They did a beautiful job creating exactly what we wanted and they also have candles that they are able to provide so we didn't have to use a secondary vendor for that. Their prices were very reasonable and they were so easy to work with. I was requesting a few changes up until a few weeks out and they accommodated everything. What I loved about this place is that they made sure to work with our budgetary needs - to a tee. I was so concerned that the flower and decor budget was going to get out of hand, due to seeing estimates at other floral shops elsewhere. But Donna was very respectful and still let us dream right along with her for what we wanted on our wedding day. The first thing I noticed when I entered the bridal suite on the day of the wedding were the bridesmaids' bouquets. They were just how we had imagined them! My matron of honor then showed me where my bridal bouquet was, and again, it seemed to come right off the pages of our first approved sketches. My groom also looked dashing with his boutonniere, as did the groomsmen and honored family members. The rest of the evening was just a repeat of this. Nothing too extravagant, but lovely all the same. Our wedding's colors were definitely the focal point at the wedding, and the decor was a nice touch to showcase them - elegant but simple. We were glad we chose them to stylize our wedding. What we would have liked was more day-of communication. I would have loved to thank them personally before the end of the evening, but was not able to get that chance. read more

Pictures online were great, but the bouquet I ordered and had delivered didn't look the the one I picked out online. I also understand that certain flowers may not be in season but The Glory arrangement I picked looked like more leaves than flowers. There was 1 rose. Not worth $85 I spent. read more

Beautiful work! We came across Visual Lyrics while attending an open house at our wedding venue. We scheduled a private meeting to discuss details and they brought our vision to life! Unfortunately due to the pandemic, we had to push our big day to 2021 but we recently had a small ceremony and they provided us with our boutonnieres and flower girl halos. I used Visual Lyrics for my April 2016 wedding. I met with A LOT of florists and Visual Lyrics prices were reasonable and their portfolio was gorgeous, so I went with them. I DIY-ed my centerpieces and do not regret that decision at all. Visual Lyrics took care of my bridal bouquets and decorated the archway at my ceremony site as well as provided a cupcake stand as a rental piece. Their work is honestly amazing. Everyone commented on how beautiful the bouquets were. The only reason they do not get 5 stars is because they really are disorganized and not good with communication which was the cause of much anxiety for me leading up to the wedding. So much so that I was preparing myself for them not to show up...or to bring the wrong arrangements. On multiple occasions, they would send me the wrong invoice. Eventually everything got worked out, but they would often go weeks before replying to my emails. If communication is a top priority for you, you may want to re-think them. However, I will say they are good at what they do...flowers. Perhaps they should consider hiring an administrative assistant to help where they are lacking (email replies and paperwork). read more

I used Visual Lyrics for my wedding in 2008 and I'm surprised to be the first reviewer here. They were one of my best vendors. Work quality and service are both outstanding. Quality: These folks are true artists who can create atmosphere and mood with their floral medium. Their style is unique, and whether you want something simple and minimalist or lush and grandiose, they can deliver it with a natural, organic look. The pictures on their website don't do them justice. In my case, they created an elegant, naturalistic look in a monochromatic color scheme (in reds/burgundies) for all of my floral pieces (bouquets, corsages, reception centerpieces, ceremony decor, etc). I won't describe the details of all the amazing things they created for me, but I will say that their designs looked like nothing I'd seen from other regional florists, and the look perfectly complimented my outdoor setting, through a combination of flowers, vines, branches, berries, ribbons, and candlelight. Rather than having a preconceived notion of exactly what you want, give them some creative license to design something for you and you won't be disappointed. You will also get value from them. I shopped around, and found this vendor offered me much more beautiful options within my budget than many others. Service: This is a family business, reflected in the level of personal access and service you'll receive. Chances are the person you talk to on the phone is the same person who creates and delivers your pieces. Everything was done on time, set-up at my venue was perfect, and prices paid were the prices quoted. Added bonus: I forgot to order a bouquet for my bridal portraits until two days before. It was too late for them to get my exact materials, but they were able to put one together very close to my color scheme, and it was lovely (in the photos, I like it just as much as the one I had on my wedding day). I keep hoping for another occasion to hire them again. But until then, I just recommend them to anyone who needs a special occasion florist. read more

My husband and I got married at Mercury Hall in December 2013. I picked the other florist first, but my wedding planner, Your Wedding Your Way, had suggested to use Visual Lyrics. My initial meeting with Teresa (VL) and her mom went great. I felt really confident and good about our vision. Unfortunately, after that initial meeting, it was very VERY hard to get a hold her. She rarely responded to my emails on questions and changes. I met with her again with my bridesmaids to make sure that we were on the same page. I showed her the pictures from Pinterest and explained what I was envisioning. She started taking notes, and after a few weeks she send me the invoice with about 2K over my initial budget. I ended up paying about $4000 for her work and on the day of the wedding. I was happy with everything with the exception of the flowers. I was pretty disappointed with the center pieces which was totally different from what we communicated with her and how poor they looked. I provided all of the candles, so the candles looked great but those were all mine. They charged me $4000, which turned out to be the most expensive part of the whole wedding, and yet, it was the most disappointing part of the wedding. The last thing to add... On the wedding day, you have no idea what is going on because it is extremely chaotic. I hired wedding planner for this purpose. After we got sent off with bubbles, my lovely friends were told to pick up everything left at the site. They picked up some decorations that were left outdoor. The next day Teresa showed up to come pick them up. She was upset that some parts of the decorations were taken down. We just said sorry but we had no idea and no control and did not think it was that big of deal. Overall, I thought she did not make much effort to communicate well with us before and after the wedding. My vision was not through with her and she did not try much to understand fully. This a mother and daughter small business that we were excited to support on our wedding day, considering I own a small business as well. We went back and forth about using Visual Lyrics because we wanted to make sure they would really live up to our expectations on the day of our wedding. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Although the florals were beautiful, there were many discrepancies from the contract to the actual decor. Even the display they presented in their boutique two weeks before the wedding, was starkly different that what was presented at Villa Antonia. We had specifically asked for coral as one of the colors, there were almost NO coral flowers. All the flowers were extremely light blush colors, there was no Ranunculuses or Protea in my bouquet as the bride (which I personally requested), my bridesmaids were disappointed as well with their leaves and stem heavy bouquets, there was little to NO greenery on the tables which was one of the main talking points of our conversation with Visual Lyrics. We feel like things were falsely represented by VL and their excuse was that It wasn't available and you signed a contract that said florals will change based on availability. There's more, two days before the wedding, they looked at the layout and realized that they didn't have enough florals for all the tables. They had the layout months ago, and make a mistake themselves in their counting of tables and tried to blame it on us. We felt like they were unprofessional in the way that they dealt with this situation and we would not recommend someone else use VL for their special day because there will be discrepancies between what you see on your contract and what you experience. read more
