Buyer beware! Terrible customer experience! Purchased my ticket online, received a confirmation code and when I arrived at the airport to board the plane I was told I had no reservation. My payment didn't go through. If I wanted to fly I would have to pay for a new ticket which was of course more expensive than the one I thought I had purchased. No one, not at the counter, customer service over the phone nor over email have been able to explain why they would give me a confirmation code if my payment didn't go through. They limit their explanation to saying my payment didn't go through. That would have been a whole lot more helpful had they told me that when I was purchasing the ticket instead of giving me a confirmation code. So I didn't fly, and I missed one of my best friend's wedding. Had I known my payment hadn't gone through I would have used a different form of payment. What is also baffling is their lack of empathy and logic, if they would have respected the price I was originally given I would have been able to fly. It is not my fault their system made the error, but since I was buying the ticket with so little time in advance they had to give me a higher price. Again, had they said my payment hadn't gone through right when I was purchasing it all of this wouldn't have happened. This is the worst airline! They delayed the plane for 2 hours due to a security clearance that caused 8 people to get off the plane. After an hour an half they let two passengers back on. The flight attendants nor the captain excused themselves for the delay. After 2 hours they did not even have the courtesy to offer free drinks or peanuts. There is a reason why this airline is so cheap and that due to the lack of professionalism and efficiency. This is the first and last time that we fly with this airline. Please do not fall for the cheap air fair. They seats a very small and uncomfortable. I am 5"9" and my legs were crunched up and eventually began to swell. I highly recommend that you invest a little more money and fly with an American company. You will not regret it and you will not invest your money in companies that stuff you. DO NOT FLY VOLARIS! Due to my mother's death I had to change my reservation on Volaris to two days earlier. long wait on hold and sometimes the phone was just busy. Finally changed the flight BUT was NOT told I WOULD NOT GET ANY CREDIT FOR THE FIRST TICKET I PURCHASED. JUST GOT BILLED FOR BOTH TICKETS TO THE SAME DESTINATION ON TWO SEPARATE DAYS. Terrible customer service. Refused to correct an issue with a flight I had booked only minutes after finding a mistake immediately after booking it. I even paid for the flight protection and the customer care individual refused to help me out. He also refused my request to speak to his superior. They told me I was stuck paying for a flight I would never be able to use. The time from from me booking to me calling was less than 20 minutes. The flight is over 3 months away and nothing. Hello, Im Emailing you to let you know about my experience flying with Volaris Airlines for the first time. My family, which included a 90 Year old man, flew from LAX (Los Angeles, Ca.) to Mexico City, Mexico to Cancun. We took the same route home. We paid $$3,538.45 USD for our flights. WE have flown to Mexico with Aero-Mexico, Mexicana Airlines and with American Airlines. We usually fly to Mexico every other year. The day of our flight we checked in on time and our flight was scheduled to leave on 12/23/15 at 12:05 AM. At the Voaris check in at LAX we were advised by the Voalris agent we needed to pick up our luggage at Mexico City and check it in with Volaris at the airport. Our flight did not leave until after 1:00am. This normally would not be an issue but we had a 1:35 minute layover to our connecting flight in Mexico City, Mexico. Our connecting flight in Mexico City, Mexico was scheduled to leave at 7:35 AM. By the time we grabbed our luggage and because out flight was delayed, we missed our connecting flight. When we went to the Voaris agents in Mexico City, Mexico we were advised by the Mexico City agent that we were given the wrong information by the Volais agent in Los Angeles. We were advised the luggage would be placed on the Mexico City connecting flight for us. When I asked the agent, then why was our luggage on the luggage rack for us to pick up in Mexico City, she advised us she did not know why. The agent advised us it was "our" fault we missed our flight because we should not have picked up our luggage, without mentioning the first flight was one (1) hour late. Volaris wanted to charge us for "changing our flight", but they finally realized it was their mistake, they then put us on another flight. However that flight was a 12:00 Noon departure, almost 5-hours after our original flight. Keep in mind, we picked a middle of the night flight from LAX to get to Cancun as early as possible, scheduled at 10:35 AM Cancun Time, to maximize our usage of the $99.00 a day all inclusive we were paying at our resort. We had a family of five (5), $99.00 a day = $495 a Day. When we finally landed in Cancun and got to the resort it was 4:00 PM, over 5-Hours from original arrival time. We had to call and wait for our pick up from the airport because they were there at 10:35 am not 5-hours later. This was NOT to our Vacation we had hoped for. Now the flight home. Our flight left from Cancun to Mexico City, Mexico and to LAX, Los Angeles. Our flight again left one (1) hour late from Cancun. When we landed in Mexico City, we had to run to our connecting flight because we had 30 minutes until it left. the gates were on opposite sides of the airport. We were the last five (5) passengers on the flight. We landed in Los Angeles on time. We had 5-pieces of luggage on the plane, one for each passenger. At the baggage claim only one (1) of our pieces of luggage made it back to LAX. We had to do a baggage claim. There was another couple who had the same issue, there luggage never made it to LAX either. We were advised our luggage could not be located and they would notify us when it was found. The next day, we were advised our luggage was found in Mexico City and they would send it to us when it arrived in Los Angeles. We finally received our luggage 2-days after we landed. To make a long story short. We were extremely disappointed with our experience with Volaris. We will never have a connecting flight in Mexico City, We will never fly with Volaris again and we will never, ever recommend Voaris to ANYONE. read more

DO NOT book a flight with this airline more than a month in advance because if you do that, you will be bombarded with tons of emails. I received three emails a week from them about my itinerary, which is just ridiculous. I was also bombarded with phone calls from their reps reminding me about my itinerary, which is a nice service, but not if you keep getting multiple calls! Also their reps don't speak English well which was difficult to talk to, and I"m not discriminating because I'm also a non-native English speaker, but, I do believe you need to hire reps who can speak a bit more fluently to be able to help your customers who live in the U.S. and speak English. The first time I used a credit card with them....within 2 days of purchasing my ticket, I had over $2400 dollars in fraudulent charges in the Mexico City area. Bad luck I thought....well the 2nd time I used them, I charged my ticket on a new card which had never been used before and this ticket was the only purchase ever made with this card. Within 2 days of purchasing my ticket at the Volaris desk at LAX, I had raked up over $4000 in fraudulent charges (again, all made around the Mexico City area). We have had certain situations with them but we let them pass because they were no so big but this time we are not letting them pass we bought my mom and two nephews their tickets about two weeks ago they were suppose to be home today when my mom showed up to check in they told her that we did not purchase her ticket that there was no reservation and did not let her get in the plane she was there at 3 am, 3 hours before her flight like they ask you to. Then we call and they tell us that she did not show up and their was nothing they could do. First time going through Volaris... booked a trip from Mexicali to Guadalajara to Cancun and back. Get a voicemail to call them back. Try calling them back, press 7 for English, wait for 30 minutes and finally get someone to help me. Find out that they cancelled a leg of my trip so it screws everything up. I have to stay in Guadalajara overnight between the two legs of flights. Who at Volaris ever thought this was a good idea? Why does it seem that everything done "over there" gets screwed up? I was hoping, just HOPING they would for once prove me wrong. Anywho, I told the Volaris rep guy that I was not going to be able to take the flight, since I was not going to spend a night in Guadalajara and go back and forth to the airport. This was supposed to be a RELAXING trip. I asked for a travel voucher or something to compensate my loss but they refused or the Volaris travel agent was a complete moron and didn't know what to do. Now I am seriously considering taking them to small claims court and getting my money back. I should have thought twice before booking something in Mexico. read more

In late March 2011, I purchased airfare for 5 persons on Southwest web site. the booking included two segments: Morelia to L.A. on Volaris airlines, and L.A. to Oakland on Southwest. In early April, we received our VISA statement, and realized that we were charged twice for this booking. We contacted Volaris, and complied w/ their requests for copies of the VISA stmt, our ID's, etc. At end end of April, we were told by Volaris that the problem would be resolved in 15-30 days. At the end of May, I contacted them, and was told that they would need another 10-11 days to issue the refund. In mid June, I contacted them, and was told that they cannot credit our VISA account, nor send us a check, but they could send a check to their office at the Oakland airport for us. At this point, I was willing to take anything, so I agreed. At the end of June, I contacted their Oakland office, who told me that they had not received a check for us. Never heard another word from Volaris. In July, with the support of Cap One, we transferred our VISA activity (minus the duplicate charge) to a new VISA account, and left Cap One to recover the funds from Volaris. HATE this airline! I was looking online for tickets and everytime that I was going to purchase them it would give me an error. On the third try everything went through just fine. Then I begin to recieve emails that I was booked for three flights same day leaving and even same day returning. I have been on the phone with these people for more then 4 days emailing my credit card statement, Id's everything. Now they are telling me that they are going to have to charge me a fine for the two flights that I am not using. Their customer service is awful I speak Spanish fluently and they are a headache to deal with. I finally spoke to someone in English and but she is not stating that she has to get the approval from her financial department to refund my money for two flights that are not going to be used. Had a terrible experience with this airline flying back from Leon, Mexico. We flew Delta on the way there, but Volaris offered a non-stop flight to Oakland. We were unable to check in online, but it would not have mattered, because we had to check our bags. Arrived two hours prior to our flight and the line was incredibly long. There was ONE ticket agent at the time. We had ordered a wheelchair for my husband and finally took advantage of it and got through the in a bit more quickly. We ended up boarding with the rest of the passengers because they board handicapped and special boarding passengers LAST!!! The plane was cramped and awful. To their credit, we did leave on time and arrived early. You have to pay for everything, even water. The staff were very friendly and helpful, for the most part. They had no customs forms in English. My recommendation is to pay more to fly another airline because this was a horrible experience. read more

Volaris repeatedly claimed that my credit card was blocked however my credit card company said it was fine. I tried several times to book again on the website and same problem. Worst service ever !!! I finally get up to the front of the line after an hour to check in the luggage, everything was so disorganized it was ridiculous. Three of us were flying and the lady had asked to see our passports of course my friends had theirs in their hands already while I was getting mine from my bag and before I could even open my bag to take it out the lady immediately started giving us attitude about the third passport. Have contacting the company for several days now and being hung up several times and being told by a representative to Google the number that I need to call. I feel like I need to express my concern on social media with the hopes of being heard. I cancelled a flight because of medical reasons I forward them all the need Information the issued me some vouchers. I never received an email or nothing with the terms and conditions of the voucher. All I was told is to call back when ready to book. I have been calling to book and it seems no one is able to help me. I spoke with a gentleman 2 days ago he said he was going to use the vouchers. I ask him can he call me back in 45 min so I can gather all the flyers info. He never called me back. When I called back they stated I could not use the vouchers. I asked them to please locate the recorded call from that day. They could not help me. So now I am according to the representative 5 days away from loosing a total of 700 dollars. When I finally spoke to an agent he could not answer any of my questions and when I asked for a manager I was connected to a dead line. The booking process did not disclose all the additional fees. I did not pay for a lap child up front and now I am informed I cannot do this until I travel. I have been quoted two different prices by two different agents for the lap child. Also many of the links on the website are not available so you cannot even look prices. We paid extra for refundable tickets and extra baggage because the wife is in cancer clinic in Mexico and we were not sure when a clinical trial would begin. Had to change flights when her lung filled with fluid and didn't mind paying the ticket cost differential BUT got charged for ticket change, Then her lung filled with fluid again and we had too change again --another charge. WE had written letters from our doctor verifying that we could not fly on either date! We ended up paying over a grand US on tickets that were originally $316 and got a $200 voucher. First time flying with them but never again regardless of how cheap it is!!! On our way to Mexico it was fine- no complaints. On the way back though it's a whole different story. They charged us not for overweight bags but because they made us stick our carry on bags in a little wooden box and said they were too big- one the bags handle was sticking out... Now the only reason why that pissed me off is because when we flew TO Mexico nothing was ever said to us. I told the attendant that if they're going to do something at one airport they should do it at all. He said that they were a small airport but I said they were the same company! I was told to be at the airport 3 hours before and I did (it was my first time traveling to GDL so I was a little nervous) so I was there 3 hours in advance. I was traveling with my 9 year niece. I asked to be seated next to her since she's still young! They actually gave us different seats numbers and said go to the gate someone will try to help you!! And I did, when I got to the gate the gate agent told me it wasn't possible because all seats were taken!!!!!!! What I don't understand is I was traveling with a underage!! And they couldn't sit us together?????? My niece was scared and she didn't want to be alone!!!
