    Jamming on the one
    Ann G.

Come for the wine, stay for the cheese! While the 50 & 50 and 70 & 30 (Cab/Tempranillo) were tasty, the real standouts were the breads and spreads. From the first pour, we were presented with impressive amounts of jam, cheeses, breads, and dressings. If I wasn't so damn full by the time we left, I would've built myself a sandwich to go. Try to taste everything, but if you can only do a couple, get the chimichurri and chile de arbol. ¡Buen provecho!

Sol de Media Noche was the next stop on our anniversary trip to Valle de Guadalupe. It's is located off the main road so it can easily be missed. The restaurant is located in the front of the property but if you pull into the driveway and keeping driving you will see the tasting area. It is located in an open warehouse. This place seems pretty popular as we noted tour buses parked in the lot. When you go inside the warehouse it give you the feel of an indoor market. The tasting areas are located towards the back along the walls. You walk up and they give you a little wooden tray with samples of bread and cheese. The tasting areas are lined with jams to try along with your bread. You are also given a plastic cup for the wine tasting. I know some people are turned off by the plastic cup but for a FREE tasting you can't really complain. We tried a few wines but nothing I felt compelled to buy. If you are not a fan of sweet wines they by all costs avoid the chocolate wine. I suddenly felt sick after trying it. I loved the bread, cheeses, and jams. We bought the Garlic bread, Tomato Herb Bread, 2 Quesos de Cuatro Chiles (Four Chili Cheese) and Hibiscus and Chili Jam. They also have olive oil and dressing but we didn't get around to trying those. Also they have some nice trinkets for sale by different vendors. I bought a little bracelet that caught my eye. If you come to Sol de Media Noche, come for the bread, cheese, and jams. I look forward to coming back on my next trip.

I loved this place! There is so many different kind of wineries in the area but this one was one of my favorites. It was Sunday when we went and they had a bunch of markets inside and they give you a free cheese platter which you go up to a station and they walk you thru the cheeses and they pair it with a baby sampler wine and bread they make fresh every couple hours also jellies then you can buy some of the wine, cheese or wine. I love it! I bought some bread (rosemary bread was great. So was the banana nut bread) and some jellies also and cheese. I got so many items. Was very good. Must stop by this winery.

3.5 stars. The outside is underwhelming, but the inside has a cute marketplace of a few vendors. Our bus tour included a cheese sampling that was great to walk around with as we tried different jams. Bathrooms available as well.

Fantastic marketplace with one of a kind marmalades, breads, quesos, vinos and more. This is a place that is known for more of a dessert wine and a fantastic chocolate wine - that is no joke... like dark chocolate cherries in a silky tempranillo, served slightly cooled at cave temperature. It's an unexpected highlight and nothing is like it. It is now in large market tents almost across the street from their previous location. It is worth a stop to shop and right now, November, it is open until 8pm at night via generators. Go and get your goodies for the holidays: olives, honey, salad dressings, more cheeses and other gifts - everything organic, artisan quality, unique and one of a kind. The Valle de Guadalupe is very special and this is the stop that adds to your experience there. I love it. There is plenty of parking for your tour van, bus, car and horse!

Yes ORGANIC WINERY!!! I didn't even know such a thing existed. I'm glad I came across with this winery. It's so cute. It's small. Mom and Pop winery. Everything is homemade. The wine tasting is FREE and you can taste 5 different types of wines. They also give you a platter of cheeses with a selection of breads that's also homemade, sooooo good. Besides the wine, they also harvest olives which they have for sale.....and they also have different types of spread bread (fruity, herbal, and spices). I loved their wine. It's the type of wine (fruity or chocolate flavor) that you can drink with any kind of food or dessert.

Tasting jams, cheeses, wine, and bread

Complimentary tasting of cheese, wine, and bread. They have someone walking you through the tasting in case you have any questions. Small beautiful location. The sweet loaves are freshly made and delicious. You must try the nata loaf, all are super moist! Their wine ice cream was so-so, it was more of a sorbet than ice cream. Their prices are super reasonable.

They were super responsive, and the day before our designated rides, they shared the driver's number for us to connect directly. Our driver down to Valle was named Elias and made the whole process so simple! He picked us right outside of where we came out after crossing the border. He was super friendly and wanted to make sure we were comfortable for the drive. He told us a little bit about Valle and how he's lived there for 25 years. On my way back, I had a different driver, who was Natalie. She was super nice and the ride back was so quick, probably because it was the morning and traffic wasn't too bad in Tijuana yet. She was helpful in directing me to find the line to cross the border. Without the direction from her, I would have definitely been confused. They made this whole process so seamless! They were on time and available for all the questions I had leading up to the rides as well. I will for sure use them in the future any time I'm traveling somewhere driving distance in Mexico!

I was thrilled to see an email on Saturday saying we were welcome for the 2nd tasting of the day and then filled with panic as I saw when it was sent, didn't have service and that time was quickly approaching. Thankfully i got wifi, replied that we would love to be there, got a reply saying we were good to go and off we went. I will thank our luck a large amount on the weather as many people cancelled due to pouring rain and flooded roads. The roads are rough, especially in the rain so a larger vehicle or a tour driver would definitely be beneficial but we made it happen. Upon arrival we were greeted with hugs, conversation, drinks and blankets and it honestly felt like we just showed up to the home of a family member. With the weather, it ended up just being the two of us and another couple who drove out for the day and previously was married at the vineyard which made for the most intimate afternoon tasting. My fiancé (oh that's still weird to say haha) is not really a wine drinker and I don't usually drinks reds but we both loved all 3 years of the tasting and the tapas that come with each were so delicious. One of the pairings was a taco with meat that I don't eat so I gave it to him and was more than thankful when Hilda noticed and asked her team to make a potato taco for me to take part. With the impeccable vibes, Carlos decided this was the right time and place and completely unbeknownst to me he had let James and Hilda know about his plan and they assisted in the greatest intimate proposal I could have ever dreamed of, rain and chilly temperatures and all. After our tasting we all spoke around the table like we had known each other for years and it really was the most special day and experience I could have ever asked for. We will definitely be back sooner than later, especially since we both fell in love with not only the humans on site but vineyard good boy Corcho. Thank you both for your hospitality, I honestly can't express it enough.

I did not. The grounds are stunning. You're on an active working orchard with views in every direction, and dropped right in the middle of it is the most enormous oak tree I have ever seen. That tree, you guys. It's MASSIVE. Ancient. The whole property is built around it, and drinking wine in its shade was straight up surreal. There were dogs wandering around. Families on picnic blankets. A live band playing under the tree. People dancing on their own. It's magical. The wine was freaking delicious. The charcuterie was good. The service was good. Nothing stood out either way on the service, but with everything else going on, I genuinely didn't pay attention. This isn't a quiet, learn-about-your-tannins kind of tasting. Because it was the day after Christmas and off-season, it wasn't busy in general for most of the wineries, so coming here was quite the treat because we nearly had the entire terrace to ourselves for the majority of our time there.
