I never realized the lack of doctor to patient care I used to have. I use to go to Costco and I thought the service they provided was it nothing special about it. They recently stopped taking my insurance so I had to look for a new office and a friend recommended this place. As soon as I walked in I was greeted. I also noticed the dr being attentive to check on people to see if they have been helped. I was seen at my scheduled appointment time. The exam itself ,the doctor took her time and was thorough. Aside from that she was kind. From there Sophia was helping me pick out new sunglasses and was patient while I browsed through some and even gave me different alternatives that weren't on the shelf. I got input from all the women in the office to check if my glasses were good for me or not . I was extremely happy by the end of it all. I will definitely be coming back here. Finally found a great optometrist! I adore Dr. Han! She is very helpful and caring. She took her time with my eye exam. She educated me on dry eyes after having my LASIK procedure over a decade ago. She applied temporary plugs to my tear ducts and was very gentle. Her prices to upgrade my lenses are great (not expensive at all). read more

Went in to order my glasses Dec 4 2020. I was told to give them 2 to 2 and a half weeks and they will give me a call. I gave them a little bit more time because of the Christmas season and because of Covid. 4 and a half weeks later, no phone call. I called them up and I was told that they have the lenses there but the frame is not there yet. What?! All this time and no one bother to check til I called?! They said I have to wait another week. So today I finally got my glasses. A whole 6 weeks later. The glasses are fine but the service is horrible. I'll be one of those that will never be back there again. read more

I've been coming to this location for a long time. I love glasses and often would pay out of pocket to buy high end frames like Gucci, Marc Jacobs, etc. with all of the works. I came her so much that when I would stop by and Wendy was so kind and always had something that had just came in that she knew I would like and I always did and would purchase them right on the spot. I absolutely loved this place. Until I came in this a couple of months ago to get my son's glasses fixed that were still under warranty. My original person Wendy wasn't there so I had to work with someone else who was a very rude and unprofessional employee (Sofia). First she told me they didn't have the glasses, so I left then she calls me and says she has the glasses 10 minutes after I left, so I return. When I return she tells me to come back and I leave again then someone calls me and tells me to come back. I ask if I needed to bring anything and she says no. So I grab my son and head back to the office and she asks for the old glasses and I proceeded to tell her that she told me that I didn't need to bring anything and the old glasses were trash. She then told me it was my responsibility to just "know" that she needed the old glasses even though she told me they were trash and she continued to argue with me with a smug smile on her face. I ended up telling her that the way she was acting was unprofessional and she just smiled. What business allows their staff to act this way!?Meanwhile the doctor (Dr. Han) was sitting right there and she doesn't say ANYTHING. Not a single word! This woman Sofia had me driving back and forth to the office...20 mins each ways and didn't care about how her mistakes were inconveniencing me. Not a single apology! I've never had an experience like this ever! I was even willing to buy a new pair out of pocket, but her attitude was so bad. She didn't care that I had been a long time customer and had referred many people here. I was and am still really shocked how I was treated and how the doctor didn't say anything either. I will never come here again nor refer anyone here as well. Out of principal I ended up walking into another eye doctor's office who acted very professional and purchased my son new glasses from them. Stay away from here. Yes there are good reviews here but look at all the other 2 star and 1 star reviews and you will see their experiences are similar. I've been coming here for about 5 years now and the staff is always incredibly kind and efficient. I usually come here once or twice a year to get a refill on my supply of contacts. I go for the 6 month supply of air optix night & day. The middle aged Asian lady (I think one of the owners) is the doctor that usually performs the eye exams. She's very professional, friendly and patient. Each time I get an exam (once a year), she always makes sure my prescription is perfect and that I'm comfortable with how the lenses fit. I would definitely recommend Visionmax and will keep coming back. read more

Worst optometry we've ever been to. Over the phone they confirmed that they accept out vision insurance. However, when we got there they failed to contact our insurance company and charged us in full for the exam. Also, we had asked for a physical copy of our prescription while waiting for a one month supply of contacts to come in (let's face it, it's cheaper to order online). Day we went in to pick up our contacts, they added additional charges on the bill saying they had "forgotten" to charge us on top of the exam fee last visit. Again, giving us the runaround about what our insurance covers. Horrible business, they are thieves and will surely rob you! read more

Dear Vision Max, Im sorry that it has to end this way, We (my family and myself) have been customers for over 10 years, and i am officially DONE with Vision Max. When a company specifically says: "I suggest you buy your contacts elsewhere..." ITS TIME TO MOVE ON. I understand there's been change... perhaps all of the sudden, and I gave you the benefit of the doubt, unfortunately the new people working the counter are extremely rude and have absolutely no idea what GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE is. I called today for contacts and the guy said it would be $65, (for 90), I explained to him that I found them online for $63 and if there was anyway he could offer some what of a discount, since I have been a member for so long and I was going to be in the neighborhood soon. he said: "I can't beat $63, I suggest you buy your contacts at WALGREENS" I said: "Well, i wasnt trying to get you to beat the price, i simply wanted to know if I was going to stay with Vision Max or not... I guess MY LOYALTY means nothing to your company. please have my prescription ready tomorrow." It's not the $2 dollar difference that bothered me. it was the tone in his voice. The lack of professionalism, and the fact that he literally told me TO TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. lol are you kidding me? I had bad experience. I had appointment with doctor name Dr lizzet de Ramos. The prescription she gave was not right because it was making my eyes stressful. She is really inexperienced. Been going to Visionmax for 10 years. Dr. Han is great and Leo is the best. They are on time. Leo will clean my glasses everytime whether they need it or not. Very friendly. Great selection, reasonable prices. UPDATE. I've read a couple of bad reviews about Visionmax here. Anyone who says they got bad service is a liar. These guys wouldn't know how to give bad service. Someone else said it took 4 months to get their glasses. I find that hard to believe. I usually get my glasses within 24 hours. They are so quick I can't get back there fast enough to pick them up. Sharee, if you could read just fine, why did you go to the eye doctor? If you can't see while driving, but can see to read wouldn't you know that? I was so happy to find Dr. Han and Visionmax last year after my former optometrist became very condescending and not very helpful about my dry eye condition. I randomly picked Dr. Han's practice from a list of providers that carried my insurance, Spectra (not that best coverage, nonetheless still insurance!) and I was happy I got her. Dr. Han, from the day I met her, seem very willing and concerned about treating my eye. I was actually surprised how easy going and concerned she was with my treatment even though I was pretty much a walk in client. She knew my dry eye condition would need multiple visits and already advised me the next steps and how to treat my eye on my own, ugh unlike my other optometrist who I think was just trying to bill every single time I came in for a short visit. The rest of the staff is real friendly and honest about how you look like when you're trying to pick out new glasses. I love the pair of glasses I recently bought from them and now am back to wearing contacts. I will be coming back to Dr. Han for my future eye appointments. Thanks Dr. Han for treating my eye! Although Visionmax doesn't accept the vision insurance, I purchased a great quality frame and expensive progressive lenses and paid out of pocket. They, especially Sofia, are great. They did a couple of remakes of lenses for me at no charge and without hesitation. Although I didn't get my eye exam there, the Optometrist helped me a couple of times when I needed my prescription looked at. The Only reason they're not getting 5 stars from me is that they didn't accept my insurance. Otherwise, they get 10 stars for great service! Go see Sofia. You won't be disappointed. read more

This place has a great selection, but horrible customer service. Dr. Han is professional and friendly, however, I had a very bad experience with her salesperson. They didn't inform me when there were delays, it took 4 months to get my glasses, and when I would call to check the progress of my perscription they told me that they would be in touch with me and that I shouldn't keep calling them. When the glasses finally came in, the frames were broken and it took another few weeks to get them back. It would have been nice for them to take responsibility instead of blaming my insurance company for the delays. Disappointed and I won't be going back. read more

I guess i should have read the reviews before chosing this place. I just moved to the valley, but I used to be a customer of the Vision Max in Ventura. it was always a pleasure going to get my annual check up and I was hoping to continue with Vision Max here in the SFV, but it only took 2 minutes to realize I was not in ventura anymore. Not a greet from anyone, in fact, they did not even acknowledge my existence, i understand that they had customers, but a "hello, we'll be rigth with you" would have sufficed. i sat down awkwardly and waited. they didn't even ask me for my name. a few minutes later Someone asks me if I needed help, I said i had an appointment and he said: "Oh, you're late. we've been ewaiting for you, quick, sit... sit." Um, maybe if you'd ask me my name 10 minutes ago and i arrived, you would have helped. after I did my exam, and it was time to chosse my glasses i asked to see some glasses behind the counter and the guy says to me: "Those are $345 glasses, you insurance only covers $135" EXCUSE ME?? who does he think he is to tell me I cannot see GLASSES i can AFFORD! (even if i couldnt, how dare he tell me that?) what kind of customer service is this? maybe staying quiet works better for them, because as soon as they open their mouth... garbage comes out. on a positive note, the doctor seems like a lovely lady. too bad her workers are running away all her customers. read more

What can I say about Visionmax? Well I can only say that they are amazing!!! I have been coming here for about 15 years (I got my first pair of glasses here when I was in middle school) and I never wanted to go to another Optometrist!! Dr. Han is an amazing doctor who truly cares about her patients. She makes sure to take the time to talk to you if you have any questions, or even just to say hi and catch up. She has done an amazing job of finding a very sweet, caring, and helpful staff as well. They make it a point to know you by name even if you only go in a couple times a year. They have an amazing selection of glasses and sunglasses to choose from and will work with you to find the perfect look. I have a tricky prescription and they make sure that my eyes are well taken care of. I have progressive lenses (meaning I have three different prescriptions all in one lens), that have transition (they get dark when exposed to UV rays), anti-glare, and scratch resistant, and they are incredible!! They will not sell you anything that you don't need and don't pressure you into anything. They want you to have the most comfortable experience and the best vision you can!! You can even walk in anytime and get your glasses adjusted (no appointment needed) and cleaned! This is truly an amazing place to find your glasses and sunglasses. Very competent staff who give the place a great "neighborhood" feel despite the business's location in a glorified strip mall. Loved the optometrist - she was very professional and focused but in a manner that was reassuring, not intimidating; in fact while I was in the chair getting the eyes checked I found myself telling her my whole life story before I knew what was happening. The guy selling the frames was very service-oriented and friendly. I didn't see much of the girl who had me fill out paperwork and shot air into my eyes, so I don't have an opinion about her. My one quibble is that despite there being so many frames to choose from, I wasn't given much of a chance to look around and was instead hand-sold a specific pair of Prada frames with square lenses. The salesman pooh-poohed my request to see rounded lenses, saying that they wouldn't be right for my face, even though I prefer rounder lenses because with the strength of my prescription square lenses only make the glasses that much heavier. Problem was that my mother was buying the glasses for me and the salesman accurately pegged her as someone who was willing to pay top dollar for eyewear: hence Prada. Mom pronounced the Prada frames marvelous; I wasn't as impressed, but it was a Christmas gift, so I didn't fight my square-eyed destiny. My mother was given a huge discount on the frames and eye exams (probably because I also ordered contacts and my brother also had new glasses made, and because we were repeat business). One star removed for the sales approach, and for the fact that I had to have my glasses readjusted elsewhere before they felt comfortable. Horrible Dr. I've never felt so rushed in my life. The doctor never smiled, was kind or anything similar to that. The picture that shows she's smiling is NOT true. That picture is the total opposite of her demeanor. I waited to write this review until I got my glasses. Now that I have them, I feel the prescription is totally wrong. When she asked if I saw better with one or two, she moved so fast, I could not tell the difference. I told her at least three times, could you please do it again. Each one of my family members said the same thing. I saw the family that went in before our's and they came out with an unhappy expression. That should have told me everything, yet I still preceded inside. NOW, in terms of the actual other employees whom take care of servicing you for the glasses you've selected, they were awesome. They are good, hard working people with excellent work ethics. I plan on calling her boss and letting them know about her service, especially since I don't plan on ever returning. What a shame, because I've been coming here for the last three years. Actually, if her boss is reading this review, help me out by going in undercover and find out how she treats you. Love this place been coming here since 2011, they know how to take care of you. New staff does a great job. I barely meet Patrick on this years visit and I feel like I have known him for years. As implied by the name, this optometrist really maximizes your vision! After going to the same eye doctor for over a decade, I decided to give a new place a try, so I read some reviews, and made a Saturday appointment. I was really impressed by the attentiveness in the office and the professionalism of the doctor. Although they do not pressure you too buy any prescriptions through them, their prices are so competitive, I decided to get a pair of knock-around glasses, and they matched me up for my best fit. They also have a huge glasses selection, as shown in their pictures. I would recommend VisionMax to anyone looking for a new optometrist in the valley. The only gripe I could possibly think of is parking, but it's always bad in the PR Center for all businesses, so I can't hold that against them. read more

I was just starting to develop a relationship with Insoo and he just stared learning my tastes when it comes to the frames I like and he's no longer there either. I'm not that confident with the rest of the staff that's there. They're just not up to snuff and the level of customer service isn't there. I'm going to deal with Dr. Han directly because the rest of the staff don't know how to deal with customers. Dr. Han is great and I'm not going to penalize her for the inadequacy of the new staff. Leo has a knack for knowing exactly which type of frame will look good on you within the first 3 pairs he recommends, but he will stick with you through as many pairs as you'd like to try. He hands me the statement and says "Cool?"
