I found Bear Windows and Doors by reaching out to local window replacement companies on Yelp through their multi-vendor messaging platform. Jesse from Bear reached out right away via text. Unfortunately, I had a random vandalism incident in which a second story bedroom window was smashed with a wrench. Jesse was able to look at the photos and let me know that this was not a good fit for us to work together as it was not a full window replacement. However, that didn't stop him from sharing knowledge with me to help me get my problem resolved. As I don't deal with 'window replacements' (my words) very often I was having trouble describing that I wanted to window casing replaced as well and kept calling it a "frame" (probably why my messages with other vendors were also not going so well, ha). However, Jesse still took the time to go back and forth with me until he understood what I was describing then let me know this job was a "glass replacement" and the part I was describing was a "glazing bead". I thanked him and thought that would be it. So I went on my way looking for those who do glass replacement via Yelp which then recommended that I update my inquiry. Well, first thing the next morning, Jesse saw my update and reached back out to me with further recommendations on getting my problem resolved (even though he was already helpful and we agreed it wasn't the right fit between us). -- People helping people with nothing to gain, what a crazy thought! Anyway, I still haven't resolved the issue as it this all happened outside of normal business hours, but I'm positive that Jesse has saved me a lot of time and frustration by sharing his knowledge with me when he didn't have to. While we're not working together on this particular project, I always look for the kinds of people and businesses that I would like to do business with - and it's this type of care about their craft and care for others that deserved a shout out. Part 1: Was browsing Facebook at around 9:00PM and came across United Windows/Bear Windows. Although I had already received 4 estimates from previous window dealers I had previously interviewed, I decided to move forward anyways and complete the online information appointment request. Wow within 5 minutes I received a message from United/Bear about my inquiry and requesting additional information regarding my window project. The person was a live person and not AI. I was not expecting a call that promptly but it was absolutely welcomed as I am looking to install new windows soon. Our interaction was very professional and cordial. When asked I requested an appointment the next morning as I had limited time availability for the week. I was informed that Joey Carlin would be calling me in a moment to schedule a time. And yup Joey was on the line calling. Spoke with Joey and I could not believe that I was accommodated with a 2:00PM appointment time the next day. What outstanding customer service! And Joey was just as courteous and professional as Jesse whom Joey informed me that Jesse, one of the owners, was the person who originally messaged me. I mentioned to Joey that if he was able to make it earlier then I would be open to that. He stated that he would text me if he could and when he was on his way. Well appointment was set and the next day I received a text from Joey informing me that he could come earlier at 1:30PM for our appointment. Fantastic! At 1:30PM Joey drove up right on time. During our appointment Joey was extremely personable and informative about his products and the installation process. I asked every question I could think of from what I learned during my other estimates of the other window dealers. Joey was very knowledgeable and answered every question satisfactory. During our interaction I never felt like I was getting a sales pitch but more of a presentation and an education. Since I live close to the manufacturing show room, Joey even offered to set a visitation time for me to tour the company and see the process with Jesse one of the owners which I did take him up on his offer and will be attend the next morning. After all my questions were answered Joey showed me an estimate based on exactly what we discussed and stated that if I had any question about the estimate after I had time to review it then I could always call him with questions. He said that he might be able to arrange his schedule to meet me at the plant with Jesse the next morning if I wanted which was more customer service then I had experienced from other dealers. But I told him it was appreciated but meeting Jesse would be enough. I can tell you that their was absolutely no pressure to make a buying decision on the spot nor to sign on the dotted line. Joey additionally informed me of their financing options should I want to finance my window project. This was an absolute stressless no pressure educational experience that made this process a pleasant experience. Joey and I even had conversations about family and other topics witch had nothing to do with the selling process. And he was sincere about the conversations and not just making small talk. Joey was very professional, friendly, not stuff, educational, informative. I will write Part 2 of my review once I tour the manufacturing plant, my interaction and my decision in a few days. But I can tell you at this point given the interaction with Jesse and Joey, the product quality I had seen and the estimate price, it's almost a no brainer. Good morning, friends. So I recently had a company, @bearwindows, install windows at my home. I thought that by using a professional company to complete this project, I would save myself from a headache. Oh, I was so wrong! As my family and friends know, I am used to completing my own home projects. I'm sure if I had taken the task of replacing the windows, I'd have gotten it done. But I didn't feel like taking on such a task. That's where Bear Windows comes in. I wasn't home when the windows were installed. The first issue was that they installed a smaller sliding door than the original. Their excuse was that my size was not common. I'm thinking, when they come out to measure windows and doors, they have those measurements to build them to fit. At least that is what one would expect for the amount of money you're paying. Then, once I got home, I noticed all the window seals were damaged, with plastic shavings inside and outside the house. Unprofessional to the last drop. I spoke with customer service, due to a window they had to come out and repair, and made them aware of the situation. The representative stated the technician that was coming out to repair the window would inspect and report back to them. I have yet to hear from them. Now I have to repair it myself. I know if I were to call a company to repair the damages, it would cost me more than I want to spend. I hope people take this story and learn from my mistake and not use this company for any project. Bear Windows just finished a retrofit window and sliding door installion for me yesterday. Amazing! The product is superb. Very high quality. So much better than I expected. The extrusions are considerably heavier and better constructed than any other company that I looked at. I was also able to get Solid Black Extrusions (frames). They are so much more bold looking than the standard white retrofit vinyl windows. The price was fair. Especially considering the quality of the product and workmanship. The entire process could not have gone smoother. Martin, my sales rep was knowledgeable, no pressure and very accurate in providing both initial sales, sample mock-up corner extrusion and follow-up. The installers were very good! Their work was clean and they did not make a mess at all. I was expecting to have to cover everything. My beds, furniture, rugs, all of it. I didn't need to cover anything. The installer covered my beds with plastic. Though they probably didn't need to. They put a drop cloth on the floor under the area they were working. The old windows were extracted from the outside so there was very little mess inside. I think my grandson gets more crumbs on the floor than the drop cloths picked up. After each window was completed, they carefully rolled up the drop and took it outside to shake it out. Each opening was cleaned well after the extraction. The windows were installed and foamed in once installed. Their final caulking beads were perfect! They were, clean, polite, respectful of my property and their attention to detail and personal commitment to do a perfect job was evident from every move they made. I had Eight Large Windows and One Very Large Sliding Glass Door changed out. The sliding door even had its own built in doggie door. It was built into the slider. I don't need to use that little flimsy doggie door insert that I had before and that most people are forced to get. It makes that door completely secure now. To help qualify my review, I am a retired Glazing and General Contractor. I worked personally in the trades for 45 years and owned a Union Shop. My experience with Bear Windows could not have been better. They far exceeded my expectation's. I absolutely respect them as a company and strongly recommend them to anyone looking to replace their existing windows and doors. read more

Before posting this review I wanted to experience the first full day of having the new windows. Today the temperature reached into the 90s. With the new windows I did not feel the heat as I had in the past with the old windows. The outside noise was significantly less than the old windows. I'm completely satisfied with the Bear windows. If you're in a rush and need windows look elsewhere. They claim to be a manufacturer but are fishy with their response as to if they actually make them themselves. I asked for the price on 10 windows and I got ignored because of my location but I mentioned I could pick up and they didn't respond which does tell me they're just installers not manufacturers. I got in touch with them on Thursday to get a quote and Michele didn't get back to me. I called them asking to get a quote and a female said they would call me back on Monday. They are disorganized and unwilling to help. I'm sure you'd get better service elsewhere. read more
