I was told the frame was actually broken and a new frame needed to be ordered. The glasses were given back and I was told I would hear from them within a week. On August 6th I called and was told the frames were not in. By this time one of the arms had fallen off and the other arm was hanging by a thread. On the 13th of August I called and, once again, the frames were not in. I no longer could wear the glasses as both arms had now fallen off. I was experiencing headaches from straining my eyes. Kathleen, the person I spoke to on the phone, suggested I come in to see what they could do for me. I went in and met with Leslie. She was a lifesaver! She searched for a suitable pair of frames that my lenses would fit into. I could use these while I waited for the new frames to arrive. It was a lengthy process but she eventually found a pair. Leslie assured me she would look into the whole situation and two days later I was back in and Leslie had my new frames. She quickly replaced the lenses and I was good to go. I can't thank Leslie enough for everything she did to rectify the problem. I was so impressed with her professional manner and her determination to turn a very negative situation into a positive outcome. It's individuals like Leslie that have customers returning to Bedford Eye Care. Catherine Spears

Let me get right to the point with this one, no beating around the bush!…read more My beef is not with the Dr's, but the front office staff, they need a lesson on customer service. I called in to order some new contacts, my morning started off with me ripping my last pair...so I called to order a new box, I was informed it had been two years since my last eye exam and they could not do anything until I had an eye exam. I explained that I would be happy to do that, but wondering if I could just get one pair to tie me over till I could get in for an appointment. I was told NO, there was no discussion, they were not going to help me until I came in for my $120 eye exam, even though I have been purchasing contacts on a regular basis. I have been a customer there for over 10 years and thought that my loyalty would count for something, I was not looking for a freebie, wanted to order more contacts, make an appointment for an eye exam, and in the mean time needed a pair to get me through. I sent an email to them to explaining my disappointment in their lack of effort to help me, I have not heard a thing. I was not expecting wine and flowers, but maybe a follow up phone call to an upset customer.. that makes good business sense to me. It all worked out in the end, found a great new eye Dr who only charged $70 for the same appointment they charged $120, got my contacts, and I will be happy to spend my money there :) I do not recommend the Doctor's eye clinic, it is all about how much money they can make, not the patient! It's to bad they can't "see" what good customer service is about.

Costco... where you'll come for the bulk toilet paper but stay for the hotdogs. Wait, that doesn't…read moresound right! Out of the two HRM Costco locations, I prefer this one for a couple of reasons. I will drive the extra miles even though Bayer's Lake location is much closer. The Dartmouth Crossing store is a newer build than Bayer's Lake. I find the aisles are bigger and easier to move around when the store is busy. The whole set up of the Dartmouth Crossing shopping area with wide, double lane streets and dedicated entrance/exit ramps is much better laid out than Bayer's Lake. Bayer's Lake was the city's first foray into a dedicated big-box shopping district. in the suburbs. Dartmouth Crossing learned from their mistakes. We usually seem to make Costco runs on the weekend; when lots of other people have the same idea. Shopping in crowded stores with stressed out people is like nails on the chalkboard of my soul. So being able to get through our list quickly and in and out of stripmall purgatory is paramount. Like any Costco, this store is a great place to stock up on the family necessities. After going through two in diapers I can say with authority that Kirkland baby wipes are the bomb and cheapest to boot. The Costco tire centre is the cheapest place in HRM to get your oil changed and has the lowest price on the big name tires. I can't leave out their dogs. At $1.50 for a drink and a gigantic hotdog it must be cheapest lunch in HRM.

I had a deeply uncomfortable and upsetting experience at Costco that I feel compelled to share…read more We purchased just four items, with one empty bag placed in our cart. As we exited, the receipt checker looked at our receipt and said, "Just four items?" My husband politely greeted him, but he didn't respond. Instead, he asked sharply, "What's in the bag?" and began inspecting it thoroughly only to find it empty. What hurt most was what happened immediately after. A white customer ahead of us was barely glanced at; their receipt was checked without any scrutiny, and they were waved through without the employee even looking into their cart. The contrast in treatment was glaring and painful. As brown customers, we couldn't help but feel that we were being singled out and treated with suspicion purely because of how we look. The irony is that the employee himself appeared to be an immigrant, which made the experience even more disheartening. Costco promotes itself as a welcoming, respectful place for everyone. Yesterday's interaction did not reflect those values. No customer should be made to feel humiliated or judged based on race or appearance. I truly hope Costco takes such experiences seriously and provides better training to ensure all customers are treated with equal respect and dignity.
