Came to this location for my yearly eye exam after moving from Tucson last year. The staff was very helpful, and Kelsey was very knowledgeable during the initial part of my visit. The doctor was also very nice, checked in frequently throughout the exam to make sure I didn't have any questions, and got through the appointment quickly. I will definitely return to this location. The doctor and the employees were very nice at this location. They say they take Care Credit. This is very helpful if you don't have eyeglass insurance. So I get there give them my card and they say oh it's only for the exam they don't take it to pay for the glasses. And the exam has to reach a certain amount before they'll do it. What's the point? So I canceled the appointment and I went to a different company. If you plan on using care credit to pay for your exam and glasses, don't go here. read more

I'm only giving one star because there is not a zero. I will never go back. They lie and tried to charge my son 91.00 instead of 6.42. Thankfully I went with my son to his appt. I looked over his insurance and brought a copy with me. From the very beginning they tried to sale us a Retinal Scan. The only time you would need one is if you had prior eye issues or Diabetes...and even then I would not go to Visionworks, I would go to an Ophthalmologist. The Optometrist even put that my son needed to come back in a year w/ a Retinal Scan--unbelievable. My son just needs glasses for reading - his rx is only for a +1.25. There is no need for a retinal scan at Visionworks! Then the guy helping us said that my son had a 150.00 allowance for frames. He picked out a pair for 129.00. We went up to pay and the guy was like --oh there frames are 21.00 and the lenses are 40.00 then you have to pay for the special lenses and get the insurance plan and get 3 kinds of tints. The final cost was 91.00. WHAT!! I showed him that the frames and lenses would be covered at 100% according to his insurance. He was like --- NO that's a different lens and blah blah. When I wouldn't budge and told him I was not paying for that he went to his computer to look at the plan because he didn't believe me - even though it was in real time on my phone. He came back and said -- Oh I guess you're right. Your total cost is 6.42. Then he hurried and rushed us out of there. He was totally scamming us. Yes, I have more...we were listening (not on purpose) to the lady on the row over from us--she was in tears because the stupid girl was telling her that her and her son's glasses were going to be over 100.00 dollars. You could clearly see that she didn't have a lot of money. The sales lady was still trying to scam her for the crap she didn't need for the glasses. This poor woman was asking about her insurance and this sales lady was like -- oh this is your copay. Well after a few tears the lady agreed to the glasses-- then the sales lady was like--oh I was just giving you options. You don't have to get this...blah blah blah. These people are total scammers-- they only want their commission. They DO NOT CARE about the customer at all!! Need an immediate contact fitting and this was the only place I could get in the next day. We waited for about 20 minutes while they helped other people who came in after us. Finally, a shining beacon of light named gloria came and helped us, she was in a word, phenomenal. Very very dissatisfied with their service. I am going there since past 3 years for my lenses. I always take a year supply from them. I always wear a contact lens so sometimes it happens that the lens gets damaged by accident before the due date and I think this can happen to anyone. There may be a dust storm outside or rain or something which once in a while spoils the lens. I called them and asked for a trial pack. Was this so difficult? Tanisha called me and said a clear no, she talked very rudely. I mean how can you not understand the needs of your patient? They always have trials and what if you give to one of your patients? I was sent two text messages telling me that my two pair of glasses were in. ( It said nothing about having to have an appointment if there needed to be an adjustment.) I went to pick them up, no other customers were in the store. The woman asked me if I had an appointment I said no it didn't say I needed one. The absolute worst! I understand that COVID precautions are still in place and respecting every individual is important. I WISH I would have known how strict and unwavering they are. Had to make an appointment to get a lost screw replaced (we paid the extra insurance to replace the whole pair) and we could have been shipped a new pair based on how long it's taking us to sit here - separated mind you!! (my son has to literally sit on the other side of the wall from me for other peoples comfort). My other son who we asked to get his glasses (purchased here as well) balanced - also has to sit 6 ft apart from me for everyone else's comfort. 30 mins .... Replacement screw still not in place. If I could give less than 1 star, I completely would. I arrived about 15 min late, due to being new to the area and not realizing it was in the mall. I was driving around it, which was my fault. I tried to call, but the message said due to COVID, they are only able to answer limited calls. Wow. I arrive and walk in to check in at the desk as the signage instructed. A woman talking to her employees brashly tells me to go back outside and wait at the door to be told to come in. Out of the 6, yes, 6 signs at the doorway, only one said to wait there and it was on the floor. The rest were up on signs and said to come in and check in, and there was even a desk to check in at. A few minutes later, a lady comes and takes my name. I also mention to her they need to reduce signage for less confusion, to which she didn't even acknowledge. She goes and checks with someone and tells me they need to reschedule. I told her I'll go to another location. This location has nasty people, even the person who confirmed my appointment yesterday. And when there are no customers in there, I shouldn't have to go wait at the door like a dog. Arizona is open 100% now for the record. Nice try, Visionworks. I just recently went into this Visionworks the other day for my annual eye exam. From what I remember last year, I had a good experience. Two days ago when I went in for an eye exam I had the worst customer service experience at Visionworks! The optometrist was SO rude, not polite, in a rush, and didn't take the time to explain anything! Prior to seeing her, the assistant was testing my eyes. I had taken off my contacts so my eyes were watery, blurry, and uncomfortable. Some of the tests were undone because my eyes kept watering and I get paranoid about the puff of air test. The optometrist, Rachael Smith had no warm greeting. As she asked me what was going on as I walked into the exam room I told her my eyes were just watering. She rudely asks why and if that's normal and if I had been overwearing my contacts. I say no and tell her I switch to glasses as often as I remember and she rudely and abruptly say 'I wasn't talking about your glasses' That's just one rude remark. She tells me to sit up straight because she says I'm slouchy and crooked. When I tell her that I think something's wrong after the light test because I can still see marks of light in my eye and it's irritating me she just tells me it's fine. It eventually went away after some time but I was freaked out and she didn't offer any explanation. I had to ask myself how my eyes are doing and if they had gotten any worse. I swear if I didn't ask she would have just sent me out the door. This wasn't who I had seen last year. And this wasn't the kind of service I received last year either. To top it off, it seems as if all they care about is trying to take people's money. My friend was waiting for me and she told me the sales workers kept talking about how much money they made in sales. Isn't that something you keep to yourself or talk about in the break room? To make matters worst the guy who was helping me ring up the glasses kept pestering me about getting contacts and kept being pushy about it. He must've thought he could do whatever because I'm a girl but good thing my friend was there because she is very direct and to the point and he kept referencing her remarks to me. You can tell he was pissed off as he put the order for the lenses in for the glasses. Such a horrible crew at the location! If I could give this place -10000 stars I would especially to their joke of a manager Wendy. I called in on Wednesday because I was in a bind and I had lost my left contact and my glasses had recently broke. I had went into the store two weeks before that to get my prescription and order my contact and waited over 90min just to receive nothing because of system issues they were having leaving me unable to order my glasses and contacts. Anyway, so I call the store frantic about needing contacts and wanted to see if it would be possible for me to order a pair of trail contact and the reason I asked for trail pairs was because the last time I ordered contacts there it took over 4 months and the trails got there within a week and obviously at this point I need something fast cause I only have one contact in my eye. Wendy let's me know it's store policy that they don't give out contacts unless I order actual contacts so I'm like okay well I don't want to order contacts because the contacts I had one weren't the best fit so I wanted to get some that were a better fit and she said well that's store policy so I'm like okay let me get a box of contact she pulls up my name and then tells me well actually the doctor DEF would not let you get trail pairs because you're prescription is due this upcoming month so you could only order the contacts and I'm like well I really really need these contacts I don't have anything else there is no way an exception could be made to a loyal customer at all and as I'm trying to say this she just keeps talking over me and saying "Like I said before, life I said before the store policy is blah blah blah" I said I know what the store policy is I have ears as well but this is a different situation though and I can't wait for 4 months for my contacts to get here and she's like " well it's not our fault" which first off whoever made this lady a manager DUMB. Her customer service was absolutely awful. I've worked in customer service for over 6+ years and I would never speak to my clients with such attitude or disregard of their situation. I am also not a Karen type of person I am always really understanding in situations but from the start she was being rude. Anyways so she's said that's why you should always have a back up pair of glasses and I'm like first off the reason I don't have a pair of glasses is because you staff was incompetent and couldn't give me prescription or find it for me to order it and second I couldn't afford them at the time??? And then she says well that's not our fault again. At this point I'm super upset so naturally lol I start crying cause wtf am I suppose to do. She hears me crying on the phone and I'm just asking here is there anyway you could at least ask someone and the girl goes back AGAIN to talking over me "LIKE I SAID BEFORE, LIKE I SAID BEFORE we can not do that". Still being a rude no type of sympathy for my situation at all. Anyway, so fast forward I find out eyeglass world can do my glasses for same day! They tell me to send over the glasses prescription I call vision works back ask them to send it over to them. I call eyeglass world maybe an hour after, they say they haven't gotten it... obviously I'm pissed cause wtf vision works YALL don't know how to fax? I call vision works Wendy rude ass self is back on the phone. "Oh it's failed" ....... Okay so no one was going to call me letting me know especially since the situation was urgent. I tell her to send it again. I get to eyeglass world... still not there call back Wendy "I sent it, it's saying busy" well it's not busy send it again. Finally after 2/3 more times of me calling back we finally get the WRONG prescription. I call back 3 more times.... 3 more wrong prescription comes through. Then I call again cause why is this super hard to send over the right prescription. Anyway, I call back and Wendy goes I've been trying to send it we are busy so if it doesn't send this last time we can't do it anymore????? Like what???? Idk maybe use your brain and send the correct document so I told her that and she's like I'm aware of what it looks like and I'm like welp why do I have a bunch of contact lenses prescriptions in front of me.... Finally we get the right prescription. Eyeglass world was amazing, they showed more empathy than the Wendy was ever capable of. Not only did they check and see if they maybe had some trails to give me or if they could order some but they were able to get my glasses all set for same day. Eyeglass world should be an example to arrowhead visionworks. Wendy should be fired because she sucks and her being a manager put her in some customer service training or something. First and foremost, I didn't realize how bad my left eye had gotten in the course of 2 years. Thankfully I got my eyes checked today. The staff at Visionworks is fantastic. They made sure to keep everyone at least 6 ft apart, they ask that you wear masks and they take your temperature before checking in. The staff is very polite, the store is clean and they got me in and out of there VERY quickly. The gentleman that ran all my eye tests before the doctor saw me was very polite, made sure to thoroughly explain each step, what each machine did and he always made sure I was ok. The gentlemen taking calls and billing were fantastic as well. The system froze a couple times but they were patient and kind. Larysa was very helpful in helping me find the right pair of glasses for me. We looked at a few pairs, she had me try them and helped make that important decision. OMG. First of all we were told to be there at 8:30. The mall will not let you in until 9. As I sit here and wait, it is now 9:40 , my aggravation grows. My son broke his glasses so needed his new ones asap. Finally after a month we called to see if they were in and they had already been in for a couple of weeks. I wish I would have read the reviews about this facility. I had booked two appointments online and unfortunately we arrived 15 mins late due to trying to locate the facility. We were turned away for being 15 mins late. One of the exams was very important so I was okay if they cannot honor one of the appointments but they didn't care that I had 2 appointments. In which I had to schedule separately, but they would not honor either one of them. I have had great experiences at other locations and this is at the bottom of the barrel. We went in for our annual eye examinations. My husband needed a new pair of glasses and I reordered my contact lenses. To get my contacts there was much confusion on the floor end and they were unsure of how many boxes to sell me and picked wrong amount of boxes that were later corrected. This process took about an hour. I had to come back to pick up some boxes and they were mis-filed and it took over a half hour for them to give me my remaining boxes. Later my husband goes in to pick up his glasses. He tries them on and can't see out of one side. They try and try and do many adjustments. They suggest him walking around the mall with them. His head hurts from the glasses and returns. They tell him to see the Dr. After much time and examinations the Dr. discovers that the wrong prescription was made. OK they made a mistake. Then instead of saying I'm sorry Mr. so and so we will fix it they make him go threw the whole ordering process again and this takes another half hour. He gets a call maybe a week later saying his glasses are in. He goes in to pick them up and comes home. IT"S A GOOD THING HE HAS ME as he paid for something he didn't receive. As soon as he walks in the door I can see from a mile away the glasses aren't made correctly as they didn't polish the rimless part as they were paid extra to do. The edges just looked like bright headlights. NOW THIS IS A $80.00 charge that he was charged for that he didn't get. We drive back to Visionworks and they fix after we inform them about the rims and we wait another half hour. I wouldn't say don't go here as in the end all was fixed but I would say just be on your game as they make errors. read more

It's been a test of my patience at this store it really has. It has been a month since I had my eye appointment and was charged over $500 for 2 pairs of glasses, numerous visits to this store and now yet again they are having to remake set of lenses for me a third time. This is not what I expected when I spent that kind of money. The first set of glasses I purchased was a set of Nike Transitions lenses which I instantly reported to the sales girl that the give me eye/head aches the moment I put them on. In fact I demonstrated to her that I couldn't see as good as the glasses I had on my which were 2 years old. I was told by the sales girl that I need to get used to them. That was all I could do, so I went away thinking it was me. Well it's been a month and I still have headaches. Not to mention these glasses hardly react to my surroundings in the car, (which the sales girl blamed my window tints) yet when I am out in the open they do not react that much. In fact when I go inside a store I have to take them off as they will take a good 10 minutes to clear and are too dim. My wife has transitions lenses which work very differently than what I am experiencing. When I go into meetings for work I am the only person with transition lenses that have to leave them on the table until they decide to undarken. Now another pair I paid over $200 for lenses to be made for my carbon fiber frames, and now you are on your 3rd try since the beginning of January. I left my glasses for 2 hours only to be told when I returned that the lenses didn't fit at all. I could have been told that within minutes with a phone call. I left my glasses a week ago and come to try them on. First thing I notice was that my eyes and head do not hurt that these lenses have been made correctly to my prescription. So my question to myself now is that obviously I was correct in thinking that the transition Nikes have been made incorrectly which is what I tried to report when I first tried them on. However my brand new lenses are scratched, I was told by the sales guy that if I wanted to they would remake them. I said yes I paid over $200 for these lenses and they are in worse condition than the lenses I left for them to replace. I believe I have been patient enough here, It is clear I am dealing with some very unprofessional people that are used to dealing with people who are willing to be treated like this. The exam itself took about 15 minutes and was great. However, the prescription refill and contact lense order process was ridiculously long. First off, there was a new employee being trained.... Who apparently needs a lot of help. I understand being new but... this process took 40 unnecessary minutes of my time. Secondly, this could be due to the fact that every time an appointment is made online, a new file is created. Therefore, I had multiple files and they could not figure out which one was specific to this visit. This same thing happened to me at my last visit a year ago. I thought things would be updated or better this time around but they weren't. My appointment was at 0930 and I didn't leave until 11. I will unfortunately be making a switch to a different place because I can't keep going to eye exams that take an hour and a half. read more

I had a great experience going through the eye exam & getting my glasses but trying to get my contacts has been entirely different. I had my exam over a month ago and trial contacts were ordered, two weeks go by, so I call and ask about them. I was told there was a delay--no problem. Another two weeks go by and I have not heard anything so I decide to call and ask again... I called on Monday and was told (after being on hold for 20 minutes) that someone would call me back--I receive no call. On Tuesday, I call again. My call gets passed to 4 different people before someone tells me again, they would call me back. This time I make sure they have the right phone number--still no callback. I called Wednesday--the same story. I called again today, Thursday, and tell them about all of the promised calls back and I really just need to know when/if they're going to get my contacts... I am passed to another 4 people before being told I would get a call in 10 minutes, at this point I tell them again about the multiple failed callbacks previously and was assured I would hear from someone in no more than 10 minutes--that was 3 hours ago. This is beyond frustrating, it's not like I am asking for anything unrealistic. After my first review on Yelp, I was asked to email into customer service so they could ensure the issue was resolved... I did. I then received a reply advising that I would need to work this out with the store. Um, can't you see I have tried? I will be escalating this as far as I possibly can to ensure they don't get away with treating customers in this manner. read more

Recently I failed the eye test trying to renew my drivers license. My insurance, Devoted Health Plans, offers coverage with Visionworks so I went to Visionworks for glasses. I explained I only needed glasses specifically to pass the eye test so I could renew my drivers license. When I picked up my glasses I was stunned because I quickly realized the glasses didn't improve my eyesight in any way. The staff decided the problem was might be the bifocal/"progressive" element. I again explained I only needed the glasses for one task, to pass the eye test so I could renew my driver's license. So I went through another eye exam for a new set of glasses. The new glasses did not seem to be much better. Back at the DMV I had a very hard time with the eye test. All the letters were blurry, but I could tell the difference between the round letters like O & U and the blocky letters like M & W. I got 6 out of 8 letters right, and technically I failed the test. Unbelievable! But a very kind-hearted woman with the DMV helped me by pointing out the letters I missed, and gave me a second chance to identify them. Luckily I got them right the second time. When I called Devoted to see if there was going to be any problem returning the glasses, the Devoted representative told me that he had recently got glasses from Visionworks that were also of poor quality, and he had to return them. My husband hasn't had an eye exam in over 30+ years and she made the entire process painless and took the time to explain everything.
