I really don't understand the high rating on this company. Maybe they are just too busy to even bother replying. As a business, I think it's just good practice to at least reply texts or emails. Even a message stating that we will get back to you would suffice. I have gone to get a quote for a patio door from this company. The woman that helped me gave me her cell phone # and an email so that's where I've been following up. I got a message 2 weeks ago saying that she will get back to me. Fast forward 2 weeks later, I have not gotten any reply. I have also called and same thing, no reply. Mind you, I am ready to replace the door. I do not recommend this business at all. I ordered a sliding windowr for over the kitchen sink and the wrong window came in. And he said that's what I ordered when I know I did not order because he recommended a sliding window for me. He said it would be easier for me to open that way. .he just coded it incorrectly on his order slip. He made a mistake and I'm paying for it.I said fine I'll take it because he wouldn't take it back. I also bought a back door and had it installed. The back door was installed incorrectly. I did not realize that it was installed incorrectly until I had construction work done in our kitchen and they told us that it was inside out. What kind of business does this?The hinges are on the outside and the door is leaning it's getting stuck when I open it it's terribleWe've called him to come and fix it The door doesn't close right we have to pull it shutand they won't they said it's been too long.And he's there in the business of windows and doors. It's horrible. I ordered windows for the whole front of the house and he said he would give us a discount for the back window since he gave us the wrong window for the sink. I have to say after all the good reviews and my neighbors recommendation I had high hope but sadly I was very disappointed with the lack of follow through from this company. First I was told I would receive a quote on Monday 2/15 after a Friday measurement. Well I never received anything and had to call the office twice to inquire and did not receive until three days later. Second, the quote did not provide me with any information about the type of window I had to call yet again. Third, when I did receive a follow up call last week I asked for a quote on another brand and I was told i would have by end of day. As of today I still have yet to receive. As I stated earlier, very disappointing. As a local girl I am a big supporter of local family owned businesses. Sad to say they lost this customer to another local business. Our 70 year old house had its original windows, which were falling apart, unopen-able and just a mess. We got a quote from Vista windows as well as a few other places in the area. At our meeting Phil from Vista described in great detail how the work would be done, and yep, it was done exactly how he described. Vista's quote was a little higher than the other company we talked to of comparable status, but I then I realized that that other company was not going to be using foam insulation around the window as Vista would be doing (this is something that we researched online and found that a lot of people cut corners on). Also when I told Phil we wanted to work with his company he was flexible and helpful working within our budget. Anyway, the team came at 9:00 AM and were out the door by 3:00, with shiny new beautiful secure low-e windows and screens in place, all 18 of them. We are secure knowing that if anything goes wrong we can call the company and they will come and fix it immediately (not that we're expecting anything to go wrong). There isn't anything negative I can say about Phil and his team. My husbands co-workers recommended Vista Windows Mfg so we contacted them. Phil personally came out and did all the measurements. He was very polite and thorough. He wasn't a typical sales guy wanting to sell you top dollar products. By the end of the day I had received the estimate. We have 11 windows and the estimate came out to what I had expected. We decided to move forward and Phil came out again to completely measure everything. Two weeks later our windows were installed. Omar and his team were fast, clean, and overall nice guys. They showed up on time and were gone before we expected. Every time I come home and see my windows I am so happy. We live along a freeway and when the windows are closed, you can't hear it. Got windows through the SoCal Gas company few years back. Until today, I still find broken glasses in my yard and around the house. Screens used were very cheap quality, some already ripped. Would be nice for this company to call to follow up on how was the window so far but no follow up calls. It was until the company that partnered with SoCal gas company called about 4 months ago to follow up and I had expressed of the poor window installation and quality that prompted this company to come out to inspect which didn't happen until few weeks. It was a journey looking for a reliable and honest company to replace all the windows in our little old house (over 55 years old). After all, it is quite an investment to pay for all those windows. As an old fashion Chinese, my mom first suggested getting a quote from a Chinese company. However, I was reading an advertisement in a city magazine and decided to call Philip, owner of Vista Windows. Philip came to our home twice personally with pictures and various samples, so we could see the actual products in real time. He would arrive 5-10 minutes ahead of the appointment and waited outside until the set time. He explained everything so clearly to the point that my mom could understand. Furthermore, he was more than willing to work with us to make the final cost affordable. We did try to get another quote from a well known local Chinese company, just to satisfy our curiosity. Not only the salesman was 1.5 hours late, he did not bring any picture or samples for us to see (he told us to go to their showroom to see the actual product). Yes, their price was a bit lower but after seeing their products in their showroom, we decided to hire Philip immediately. Philip's team was not only professional but very friendly and nice. They finished everything on time. In fact, all of us was so satisfied to the point that we would hire them again and again. Throughout this journey, Philip and we maintained very good communication. When cutting down one of my windows to bring it up to code, one stood with a vacuum while the other person worked on cut down the area with a saw. I had no mess in my house or yard. Our house is about 100 year old. We had replaced all of the windows maybe 20 years ago when we moved in. But some started to show issue I need to replace South facing wall this time, so we started to contact a couple of place to get quote. I have to say working with Steven, Phil and Olga at Vista window - they were very efficient. One thing about working with local business is, they know the area and they take care of your business. I really appreciate they keep their promise, like if they say they will call you back in 10min they did and the installer will show up at 9am and they did. Customer Service, price, and installation was more than satisfactory-it was excellent. Phil and his installers made certain that our large, complex and difficult to install windows would be done correctly. They returned to double-check their measurements before installation and the result was a perfect job. My suggestion would be to go local. I really wanted to write a nice review for Vista Windows - like those in which I read had a great experience in dealing with them on here. However, I write this review now because of the experience we had in what, one would think, would be a straight-forward, easy job. This review should also be prefaced with believing in supporting local businesses first and being an avid Yelp recommendations advocate myself. We first found Vista Windows by coming here - to Yelp. We had received a couple mailers being new residents to the area and thought: "Hey, if they're local, fit our budget, AND have stellar reviews, how could it go wrong?" Everything started out great. We had baby on the way in a month and wanted to sound-proof our upstairs master bedroom - 2 windows. Phil (Owner) came out, was punctual, and provided a thorough explanation of what the job would entail. He stated the bid would go out later that day. It did not, wrong email, but no biggie - which in hindsight was the red flag to the thing. Called a couple days after and was able to get it sent over. After dealing with this, we thought again "They're on it! Everything makes sense, let's do it" and decided to go with Vista. In hind sight, being naive, and trusting, was the worst thing we could've done. ALWAYS get multiple bids, ask around, find out what options you have, and don't ever decide quickly on something that takes an installation and effects your home. SHAME ON US for being new homeowners and not recognizing this earlier on then we did. Phil promised we'd get things e.g. bids on window treatments, etc. which we never received. Bid was basic and we expected it to be "top of the line" in regards to a sound dampening solution. Simple things that you would think "Isn't this kinda what you do?" that weren't delivered on or followed up with on their part. Not sure if it was just the fact that we were 2 windows and not a big priority for them or whatever, but when you're looking to do two windows with sound-proofing, it's also not cheap either - and we have many more windows that we'd be doing in the future. They told us two weeks for the windows to come in. Around this time our son was born - throwing everything to lowest priority. It was not two weeks per quote, but rather 4 - which ended up working out for us better with the birth anyways = wash. Installer shows up late, no biggie again, we carved out a nice personal window and were home already because of baby. Installer - who I was told by Phil was one of their "best" - doesn't care about any of the yard, smashes plants, gets dirt smudges all over the sides of the windows, etc. Again, thinking "no biggie", we can wash, we can replace plants, we just can't wait for it to knock down the noise more and HEAR the difference ourselves. Windows go in, my wife and I (that night) talk/think: "There isn't really much of a change... This is weird?!" Around this time our neighbor - who also had his windows replaced a few months earlier before we moved in - tells us about their story. He gleans, says it's the best thing they've done to their place, etc. He proceeds to let me listen and see the difference which I AM STUNNED at the drastic difference between the two products in a similarly installed environment - same construction of townhouse, year, location, etc. Also shortly after the install a new window installation company opens up down the street from my work. I go in, ask a few questions, and get a response that still to this day hurts my insides. The bid was half the price and for even better designed windows from a company in Burbank (miles away from Monrovia) - which come to find out are not offered by Vista - higher rated and as I learned a better quality brand for this. I call Phil to tell him all of this. He is short with me on the phone. Very defensive and makes me feel like it was my fault for my decision to go with them after simply just educating myself more, but he does offer to come by and check out the job and discuss with us our options - maybe we buy these other (higher rated) windows, but they do the install, etc. No call. No show. Still - months after as I write this review. Again, not sure why we were treated like this by a local company, but it makes me really question the validity and truth behind their business practices. Yes, we should've been smarter about the whole thing from the beginning and gone with our gut, asked around more, and not gone with the first company I found on Yelp. But now I write this in the hopes that whoever may read this knows that there are other options that might be better suited for them, and just because a company puts a lot of emphasis on Yelp reviews, coupon mailers, and "branding" doesn't make them a good company that delivers on time and acknowledges their customers. Vista Window in no way showed this to our home and we would never recommend them to anyone. read more
