Server came by which was Alex great Server couple minutes passed by. They started getting a little overwhelming on the side we were sitting. I had ask alex for rice never came back got too busy had to get myself up to tell the host if she can send someone. Unfortunately alex was too behide to even check on our drinks for refiles or anything really. what got me upset is that Alex the Server got slammed with so many tables mostly with a 10 top that I saw, which is not ok. How are you gonna put one Server on the side of the floor plan with so many tables on a SUNDAY AFTERNOON and as much as the host was super sweet she should've hold the door and kept an eye on the Server to see how he was doing. Till Alex was drowning a women Yasmin could be wrong about the name but she came and assisted not even the upper highs came by and I blame the managers. Managers because I did not see not one and if I did, they were either sitting down eating or walking around demanding or telling Alex to do certain stuff. I was mad observing, they was not helping they acted like they were doing things and that's upsetting as a manager. You're supposed to be there for your employees regardless, but clearly they're lazy and just care about getting people down and sat but honestly it's not about how much people you bring in, It's about the experience they leave out with. Super upsetting I was excited to come here and on top of that AC seem like it was not working at all. I understand we are in front of a grill but come on now, I've went to other Korean bbq places and it's not as hot as I felt in there. We all shortly after getting home we all question each other and came to the conclusion that this dinner made us all sick. Even the baby! The food was over priced, the miso broth was horrendous. No one at the table liked it. I requested to sample the curry broth before choosing my broth and it was terrible as well. I had to ask if they even gave me the right broth because it didn't taste like curry at all. I played it safe by choosing miso which tasted like dirty tap water. Everyone else who got the miso agreed. The lamb for KBBQ had an old taste. While the selection of items was pretty good, it was unfortunate there was no broth to eat it with. The dessert selection is poor. The chocolate mouse cake tasted like chemicals. The cookies were stale and the ice cream choice wasn't too good either. As much as we like to go to local restaurants, this one just didn't do it for anyone in our party. It's very unfortunate because the place is beautiful. One recommendation is that there is a option to purchase a plate vs all you can eat. One person in our party had bariatric surgery and was not able to take advantage of the all you can eat. Yes why come to an all you can eat if you can't "all you can eat"? We went for the birthday celebration, but most all you can eat restaurants offer a paid plate option. This works best for me as I am more of pork, chicken and seafood person while family is big on beef. Everyone gets to pick rather than getting a huge portion of meat that you struggle to finish( or try to hide underneath the lettuce to avoid wastage charges, lol) There is a wide variety of marinated meats as well as thinly sliced selection for hot pot. My best friend and I went to Volcano Hot Pot & BBQ in Oakwood Plaza (Hollywood) on a Friday night. Overall, this is one of the better hot pot/Korean BBQ places I've been to in the area. Pricing was $38.99 per adult for hot pot and BBQ and $21.99 for kids, which is pretty average for this type of all-you-can-eat hot pot/Korean BBQ, especially for the amount of variety they offer. One thing to know -- the veggies and a lot of the hot pot items are self-serve. I'll be honest, I'm a bit of a germaphobe, so normally I'm not a huge fan of that. But everything was actually very organized, clean, and constantly being restocked. Nothing looked picked over or messy, which made me feel a lot better about it. The Korean BBQ meat selection was really impressive. They had New York strip, different types of chicken and beef, beef bulgogi, and even salmon for the grill, which you don't see everywhere. For hot pot, there was a good variety of proteins -- chicken, beef, pork, lamb, and beef tongue (which I was happy to see). They also had some more adventurous options like tripe, "hairy beef," and even uterus... I'm adventurous, but not that adventurous . The veggie selection was solid. They didn't have sweet potato (which I usually look for), but they did have pumpkin, which we love. There were also lots of mushrooms (enoki, king oyster, etc.) and plenty of greens like bok choy. The sauce bar was great with a lot of options -- gochujang, chili oils, sesame oil, garlic, green onion, chili paste, and several house sauces (mild and spicy). They also had kimchi and pickled radishes, which I always appreciate for gut health. Dessert was actually better than most places like this. Not just ice cream -- they had cookies, fruit (fresh oranges and peach syrup slices), and different cakes including a tiramisu-style sponge cake, plus a strawberry whipped mousse. They also have a full bar, and something I've never seen at a hot pot place before -- Thai teas, boba drinks, and coffee. The whole place felt very family-friendly overall. The booths are more private compared to places like Lemongrass, which made it feel more comfortable and helped cut down on the noise. Service was okay but not as attentive as Master Ba's. Water refills were a little slow, and at one point our grill stopped working and the manager had to come fix it (they fixed it quickly). Also, just be aware there's a time limit -- 90 minutes during peak/weekend times and 120 minutes during off-peak. I get it because the place gets busy, but it's also annoying since you feel rushed.. less rest and digest. The bathrooms were clean and the restaurant overall looked well maintained, which I always pay attention to. Overall, I would come back. They have more broth options than competitors, including Korean seafood and tom yum, and you can control the spice level. You get your sauce and ingredients at a large buffet bar. We ate at the Volcano Hot Pot & BBQ on a Sunday evening in the earlier hours for dinner and were greeted warmly at the host stand and seated immediately at a table and Mateo our server came by and greeted us and gave us an overview of the restaurant for our first visit. On weekends you have a max time limit of 90 minutes with weekdays at 2 hours. It's plenty of time and we had plenty of time leftover. You can opt for hot pot or BBQ or both (it's only $5 difference in price to do both). We ordered a bottle of wine for $25 and went by to figure out the buffet line setup. You can start on the back wall with light salad and appetizers and then select a few different hot pot mix in items as you start to eat the main entrees. Only get a few things at a time as you figure out what you do and don't like because they charge you for excess food waste (charge per pound). We didn't have any issue with this but I could see this being an issue if you have a huge plate of raw meat on your table and don't use it. All food quality was really good and all of the meat was really tasty and fresh. Also the buffet was so clean and presented nicely and the staff was always tending to it and cleaning up. Every table has a heating element for the BBQ experience and individual heaters for the hot pots. We chose hot pot. In many hot pot restaurants, you choose the type of soup and the stuff you want - meats, vegetables, and more. Here there is a long buffet area where you choose whatever it is you want to emerse into the soup. I chose mostly seafood and vegetables though a large variety of meats were available. There were a lot of different options to choose from for hot pot and bbq. Some of the stuff however were not to our liking in the bbq meats. The seasoning for some of the meats were too strong and overpowering our pallets. Our service was also not that great. Our service didn't turn out the grill for us so we had to figure out how to do. Located in the Oakwood Plaza in Hollywood, where the old Sweet Tomatoes was homed, Volcano Hot Pot & Korean BBQ has lots of parking. The restaurant is bright and clean and modern. You can have a hot pot meal or a BBQ grill meal for about $33 each or get both for about $38. You have 90 minutes to eat (and cook) as much as you want. We opted for the hot pot only, because we recently had Korean BBQ and wanted the hot pot experience. Whether doing hot pot or the BBQ grill, you fetch your own ingredients from a buffet. I liked that. You're not waiting for items to be brought to you. Of course, you are warned not to overstock your plates because there could be a surcharge for too much leftover food. But it is easy enough to pace yourself. And what an array of offerings. Lots of red meat, tons of veggies, and a plethora of seafood (my favorite). There are dumplings and yams and mushrooms. There is also an area with salads (the seaweed and radish salads were my favorites). There are cooked offerings, including spring rolls, potatoes, and fried chicken wings (which were delicious and had a slight curry flavor). You choose your soup base and the pot is placed on the burner for you. You get your ingredients, cook, and then eat. Of the three we tried, we loved the Thai curry soup base and the Korean Seafood. The latter being our top choice. I overdosed on seafood: shrimp, squid, crab, scallops, lobster balls. I also had dumplings, yams, and two kinds of mushrooms, as well as quail eggs. While my food cooked in a curry broth I feasted on seaweed, a radish salad, and a curried chicken wing. If you still have room, there is a small selection of desserts. It is nothing spectacular. But the oranges were the juiciest, and there are three flavors of ice cream available in individual cups. The chocolate ice cream paired nicely with some lychee. The meal cost about $43 each, including tax and tip. And I think it was well worth it for the top-notch food we ate. Our server, Richard, was very congenial and helpful. And when my husband didn't like his soup base (pork bone), Richard gladly switched it. There is no doubt about it. We will be back and plan to introduce the place to some friends. read more

Been wanting to check out this new spot in town. Came here with a big group of 12 people. Volcano Hot Pot & BBQ opened about 4 months ago. They are located in Hollywood at Oakwood Plaza. Close to Topeekeegee Yugnee Park. We inquired about reservations for our large group on a Saturday night but they said it wasn't necessary, and they don't accept reservations. We arrived early and they wouldn't seat us until everyone arrived. Understandable. Once we had our full party, they sat us immediately. It wasn't super busy at that time so we were good, as they confirmed. We were split into 2 large booths. Our server was Bianca and another young lady at the booth next door, I'm so sorry I honestly didn't get her name. She had short black curly hair and wore glasses. They were both wonderful and took good care of our group. We opted for the hot pot option for our group as they said the entire table has to match options. We usually go to Chow One for Korean BBQ so I was stoked to try the hot pot option. This is for an all you can eat option too. Adults are $32.99/pp and kids are $17.99/pp (child 3-5 ft tall or kids over 5 ft or age 12 will be charged adult prices). The height and age thing for kids was interesting. Be warned there is also a 2-hour limit for these AYCE experiences. Here is how it goes down: HOT POT INSTRUCTIONS 1. Pick soup base with server. 2. Go to buffet section to pick protein & veggies. 3. Create your own dipping sauce at sauce bar. 4. Add your protein & veggies to broth. Cook accordingly. 5. Enjoy! We had a wonderful time and the food was abundant. Our table picked 5 different soup bases so we can try all of them. I personally got the Korean Seafood Soup which was really good but my favorite is the Thai Curry Soup, it tasted very similar to a Thai lemongrass soup base. Very light and not heavy at all, more lemongrass flavors than curry actually. I snagged the following proteins/veggies: bok choy, cabbage, spinach, mushrooms, tofu, blue crab, snow crabs, shrimp, udon noodles, sweet potato noodles. I created my own dipping sauce with a sesame base and added fried garlic, cilantro, green onions, chili garlic sauce. My dipping sauce was so tasty. We brought in a birthday cake to celebrate our friend's birthday too. Bianca got the cake and recruited like 6 servers to make the birthday singing a big commotion and spoiled our girl with a celebratory happy birthday song! The large group in a booth setting was challenging for people getting in and out to head to buffet or just getting up and coming back. Ha. Would be so much easier with regular chairs at tables. New year, new hot pot spot! Volcano Hot Pot & BBQ is in Hollywood, right near where the Dave & Buster's is. My cousins and I have seen this pop up on Yelp and around social media so we were excited to give a try on New Year's Day. We were a group of 7 and did have a bit of a wait for dinner but it wasn't too bad. They are definitely newly opened and seemed to still be getting some of their bearings together but overall, it didn't take too long to get seated and the staff was helpful. The place itself is very clean and pristine. Bright inside and mainly has booth seating. If you have a big party and sit at the 6 person booth (which all 7 of us fit in), this is a bit hard to get in and out of, especially because everything is buffet-style. Also, although they did accomodate us to for faster seating with a 6 seat table with 7 of us, not all of us got hot pot because of this but still had to charge us as if all of us had our own hot pot bowl. Understandable circumstances but still a bit odd to me. For the food, they had a great selection of everything. For KBBQ, they didn't have brisket which I feel is a staple for this style of BBQ and although you could probably use the hot pot meat for this, it isn't quite the same. I think I much rather the selection for hot pot so would recommend just doing that. Although that's what I recommend, paying $5 more for both is a pretty good deal. They had each area sectioned off pretty well according to what you were looking for and had a great variety. Our server was super friendly and prompt, making sure we were always attended to and refilled any drinks. It's our first time so we decided to do both to get the full experience. We get our own personal hot pot of broth (there are a few flavors to pick from) and a communal BBQ grill in the center of the table. The array of food available is quite impressive, and having both the pot and the grill makes it fun, like I can cook my dumpling a bit then finish on the grill. Also, grab some garlic from the sauce station and grill yourself some garlic butter scallop, yum!! That said... I can't give it 5 Stars because the meat could be better quality. I know, with food cost nowadays what do I expect for $35 AYCE? But so many of the cuts were chewy I couldn't eat them. Nothing like a brand new restaurant! And what's better than having both hot pot AND Korean BBQ in the same place!!! Love that we found this place, the parking lot is huge, the restaurant is huge, and tons of options! We tried the spicy Szechuan and the pork broth for the hot pot and they were both delicious! There were plenty of servers around and they checked in on us multiple times which was great! The price was also great, specially if you want both options. The location has great music, it's very quiet since they just recently opened, and they keep pop music in the background which makes it nice and fun. I highly recommend it, specially if you can't decide between hotpot and Korean BBQ. read more

New all you can eat Korean BBQ spot and Hotpot spot located in the oakwood plaza in Hollywood Fl. This restaurant was clean and the bbq and hot pot options were huge. From crab legs to steak, salmon and soooo much more. The service was great and definitely got my moneys worth with all the seafood I ate. Definitely will leave stuffed. read more

Stepped it to grab lunch. Had no idea what this place was and was I surprised. Turned out I get to cook whatever I want. I have never been to one of these places before. Keep in mind I live across the street from here so not sure how I missed this place. It was elegant and had everything presented so well. Service was great by Destiny. She joyfully showed me how the system here works. Added a bit of fun to my dining experience. The variety of food was impressive too. From the cuts of steak, chicken and all the seafood. Everything looked extremely fresh. Wait what? Desert included too. Ok I'm in. Lastly, the place was immaculate and well maintained. Believe it or not this is make or break for me.
