How can there be such a wide span of ratings on Yelp? It's Yelp--take opinions for what they are. If people post racist comments or find it necessary to point out nationalities, then those reviews should be automatically discredited. I came to Vogue with one month before my sister's wedding and no bridesmaids dresses for 5 women with various sizes, ages, and a very firm wish of the bride about what she wanted us to wear. These women at Vogue are Dress Professionals, and they have seen it all. They came highly recommended to me by a friend, and I only wish I had started my shopping here. The shop appears small from the outside, but it has the widest selection of styles, colors, and sizes I have seen anywhere. They have dresses for prom, cotillion, homecoming, bridesmaids, Jr. bridesmaids, and mother-of-the-bride. I was so relieved to find the dress my sister wanted, and for only $165. The dresses were ordered, and arrived a week later and a day earlier than promised. Alterations were done (mine was $30 to shorten the dress) quickly and professionally. If you come to this store with a bad attitude, you only have yourself to blame for a poor experience. I don't know where to begin. Walking in the dresses were gorgeous but the two Assyrian employees were trash. I am trilingual, I speak Assyrian, English and Arabic. But they didn't know that. Walking in they stared me up and down mean mugging me. I walk in and start asking for their help. As I ask for their help they stat to judge. I wear a size 12 dress..... as I was looking for size 12 dress they started telling me this won't fit you and started suggesting a 16 and 18. Which by the way didn't fit at all. This place is in a small plaza across Assi on Milwaukee. It's owned by Koreans, and in the front of the store, you can see the huge selection they have for prom and homecoming dances, with the shiny material and such, with bold colors. In the back, they have a small selection of bridal gowns and wear, and also the Korean traditional hanboks. They do alterations that are quite a bargain compared to other places, and if you do buy a wedding dress from a boutique and your alterations are not included in your gown cost (it usually isn't), bring it here and they'll have you save at least 30%, if not more. They guarantee your satisfaction, and they don't toot their horn in advertising and such. The hanboks you can choose in regards to the different fabric and styles, and you can also custom-make it. They've been doing these for a good number of years and are quite an expert at it. They'll even tell you how to measure if certain individuals are living out of state. All are made to order and will be shipped from Korea - delivery is at the most, 8 weeks. There are books you can peruse to see what style you want. I was extremely satisfied on the hanboks that were purchased as the colors were beautiful, fitted perfectly, and it was picture perfect! They also have hanboks for the kids as well as cute shoes that are about $35 (with heels!). Vogue fashion moved from a very small location to a much bigger location right down the street. They have a huge selection of reasonably priced dresses. I must admit when they where at their smaller store it was way too crowded but now there is a lot more space. I always find something that will work for the occasion I am going to and I also feel like im overpaying for a brand or other costs that most big chain stores have to pay for. You can find what you are looking for on your own or you can ask one of the girls to help you. They were very nice and only helpful. I read the previous reviews that all the employees are korean. Now there are girls of other nationalities working there too. Anyhow, I think that everyone in the store works very hard to make sure their customers are happy and I have never had a complaint with an alteration or even custom work that I have asked them to do. I think Vogue is definately worth checking out. They have tons of styles and they do alterations on the spot. Having made two purchases in the past for my daughter's dances I had been previously pleased with the service and dress choices at Vogue. That was unfortunately not the case on our most recent trip this Wednesday, April 11th. With prom coming up, I told my daughter to meet me at Vogue so we could shop for a dress. When I arrived she was standing inside the store near the entrance. Confused as to why she wasn't already trying on dresses, she said the worker told her she could only try on three dresses. I said that was okay and understandable b/c the worker probably thought she was a kid not serious about purchasing. But then my daughter proceeded to tell me not just three dresses in the fitting room at a time, but three dresses the ENTIRE time and she didn't want to try any on without me. Thinking my daughter must have been confused as the store had only one other customer in the store and couldn't possibly have been overwhelmed by any means, I questioned the woman as to why we could only try on three dresses. She no exaggeration screamed at me, "What do you mean 'Why?'?" I explained that it's near impossible to pick a dress from only 3 in the store in one trip. She again rudely said, "It's on signs and has been the rule for ten years!" Then she changed the rule and told me 5. Still thinking this was so out of left field, I questioned, "I've bought dresses in the past from Vogue and never experienced this rule. Did something happen?" She literally, no exaggeration, screamed again that, "It's the rule!" I turned on my heels, walked away and said, "Thank you, BYE!" without trying on ANY dresses and Vogue lost hundreds of dollars on a potential purchase. I'm sad for the owners who have always been helpful and displayed appropriate customer service in the past as they will definitely lose even more money in the future if that horrid woman is allowed to continue treating customers this way. Vogue has lost any future business from me and I will be sure to pass my experience on to other high schoolers and their parents unless I hear word that this woman has been reprimanded or released. DO NOT COME HERE! They will tell you anything to get your business but not follow through on all their wonderful promises. They don't even deserve this one star. The full story: My friend is planning her wedding in 3 months and most wedding stores that we went to would not be able to ship the bridesmaids dresses in time. Came to this store early February and they promised the dresses would arrive in a month. They have a huge selection of dresses. The store is Korean owned but they have some hispanic staff to help you with the fitting. We found the perfect dress and they came in the wedding colors -royal blue and teal. Perfect! -or so we thought. We wanted 2 of each color. The dresses only come in 4 sizes -S, M, L, and XL. They measured us girls and pinned the dresses down to fit so we knew that alterations would be necessary. We ordered 4 dresses and they offered to give us a discount on alterations -$100 per dress and $20 alterations. We paid a $50 dollar deposit for each dress, totalling $200 for the 4 dresses. Sure, that seemed reasonable. Everything was "YES, YES, YES! What ever you need or want we can do it!" The Korean lady told us to come back in March after the shipment arrives to get another fitting. We left pretty happy. March comes along and no phone call. My friend goes into the store and they do not recognize her. They couldn't even find any record of her order. She had to pull the floor sample to show them which style we had ordered. She was told to go back in three days. The dresses ended up not arriving until the beginning of April. The royal blue dresses arrived in the 2 size smalls that we ordered. However, the MH tried on her dress and it was so short it came above her ankles. When she had tried the dress sample it covered her feet so one would expect that the small should be the exact size/length as the one she tried on. We pointed it out and all blame were put on us. We came to them for their expertise to custom fit these dresses to us. We're not seamstresses. Why should we tell them how to do their job!? Outrageous! We ordered an XL and S in the teal dress and they gave us XL and L. The XL was snagged and had stains on it. When pointed it out they promised to ship a new order to the store in 3 days. If they can ship the dresses in 3 days, why did we have to wait over a month?! 3 days later the XL and S arrive in store and the colors were completely off. It looked like a muddy teal color. They wouldn't give us a refund but only kept telling us they'll ship another 2 replacements in 3 days. The following week the 2 teal dresses finally arrived. At the fitting the 2 dresses were so small it bubbled down the back of both girls, looking like a dinosaur spine. What did not make sense was that we went in to get measured, tried on floor samples, made sure the dresses fit before they ordered them. Why such a huge discrepancy in the sizes?! Keep in mind the dresses haven't even been altered yet. The dress was so tight, our chests were smashed down and we had side boobs. How very unattractive! The hispanic staff wouldn't talk to us but kept talking about us to our face. We spent 30 mins on the phone with their manager who was in California. We just wanted our deposit back. We gave them so many chances to make things right. 3 out of 4 dresses were messed up. They refused. We waited for the owner's wife to talk to us but she was hiding in the back room. We stood by the door, she saw us, but continued to ignore us. 30 mins go by and the owner comes in. He hears us on the phone with the manager for the 3rd time and doesn't say a thing. We asked if he was the owner and he said yes. So we told him "You're the one we need to talk to! Hear us out!" All he kept telling us was "No, no, no. Talk to the manager. She knows what is going on already. It will take too long for me to understand the situation." HE BACKED AWAY INTO THE BACK ROOM! You would think that if this is his business, he would care about the customer and the quality of his merchandise!! We left with no dress and no refund. The owner's wife called the bride the next day during her work hours to "discuss" another shipment. The wedding is 2 weeks away!!! Why did she ignore us and hide in the backroom the entire 1.5 hours we were at the store and now call the bride and take away from her work time. Ridiculous!!! In the end we didn't get our dresses and they didn't give us our deposit back. They wouldn't even give us in-store credit. Don't waste your time and money! You have been warned. My husband and I had a very hard time finding anyone that offers Pyebaek in Chicagoland. So happy we visited Vogue Fashion. Their main business is gowns--prom, quinceanera, weddings and other special occasions. But they have a special room for Korean hanboks, as well as all the accessories to go with hanboks. They have several to choose from if you are interested in renting or purchasing one off the rack. Otherwise, there are several designer fashion books from which you can choose one to be custom made in Korea. They also offer a full Pyebaek service. I wish we had photos of the pyebaek to post here--the table was set and decorated so beautifully. They had five or six backdrop panels to choose from--all very beautiful. They provide everything for the Pyebaek: traditional clothing, food, tea service, table and decorations, floor mats, backdrop panel, assistants, announcers, and music. They have multiple Pyebaek options to choose from. They arrived exactly on schedule and set up everything. They entire ceremony ran very smoothly. I went here with my wife, daughter, and dad to find a traditional Korean outfit for my daughter's 1 year birthday. I also rented one of those walls that you are supposed to have set up behind the birthday child. I guess it's hard to say since my dad was there to do most of the talking. I don't speak Korean very well, but I do understand it, and my wife doesn't understand any of it. But, we were able to navigate our way through several different outfits. The owner (I think) was very helpful and gave us some thoughts on a few of the different outfits. We picked our top 3 and tried them on our daughter. She was behaving well and didn't seem to care that we were making her model in front of a big mirror. I think she was entranced by all the different outfits and colors. The owner was very upfront about the prices and didn't pressure us into the more expensive outfits. We ended up going with a middle of the ground one that is very vivid. We also looked at some of the walls and chose the one we liked best. She did try to convince us to buy some outfits or rent some for ourselves, but we decided not to. They did seem to have a lot of formal outfits and shoes around the store but can't really comment on that. read more

I bought my prom dress here a few years ago and had no problems. The dress was a reasonable price and they did a good job on the alterations, so I decided to come back here to look for another dress to wear to an upcoming event. However, my second experience here was just plain terrible. Yes, they were a little pushy to sell a dress the first time I was there, but they took it to a whole new level the second time I came. Each time I tried on a dress, they told me I looked beautiful in it and asked if I was going to buy it at LEAST five times during the time that I had it on. I was looking for a black dress and most of the options I had to choose from were ugly, so I was only able to try on three dresses. After I tried on my third dress, I went toward the front of the store to grab a dress that I had seen earlier and one of the ladies goes "Excuse me miss, we have a three dress minimum....if you are not going to buy a dress for sure then I cannot let you try on any more. We need to know that you are buying one for sure here." She did not speak perfect English, so I am pretty sure that she meant to say "maximum," but that is not the point. The point is that they have TERRIBLE customer service. They were so RUDE and PUSHY to the point that they lost a sale. I was actually going to buy the first dress I tried on, but after being treated like that, I will NEVER go back again. Thank God I didn't end up buying that dress too, because I found an even better one at Cache in Old Orchard Mall. read more

This place was very horrible worst customer service ever . We went to Chicago for the weekend and were Looking into purchasing a second dress for my sister 15 party . We were running late as the store was going to close at 6 we arrived at 5:55 pm while there the business owner seemed in a rush wanting to leave we had found a dress that we really liked around $350 the owner had agreed to steam the dress to get wrinkles out as the dress was very wrinkled. The owner charged our card and started streaming our dress it took her about 5 minutes. When she said she was done we looked at the dress and realized that it did not look good it looked the same. They lady was obviously in a rush, my mom had informed her that she was going to make another trip back the following weekend to pick up the dress so she could take her time in steaming it since they were already closed. The owner said NO! NO! we will do it right now we said ok. The owners mother was with her and decides to start doing it herself the older lady was taking her time and trying to getting the wrinkles out for about 3 minutes then the owner comes back and starts speaking in a different language and giving us dirty looks. She then tells my mother that they aren't a dry cleaning business and for her to spend extra money and take it to get professionally pressed. My mom then tells her she is spending enough money for the dress and she wants it given to us in good condition if not we didn't want the dress. The owner gets upset and tells us to leave. She kept the dress and still charged our card. When I tried calling back that Tuesday the same lady answers the phone and says that she wasn't the owner to call back the next day to speak to the owner . I called Wednesday and nothing then Thursday I called the same lady answers the phone and says that the owner wasn't there and I said aren't you the owner she said she was the manager and that the owner wasn't going to find things in our way and wasn't going to refund us our money, and we weren't getting the dress. We didn't want the dress anymore because we didn't want to do business with such rude people. She said we were rude by speaking in Spanish and we were talking about her. What we said in Spanish we said in English to her that the dress looked very wrinkled and for the amount that we spent we wanted it done correctly We didn't go to a department store we went and paid extra money at a boutique but obviously we were better off going to Macys because I have no money or no dress. Then when I'm talking to the lady on the phone she begins to talk poorly about my family as I'm trying to speak to her. By seeing others post on yelp I regret not getting info on the business first before shopping here . Lastly the lady told me on the phone that she was charging us the money $350 for having to stay open and paying electric to keep her business open and to pay herself for staying open an extra 20 minutes. I passed by this store every weekend my family was running their daily errands, and I was always mesmerized by the beautiful dresses I saw on display. Recently, I figured that since my senior prom was coming up, I might as well check out this lovely boutique. As soon as I walked in, I saw beautiful dresses on display throughout the middle of the store. However, those were basically the only beautiful dresses. Throughout the store there were piles of dresses on racks, dresses on dresses, dresses stuck on walls everywhere, basically dresses in every place imaginable (perhaps a bigger store would be better). Not to mention as my mother and I where trying to look for dresses in the mess, an associate kept following us around, bothering us every second possible. Can I get a moment to breathe and browse around please?! Even the owner kept telling us " Don't worry about size, we can order. Catalog Catalog Catalog. We will knock down prices for you! We can alter". I haven't even had a style in mind yet! With no room to breathe or think, I immediately wanted to leave. My mom was all for it, she said the fabric and material was cheap, and even the beading work/design on some of the lovelier dresses. It was not worth the price to pay. The dresses were around 200-700, and very fashionable. I did love most of the dresses on there, but I was so just overwhelmed by the dresses everywhere and especially the associate and the owner. Extremely unhappy with this store. The people working here are only hungry for your money, and they will lie to your face in order to keep your money. They do not care what dress they sell you as long as they can take something from you. They do not accept returns or exchanges, and when you try, they make you feel very guilty about your decision to purchase it. The store owners seem very hands-off about their business, unless it involves cashing in their money. The manager is very cold and is very pushy with her selling. Horrible service at Vogue Fasions in Niles today! Took my 17year old daughter, her friend and friend's mom to the store today (New Year'eve 2015). Went there esp. today because when I visited the store in October, the Korean owner said to come and check the Prom dresses out over the hoildays before the mad rush begins in January. When we walked in we only saw the Assyrian woman who helps with the dress selection. I went over to let her know about looking for dresses and the first words out of her mouth was are you buying a dress today. I told her that depends on what the girls find. She said she had another customer to be with and went off into a back room. We then began looking at the dresses and the girls selected over 3 dresses each. When they went to the dressing rooms, the woman came back and said only three dresses were allowed. So us moms held onto the extra dresses. After the girls tried on three dresses they retrieved the rest of the dresses (2 each) and returned the ones already tried onto the rack outside the dressing rooms. The woman comes over and says "only 3 dresses." We explained they had 3 or less in the rooms. She says they can only try three dresses on max because they had not told her if they were buying a dress. Whaaaaa??? She then shows us a hand-written sign on the wall that says "3 dresses max." We were the only customers in the store at this time. I said to her what kind of rule is that? She says that's the rule. Whaaat? Nevertheless, we did not buy any of the over-priced cheap dresses from here. Not worth the trip!!! read more

One word to describe this place...AWFUL! Last year I purchased a bridesmaid dress and had my alterations done at the store. The price charged for alterations was really good; they did a decent job with those alterations. This year, I am in two more weddings and needed alterations for both dresses. Because they were inexpensive and did a good job last year, I decided I should return to the store (even though they are a half hour from where I live). BIG MISTAKE! They messed up alterations not on just one dress but BOTH! One they made too tight. (It needed to be taken in just a little bit; they took it in too much. I definitely did not gain any weight in the two weeks that they had the dress.) The other was just wrong in a lot of ways. They told me that the main reason the alterations were not perfect was because I needed to add padding to them. They never mentioned that initially. They charged me another $20 to add the padding. Had I known it was going to cost so much overall, I probably would have gone somewhere else instead. One dress was fine once they let it out and added the padding. The other still was not perfect. The padding lines are clearly visible; it looks bad. The dress came with detachable straps. I was debating on whether I wanted to actually wear the straps. They sewed them on, so now I either have to wear them or cut them off. I was so frustrated and tired of dealing with them that I just took both dresses and left. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. The owner was rude, alterations were horrible, and charges were added after they already had made changes to the dress (I wasn't about to go and pay someone else to fix their mistakes). One more note...my friend in one of the same wedding parties also went there for her alterations and had to return because they were not done right the first time either. read more
