Oooh... Parking spaces! Ironically, it's closed...

Thirsty? Tucked away on a quiet corner of Vista Street, off Slutty Maniac Boulevard in West Hollywood, lies a sleepy little liquor store that you might miss if you blink, or are already loaded. Vista is fast, easy, and stuck in the 1970s in terms of fashion, which could describe a lot of people, only this time the subject matter is a convenience store. -- And convenient, it is! Everything you need for that ritzy date you've got lined up: cigarettes, cigars, condoms, candy, random groceries (including cereal for breakfast tomorrow), magazines (both porn and porn-NOT-graphy), lottery tickets, soda, air freshener for your car -- you'll find it at Vista. CLASSY! The only thing that's somewhat inconvenient -- well, actually, two things -- about Vista is that it closes at 10pm on weekdays, and 9pm on weekends, which basically means you won't be making your late night lush runs here. Also, the parking lot is really small, so if other trollops... Er... upstanding young people like yourself have the same ideas at the same time, you'll be fighting for the two or three available parking spots on the awkward tarmac. -- Just park on the street, or across the lane at that massage parlor no one goes to. You'll be fine (until you get a ticket). Prices and quality of service? It's a liquor store. You get what you get. Which includes getting carded. Take it as a compliment, dear.

I still swing by this TJs location when in the area, typically when leaving my doctor's on the way home or an outing out nearby. From vegan pepperoni to succulent plants, vino, condiments, seasonal fun, fresh produce and more. Trader Joe's - B.G. has plenty for everybody. Their layout has improved over time and the service has almost always been good if not beyond great. The parking is 1 hour of freebieness, with a fairly organized in and out. After taking myself to the movies at the AMC I popped over for some post movie snacks and groceries for the house. Sadly in true TJs fashion they do rotate some things out (like those plant-based ronis), but have a lot of long standing staples like their Honey Moon Viognier,Garlic Sauce and 72% Cacao Dark Chocolate - three of my guilty pleasures. Being a preferred favorite of one of my favorite humans in the area (Sarah S.), I try to venture and try new items as well as buy myself flowers here, usually in the house plant variety :) Open 7 days a week from 9 to 9 in true T Joe's fashion, you'll easily want to make this everyday grocer of quality, practicalness, "neighborhoodness" and warmness (especially via their stellar customer service) a favorite of yours. We love you Trader Joe's!!

If you know TJ's, you love TJ's and you know what you like there. I love buying $3.99 flowers! I'm like Miley Cyrus and buy myself flowers to brighten my place up all the time. $2.99 Sea salt sprinkled brownie bites are the perfect chocoholic satiation. I like trying a Trader Joe's $3.99 mushroom risotto here, a $3.49 gnocchi cacio e pepe there, or some $3.99 pasta ravioli sweet corn. They always have fun pastas, carbs, sauces and frozen foods I like digging into. I basically act like it's 2009 and I'm with Fabulous just throwing it all in the bag - not lookin at the tags. Being open 9am to 9pm every day is great hours and always reliable. The parking lot is the only rough thing. It exists and it's awesome that you get 1 hour free parking! But I saw half the cars curb while entering or exiting the lot - weird design. Also, my parking ticket wouldn't scan when trying to scan out today & the attendant thankfully was able to assist. Many thanks to them but trying to charge me $32 was criminal lolz. I heart you foreva Trader Joe's.

Now I am finding out for myself that it is just as any other market where in this economy, it benefits for me to research online for sales and weekly ads. One of things I realized is that I was sleeping on their coffee bar! This Whole Foods is surrounded by many restaurants, trending eateries and coffee shops that it is easy to overlook what Whole Foods can offer. The staff working at the coffee and juice bar are amazing! My current favorite is the berry chantilly iced latte. The honey latte and the brown sugar cookie latte are both very good but the berry chantilly is my current favorite. It is strong, not-too-sweet and well made for $5 and that is for a large. You can also have alternative milk like almond or oat at no extra charge! The deli and bakery are also great but I have been getting their pizza slices for an inexpensive lunch. Where nearby pizza spots are selling their slices for $7-$8 a slice (which I get why it is priced that way), Whole Foods has them at the self serve area for one slice at $4.50 or 2 for $8. I work near the area and though I love that I am in foodie heaven, sometimes I just need something a bit more simple and reasonably priced. Whole Foods pizza can be artisanal just as any other pizzerias. This week, they had elote pizza and it reminds me of the viral elote pizza that was invented by Rose City Pizza. It is pretty good and definitely closer to me than Covina.
