I got the 2 meat plate & my wife got the 1 meat plate and even without a drink the total came out to almost $40, which for the portions & quality we got just didn't seem worth it. The brisket quality wasn't the best, as I had solid white edges of just pure fat which I get is a thing with moist cuts but generally there's still a nice char to the edge and this was just solid fat. The sides were also pretty bad; my wife's maccaroni & cheese was cold and my cheesy bacon and potato had like a solid inch of oil that they were sitting in. The family pack on the menu looks appealing. 1-1/2 pound of meat, 3 quart side orders the fixings (bread,onions,pickles and BBQ sauce). We selected jalapeño sausage, brisket and pork ribs with potato salad, green beans and cole slaw. The jalapeño sausage was good along with the other meat. Moist and full of flavor! Pork rib meat fell clean off the bone. I also ordered a brisket sandwich and chopped sandwich. Man! The chopped sandwich was so good. Chopped is 80% brisket with turkey and pork loin covered in their BBQ sauce. The brisket sandwich was moist and delicious. I ate it with their BBQ sauce since they put it on the side. Yum. The green beans, potato salad and cole slaw was great! I have some hard critics here, but they enjoyed it. The cutter chose to give me a blob of 90% fat. The sauce is pretty good, a little sweet for my taste. All in all, I was disappointed in the portions. Almost $30 for a handful of meat, basically. I ordered a sliced turkey sandwich with greens beans and added an extra side of coleslaw. I upgraded the drink to a large! I was provided some sliced pickles and onions in plastic bags to put on my sandwich. The bbq sauce is served in little plastic cups. The sauce is very good! The breakdown: 1. The sliced turkey was moist, delicious, with a good smoke flavor! 2. The green beans were tasty and creamy coleslaw was crunchy. The coleslaw didn't have a strong flavor but was refreshing. 3. The sweet tea is right on point and perfectly sweetened! 4. The bummer was the bun for my sandwich was slightly stale and was just a regular hamburger type bun! I wish they had homemade or a good quality bun! 5. The second bummer is they have no pulled pork! They have porn loin. Overall, this is good average Texas bbq! Two stars for the fast and friendly service. The sandwich was mid at best, the only thing that separates it from gas station bbq is the amount of meat they put on it. All in all basic. The Mac and cheese was inedible and I considered driving back to complain. I could try to write something interesting or clever to describe it but I can't at the moment. Monday 9/25/23 dinner time - Bought the 2 meat w/sides meal at the Hwy 620 location. Took it home to eat and the sides were wrong so we took it back. Walked back into the store, showed the receipt and the cashier didn't say a word, just stared at us. We explained that we'd received the wrong sides so the cashier, still not saying a word, takes the sides and slams them down into the trash. Then he goes back to the kitchen and gets the correct sides, brings them up and hands them to us. Doesn't say a single word, no apology, not even a "have a nice evening", nothing but a glare. Got home and weighed the brisket and then the sausage, each one was slightly under the #1lb we paid for. Terrible service, ridiculously bad attitudes. read more
