    I went to Visionworks with my husband when he needed me eyeglasses. When he first entered he saw the clerk who gave him his insurance information and what he was entitled to. I then helped my husband pick out some new glasses. When we saw the next clerk to check out, we learned that he had different and better benefits than what he was given before. He was happy with his new glasses. Jasmine was very helpful. The only complaint that I have is that this took much longer than it should have. We ended up being late to our next engagement because of this. I recommend Visionworks. Just be prepared to be there a while. Also, make sure that you get your benefits properly explained to you so that you get what you are entitled to for the correct price.

    Switched to Visionworks because the cost of exam and contacts on VSP Network insurance is less than half the price of going to an out-of-network provider. My experience was surprisingly similar to going to a more pricey option. As I did my exam only a few weeks ago, there were many precautions taken such as temperature check, well-sanitized equipment, use of hand sanitizer, masks worn, scheduled appointments, questionnaires, and a good distance between myself and others. I appreciated all of these actions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The pre-screening and exam process was very similar to others that I've had with what appeared to be the same quality of equipment as well. Dr. Bunchuk was quick and thorough in his exam and I felt that I had a good understanding of my eye health from this visit. He gave a good explanation of options for both contacts and glasses and made sure I was knowledgeable about my options. The checkout process was quick and easy where my order was quickly entered into the system and they took care of processing all my insurance paperwork and discounts for me. My order quickly arrived at the store in only 6 days where it was packaged and labeled neatly in a bag for pickup. Overall, with a simple process and big insurance savings - I'm sure to utilize their services again in the future.

I went in to pick them up and the problem wasn't solved. The arms/legs of the glasses were still loose and charged me $200 and did not document what they replaced or fixed. I indicated that they didn't solve the problem and was not happy. They said glasses were fine as they replaced the bridge. I asked them if they did a full assessment of the glasses, and they "said" they replaced the bridge. I said I cannot wear them because they are loose and still flimsy. How do you charge someone but don't fix the problem? I will be filing with the better business bureau especially since I'm a senior. Very Dissatisfied Customer.

I don't need new frames next year. Not happy, as I spent over $500 and got no satisfaction. I reached out to fill out a complaint form twice; have heard nothing back from headquarters. Think twice before ordering from Pearl Vision. Not good customer service. Only want your money.

I went to Alan Optical on 11/10/25 and although I only went over my frame allowance by $25 I was charged and paid (stupidly) $807. I thought...well maybe there will be an adjustment when I get the EOB. The EOB dated 11/25/25 says I owe $375 so I call Alan Optical and they say, oh, this was billed wrong. We just dont know how much we owe you. We will work on it. They apparently rebill because on 3/9/26 I get a NEW EOB saying I owe $80. I call Alan Optical and they say the EOB is wrong and tbe insurance company (who THEY contracted with) is notoriously difficult to deal with. I explain my frustration and I'm told basically to go pound sand. She literally told me "you're acting like this is my fault." I have emailed both EOBs and made calls and I have to deal with the fact that I got ripped off. Beware.

That is what I like about Alan Optical, and that is just a plus since I have been going there at a minimum of once a year for over 20 years. I cant imagine going and seeing anyone else other than Dr. Keith Mihaly or his associates. Dr. Mihaly is very personable, takes the time to understand and help resolve any issues and is very perceptive to anything he might find and to provide a solution! I value his perspective and opinions. I also really like the office staff who have always been very helpful and assisted me with selecting new glasses . I highly recommend Alan Optical to anyone looking for quality service and not a cookie cutter franchise store!
