First time eating here!! They did butter for me instead of oil. Love that. Family owned. Super kind and great portions. We will return.

Consistently excellent food, service and friendliness. Family owned , local fresh ingredients served with a smile. Great location for hosting business or family /fun events. Serene patio with flowers and fairy lights. Highly recommend this restaurant

The Thai basil chicken was delicious. It had plenty of spice and had plenty of flavorful vegetables. The pork and shrimp spring rolls were a whole different story. We asked for them to an appetizer, yet came after the entree came. When they arrived the first bite was rancid. We complained and were not charged. It's really a shame that this place can't get it together. It's in the hood and convenient. Although, we won't waste our money here again.

Exceptional Chinese food. It's the westernized version but it hits all the right notes on flavor, spice and quality. Sauces are full of flavor and they do a good job of tempering the amount of sugar and volume they use. Most other places just drench their food in sugary sauce. Batter on the chicken is light and crunchy. Their is an attention to detail that is very noticeable. They have all the standard dishes and a few specialties and honestly, it's all great. Service was friendly and prompt. Also, their prices are very reasonable. Great value.

Feed your inner office worker. My company actually moved offices, closer to 360, so the food options have been severely limited. Fortunately, Red Lotus to the rescue. In terms of the menu, there are plenty of options to choose from, think Panda Express but with table service. No, that's not a ding, but more of a reference point in terms of the food you can expect here: Kung Pao Chicken, Broccoli Beef, Garlic Pork, you get it. There's also pho and curry entrees if you're feeling something other than 'Chinese'. The lunch entrees are a good value since you get an eggroll and choice of soup. Note, let me put the 4 stars in context, this isn't 4 stars from Henry the foodie, this is 4 stars from Henry, corporate slave, who doesn't want to drive far. So temper your expectations, and reflect on your after-meal fortune cookie.

My gf norm likes to get the pad Thai. I think the chef forgot an ingredient or the sauce. It was very dry and bland. We did order takeout so maybe that's why. It was a 50$ order of food. Mehhh

Walking in I was unsure how authentic the food here would be but the large customizable menu seemed to cater to many different tastes and appetites. The lunch combo is a really great deal - a main dish with an egg roll and soup for about $11 is a steal. I got the Bangkok Basil with shrimp. Although rut was not as spicy as I would have liked it was still good. I also wish the basil flavor was a bit stronger however the vegetables and shrimp were well prepared. The egg roll was also crispy. Alone it was kind of flavorless but pairing it with the basil sauce made it better. The egg drop soup was pretty good - very rich and flavorful. I tried my friends Lemon Pepper tofu - I would definitely recommend this. Overall large portion sizes, will definitely fill you up.

This place is never busy and the food is consistently delicious. There's really nice, covered outdoor seating. The people are super friendly and kind. The shrimp egg foo yung is amazing. I've also ordered Mandarin Moo Shoo and it's equally delicious. Large and flavorful portions. Outside, there are wind chimes and decorative lights. Great spot for a small family gathering. It's a hidden gem!

Our family has always ordered takeout from red lotus, but today my fiancé took us to dine in. The food is always incredible through takeout, and it's even better in person. The service is a liiiittle slow, but that's fine. The food makes it absolutely worth it. We started off ordering the sample platter appetizer and steamed dumplings. Everything was great. As usual. Then for main entrees, we orders the general tso with chicken, beef fried rice, and chicken lo mein. Everything came out in a timely manner, and my initial assumption of everything being incredible in person was absolutely correct. I can't wait to dine here again.

The…read moreThai basil leaves were absolutely ginormous, and they gave us plenty of them alongside very fresh limes, which I appreciated. The bowl itself came loaded with meat--they definitely weren't skimping to save money here. The meat-to-noodle ratio felt great, and every bite actually had substance instead of leaving me fishing around for toppings. As for the broth, I landed somewhere in the middle. It wasn't quite as clear or light as I personally prefer, leaning toward a fattier, milkier undertone that almost reminded me of a Vietnamese pho take on tonkotsu. The flavor itself was undeniably very good, but the richness may have been a bit too much for me personally. One way I usually judge how much I love a pho broth is whether I want to sip the bowl down to the very end, and this one wasn't quite light enough for me to want to do that. I've had richer and deeper pho flavors elsewhere, but I still appreciated the flavor profile here and could absolutely see why this place is so popular. It feels hearty, comforting, and satisfying in a way that clearly resonates with many people. Despite how packed the restaurant was, the atmosphere ended up being surprisingly pleasant. Service moved very quickly, which honestly impressed me given how busy everything felt. Even with the crowd, I didn't dislike the spacing or setup at all--the restaurant still felt comfortable, and the sound of people enjoying their food all around added to the lively, welcoming energy rather than making it feel overwhelming. Overall, Pho Phong Lưu ended up being one of those places where I completely understood the hype, even if it didn't become my personal favorite pho spot. While the broth leaned richer than my preference, I still enjoyed the experience and definitely look forward to trying other dishes next time.

But it also has egg and scallions and pate; overall the combo is satisfying. Separate from takeout, we decided to go for an early dinner. Their Crab Vermicelli Stir Fry is surprisingly sweet, with sweetness as a prominent flavor. It features plenty of crab bits. I also grabbed a Skillet Combo. It came with two runny side up eggs, pate, two types of cured pork, beef gravy, and a handful of cilantro. The baguette came on the side, as did the mixed salad of lettuce and tomato. The salad had some dried shrimp, fish sauce, and a slightly sweet dressing. The restaurant itself is located in the Chinatown Center on N Lamar. It's a small corner shop. Lots of mirrors and glass. You place your order at the front before being seated, which was an easy process. The staff was friendly, and the food came out quickly. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue, and my husband ordered the Sip Pho. Both broths were rich and flavorful. The portions were generous, and they definitely did not skimp on the meat. My Bun Bo Hue came with a beef rib that was tender and delicious. One unique thing was the noodles in the Sip pho bowl--they were slightly thicker than vermicelli, which was different but not a big deal. For drinks, I ordered the Matcha Green Thai Tea. It had an interesting flavor combination, but the matcha taste was a bit overpowered by the green Thai tea. It was still enjoyable, though slightly too floral and sweet for my personal preference. The prices were very reasonable, and they offered a great variety of pho, vermicelli bowls, rice dishes, and appetizers. Next time I visit, I'd love to try the egg rolls since I noticed many people ordering them. The only downside was parking. There are about six spots in front of the restaurant, with additional parking in the back. It was a little difficult to find a spot, likely because we visited on a weekend. And honestly it's better than any fancy restaurant out there. I love the amount of plants in the space and the TV plays cooking videos and it's so nice to watch while waiting for your food! Speaking of waiting for your food, the food comes out super quick! Within 1 minute of ordering my drink, it came out! And a couple minutes after follows the food. The service is amazing as well, the servers are super sweet and are very quick to serve you and get what you need. The menu offers a bunch of things, appetizers, main dishes, desserts, and the drinks! I love how the desserts and drinks are also Vietnamese (most of the time I notice restaurants tend to have the basic selection of fountain drinks and desserts, but this restaurant has a wide variety of drinks and desserts so you can try something new every time you come here!) Most of all, there's a bunch of vegan dishes which I absolutely love. The food is always delicious I've been trying the vegan dishes recently and I love them a lot (as someone who doesn't like vegan dishes normally)! The chicken pho is also so delicious it tastes better than I make it at home! So much flavor. The drinks are so good as well. They also give you a big portion and I normally have leftovers, but the portion size is amazing for the price that you pay. It's definitely more affordable and such a bang for your buck. This is definitely a spot to try and trust me, you'll probably fall in love! If I was an Austin tourist I would definitely hit up this restaurant. I could go on and on about this restaurant.
