I'll put at least 2 stars because the decor very nice as well food wasn't that bad to be honest, If you think on coming here, this is my experience and I wanna share it as someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for a while now . I'll start by saying I came with my partner on a Sunday around 5pm afternoon. Walking in up to the host was super nice sat us down. Server came by which was Alex great Server couple minutes passed by. They started getting a little overwhelming on the side we were sitting. I had ask alex for rice never came back got too busy had to get myself up to tell the host if she can send someone. Unfortunately alex was too behide to even check on our drinks for refiles or anything really. what got me upset is that Alex the Server got slammed with so many tables mostly with a 10 top that I saw, which is not ok. How are you gonna put one Server on the side of the floor plan with so many tables on a SUNDAY AFTERNOON and as much as the host was super sweet she should've hold the door and kept an eye on the Server to see how he was doing. Till Alex was drowning a women Yasmin could be wrong about the name but she came and assisted not even the upper highs came by and I blame the managers. Managers because I did not see not one and if I did, they were either sitting down eating or walking around demanding or telling Alex to do certain stuff. I was mad observing, they was not helping they acted like they were doing things and that's upsetting as a manager. You're supposed to be there for your employees regardless, but clearly they're lazy and just care about getting people down and sat but honestly it's not about how much people you bring in, It's about the experience they leave out with. Super upsetting I was excited to come here and on top of that AC seem like it was not working at all. I understand we are in front of a grill but come on now, I've went to other Korean bbq places and it's not as hot as I felt in there. I'm gonna make sure this review gets out there and if it gets deleted best believe I'm gonna repost it. I see that they be replying and it's very hostile with it, don't be on charge of reviews if you can't take the heat as well I encourage the managers to re-take classes on how to run a restaurant.

What an interesting concept of unlimited K Bbq. Everything lined up neatly buffet style- grab as much as you can finish. This works best for me as I am more of pork, chicken and seafood person while family is big on beef. Everyone gets to pick rather than getting a huge portion of meat that you struggle to finish( or try to hide underneath the lettuce to avoid wastage charges, lol) There is a wide variety of marinated meats as well as thinly sliced selection for hot pot. Loved the dessert bar as well.. My favorite is the sauce bar where I can mix different sauces to my taste. Ambience was very clean and nice. Service was attentive.

My best friend and I went to Volcano Hot Pot & BBQ in Oakwood Plaza (Hollywood) on a Friday night. Overall, this is one of the better hot pot/Korean BBQ places I've been to in the area. Pricing was $38.99 per adult for hot pot and BBQ and $21.99 for kids, which is pretty average for this type of all-you-can-eat hot pot/Korean BBQ, especially for the amount of variety they offer. One thing to know -- the veggies and a lot of the hot pot items are self-serve. I'll be honest, I'm a bit of a germaphobe, so normally I'm not a huge fan of that. But everything was actually very organized, clean, and constantly being restocked. Nothing looked picked over or messy, which made me feel a lot better about it. The Korean BBQ meat selection was really impressive. They had New York strip, different types of chicken and beef, beef bulgogi, and even salmon for the grill, which you don't see everywhere. For hot pot, there was a good variety of proteins -- chicken, beef, pork, lamb, and beef tongue (which I was happy to see). They also had some more adventurous options like tripe, "hairy beef," and even uterus... I'm adventurous, but not that adventurous . The veggie selection was solid. They didn't have sweet potato (which I usually look for), but they did have pumpkin, which we love. There were also lots of mushrooms (enoki, king oyster, etc.) and plenty of greens like bok choy. The sauce bar was great with a lot of options -- gochujang, chili oils, sesame oil, garlic, green onion, chili paste, and several house sauces (mild and spicy). They also had kimchi and pickled radishes, which I always appreciate for gut health. Dessert was actually better than most places like this. Not just ice cream -- they had cookies, fruit (fresh oranges and peach syrup slices), and different cakes including a tiramisu-style sponge cake, plus a strawberry whipped mousse. They also have a full bar, and something I've never seen at a hot pot place before -- Thai teas, boba drinks, and coffee. The whole place felt very family-friendly overall. The booths are more private compared to places like Lemongrass, which made it feel more comfortable and helped cut down on the noise. Service was okay but not as attentive as Master Ba's. Water refills were a little slow, and at one point our grill stopped working and the manager had to come fix it (they fixed it quickly). Also, just be aware there's a time limit -- 90 minutes during peak/weekend times and 120 minutes during off-peak. I get it because the place gets busy, but it's also annoying since you feel rushed.. less rest and digest. The bathrooms were clean and the restaurant overall looked well maintained, which I always pay attention to. Overall, I would come back. Great variety, clean and organized (even for a germaphobe), and definitely one of the better hot pot/KBBQ options in the South Florida area.

I recently dined at Volcano Hot Pot & BBQ and had a great experience overall. The concept is fun and interactive -- you get to choose your own ingredients and cook everything right at the table, which makes it perfect for groups or a casual night out. The variety of food was impressive. There were plenty of fresh meats, seafood, vegetables, and sauces to choose from, and I really enjoyed being able to customize my hot pot broth and BBQ flavors. Everything tasted fresh, and once cooked properly, the food was delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive, especially when explaining how the hot pot and grill worked. The restaurant itself was clean, lively, and had a nice atmosphere without feeling overwhelming. The only downside is they give you a time frame to eat your food -- , especially since you're cooking the food yourself. It's worth it if you come hungry and plan to try a little of everything, but maybe not ideal for a light meal. Overall, I'd definitely come back. It's a fun, flavorful experience and a great spot for social dining if you enjoy hot pot and BBQ.

Best hot pot restaurant in Broward! Located in a busy shopping center, Volcano is hidden behind several chain restaurants. Upon walking in, the interior is bright, clean, and updated. Once seated, your table can choose to have hot pot, KBBQ, or both. We only got hot pot, as cooking both is overstimulating and chaotic. They have more broth options than competitors, including Korean seafood and tom yum, and you can control the spice level. You get your sauce and ingredients at a large buffet bar. They had a variety of quality meats, including beef tongue, fatty beef, etc. My favorite is their wide assortment of vegetables-- you can tell a hot pot place is high quality when they offer unlimited snow pea sprouts! Another favorite is the fried tofu skin, which soaks up all the broth. Because you go up and grab your own ingredients, there is no need to wait for a waiter or conveyor belt. As for the service, our waiter was funny, lively, and frequently checked up on us. Although it is a pricey dinner (slightly under $35 per person without tax/tip), it is AYCE.

So excited to have found this place. So many delicious meats, mushrooms, and seafood to try I couldn't try it all in one trip. We got both the hot pot and the kbbq (seems like the best way to do it). I got the Szechuan broth spicy and it certainly was spicy , I might go down a notch next time. My one real complaint was they have Pepsi products, but that's not a huge deal. We'll definitely be back for more!

Guys run don't walk here!!! Our waiter was Richard! He was awesome! He worked his a** off. He was attentive and super nice. The restaurant set up is cute. It's bright and spacious. We ordered both hot pot and bbq. There's a huge selection of meats and veggies to choose from. Several different kinds of noodles and a few hot food items like wings and spring rolls. $37 for all you can eat steak, veggies and seafood. You can't beat that!

Not my favorite hot pot. The spicy hot pot had about 15-20 dried peppers which made it impossible to fish out the items I was cooking. I had to pick them out in order to find the items I was cooking. The complimentary rice was old. The meat was really bad quality. It was mushy and gritty when cooked. The sauce bar had the sauces lined up one in front of the other so ppl were dropping sauces in other sauces and cilantro / onion in other sauces. It should be either horizontal or staggered. Could've had more variety of items.

I came here with my brothers for the first time and I've enjoyed everything about this place. The hotpot soups were very tasty and flavorful. The meat quality here is very fresh. The service was also very great and they were very attentive to our needs. I would definitely recommend coming here with a big group of people as there is a lot of great options and also good drinks.

We ate at the Volcano Hot Pot & BBQ on a Sunday evening in the earlier hours for dinner and were greeted warmly at the host stand and seated immediately at a table and Mateo our server came by and greeted us and gave us an overview of the restaurant for our first visit. On weekends you have a max time limit of 90 minutes with weekdays at 2 hours. It's plenty of time and we had plenty of time leftover. You can opt for hot pot or BBQ or both (it's only $5 difference in price to do both). We ordered a bottle of wine for $25 and went by to figure out the buffet line setup. You can start on the back wall with light salad and appetizers and then select a few different hot pot mix in items as you start to eat the main entrees. Only get a few things at a time as you figure out what you do and don't like because they charge you for excess food waste (charge per pound). We didn't have any issue with this but I could see this being an issue if you have a huge plate of raw meat on your table and don't use it. All food quality was really good and all of the meat was really tasty and fresh. Also the buffet was so clean and presented nicely and the staff was always tending to it and cleaning up. It was an amazing experience and staff were all so nice. We look forward to returning!

From the moment we walked in, a robot host escorted us to our table such a fun touch! Our waitress Carolina was great! We chose our base soups, then explored the buffet to pick all the fresh toppings we wanted to add to our ramen. Everything was clean, well-stocked, and super flavorful. We also got passion fruit margaritas, which were amazing and went perfectly with the meal. It was a really fun, interactive experience great for a casual dinner or a unique night out. Highly recommend if you're looking for something different and delicious in Fort Lauderdale!

I'd read about this place when it opened a while ago. We decided to try it the other evening. It was really good. This is a hot pot and BBQ restaurant. Every table has a heating element for the BBQ experience and individual heaters for the hot pots. We chose hot pot. In many hot pot restaurants, you choose the type of soup and the stuff you want - meats, vegetables, and more. Here there is a long buffet area where you choose whatever it is you want to emerse into the soup. I chose mostly seafood and vegetables though a large variety of meats were available. It was all delicious. Alex our waiter was most helpful in explaining how the system worked, in refilling our water, and just chatting. If you have room fresh fruit, some cakes and ice cream is available.

We walked in on a Thursday around 5:30pm and the place was packed! We grabbed some menus and made the line and ordered some amber ales, wings, sliders and shrimp tacos. First off the amber ale was so cold and refreshing. It was definitely what we wanted and at the perfect tone for our meal. The Korean BBQ wings were phenomenal! They were sweet and savory and piping hot. Our table literally fought over who would get the last one lol! The shrimp tacos were my personal favorite. They were garlicky and light and yet so filling. I didn't try the sliders but my boyfriend ate them all up and said he could have easily ordered more so I'm gonna say they were a hit. The bartender who took our order and servers couldn't have been nicer! They even wished us a safe flight and genuinely cared about how we enjoyed our meal. The place itself is also really cool and would be a fun place to hang out. I've already recommended them to my friends who had flights later that week which all told me they now have a new favorite pre airport spot. I actually stopped going for a while due to consistently poor service, but a few weeks ago I decided to bring some friends and give it another try. Unfortunately, it was the same disappointing experience. The bartender truly sets the tone for a place -- and in this case, it completely missed the mark. We were ignored until we flagged her down to place our food and drink order, despite there only being a handful of people there. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt and assume she was having an off day. It didn't improve. My friend ordered a simple tap beer and didn't receive it until halfway through her meal -- with no apology. It felt like pouring a draft beer was an inconvenience. To make matters worse, I handed the bartender $40 to cover a $15 tab, and she kept the change without clarification. We were also charged for drinks we never ordered or received, so definitely review your bill carefully. Another surprise: if you want lettuce, tomato, or onion on your burger, each item costs an additional $1. That felt excessive for basic toppings. The most concerning part? There was a cat walking across the bar and around the food service area. I love animals, but that's simply not appropriate in a food establishment. It's unfortunate because Boston Johnny's has the potential to be a fun local spot. However, the atmosphere feels unwelcoming and careless. I gave it three or four chances before writing this review, and the experience was consistently the same. I hope ownership takes notice before more locals decide not to return. We won't be back.
