overwhelming in any flavor profile. cookies and cream was good too :) read more

When you do walk in here, you feel like you're in a fine-dining like area with dim lights yet it also has the feel of a cafe where you can sit and relax with whatever you get. Since one of my friends knew I haven't been here before for desserts, he decided to take me and out other friends here to try their gelato for the first time. I got a scoop of their marionberry swirl and had a taste of my bestie's salted caramel gelato. I've taken cakes home from here, but never posted an evaluation. Those cakes factored into this rating. The ice cream is creamy and a split scoop (two types) is still a very generous portion. I was able to try a few before settling on my selection. Pistachio tasted exactly as it should, and the rice pudding ice cream was an unusual treat. Coffee was made perfectly. The raspberry cake was okay - a little sweet and a tad dry. Whipped cream would enhance the flavor and texture, so I was glad I ordered ice cream. On other occasions, I 've had their mille feuille cake which is phenomenal. Even picked up a whole one for Mother's Day. This brings the overall rating uo to a 4. Wow. The moment I tasted the gelato here, I was impressed. Silky, smooth, flavorful. I sampled the rice pudding, crème brûlée, pistachio, and salted caramel and ultimately chose the rice pudding and pistachio for the 2 flavors for the regular cup. Regular cup was $5.95+tax and looks tiny but it is a very satisfying dessert. I'd say this is one of the best gelato spots I've tried so far. The pistachio has chunks of pistachio and is the real deal since it's a beige not green color. The rice pudding is subtly creamy and the rice is perfectly cooked - more chewy than soft to get an appetizing combination. This spot is located conveniently in downtown along bus lines and close to Pike Place for those visiting the more tourist spots, so it is convenient to check it out and enjoy high quality gelato! read more

I went to Gelatiamo with my friends yesterday. Staff told us that the mini cup comes with two flavors and the large cup three flavors. I chose the mini cup with orange cream flavor and rice (pudding) flavor. I usually don't get rice pudding but the staff told me it's the most popular so I wanted to find out how it tastes. The flavors were both good and I'm glad I got something citrusy and something creamy. It was a good size for one person too. The first responders were right outside the shop, seemingly trying to save someone on the ground, so the vibe was bleak. Good (but not great) gelateria at the corner of 3rd Avenue and Union street. Ambience inside was nice, with a clean industrial look and high ceilings. Service was prompt but transactional - not a single smile was bestowed upon us. Prices were reasonable, and my hazelnut gelato was good (but not great). The kids ordered without asking for samples because it didn't appear they offered any - neither of them finished their gelatos! They got my wife's order wrong but she didn't feel like complaining as the server looked unapproachable. I immediately went into search mode to see what might go well together. I got a scoop each of mango, yogurt with berries and chocolate chip. I'm not much of a gelato expert but WOW did those three compliment each other nicely. It was an amazing way to get out of the heat (air-conditioning in the store) and enjoy a cool treat. I've been meaning to come here but every time I forget that they close quite early. This time however, I managed to make it before closing hour, and there was still quite a long line inside. Upon reading the reviews I knew I had to try the rice gelato since it was so unique, and I also had to get my favorite classic flavor, pistachio. I was able to choose 2 flavors in a single scoop which was nice, and the portion size was definitely generous. The texture and flavor of the gelato was absolutely spot on! Super creamy, smooth, and pure tasting. I loved the nuttiness of the pistachio and how there were little bits of the nut inside. The rice flavor was quite unique and unlike anything I've really had before, and even had small chewy grains of rice inside. So rich and creamy that I couldn't really finish it all, but a great try! I would definitely be here more often if they didn't close so late, but I'd highly recommend trying this spot for some delicious gelato! read more

I especially love their chocolate flavor. It is really good, creamy, and has great Gelato texture. It is a very small establishment, so seating is limited. Make sure you are prepared for that. During the summer tourist months, it is very busy and there can often be a line out of the door. The employees have always been nice to me, and I have no complaints.
