A group of 14 of us came to celebrate our December birthdays together. Went out for dinner; then came to Vista Lounge to dance and for drinks. The ambiance is always great here. They had a DJ I didn't know but he did pretty good. We danced all night and had a great time. Drinks were great. The Cosmopolitan Martine could have been better according to the few that ordered it but all other drinks were great. Bartenders were quick to take our orders considering how packed the place was. I have been here many times in the past 18 years. I loved that now they have a bucket to the left of the bar filled with water bottles. And this is great cause for us dancing all night hydration is important. So that's a plus for them. The only bad thing is that tables were filled with glassware and many broken next to dance floor. A dance floor that was packed so a little bump to the table and it could be a huge accident. Lots of broken glass on the dance floor too. I had to point out to one of the security guard the broken glasses near dance floor tables. They did take care of it fast. I may suggest to the manager to have a person come by with a bag just to pick up the actual garbage too. And maybe a bucket for glassware. Cause the guy that was picking up some was carrying it on his hand so it's hard to carry that many. So come by to have a good time. 100% recommend this place. The place is great for all ages. Music is great as well and they try to mix it up real good unless it's a theme night. Prices for drinks are reasonable considering that it's the casino. And now with no smoking band in the casino I'm happier to visit more often. read more

I'm a DJ and a nightlife venue owner in NYC. Suffice to say, I dress like a cool dude when I go out... so I was pretty shocked when the door guy pulled me out of the line at VISTA and told me I couldn't go in because my attire was inappropriate. I was informed that "business casual" was the dress code. When I pointed out others walking in with jeans and a t-shirt and asked what he could possibly mean by "business casual," he told me that my slightly sheer shiny black shirt was the problem. To be honest, I suspect that the door guy found my outfit to be a little bit gay and he didn't want any of that in his lounge. Perhaps I'm jumping to conclusions, but at the least, being fashionable is apparently prohibited at VISTA. If you want to pay exorbitant drink prices to be in a place where you must look basic to get in, this spot is for you. Went next door to Avalon and had a great time. A multi-level bar with sufficient seating, it's a great place to step away from the gambling floor and socialize. I had never been here before, so on a recent trip to the casino, the BF suggested we go. This is a high-end destination lounge. The scenery, especially the solar system with the twinkling shooting stars, is memorable. This is the perfect place to go to one a date night and the setting is intimate. I ordered a key lime martini, which has always been my favorite, but at $17.00, it was a bit pricey. I don't mind paying for a delicious drink at a nice place, but the service was severely lacking. We wanted to settle up for some time, and then I noticed our server heading downstairs. We waited a little longer, and she was nowhere to be found. It put a bit of a damper on the experience, and we ended up paying at the bar so we could eventually leave. We never saw her again. My suggestion is if you visit, sit at the bar to get better service and stick to the simple, classic drinks. My BF ordered his go-to vodka soda, and that was much more reasonably priced than my martini. read more

Hands down my favorite bar in Mohegan. I've been coming here since my 21st Birthday and haven't stopped since. The drinks are always so well made and the ambiance and atmosphere is so cool. It's so relaxing and adds so much fun when you look at the rock/ crystal like walls and the stars and the moon that they have in their projected sky. My absolute favorite drink off their menu is the Starry Night, I get it EVERY time I come here. It's a very nice place to hang out before or after a concert and the bartenders are always friendly and very helpful. I introduced one of my good friends to this bar last summer while she was interning for Mohegan and this past weekend got her Mom into going here too! Definitely an easy sell on people because of how beautiful it looks inside and how great the drinks are! They also sell cigars if you are into that, my boyfriend has had quite a few off their menu that he has absolutely loved. read more

I don't get the appeal of this place so don't base it on my review. Make your own judgement! Who knows, you might even like it (maybe). It's a bright colorful cave pavilion that reminded me of a stage straight from a video game. I'd dig it if it didn't look more appealing to children than adults. The dance floor is small but on purpose for a more intimate setting which looked a bit strange because there wasn't enough people filling up the gaps. Unfortunately, to me there was nothing really glamorous about this lounge. Overall Experience: No cocktail waitress in sight. We had to go to the bar for drinks and there were only two staff there handling the drinks on Friday night. I didn't bother getting anything because the drink list was very limited but my friends did so we brought them upstairs to get away from all the awkward wiggling. There were some high tops with a decent view up there but it'll only cost you your hearing for the night. The speakers were blaring when people were lacking. Feels a bit excessive. Open until 1am during the week and 2am Fridays and Saturdays, Vista Lounge is a pleasant area to unwind. The lounges consists of a few floors that feature two custom designed blackjack tables and a view of the entire gaming floor. The expansive roof makes it appear as if you were hanging out under the stars, its nice. Service has been lackluster. Bartenders and waitresses seem very unaware of patrons. All I ask for is a friendly smile while you take my money, but not the case here. The doormen have a job to perform, I get it. But quite frankly they aren't very friendly either, and can be completely down-right rude most of the time. Champagne, martinis, and cocktails are what is most readily available, expect pricey bar tabs. Their draft and bottled beer selection is very limited and profoundly boring. If you're looking for a place to hang out and get away from the hustle and bustle of rowdy gamblers or party-goers. Stop by Vista Lounge. I am not a "club" person, but I enjoyed my time here well enough. The decor is a bit cheesy, but they really commit to the theme! As a result, I have to say, it is cool. There is not much of a dance floor to speak of, thought that didn't really bother me. The line moved quickly, too. The drinks are reasonably priced, though not cheap. I ordered a vodka soda, as one does, and OMG I think it was straight vodka. I couldn't get it down! Door staff extremely rude. We arrive at 12:02 and we're told no one allowed in past 12 and both door people then laughed. I had my wallet open in anticipation of being carded. Door guy saw my law enforcement ID and said " I don't care if you save the next set of kids from a school Shooting your not getting in". We had an amazing time at VISTA celebrating my birthday this past Saturday! We had a group of 4, 2 women and 2 men and we got in without a problem. They do have a dress code that they strictly adhere to so I would definitely dress to impress to avoid any issues at the door. We talked to the bouncer earlier in the night and he recommended getting there at 9:30 to avoid a line which worked out well. There was no cover and they stamp your hand and are allowed reentry throughout the night. When we got in at 9:30 there wasn't a lot of people but by 10 the dance floor was crowded. The bar itself is beautiful and has a really cool vibe. They play a mix of new music and old classics. The drinks are strong and it was easy to get drinks at the bar. The crowd here is a little more mature, probably average age of the crowd was late 20s early 30s. Overall really fun spot to check out! read more

Honestly, I don't know why I hear people complain about this place so much and hype up Avalon. Have you guys BEEN in Avalon? It's like the 7th ring of hell...dark, deafening, completely crowded, hell. At Vista you get throwback music, stunning stained glass mountains, and a massive glowing planetarium ceiling. Obviously it's an older crowd, especially before midnight, but that doesn't take away from how fun it is for me personally. Especially if you go to the upper level, enjoy a couple of drinks and watch some of the dancing from above...I promise you will not be disappointed by the hilarity. And I mean that in the most judgement free way possible because I thoroughly enjoy it. Last time I was there I watched a group of grown men perfectly preform the whole dance from the dance battle in the movie White Chicks. It was truly spectacular. Just give Vista a chance if you want to enjoy some musical throwbacks that you didn't know you needed to dance to again. read more

It's been quite a while since I've dressed up to go to a club, wait at a bar for drinks and dance on a crowded floor. At my age, I like to sit at a bar, have someone bring drinks to me, and enjoy the elevator jazz music playing in the background. However, we went here for a friends birthday. We originally wanted to go to Avalon, but the thought of paying $20 just to get in was ridiculous. This place had no cover, wasn't super crowded, and there wasn't a long wait for a drink. The best part of this was the DJ. He mixed songs really well, and I knew every song on his playlist. We were also able to find seating so we could easily sit down when we needed a break. One of the best experiences I've had at a club. I'd definitely go back if it was the same DJ! read more

I love the atmosphere in this upscale lounge!! There is a full cigar menu as well as a specialty drink menu. If you prefer you may sit at the bar and watch the multiple tvs. Or choose a cozy spot on one of there sofas overlooking the casino with the stars above you. Beautiful design. Feel the under the stars scenery when you look up at the ceiling. The upstairs view and booth just as beautiful. Also nice touch on the black jack table and TV which showed the basketball game. I had starry night drink and it was tasty, the bartender said that it would be sweet and I said that was fine. Before we left we needed to use the restroom and they did not have it working which seems very inconvenient considering you are there drinking. I think this place is worth checking out, the dj was good that night but no one was dancing. People were just in their own little groups or dates, not a place to mingle if you're single. read more

Heads up, there's no coat check at the actual lounge so be sure to hit one of the coat checks on your way into the casino (you can't bring them into the lounge). Also, guys beware - some people weren't able to get in due to shoes or whatnot, so check the dress code before you go. I've never been more disappointed. Walk up at 1230 on a Thursday night after playing some stupid computer card game not knowing "no entrance" after 12. If that's the case say so upfront. I came down to Vista from Boston. I was a bouncer all throughout college, couldn't belive the bouncer wouldn't let us in the club. I had no interest in drinking... I came down to to Mogehan to dance. BUT sorry no dancing allowed if you're not in before midnight... Really? Rules like that at a casino. NEVER coming back to Mogehan again rather pay for the flight to Vegas. We were at the Vista Lounge on Saturday, October 10, 2018, at 5 pm. We had a group of 8 people and we decided to have drinks and appetizers while we waited for our dinner reservation at another restaurant. Ashley was our waitress and was very attentive is serving our beverages and appetizers to us. We were seated on the couches near the black jack tables. We decided to stay at the Vista Lounge rather than leave for dinner because we were having such a good time. A good time until - Ashley told us we had to leave because where we were seated was reserved. We had no idea that the couches were reserved. There were no signs on the table when we arrived and if there was a time that the table was reserved for we should have been told. Instead we were rudely told to leave and find another place to sit. Another place in a packed lounge on a Saturday night? Never mind that several of us were playing black jack, dancing and enjoying our beverages and appetizers. It was all a joke to Ashley and the management. Perhaps she felt that our tip on a sales receipt of $250.00 wasn't worth her time. read more

This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had as a potential customer. The bouncer of this lounge would not let my friends and I in because he said that it was too late for us to go in and no one could go in past 11. However, over the course of the night he continually let women with short skirts in. When I approached him why they could go in he said they were already in - which is a complete lie as I heard them saying "please" to be let in although they weren't allowed to let people in past 11. I've called multiple times to share my complaints in private but after not being contacted for months, I decided to post this here. I've had pretty good experiences every time I've gone to the Vista Lounge, and never encountered rude bouncers like other reviewers seem to have run into. There was a pretty standard ID check which no one I've ever gone with had any problems with, so it must be whoever happens to be on duty that night. The views inside are very cool with the faux-mountainous nighttime sky. The drinks are overpriced, but that happens pretty much anywhere you go inside Mohegan, so you might as well do it in a place with a cool view over the casino. read more

I've never been treated so poorly by such a high profile lounge. I have been to the Vista Lounge on more than a few occasions and I am appalled by the way I was treated by Joe at the door. I entered the facility from the first floor with no direction as to where to go (this was my first time entering from this level). When I arrived to the appropriate floor I wasn't even greeted - just told rudely to go to the back of the line and I'd be served when they could accommodate. I understand given the location of the facility that there can be a wait, but that doesn't excuse the awful behavior exemplified by the staff (namely Joe) working the door. But then the midget bouncer asked my wife to open her purse. She had a dasani water bottle that I paid a whopping $3.50 for at the casino. The midget bouncer told us we would have to dump it out. This rating is simply based on the Friday night DJ. Sucks. Has no clue how to keep the party going. He will play a good song and the floor will fill, then follows with a couple bad songs and people literally clear out. He doesn't take a hint and immediately change it up either. Poor DJ choice. As far as dress code, I read reviews that say they are strict....depends on who you know and who checks you in at the door. We have watched them reject one for tennis shoes, we head on in and immediately see three others that made it in with worse tennis shoes than the guy that just got turned away. They say "no shorts" yet Friday we counted five men inside twith shorts on. #doormenonapowertrip Update...we went back, and they had a new DJ last night (August 3rd). I must say this place surprised me! I have been here to get drinks before a concert or gambling but I did not know that this was the other "club" in the casino. Avalon was a $50 cover this past weekend so my friends and I decided to head over to Vista. Slight wait to get in (like 5min) prob because the guy at the door really looks through your purse before you go in and there was no cover. The atmosphere is so cool for a club. DJ was great and wasn't too hard to get drinks. I'm not a fan of the typical club scene but I thought this place was so fun, and I will definitely be back! read more

If you want to be discriminated against please, by all means go to this club in the lovely Mohegan sun. They pick and choose who they decide to let in, based on nothing other than the whims of the men working at the door. Sometimes a CT state issued id is not enough to get in, and they require two extra forms of identification, such as a credit card AND an additional bank card. So if you only bring one, or simply cash because you don't want to break your bank accounts at the casino you can't get in. Unless of course you're a group of girls who look about 15, and then they don't seem to have a problem letting you in. Also if you're a man wearing Clark's and dress pants and a button up work shirt they won't let you in because you're shoes aren't up to dress code even though the guys before you got in with sneakers on. I have been to Vista Lounge several times since it transitioned from Leffingwells and I have to say I don't believe it has been for the better. Mohegan Sun already had one nightclub, I don't know why they felt it nessessary to make another one in a place that clearly wasn't designed to be one. I enjoyed coming here when it was a place where you could grab a seat with a beautiful view of the surrounding area with friends, order some drinks, and have some laughs. The loud thumpin' beats of the (bad) dance music now have drowned that option out , and the drinks are more expensive now then before. The decor is pretty cool. It has two levels, the first of which is a story above the casino floor, so the second level gives you a commanding view. It is made of faux rocks which are lit from the inside. It is reminiscent of Superman's ice home, as if the glowing rocks sprouted out of the casino floor. There is a large dome above, which is convincingly lit to look like dusk, with stars shining. Unfortunately, other than the decor the place is a complete farce. It wants to be an elite, high end night club, but comes across like Denny's trying to be a 5 star restaurant. They have the unwelcoming scowling bouncer at the entrance part down, but that is about it. I'm not even sure why a bouncer is needed, it is in the middle of the casino floor. I guess they want to make sure the gauntlet of baffling, condescending, and horrible service starts upon entry. We scoped the place out and then went to the bar, where we were promptly ignored. There were 4 people at the bar who already had drinks, so the guy just sort of stood there in his too tight black t-shirt ignoring us, sending out his "everything and everyone here is clearly beneath me" vibe. Eventually Mr. T-shirt came over to let us know the bartender wasn't there, but would return shortly. Eventually a bartender came over to take our order. I ordered tequila on the rocks and my companion ordered a blue sky (vodka, malibu, blue curacao, pineapple juice, sprite). It was a staggering $36 for our order. So I guess they have the inflated price part of a high-end establishment down. Since the place was almost completely dead (there were also a few people at one of the tables, bringing the total patron count to 10 including us) we had our choice of where to sit. We seated ourselves in a large booth on the second floor overlooking the casino floor. It was quite a nice view. My companion took a drink and almost did a spit take. He stated his beverage was extremely strong and extremely nasty. I sampled his drink and had to agree. I sipped my drink and was more than a little surprised to taste sweetness and an overwhelming coconut flavor, as strait tequila generally tastes of neither coconut nor sugar. Apparently, pouring a shot of tequila into a glass was a little to much for an elite bartender at such a prestigious establishment to handle. I was served sprite and malibu, while my companion was served a cocktail comprised mostly of vodka and tequila. We were then charged almost $40 for these liquid nightmares. In the spirit of good fun and adventure my companion decided to brave this monster, like a knight of old battling a dragon. I however had no desire to drink sugared coconut, and asked for a replacement. The bartender was at least congenial enough to replace my drink. I thought it was odd though that there was no pouring device on the bottle, he just dumped it in. Little did we know that our Vibe adventure had not yet ended. We had a good laugh at our experience and settled in. As we were hanging out we noticed that they started tearing down the bar on the second floor. We thought they were just using the doldrums to do extra cleaning. Eventually all the liquor bottles disappeared. A hostess then came around and started collecting the fake candles that were on all the tables. We thought that this was odd but at this point we had been conditioned to be ready for anything here. We eventually finished our drinks and made to leave. As we walked down the stairs to the first floor of the club we amused to find the bottom of the stairs had been blocked off. They had closed the second floor and left us to rot. I suppose mentioning it to us would have violated their strict policy of baffling, condescending, and horrible service. So check it out, at least you will have an amusing story to tell about the time you went to this crazy bar. read more

I would have loved to enter inside the Vista Lounge because I have herd such fun things about it and the atmosphere seemed pretty cool. Unfortunately my friends and I were unable to enter because in the middle of checking our ID's the young bouncer saw a friend of his and proceeded to have a 5 minute conversation. After his 5 minute conversation he told his friend they could go ahead of us which was fine but then his friend brought 10 other people with him. Then when confronted about the situation the young gentlemen refused to let us enter and did not notice that his professionalism became unprofessional. I was really disappointed because I was looking forward to trying out the vista lounge but after not allowing myself and 5 of my friends inside we are no longer interested. read more
