The conversation went south from there. He was rude disrespectful and no other way to put it he was a complete A__ Hole! We were both in shock as to how rude this clown was. When he heard that my wife did not like opioids, he then asked what she expected him to do for her? We have never been to a pain management center and did not know what to expect. It appears this Quack is only interested in pushing narcotics. My wife and I were in shock from the lack of professionalism from Dr Vogelgesang. Had the appointment lasted any longer this A__Hole would have been picking himself off the ground.

Perhaps I had realistic expectations, having worked in the drug treatment world and having dealt…read morewith drug seeking behaviors, but I found Dr. V & staff refreshingly honest, pretty open and willing to continue, despite my own withholding of some information that might have been helpful, initially. The laws around distribution of controlled medication have been tightened, after nearly condemning many in our country to lifelong addiction. The rebound could have been worse, so I have some compassion for their business. My "worst" experience was when I actually threw my script away one month (I am old, on a lot of pills and got interrupted during the putting them in the cabinet phase of unloading groceries). It sounds like a weak excuse, but it was real. I knew the docs were prevented, by law, from just reupping the script four weeks early, but I did not expect to endure withdrawal for over three weeks with no relief (especially from the leg-shocks or nerve zaps or whatever they are) that prevented ANY sleep for days on end. Looking back, I think I should have gone to a detox clinic. Instead, I found an old script and spread what little was left over three weeks (and after missing a full week of work). The response from the doctor on call was nothing less than just "rude" (and it was not Dr. V or Erin, my regular ARNP) however but truly, I've listened to drug seeking behavior, and I believe THAT was what informed her response. Also, I will guess that it was after many times burned because "guessing wrong" results in disaster & death leaving just no room for empathy. I understood why she was "firm," but not having any suggestions to alleviate the symptoms seemed to land a little on the "neener-neener, you should have known better" side of the coin. So, after that experience of having NO recommendations or medications to managing severe symptoms of withdrawal, especially for someone who had been a patient for over four years, with just that one incident (which was over a year prior to writing this review) I have become METICULOUS about accounting for my scripts. Also, I have leached a bit from each month's prescription so that if I EVER find myself in that situation again, I can at least taper myself off the dependency gradually, and perhaps avoid the withdrawal. To me, this is far LESS dangerous, than seeking scripts from strangers, or using more of some OTHER drug (that may have side effects) in hopes of stopping the spasms, nausea, diarrhea and other symptoms. I will NEVER go through that withdrawal again, and see now why withdrawal alone can induce relapse. After all that, why did I return to a medication that causes such physical dependency? Because the pain I have is so debilitating, it makes me unable to work (especially at my current job that requires almost 3 miles walking, daily, according to my Fitbit). I cannot afford that - few can! The medication has Z.E.R.O. euphoric effect - so I am NOT tempted to take more than prescribed or use it in any way other than as prescribed. Using this medication is the FIRST time in forty years where I did not struggle to take it as scheduled AND it actually eliminated the pain! To me, this is truly a miracle cure! But the true cost is physical dependency. I have to accept it, I don't LIKE it, but can (now) manage. And overall, I find the office more personable, caring and adhering to standards than some. All of which are things I would want them to do with any of MY clients, or my children. I just wished they had SOME protocol for managing withdrawal symptoms, when necessary.

Severe communication breakdown and lack of empathy for a critical care family…read more Our family's experience with Providence St. Peter Hospital has been deeply distressing during an already terrifying time. My 83-year-old grandmother was recently T-boned in a severe car accident, suffering eight broken bones, and was only just moved out of critical care. She managed to call me from her room, but the phone was disconnected. When I immediately called back to reconnect with her, I faced an absolute wall of bureaucratic incompetence and zero empathy. First, the staff claimed they had no idea who I was talking about. Once they finally recognized her name, they flatly refused to transfer me to her room or provide any explanation as to why. To prevent a family member from speaking to an elderly, severely injured patient who just initiated contact is completely unacceptable. The extreme lack of coordination between units and the rigid, unhelpful attitude of the staff turned a medical crisis into an agonizing, aggravating ordeal. St. Peter's leadership seriously needs to address how their staff handles communication with worried families. Frontline staff need training on basic empathy and how to properly locate transferred patients instead of just shutting families out.

And mind you they have a 15% charge if you miss your appointment. So if you couldn't pay what happens? I didn't have 800 dollars I wasn't even aware it was due until after I was getting prepped. I asked if I can put 200 for now. They made an exception but it just felt really weird and messed up. That's all I had for the next two weeks. I was scared. Usually it's courteous to give a rough estimate before the appointment so one comes prepared. This is with insurance so they were attempting to charge me based on my policy coverage prior to billing occurring. They also didn't offer me any options prior for the wisdom teeth removal whether it be local or IV sedation. It was just a charge list that they handed to me without offering any options. They also didn't talk about any changes that are possible for the sedation process which is the pricey area. Make sure you guys advocate for yourselves and make informed decisions before you walk into any office. Make sure to call and inquire about patient responsibility too so you come prepared for your appointment or have to reschedule. This is something they really need to work on and I'm really disappointed. But I'll end on a positive note, doctor called me in the evening to check on me. I am equally disappointed in myself as a parent and a health care provider for not seeking another dentist sooner and trusting this dentist. I am a Family Medicine Provider, I rarely leave reviews but I am disheartened and need to communicate this message. My daughter is fearful of all medical clinics as she was in the ICU for a week when she was 3 years old. Yes, she will cry and resist dental treatment likely for a lifetime. A child crying should not limit the treatment or halt the exam. We visited this Dentist on 9 occasions with the intent of getting my daughters teeth examined, cleaned and x-rayed. In the totality of the 9 visits, we received no x-rays or cleaning, the exam was rescheduled each time because my daughter cried. Our Last visit I urged the Dental tech to continue getting the x-ray and just allow her to cry as she was having dental pain. The Dental tech denied continuing. The diagnosis was possible abscess but unknown without xray. Nine attempts to get her teeth cleaned without result. The chart notes were requested; the assessment & plan was cut and paste formulaically every visit with instruction on teeth brushing. I immediately transferred care to Dupont Pediatric density, and they worked magic, did an x-ray and cleaning same day. My Daughter did in fact have an Abscess and was given Antibiotics and referred for appropriate treatment. Please Parents, learn from this. Seek another Dentist if your child is not getting the care you feel they need and deserve. Shame on you Small to Tall pediatric Dentistry. The front desk staff was professional and pleasant consistently.

I was in the back shortly after ten a.m., Aaron (MA) was fabulous (personable, smart), Dr Brown rocked; he listened to what I had to say (AND it was transcribed perfectly into my portal), X-rays and a plan for treatment was completed with me out the door by 11! I am REALLY confused by the 1 star reviews; I can only guess they are referring to the main clinics, not the urgent care option. As I progress through their system I will update my review, but as of today they absolutely are FABULOUS!!

I went to Olympia Orthopaedic to see about getting a hip replacement. I met Dr Wood. He was…read moreextremely engaging and confident a hip replacement was exactly what I needed. One of the statements Dr. Woods kept repeating at both appointments was, "After 3 days , you'll be able to golf, go to Costco and mow the lawn ?" He also repeated "You will have my personal cell phone for LIFE ".All of his staff said pay no attention to what he says, you will NOT be able to do any of those things by day 3 !!! Dr Wood has 4 rules: 1- take stool softeners and drink SMOOTH TEA 2- Take your pain medicine as prescribed 3-Do the exercises 4-!!!! The surgery date was set. My wife and I filled out the same paperwork at least 5 times prior to the surgery. We were told this was vital for all the staff. Surgery day came, I had issues coming out of anesthesia with intense all over body shaking and my heart rate kept spiking. Dr. Wood came in and said everything went GREAT! And his personal cell phone would be given to us by the discharge nurse. I ended up staying way longer than normal because of my heart rate.An anesthesia Doctor came in as well to make sure I was ok. Finally I got to go home. The next day we followed the discharge instructions, which told us to elevate the leg that was operated on above your heart. That caused an amazing amount of pain, so, we called ,Anne who was listed as the 'Joint Replacement Coordinator 'she was listed as the person to contact with any after care questions.my wife called her in the morning, didn't hear from her ,so she tried again. She ultimately never called. Dr. Wood's personal cell phone # was never h The next day I started having very bad intestinal spasms. I thought it might be justdue to mild constipation It kept increasing. I couldn't eat and I got a low grade fever 99.9 The discharge papers said only call the 24hour after care if your fever goes to 101 or above. By Sunday my intestines were so painful I couldn't get out of bed, I felt weak and horrible. My fever was worse. My wife called the 24 hour service # on the discharge papers and there was a recording that said this # was no longer in service !!! She called their urgent care and they told her to call the main line. 15 minutes later a person from Olympia OB/GYN called. She said his pain was most likely due to the SMOOTH TEA. And to chew gum !!! Within a couple of hours I was in the bathroom in experiencing the worse stomach pains I've ever felt. My wife had to come in before I passed out to help me , stand ,clean me up and get back in bed. She called the OnCall doctors again. NO ONE called us back My wife does not drive. We are over an hour away from a hospital. We believed what that OB/GYN doctor said. By Monday morning my wife was insisting I go to an ER. My temperature was normal but I still had pain. My wife did call Dr. Wood's office to tell them of their epic failure of the weekend. The front office said someone would be reaching out to us. My wife had no choice but, to drive me to the ER, where they did a CT scan My fever went to 101.4 I had a perforated bowel. They flew me by helicopter to a hospital by car would be 2 1/2 hours away. The ER doctor had to find a doctor who had the experience to handle this issue. Since my wife doesn't drive, she had to go back to our home. She was very stressed and scared. I had emergency surgery. My surgeon found my sigmoid colon had ruptured. There was bile and bowel contents exposed in my cavity, which can make you septic and cause death. I ended up having a total of 3 surgeries and 6 inches of colon removed. My wife was finally able to come up to stay in an hotel after being there a week. In the meantime, NO ONE from Olympia Orthopaedic had called us, even though they had been made aware of their failure to respond when we called the after hours doctor. Finally day's later, Anne called to see how Steve was doing from his hip replacement surgery !!!!! When I told her of all he had gone through she was completely shocked and apologetic and told me I'd be hearing from Dr. Wood and administration etc. that day. A few days later, Steve JohnsDr. Woods, his PA called and he was rightly stunned. He also said heads would rolled and said I would be hearing from upper management. We heard from NO ONE. Fast forward.....over 2 years and I still have horrible hip pain!!! I went back to Dr. Brodie Woods and told him about what happened after the surgery and the absolute debacle of care and he had the audacity to say he knew NOTHING about it! He also felt that a little PT would fix my hip. Well it hasen't. I would strongly recommend avoiding Dr. Brodie Woods from operating on any part of my body.
