One of the yummiest gelato spots I've had! I LOVED the rice gelato! It was so perfectly refreshing and creamy with small bits of rice inside.

This place was so tasty! I got a regular which comes with two flavors with rice and creme brulee as my scoops. The gelato was creamy and perfectly flavored. I thought the portion size was generous for the price. I intended to save some in the freezer for later, but it was just so good!

If you're looking for creamy gelato, daring flavors, and an overall phenomenal experience, Gelatiamo is the place for you. As the name suggests, Gelatiamo serves authentic Italian gelato, providing a perfect break for guests exploring the nearby Pike Place. I actually went here twice because it was so good, and I only got the gelato, but they also offer coffee, cakes, and other goods. I would certainly recommend the usual, safe flavors like the coconut and the mango. However, where Gelatiamo really shines is in its experiential selection. Namely, the fine matcha tastes freshly ground, slightly bitter, slightly sweet, as true matcha aficionados would appreciate. Definitely worth a try. The rice-flavored gelato was a pleasant surprise for me. I've had my fair share of rice in various forms but I've never had it in gelato. I was expecting something bland, boring, and disappointing, but it was instead light, creamy, and with a slightly sweet turn at the end. Overall, Gelatiamo is the perfect sweet treat for anyone in the area and totally worth the visit!

Gelatiamo is a great stop if you're in the mood for gelato. I got the cappuccino gelato and really enjoyed it. The coffee flavor was rich without being overly sweet, and the texture was super smooth. The employee helping us was very friendly, she answered our questions and let us sample some flavors. There's a nice cozy vibe inside with a decent amount of seating, and the pastry case looked great as well. I'd definitely come back to try more, especially if I'm nearby.

What a great spot to drop into before checking out a concert at Benarpya Hall across the street. It's small and can get crowded but they have a nice selection of gelato and make a wonderful caffe con panna -- feels like the whipped cream was homemade. It's not always easy to find a good hot chocolate but my child finished theirs happily so we give a big thumbs up. Service was friendly, ambience a bit crowded before the show.

Located in downtown Seattle, Gelatiamo is the perfect place for a treat on a sunny summer day. I got the hazelnut gelato and it was so good, and even has actual hazelnuts mixed in! Staff were welcoming and friendly. Looking forward to stopping by again when I'm in the neighborhood.

Great place. Too bad I couldn't flavor enjoy the experience. Not because of the establishment. It was cold and quite rain y at that moment and had to leave soon so I was trying to eat it quick. That said it was delicious! And the service by the workers was outstanding and very friendly

Pistachio and rice pudding - IG @bougiefoodieboi
    Kyle W.

Wow. The moment I tasted the gelato here, I was impressed. Silky, smooth, flavorful. I sampled the rice pudding, crème brûlée, pistachio, and salted caramel and ultimately chose the rice pudding and pistachio for the 2 flavors for the regular cup. Regular cup was $5.95+tax and looks tiny but it is a very satisfying dessert. I'd say this is one of the best gelato spots I've tried so far. The pistachio has chunks of pistachio and is the real deal since it's a beige not green color. The rice pudding is subtly creamy and the rice is perfectly cooked - more chewy than soft to get an appetizing combination. This spot is located conveniently in downtown along bus lines and close to Pike Place for those visiting the more tourist spots, so it is convenient to check it out and enjoy high quality gelato!

So very happy finding this delicious business. I was hankering for ice cream and this was so much better. Loved that there were bakery items we took home with us. The business has limited seating inside this corner business. You can get cones or cups and I chose 3 scoops. This was truly a delicious experience. Service was fast once we got to the counter. The line is a minor inconvenience when you taste how fantastic the gelato is. What a treat for those that are local.

Good (but not great) gelateria at the corner of 3rd Avenue and Union street. Ambience inside was nice, with a clean industrial look and high ceilings. Service was prompt but transactional - not a single smile was bestowed upon us. Prices were reasonable, and my hazelnut gelato was good (but not great). The kids ordered without asking for samples because it didn't appear they offered any - neither of them finished their gelatos! They got my wife's order wrong but she didn't feel like complaining as the server looked unapproachable. Finally, there were some aggressive panhandlers hanging around outside and we didn't feel comfortable sitting outdoors. Won't be coming back anytime soon.

I stopped by to grab a gelato and was impressed with the flavor options. I liked the yogurt and berries, red velvet, and green tea matcha flavors. They even have a rice flavor! The tables were small, but good enough for 2-3 people to gather for a sugar rush.

As a fan of their regular greek yogurt (and frozen desserts in general), I knew I had to give them a try! At 3:30pm, the line was already out the door and about 50 people long (by 5:30pm, the line was closer to 70 people long). It took my group about 20 minutes to get through the line. The inside is relatively small and tight. There is no indoor seating (which is a bummer if you come on a cold or rainy day) but there are some outdoor tables with umbrellas lined along the sidewalk shared among businesses. Hellenika makes their yogurt every 20 minutes and so you know it's fresh as they pour the mixture into the rotating churn machines in front of you. They have eight rotating flavors on a seasonal basis and you can order a kid's size (i.e. "Walkaround") for $6.95, medium for $9.15, large for $13.35, and flight (the equivalent of 8 kid's scoops) for $26.25 plus tax. If you want a split scoop, they charge $0.85. My partner and I split a FLIGHT so that we could try all eight flavors. The flavors they currently have (as of May 2026) are LONDON FOG, LEMON CURD, UBE COCONUT, BLACK SESAME WITH MOCHI, DUTCH CHOCOLATE, APPLE PIE USA, AUSTRALIA TIM TAM SLAM, and BISCOFF. Although the kid's size cups look small, they pack the scoops and so the flight was honestly more than we had anticipated and could've easily fed 4 people instead of 2 (it's no wonder they gave us seven spoons). - LONDON FOG - this flavor was decent and tasted more like lemon lavender than an actual london fog. My second favorite of the flight. - LEMON CURD - this was the best flavor of the bunch as the tart curd went well with the tart yogurt/gelato. Reminded me of the Ellenos lemon curd yogurt cups! - UBE COCONUT - I was a little perplexed by this flavor. While the coconut flavor was strong, the tartness from the gelato overpowered the sweetness of the ube. I did appreciate the coconut flakes mixed in though. - BLACK SESAME WITH MOCHI - As a black sesame and mochi fan, I was very much looking forward to this flavor after seeing it featured multiple times in my Instagram feed. However, this flavor unfortunately was the bottom of the list for me. The mochi had a hard texture and similar to the ube, the tartness just overpowered any sweetness. - DUTCH CHOCOLATE - the chocolate shown through in this one, but again, had a slight sour aftertaste from the yogurt which I didn't like. I thought this one would be sweeter, given that it's chocolate, but was not so. - APPLE PIE USA - this flavor worked because the apples were slightly tart to begin with. The cinnamon also mellowed out the tartness of the yogurt and so this one was maybe my third favorite. - AUSTRALIA TIM TAM SLAM - I didn't know what a Tim Tam was, but apparently it's a chocolate covered wafer. This one actually tasted less like chocolate, and more like coffee/mocha as there were definitely some bitter notes mixed in. It tasted like overnight tiramisu oats without the sweetener. - BISCOFF - this one was probably the sweetest of the bunch and like the Apple Pie, had good cinnamon flavor that hid the tartness. I'm not a huge Biscoff fan to begin with, but I liked the crunch of the Biscoff cookies mixed in. While the service (once you get to the front of the line) was great and the scoop sizes were huge, I was unfortunately left underwhelmed by the gelato overall. I had high expectations, but my foodie friend and I agreed that it just missed the mark for us. While the texture was nice and creamy, I think I actually prefer my treats a little sweeter and with less tang (and that's coming from someone who used to like Red Mango's tart frozen yogurt and who orders 30% sweetness on drinks). With that said, I think I'll be sticking to Shugs, Molly Moons, or Salt & Straw instead next time I'm at Pikes Place.

As you can see from my review years ago, when my hubs and I came back from a trip to Italy, we wanted to find a gelato shop that had the same quality as the shops in Rome. Not all the gelato and sorbetto we had in Italy was good, some flavors tasted artificial, and during our time there, we learned how to tell the good from the meh. When we returned to Seattle, we were happy to find great-Italy-like gelato at the Bottega Italiana in Green Lake. After that shop closed (still sad about that!) we started going to their other shop by Pike Place Market. For years, this place featured delicious, fresh, quality gelato and sorbetto that tasted like the flavors they were labeled with--so strawberry tasted like eating real strawberries and so on. But on a recent visit, I got a small cup with strawberry and raspberry-dragon fruit and the first flavor I got when I tasted it was sugar. As I ate more of it, it started to remind me of Jolly Rancher candies, not totally, but enough to turn me off. They use just enough fruit to make you believe it's the flavor that it's labeled with, but the amount of sugar and other things added makes their fruit flavors as meh as the not-so-good shops we learned to avoid in Rome. Alas, I think my favorite gelato shop in Seattle has fallen prey to profit over quality. Why, Bottega Italiana, why??? It makes me and my hubs very sad. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because the service was friendly and efficient, and my hubs's dairy-based gelato flavors were all right--not great but all right. Over the years, we've tried all the other gelato shops in Seattle and none of them measure up either. I guess it's time we take another trip to Italy.
