I asked and the reply was "we were given the choice to wear masks, and choose not to." So I must exercise my choice and will not shop there! Felt very unsafe! We do have choices! Fort Myers, Florida This is my go to place when I need hardware items and I'm too lazy to drive to Home Depot which is a little farther away from my FM condo than the local Ace Hardware. A couple of days ago I ran into Ace Hardware to pick up some odds and ends like A/C filters, bug spray ( who doesn't buy bug spray in Florida ) , and door guard to prevent bugs from crawling under my front door. Seems like lately Florida has been inundated with all kinds of bugs & insects. Maybe the drought and dryness in south west Florida has something to do with the insect invasion (?) I needed help in locating the aforementioned items and was immediately assisted by Ace employee , I believe her name is Chloe ? She helped me locate the items and informed me that a screwless door guard was available in lieu of the screw only door guard which required a power tool to drill screw holes. Believe it or not I don't have a power drill... yet. Thanks to the friendly Ace employees I was in and out with my purchases in less than ten minutes. Free Parking in the Ace Hardware lot. read more

Dave was the nicest man ever! I had got some sort of mysterious sealant on my car from a truck dropping it and splashing all over my car. Tired, exhausted, and third stop after trying to find some way of getting it off. I went in and explained to Dave how I needed to get this sealant off and was about 5 seconds away from just breaking down after everywhere I had gone was just making fun of my situation. Dave pull out every idea he could think of and came outside and helped decide what product would be best. He figured denatured alcohol would fix it, he went out and tested and it and it came off! I was so happy and just couldn't be more thankful for Dave! He was the kindest, most helpful person who went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of! Thank you Dave! read more

Second time in this store and the old man who was (failing) at helping me find wall anchors decided to be condescending asking what I do for a living simply because I didn't immediately choose what he recommended. Ace hardware store and n Fort Meyers can't compare to the Ace hardware stores in Edgebrook, Illinois or any store in Chicago. I'm not a fan of Home-depot or Lowels. The lady who assisted me was very nice, she then asked a man who was there to help me. He stated they didn't have what I required not a problem I'll take my business somewhere else. My problem with this man was that I found him to be a bit rude. Edge brook store would have looked into our options and would have spoken in a kinder manner. I'll try another Ace store before going to Home Depot. I will never return to this store again. read more

This will be my second, and last, review of Vision Ace. I'll never bother them again. They proved once again today that they don't want/need my business. Mission accomplished! Their TOTAL lack of commitment to employee training/customer service was obvious when the clerk who I approached, IN the plumbing department, didn't know where (what?) the washing machine hoses were. And this guy was much more interested in the scanning device that he was carrying. Found the one that I needed and it scanned a dollar more at the register than the price on the display hook. When I mentioned this to the cashier she looked at me like I had two heads, and repeated the higher price, I guess in case I hadn't heard her the first time. Most stores would have offered to check, or taken the customer's word for it. Not here; would've taken a bit of effort. I bought it anyway, nobody buys a washing machine hose just to have, but never again. They just don't give a damn! read more

I purchased extension cords and fans in preparation of Hurricane Irma. Then, we decided to evacuate due to the size and power of the storm. Afterwards, we tried to return the unused and unopened items, only to be told they would not refund them. The store manager told me that corporate policy does not allow for any returns for "hurricane" items. Give me a break. Is that the way Ace hardware works with our community during a devastating storm? Those items could have been purchased by another customer that needed them, but instead they sit in my garage in wait for the next hurricane. Ace Hardware just lost a customer, and I will try to get as many friends and family to do the same! You stink! read more

This place is amazing. All the selection of big box store, but with great personalized customer service. I went there when Home Depot could not fill my order for a specific bolt size to complete a wayfarer project, and because I had called to see if they had it in the store, they had it bagged and ready for me at the register. There store was open, clean and inviting, and the entire staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Especially Marci at the front desk, who makes you feel like family and goes the extra mile to ensure you get the service you need. I would recommend this hardware store to anyone for their great inventory, professional staff, and the atmosphere and personal attention that permeates the entire store. read more

We often visit ace for our home projects. They are located right by our house and it's very convenient. The entire staff is very friendly and are well informed on their projects. They always direct me to he right area and offer excellent advise. We have been visiting the store on. A weekly basis and are very happy with their products. And moreover their return policy. (Due to me getting extra stuff all the time. )Kurt Meghan and the rest of the staff are great. And my kids know them by their first name. Can't get that In the big stores. read more

Once upon a time there was a guy named Mike who ran this store. The store was second to none back then. He's gone now I think because the home office thought they had a better idea. Since he left this store has gone down hill and continues the slide into oblivion. The staff is a bunch of snarky know nothings. on a saturday am , i needed a 5/16 allen socket bit to take down a wall 30 ft in length , oh no , they don't have one , good thing we did some great thinking , with both doug and alex at hand , we took a regular allen and cut 2 inches off 2 of them , just in case one rounds off , that is why they are there to take care of the customer's , and another reason i don't go to the big box store's ,,,,,,,, than you again , great going ,doug and alex ! i rate this store number 1............ read more
