Volaré Rooftop Bar is located in Uptown Albuquerque inside the Element by Westin Hotels. I went up for a nightcap on November 25, 2025. I sat a brief while at the bar before being greeted and later served a "Sandia Sunset" (watermelon, orange juice, pineapple juice, grenadine) made with vodka (around $12). The views were nice of both the city lights and the silhouettes of the Sandia Mountains. The bar was chic. By all accounts, this place seems to be not a chain and not a franchise either, Brian G. (per your review from 12.14.2025), but an independently-founded and owned bar. When I explored the patio, it was quite windy that night, but I thought I could handle a few swigs next to the smokeless fire pits. Several seating arrangements I went to each had dirty dishes. Gathered with 7 pals for appetizers and beverages on 4/14. We have been here before and have enjoyed the service. This time was no different in terms of our server's attention, personality, efficiency, and overall demeanor. V ~ was great and thank you! I am personally giving 3 stars for this bar/restaurant for 2 reasons: 1) the online menu is not updated with prices - I will delve into this more in a minute, and 2) kitchen service was slower than expected. TRULY HARD SELTZER | 7 Hard Seltzer | 5.0% ABV Secondly, 7 out of 8 of us ordered food and 1 person had to ask for her crostini 3 or 4 times. Our lovely server did take it off of her check but nontheless, we were all done eating by the time she got her food and she was so gracious about it. Another thing: why can't I make a reservation in advance for a group of more than 4 when the place was clearly not busy at 4 pm on a Tuesday? We make 3 separate reservations for 4 people. The rooftop has a beautiful view of the mountains! We just went for a drink and the wine and beer were very good and reasonably priced. They do not have an extensive food menu but they have enough that you could eat while there. Our waitress was very sweet. We will go back. read more

We decided to check this place out for a bite and some drinks. The food really is snacks, they used to have more by way of food, but many of those items are no longer on the menu. Though the drink menu they hand you still has that on it and they hand you a different food menu. The 'old' menu we were given looked like it had been drowned and chewed. Given they need to reprint them anyway, maybe it would be a good idea? The drinks were decent, the service was super super slow. The chicken quesadilla was kind of sad, seemed to be just chicken and cheese, decent portion, but kind of meh. The views are gorgeous and it's a great setting. Me and 3 friends came in looking for a table after dinner one night to grab drinks for a friends birthday. My gal pals and I had a nice time here and enjoyed ourselves, but I also found myself thinking there was room for improvement. First of all, the view of the mountains is beautiful and the inside of the rooftop bar is Instagram-worthy. As for the food, I loved bacon-wrapped dates, but they if there was a drizzle of balsamic glaze on top, they would've been out-of-this-world delicious! The chips and dip were fine, but nothing to write home to mom about. The cheeseboard was good. I wish their menu was clearly marked to identify gluten-free items. I also absolutely loved that they had cocktails, but found it strange that the mocktail baby mule didn't have any ginger beer in it. It left something to be desired and what I was left with was a lot of lime juice with soda water. It was a miss for me. The other mocktail I tried was the das dis sunset, which was a lot better than the baby mule but it was served in a highball glass with a short straw, so after you got to a certain point, the straw was useless. It's a small detail that impacted the experience of the drink. The server was kind but when she brought our food, she didn't bring any little plates. When we we asked her for some, she happily came back with some but then didn't bring any silverware. We asked for that too. Both plates and silverware are helpful because it's polite to put a serving on your plate and they help prevent cross-contamination since I have to eat gluten-free free and my friends don't. I feel like we shouldn't have had to ask for small plates and silverware. They should've been provided automatically, either with the initial setup of the table or when the food arrived to the table. This is an upscale rooftop bar at the top of Element Hotel. Like the decor throughout the hotel, Volaré has an elegant, modern feel. Our server was attentive without being intrusive throughout our entire meal. Drinks were reasonably priced and well-made. I had a glass of St Clair Cabernet Sauvignon and it paired nicely with the bacon-wrapped figs. Their menu is small, but included a decent variety. Although it was too chilly for us to sit outside in December, I snapped a few pics just to capture the vibe. The views are outstanding and it would be a great place for a casual meet-up with friends or even a social event. We will absolutely return on our next visit to ABQ. read more

This is a super cute place in uptown. Once you exit the elevator you leave Albuquerque behind. You arrive to beautiful views of the city and cute fire places. The drinks were delicious. I had a botanical fizz and lavender martini. The flavors were so yummy. The charcuterie board on the other hand... for $35 dollars I wouldn't order again. There were two types of cheese. Two types of edible meat. One of the meats looked like a fruit leather I was unimpressed. When we had arrived the table before us had eaten the salami and bread off their board and that was it. After ordering the board myself I can see why. I recommend for the drinks and the ambiance. Maybe other menu items are more appetizing. It's a cute place to check out. read more

We went for drinks/nibbles- it was busy. Food was meh- we had a cheese board and a flatbread pizza. The kicker was we ordered the Meiomi Pinot (always a safe bet)... when the waitress brought it out both glasses were cold! COLD!! Who puts a red in the fridge?!? we looked over at the bartender and sure enough looked like every single bottle of wine was in the fridge. The weather kicked up so we had to move from the patio to the bar inside. The dangling fixtures in the bar evidently are on the same wiring as the recessed lighting in the ceiling ...so they can't adjust for any ambience. Do lights are either 150% on (interrogation style) or off. We sat in the dark and finished our meal. It was just silly. This place is trying to be bougie but really missed the mark. Stopped by Volare after having dinner in uptown. The views of the sandias are stunning. There is also seating to watch the sunsets on the westside of the building. Drinks are a bit pricey but the ambience makes up for it. Attached is a cocktail I had just before they lit up each fire pit area. This was a nice touch. There is plenty of seating and a small area with games for kids. This is not a big area but large enough to distract the little ones while you enjoy a drink. All beers on tap are from the local breweries which I appreciate. There are no TVs here as an FYI for you sports fans. But you should be coming here for the views. read more

Stopped in last weekend, was out running other errands, and we were unsure if we wanted a meal or just a snack, decided to go check it out and see what the view was like. Was very comfortable, even though the wind was high so the west side deck was empty, the east side was open and the bar area had the wall folded back and clear view of the Sandias. nice un obstructed view of the Sandias and 90% of the Manzanos. we decided to eat several appetizers, Bacon wrapped stuffed dates(not as stuffed as i would have liked, but still excellent and freshly baked) Crostini with mushrooms and goat cheese. (very good), and have cocktail/beer and eventually a Cezar Flatbread. while we awaited the sunset. I liked that they didn't fuss about me only being in a tshirt, prices were reasonable. Would totally go back for a snack or on a day with a likely good sunset. The fire pits around the deck and fun seating along eith the bar with one side facing the sandias make for great options. read more

I don't get the high reviews of this place. I have been here three times. Each time I have been disappointed - poor service, no food, mediocre interior. The one thing going for it is the view. On the last visit, I took the Enchanted Loungers. I love rooftop bars, and I hoped all problems had been fixed. Extremely disappointed for the same reasons I was disappointed before: extremely poor service and lack of food. The place wants to be cool. The interior is nice hotel restaurant chic. It has a great view of the mountains on the eastside of the bar. The westside is blah and hot. Don't agree to sit on the westside. There is nothing to the bar lobby - very hotelish. We ordered food. Half the menu was out. This has happened every time I visited. There is no mention of this on the menu or by the waitress. You only find out after you order and wait for 25 minutes. We ordered three rounds of drinks. Only 1.5 rounds came out. I asked the waitress several times what the problem was. She could not give me an answer. It took forever to get the drinks. Finally, we decided to leave. The place cannot split checks. Major pain in the butt if you are with others. I hope this place succeeds. It is my understanding it is not a hotel owned by the chain. Rather, it is a franchise. They are clearly cutting costs! AVOID! read more

We went here for a pre NYE celebration and we had seats on the patio near the fire it was a great view and tasty drinks but definitely a bit pricey to make it a regular stop. 45 minutes passed between my arrival and finally being brought the drink (a simple cocktail) I had ordered. (It wasn't super busy or anything.) I almost left, but I was enjoying the view of the mountains and city. The cocktail was mediocre. I decided to give it one more chance and ordered a dirty martini. They brought it to me faster this time, but they were "out of olives." What is a dirty martini with no olives? Yeah. I asked to close out after that, and they only billed me for one of the drinks. I thought that was an acknowledgement of how poor the service had been/how long the wait had been on the first drink. So I paid, and was leaving, when they actually stopped me and said I needed to pay for the other drink. I said, "okay... why wasn't it on the bill when I closed out?" The bartender was curt. So, I paid once again, and left. Would not recommend. It's a shame because the view is great, and it could be a sweet spot. But the service was terrible, and the drinks were not up to par. read more

Very nice upscale bar on the 7th floor of a brand new hotel. Plenty of seating inside the bar as well as front and back patios. The service was slow at first. The charcuterie board is a bit small for the price. The drinks were tasty. They ran out of fries which was a bit odd. It had rained so we sat inside then moved out to the patio later. David was super cool but the other bar tender left a bitter taste in my mouth. He's a bit condescending and unprofessional. He made some strange comments and was too close to some of the people and made some of my guests uncomfortable. Overall the place is pretty nice!! The hotel has nice drive up appeal, good parking, and an inviting front desk agent . . . setting the tone for a clean modern ambiance. (Nothing fancy or upscale, just a nice clean appearance. (The property is about 1 year old.) I just went for a few drinks and dinner (because someone mentioned they had a restaurant menu.) The rooftop bar had outside & of course inside seating. Thoughtful placed seating, without crowding the customers. Our group of 10 were seated at a filthy table and we requested that it be cleaned. Inside there were two speakers omitting loud music that would suddenly decrease in volume. It was quite annoying and we asked a few times for it to be adjusted. Finally a staff member just turned the volume completely down. A few minutes later the same thing continued to happened and we gave up asking them to correct the speakers. The alcoholic beverage selection was "okay" with wine/liquor, not extensive. The nonalcoholic beverages ($16.00 6-8 ounces) seemed unique and the drinks were tasty but obviously way overpriced. My wife ordered - and received a small bowl of steamed vegetables. I ordered a salad and received a small bowl of . . . something with 2 very tiny pieces of chicken about one inch in diameter. We both had one nonalcoholic beverage. The cost for the 2 alleged meals was $65.00. Our server was genuinely friendly, helpful & professional. She just required our assistance with reviewing what everyone ordered & how to split the checks. At the beginning we did inform her we were splitting checks because we were couples at the table. She said she could not take the orders as couples and that we would have to review what we ordered with her at the end of the meal. My review may seem vague and incomplete because my only point I'm making is that I would NOT recommend this establishment, nor would I ever return. read more

The view of the Sandias is great but keep in mind you're also going to get views of Menaul, nearby office buildings, and the parking lots in between it all.
