Phil the owner was friendly and easy to work with. My installation required HOA approval, and Phil helped to fill out all questionnaires and provided samples. He and his staff were responsive and professional. On installation day, his guys showed up on time and finished the installation within scheduled time. The screen for my patio door was damaged, and I texted Phil immediately and told him that I needed the screen as soon as possible because I couldn't have the patio door open without it. Phil was able to get a replacement and sent his guy back on the same day to finish the job. Had our windows done in 2010 by Vista. One particular window continues to leak. We've called them out a few times to fix the problem, and they've attempted to fix it and it still continues to leak. The one star is really more for the lack of follow through. Arriving 45 minutes to an hour or more late without so much as a phone call, me needing to call them to get an estimated arrival time only to have slow or no response to texts or voicemail messages---my confidence in this company is eroded. I had my windows done last year in July, yes they look nice but it seems I can still hear everything from the outside even when my windows are closed. Thought Phil was suppose to come after the work was done and look at the Windows never did. Then there was a hole in one of the screens of course after they left I called the company they said "well they wouldn't be able to fix it now they would put in a order" ok fine. Wait for over a month walk out of my front door one morning and someone just drop it off and left it on my porch never a knock or here let me replace since it took so long to replace it. I don't want to rate too low as this was my experience with trying to get an estimate from Phil and Olga - so not the actual booking or product or installation/ clean up experience. But I was pretty disappointed with Phil coming late to our initial appointment and not calling ahead of time. Then getting the quote late and it being inaccurate... And then since he was too busy, Olga talked to me about what I wanted. She initially wasn't sure about the cost difference in product when I inquired but later in email, stated that apparently there was a big difference and the numbers really weren't good at that point. We had a door to window conversion job in our guestroom and had 2 more windows replaced as well by Vista Window. Sergio and Jose did a great job creating the new wall and installing the new windows to match our existing exterior looks. The entire job was finished and cleanly done in one day. I got 5 other quotes before calling Vista (they did a friends house). I called Vista last because we are both in Monrovia, my friend was happy with the service provided by Vista so I had a bias. There price was so reasonable that it was a go from the start. They did an upstairs sliding glass door that had been leaking every rain for the last 20 years. I was so happy with the results (no leaking since) i had them come back and do another sliding glass door. The new sliding glass doors keep the rooms cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. We live in a house that was built in 1948. Its got old casement windows and in the Summer it gets really hot inside and in the Winter it gets really cold. Been wanting to update them for years. I went straight to Yelp because I wanted to read first hand experiences from other consumers. I did a search for "Windows Replacement" for my city and contacted the first 6 that popped up. Only Phil at Vista Windows and Mark at Pasadena Window Supply (and one more) contacted me back and showed sincere interest in getting my business. The others never answered their phones, returned my message, or told me to email them my window measurements (which I did to 4 of them) and still never responded back. I even went through and read every SINGLE entry on each of their reviews just to be absolutely sure I wasn't making a mistake by not giving them the benefit of the doubt. I always comb thru the bad reviews first to see if they're legit bad reviews or lame ones because the one who wrote it was an idiot or a fake. The reviews about the meathead installers and the Russian Mafia bashing in the glass, sealed the deal for me. I didn't want any of that crap at my house. I chose Vista because their price edged out the others, multiple glowing reviews, and the timeframe in getting it done was good with me. Vista's website with it's breakdown of it's crew helped also. It put a face to the crew who would come out and do the work. Now that the windows have been installed for about a month, we've been VERY happy. Street noise has been reduced greatly, and the indoor temperature has relatively been the same, unlike before when it would get ridiculously hot in the Summer. I notice a huge difference in the home temperature fluctuations (or lack of it) after the windows have been installed. Phil, Frank and their crew were very professional. They and their team take their craft seriously. One of their guys wasn't happy with some work he did in the big living room window (although I was fine with it), the next day he re-did it and made it look even better. You can tell these guys want to be proud of the work they do, I would hire them again in a heartbeart. In speaking with Phil, I never once felt any pressure to buy more than I wanted, nor any upsell. However, the lack of response to questions and delayed installation did not match the actual workmanship. Our trust has two commercial buildings with over 100 old windows. I used Vista Windows for 12 replacement windows in three stages. I kept thinking the delay in response was an anomaly, but it never got better. I felt as if my business didn't matter. Simple follow up is not brain science. Either VW was working on everyone else's windows while working on my building or the yelp ratings are not accurate. I used to have single pane windows, and they didn't protect me from the extreme heat weather during summer. Ever since I changed the windows, I notice the difference. I just had our front 2 windows of our house replaced and I wanted to commend Jose & Leo for their amazing work! Please thank them for me again. Because our old windows were original to the house and were built into the frame, they had a lot more work cut out for them then they originally thought. They ended up staying for 3.5+ hours. They did an amazing job and kept me in the loop the entire time. I also loved how they cleaned the windows after they were installed and cleaned off my porch with a vacuum and cleaned my front door which was dusty too. They also covered our furniture in the room with a drop cloth and at the end vacuumed the room. It really made my job a lot easier for the clean up part. This are the most reputable business of this sort in the San Gabriel Valley (California). Their product (windows) is as advertised and their installation is "spot-on." In other words, the did the work extremely well, left no "mess" and helped with minor adjustments related to the window installation. We are, however, waiting for the screens--apparently a "mix-up" with the fabricator. The delay (ten days or so) is not important. Mark, one of Vista's office folk, was very helpful and kept us up to date (no lying--just straight talk).
