Best optometry ever!!! Took my 5 y/o son in for an exam and I will admit, I was nervous to see how he'd would react but he loved it! Receptionist was warm welcoming and check in was a breeze. There was barely any wait time. The technician was friendly, gentle and made it fun as well as easy for my son to understand. I was nervous to have him be dialed but since they use the "optomap" there was no need for drops! Dr. Lew did such an amazing good job with the exam. She was fun and friendly but also educational and made everything easy to understand (since no one in my family wears glasses.) The optician was also super helpful when picking out glasses! They explained what insurance contributed and what were my portions and also got my son styled in such adorable frames. They walked me through all the add-on's glasses require without sounding like a sales pitch or making me feel that way. They said glasses would takes two weeks but I got a text a little under that saying they were ready! At pick up the optician explained how my so should wear the glasses Even explained how to care and clean as well as adjusted them to his fit so they're wouldn't slip. I had a great experience here. I'm not a fan of getting new glasses but the friendly and knowledgeable staff made it very easy. It took less than 1 hour to get in and out with an eye examine and new glasses choice and picked them up in less than a week. We have been seeing Dr. Yamada and Dr. Lin for several years and been thoroughly satisfied with both. Dr. Yamada never pushed me to get glasses and didn't need and when I finally did need more than over the counter readers, I was given several options. When I followed up with an annual exam, Dr. Lin encouraged me to stay with my current prescription until after 3 years when it was evident that my eyes had changed enough to warrant new lenses. I love the style options and price ranges on frame and contacts and Dr. Yamada even offered the option of using Costco or another discounted optical department. I prefer the ease and professionalism of Vision Dynamics and will continue using them for my optical health. read more

Been going to Dr. Yamada for 28 years start from when he used to be in Daly City. So sad he is retiring. Have not tried dr. Lin yet but will now. Loved Dr. Yamada. there are many optometrists closer to where I live but worth driving 25 minutes each way to his office for him. Agree with others that Sherry is terrible. I even told Dr. Yamada once that she acts like she does not want to be there. Not sure why they keep her. Dr. Yamada and his wife who also helps at the front desk often are so nice. Each year I go back hoping Sherry will be gone. I have an appointment in a week. I again hope she will be gone. I give Dr. Yamada 6 stars. Zero for Sherry and 4 stars for the others. read more

I have been going to Vision Dynamics for many years. I loved Dr. Yamada, but, sadly, he retired. In the past 4 years, I have had 4 different doctors, which is pretty frustrating when you have to re-explain issues. I recently had to upgrade my prescription, but was not due for another pair of glasses through my insurance. I did use them to replace the lenses in an existing pair at over $200. When I picked up the glasses, I asked for my prescription so that I could order a back-up pair on-line. They gave it to me, but it wasn't complete. It didn't include one crucial component (the PD). I asked for it and they told me there was a charge. I would have been willing to pay something reasonable, but they wanted $35 to release it to me. No thanks. I am going elsewhere and will not be back. By the way, I got my PD elsewhere and was able to order 2 pairs of glasses, frames and lenses (with the same coatings they sold me on) for less than half the price of the lenses they put in an existing pair. They are WAY over-priced in my opinion. read more

The only thing good about this place is Dr. Yamada. He is thorough with the examination and explain everything in great detail. The optical shop is a different story. My wife and I had been buying our eye glasses here for years. We recently learned that the shop had been over charging us. My wife recently purchased a pair of glasses with progressive lens and was charged $175 after our VSP coverage. According to VSP, the charge for the progressive lens should have been only $105. The shop issued a credit of $70 after confronted by VSP. I tried to order a new pair glasses this week and was quoted $256 which includes $136 for progressive and $87 for high density lens after our VSP coverage. According to VSP, the cost for progressive lens is only $95 and the high density lens is not necessary. My final cost should be $118 rather than $256. This is a huge discrepancy!!! I really questioned the business practice of this shop. It appears that they try to push unnecessary options and over charge their customers. Anyone who plans to purchase eye glasses should question every single charge and check with your insurance company on the correctness of the charges. read more

I recently had an eye exam and purchased new glasses at Vision Dynamics. From the minute I arrived, the staff was friendly and welcoming. They were knowledgeable about my insurance benefits and were able to immediately access my records, etc. The doctor was very thorough with the exam, using state-of-the-art technology, and took the time to listen and understand my concerns, and explain things to me. After my exam, I received a lot of assistance with choosing my new frames. I really wanted the opinion of others on what shape, etc. was best for me, and they were very helpful. When I went in to pick up the glasses, based on the overall process being so successful, I left my sunglasses with them to have the lens replaced. That was also a smooth process. During these visits, I learned about a feature that can be added to lens to protect your eyes from the blue-light that is emitted from lights and technology screens. They had a lot of information on this matter and had demo lens to show me the degrees of protection that can be provided to protect our eyes. I am now returning with my 12 year old to get glasses for her to wear when she is using her iPad. Overall, this office provided me with excellent, friendly customer service and met my optical needs. I was very satisfied with Vision Dynamics and definitely recommend them! read more
