Customer service needs more training in communicating with potential clients. I was turned off right away.

My mother has Alzheimer's and this place is a safe environment for her and I don't worry about her wondering off due to her having a wrist band that sets off an alarm anytime she gets close to the door and alerts staff! I can't say enough good things about the staff, they seem genuinely caring and they do things to keep the atmosphere upbeat , offering daily activities that keep the residents entertained, engaged and active, mentally and physically. Very grateful for Glen Terra!

However when you are providing medical care of any level, and are providing customer service based attention, you really ought to make sure your frontline, front office team is exceptional. Never in my entire life have I been so disrespected, dismissed, and treated less than, than being in that building. I had had a few questions regarding my dad's care. There are many siblings, I had a few concerns on visitations. More specifically what had happened was that my brother has texted saying he visited my dad. I had asked him how since we hadn't set up a "visitation list" or had never confirmed with anyone that anyone could see my dad. I also wanted to inquire on how to pay my dad rent -- as there was never a conversation had, and a failure to disclose such information. Nope! He walked right in, didn't even get questioned or stopped to sign in, just walked right in and visited my dad. How inappropriate, I know, so when I went to Cécilia the ugly inside and out front desk lady to ask about how this was allowed I was met with yelling, a nasty attitude, and a horrible experience where I was then ganged up on by her and Ana, a barely English speaking nurse who were both at that point berating and belittling me. Mind you, they are the ones in charge of care. They said the reason for them treating me this was as because lack of payment. They then labeled me, a 25 yr old Hispanic man as violent, aggressive, and rude -- in this political climate. How tone deaf. My dad on the other hand is having a blast. He's being treated well and I ended up just giving him a phone so he can report to me directly while he's still cognitive but after that I'm not too sure what my options are. Long story short, great overall care. Horrible front office and leading/managerial staff. They aren't trust worthy and are unfortunately just there for the check. P.s don't even try to get into contact with them. Carlos and Tony? Terry? Have never gotten back to a single email that my sister and I have sent them -- we have receipts!

There was a sitting area near the front desk which was very inviting. I looked around and definitely liked what I saw. The staff appeared to be friendly and helpful towards me and especially towards the patients. There are different sections depending on what level of care the patient needed. There's a really nice looking chapel located on the grounds. In the memory area, it's a locked unit. When I opened the door, an alarm went off and the staff came right away. Perfect for wandering patients! The waiting area for this unit was also very nice. The eating areas were nicely done. There was a TV in the eating area in the memory unit. I noticed that the patients in the memory unit had scheduled activities which was great. The living quarters are so nicely done and personalized with the patients stuff. They have their own bathroom with safety features. I didn't notice any smells. The SNF area takes Medicare and other insurances. A definite must see if you are considering placing your loved one in a memory unit.

If you had a question for the medical team, and you happened to step out at that moment, forget it, sit with your question until tomorrow, and hope for then. As I type this, I was on hold to ask a question; after 15 minutes someone picked up and hung up the line. I've since called back 4 times, placed on hold, and the line goes dead. When our family member was discharged, we were handed an overflowing amount of meds and told "go home and read the directions". Thanks. And the icing on the cake, the interior is a lovely 1992 palette. Recap: They have their hard skills down fine. On the contrary, the administration, soft skills, family engagement, patient environment, and "overall picture" receive a sold C-.

He understood my wife's anxieties from the start, and assured me that he would oversee her comfort. In the first weeks my wife was confused, not sure why she found herself in a new home. But the staff, so considerate and warm, made her achieving her comfort much easier. Her idiosyncrasies were responded to, and she was gently guided towards the many activities and pleasures of living at Sage Glendale. My experience of the staff is that they are always ready to help, and smile often as they do their work. They got to know my wife quite quickly, and they seem to understand her, even in the confusion of her dementia. Geraldine is one of the med techs who frequently help out. Ditas is also always solve problems and seek solutions. I have called several times, and she and the others always are aware of my wife's whereabouts, and ready to discuss recent occurrences. My wife's needs are met with regularity. And Thomas is a very real, feeling person, who clearly brings himself to the job; he's experienced and maintains awareness of the needs of his staff as well as the residents. I can't praise him highly enough!!

The food was very good as was the overall facility. Unfortunately they changed Directors again and ultimately the focus changed from assisted living to directed living. The new regime decided that telling residents what to do and when was a viable approach. Obviously it isn't. While services declined from overworked staff, new staff signifantly degraded care and the atmosphere. All while management increased prices and schemed to find additional fees to charge. I will definitely move both family members when I can. Sad really. It was good, I can't recommend it any more. I am paying over15k per month for stress and frustration.

Whatever one's quirks and needs, they are addressed both lovingly and respectfully. They never miss an opportunity to ask after residents' well being and take the time not just to administer individual care but to talk to the residents as if they matter to them. Five stars isn't nearly enough to express the superb situation my partner has found here.
