Our waiter, Antonio, was an absolute delight and took great care of us! Fair warning: this place gets PACKED, so be prepared for a wait. One thing I really appreciated, though, was that as soon as our food was ready, they brought it out. Everything arrived HOT and fresh. They start you off with antipasto and garlic bread, and both were SO good. But consider yourself warned pace yourself. We made the rookie mistake of going in a little too hard and were already getting full before our entrées arrived. I mean... you can't go to the Lobster House and not get lobster. I ordered the $49.95 Lobster Clam Bake Special, which came with Maine lobster, mussels, baked clams, corn, clam chowder and dessert. Everything tasted fresh, the portions were generous, and for everything included, I thought it was a great value. My boyfriend ordered the grilled Norwegian salmon, and honestly, his was REALLY good too. Now, if you love garlic like I do, GET THE NOODLES. The linguine in that garlicky olive oil sauce was one of my favorite things on the table. My only miss was the clam chowder. Mine had a lot of potatoes and barely any clams, so I would've liked a much better clam-to-potato ratio. The ice cream cake roll that came with my special, was rich and decadent. Definitely a good way to end the meal. Overall, fresh seafood, generous portions, hot food, great value and wonderful service from Antonio. We will absolutely be back!

Beyond the food, Archie's also has one of the best Scotch and whiskey (bourbon and rye included) selections anywhere in the area. It feels curated by people who genuinely care about food and drink, not just running another restaurant. We eat there often, especially for brunch, which is spectacular and consistently better than it has any right to be for a neighborhood spot on City Island. The best example of the attention to detail was the chopped cheese sandwich special. When it arrived, my first thought was: "How is anyone supposed to eat this giant thing?" But then you take a bite and realize the bread was custom made specifically for the sandwich. Somehow it completely melts in your mouth along with the meat and cheese, making this enormous sandwich unexpectedly delicate and perfectly balanced. It's the kind of detail most restaurants would never even think about. Archie's is a true hidden gem and proof that truly exceptional food can exist in places you wouldn't expect.

We went with the Sammy's Broiled Combination and the Piri Piri shrimp appetizer sized. But before we even ordered, they dropped 3 types of bread with pickled vegetables. We are basically full better the food even arrived. Our waiter was swamped. They were definitely understaffed for a Friday afternoon unfortunately. That said, the food was good overall. We won't necessarily be back to City Island anytime soon but if you're here, Sammy's isn't a bad choice.

Sharing my recent experience at Vistamar, and I must express some concerns that I hope you will address for the benefit of your patrons. The primary reason for choosing Vistamar was the desire to enjoy both the dining experience and the entertainment area. Regrettably, upon arrival, our group was disappointed to learn that that we were unable to choose the entertainment area as intended. Clear communication or an option to reserve this area would greatly enhance the overall customer experience. Moreover, during my visit, there were noticeable service issues that impacted the enjoyment of the evening. Didn't even know who the watier was and he hardly came back ot take care of our group of 18. The lack of inquiry about smoking preferences, the absence of an open bar for drinks, and slow service without any offers for water or additional beverages were aspects that stood out negatively. Asked for a diet coke and it took three times to ask and recieving it an hour later. Furthermore, the restaurant did not appear to be kid-friendly, and the absence of English music and all the music was in Spanish did not allow for this ot be an inclusive. This contributed to an environment that didn't align with the expectations. Additionally, the quality of the kids' pizza fell short of expectations, resembling the type of pizza found in a school cafeteria rather than meeting the standards one would anticipate from a restaurant like Vistamar. read more

I recently visited this restaurant to celebrate my mother's birthday and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was warm, the food was excellent, and the music added a special touch to the evening. It left such a great impression that I decided to consider this place for an upcoming event. Unfortunately, my experience trying to plan that event was disappointing. I initially reached out by email, or even by calling at the restaurant's phone number but never received a response. Hoping for better communication in person, I visited the restaurant to speak with someone directly. After being told that the owner would meet with us, we waited over 20 minutes with no update or acknowledgment. A staff member mentioned they would "take care of us," but no one followed through. It's confusing and frustrating to see event planning services advertised when there appears to be no clear process or commitment to assist potential clients. I genuinely loved my first visit, and I believe this place has a lot to offer--but the lack of communication and professionalism around event coordination was a letdown. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works on improving the customer experience for future guests. read more

Do you like being frisked at the door? Screaming at the top of your lungs to speak to your friends or family at the table over stadium speakers blaring whatever the DJ thinks he wants the diners to hear? How about a decor that reminds you of a High School prom-meets-nightclub? Wait staff were nice, but the floor management was rude and had all the professional polish of Correction Officers, which I believe was the last career these people had. I get why this place is popular; Kids' birthdays, graduation parties, or first dates for young ladies dating men who just..uh.."graduated" from a different kind of institution, and of course, the brunch crowd. This restaurant has an impressive view by the water, but the view and reasons why people go here aside, I was disappointed with the seafood that tasted like it was frozen, lack of sides with your entre that makes no sense (why mashed potatoes, yet no baked potatoes?), and you can't get a steamed lobster, yet they serve steamed crab legs. I can see that they are trying to go for this place to be an experience rather than actual dining, but this place is not for you if you've actually eaten at real restaurants. OMG! I don't know where to start! If you haven't been here, make it a MUST GO TO! My husband and I frequent this restaurant, they treat us like family. There has not EVER been a time where the greeting of high expectations were never met. The ambiance, the staff's hospitality are overwhelming and their spirits are always on ten! The food is delicious! The bar area is "sports bar" vibe and comfortable, drinks are made with love(Alicia, the bartender so pretty and delightful all the time we visit). Make sure you ask for Kwame to assist you with your event planning needs as his spirit and energy is so welcoming. The cocktails and the atmosphere are almost unbeatable! However the food left a little too much to be desired. I had the skirt steak which was not very hot, and came rolled up into a ball for some reason? The appetizers had a few highlights such as the crab cake. My mother in law originally ordered the lamb then was informed by our server almost 30 min later they were out. We did end up having a GREAT time though, just because of the show that was put on by the dancers and singers, as well as their delicious cocktails. I had a fantastic birthday dinner at Vistamar! My server, Chris, was attentive and provided excellent service, ensuring that drinks arrived promptly. The manager, Carla, did a great job overseeing everything and making sure the evening went smoothly. The cocktails were delicious. I especially enjoyed my Old Fashioned. I booked a reservation for my birthday last week and I was extremely disappointed with the customer service. Dianaris was our server, she was not welcoming at all. Her dry personality turned my stomach. My party felt rushed to order and she kept asking us to reconfirm our reservations amount, which was very sad because one of the bday other bday girls family never made it. The biggest reason I keep returning, though, is JAVI WEST behind the bar. He's friendly, attentive, and genuinely knows how to make guests feel welcome. Whether it's recommending a drink, remembering returning customers, or just keeping the energy upbeat, he always delivers excellent service. You can tell he takes pride in what he does, and it really adds to the overall experience. Great food, great vibe, and exceptional bartending from Javi. If you're stopping by Pine, definitely grab a seat at the bar. You won't be disappointed.

A host sat our group of three down and was very accommodating. It took a little while for them to take our drink orders, but it seemed like they were overwhelmed so it was understandable. The spicy margaritas were solid, but the lychee martini and raspberry lemon drop were not the best. We also wanted to order food and were told it would be about an hour wait. If I'm drinking, I definitely want to eat, so I asked if there was anything that could come out quicker for us to munch on. About halfway through the wait it seemed like they didn't have guac and chips, so they brought bread and butter out to a few tables. I guess that was their way of giving people something to snack on while waiting. Right before our dishes came out, one of the waitresses had us pay for what we ordered with her (a couple of waitresses were helping us). I thought that was a little tacky, she could've waited until we were done or combined the tabs since we were at the same table the whole time, not sure if that was possible. Anyways, the food was decent. We had the chicken tacos, nachos, and chicken chunks. I will say they play good music and had all the games people wanted to watch on. It seems like they need to work on being a little more organized and staying calm under pressure, but they have potential.

Both were crispy and very tasty. We also had raspberry lemon drops which were presented beautifully. Well balanced, not too strong or sweet. The pineapple margarita was too sweet for me. We moved on the nachos w/ beef and a Beyond Burger for our entrees. Both were ok... once we received our check we noticed we weren't charged for a Beyond Burger but a Cheeseburger. That is a very dangerous mistake.... Luckily my BF prefers veggie patties and doesn't have any type of allergy, intolerance or religious reasoning behind it. Not sure how that was misconstrued but that mistake leads down a very slippery slope for people with any type of allergies & intolerance.
