I love the Volcano restaurant chains. Their Hibachi & sushi is delicious! I normally visit the Kennesaw location, but I stumbled upon Hiram's location recently. We were originally going to dine in for Hibachi, but this location also serves AYCE( all you can eat) KBBQ & Hot pot. It is one big restaurant, but it has a hibachi and sushi side, as well as a Korean barbecue and hot pot side. So if you want Korean barbecue, it's gonna be on the other side of the building. They can't bring hibachi/sushi menu foods to your table if you do the Korean barbecue and hot pot, and vice versa. I'm not the biggest fan of places like KPOT/kbbq & hot pot, but my friend was visiting us from out of the country. He insisted we do the kbbq & hot pot side of the restaurant. I do like volcano, restaurants, even though I don't typically like doing both barbecue and hot pot I decided to give volcano a chance. The reason why I don't like these places is because the meat is usually cut too thin so it's better to be on hot pot. But the seasoning and the hot pot is usually not the best so it's better to eat it on the grill . I opted to do only the Korean barbecue only, but if you want hot pot, it's a five dollar up charge. You can't just do only hot pot. My friend ended up getting both because he really wanted to try hot pot. Despite the name being korean barbecue, they actually had a lot of Chinese seasoning. If you look in the picture below, there is a Chinese barbecue seasoning. It's delicious. I love this dry rub that you can dip your meat into. I seriously think the dry rub was the best seasoning they had on the sauce bar. The sauce bar you could make your own sauces, as well as get some Korean side dishes, like kimchi and radish. They also have a small buffet area where they have noodles, Rangoon, dumplings, french fries, chicken nuggets. I really like their stirfry noodles. It was really flavorful! I highly recommend also getting some of the appetizers on the menu that is not on the buffet. They have corn cheese,Ramen, Korean rice cakes, veggie dishes, and more. I really liked the beef radish stew. I think I had four bowls of this. It was delicious, the beef was so tender, and the broth was just so flavorful. It's funny because my friend also tried the soup and he agreed the beef soup had more flavor than his hot pot . I did notice a problem with the meat being too thin for the grill because it burnt very fast and it sometimes stuck to the grill, but it wasn't as bad as their competitors K-Pot kbbq. Our server was very kind enough to change the grill anytime it got super dirty or if too much meat stuck on the grill. I also liked that the grill was really hot and it actually cooked our food. This is the main reason why I don't do both. I prefer going to a restaurant that specializes in Korean barbecue or go to a restaurant that specializes in hot pot. Despite our grill being very hot, I noticed mine friends hot pot took a long time to boil. I made sure his stove was actually on and it was on the highest setting. I took about an hour for his hot pot to actually start boiling, they do bring in pimping hot pot broth at the beginning. He was still able to cook his meats, but vegetables and thicker cuts of meat, took him a long time to cook. Oddly enough, the star of the show for us was the drinks and the desserts. We ordered three lychee bubble tea. It is a little on the sweeter side so I would mix it in with a little water or ask for a less sugar. But it was really refreshing and delicious. They have a few desserts like Chinese donuts, sesame balls, and a whole ice cream cooler. The ice cream was great. It's individually wrapped, and had three flavors, vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Their service here is very nice. I was greeted by other servers and staff. I also like seeing that they feed the staff. There was a little corner where the staff was able to eat, which always makes me so happy to know that they take care of the them. Would I come here again? Probably but I'm sticking to only Korean barbecue. Only because the hot pot took forever to actually boil, and I preferred the dry rub which taste better with grilled meats. I would come here often if it was Korean barbecue with revolving sushi. I love volcano's sushi, and if they did Korean barbecue with it. That is a dangerous combo for me. I would be here every weekend.

Glad we return because they separated how you can order and it is perfect for those who like different eats.! Well done and we love the robot drink deliver system

New Korean BBQ place alert! I visited today! Despite having to wait a bit for a table because the staff were not ready yet at 11:15 (their opening time) I was impressed with the restaurant's extended parking lot, very nice ambiance, and great interior decor. The quality of the meat was decent, but not the most scrumptious I've ever had for the price ($39.99/person). It was also a pity that the grill had some issues, which made us wait for quite some time, so my white rice ended up cold and my husband resorted to eating more of his fried rice than the meat because fixing the grill took so long. At one point, the fire had blasted almost on our faces... (lol scared the hell out of us) One good thing was that the server was being really helpful in assisting us throughout our meal. We were also informed later during our third round that they serve dinner on Saturdays and Sundays, I thought I was paying for the 19.99, which I wish we had known sooner since we weren't able to try all the options (we had hawaiian bulgogi, the other type of bulgogi, pork belly, and brisket - the latter of which wasn't part of the lunch menu but interestingly only offered as part of the dinner menu). In retrospect, I think if I were to visit again, I'd opt for their hotpot, which has more options for different broths and ingredients to mix things up. I think we would have had a better experience. However, one standout for me was their tea options! I'm a big fan of passion tea, but I find that many places make it too sweet. This spot's version was on point - one of the best I've had in the metropolitan area! I'd definitely recommend checking out their fruit tea options! I almost wanted to buy a second cup to go. I can see myself stopping by just for tea to go. Overall, while there were a few hiccups, I appreciated the effort the staff put in (especially our very personable server!) and the general vibe of the place. Perfect for Korean BBQ lover like me. I hope they will continue to improve and I look forward to going back for the hotpot! Did I mention the bathroom was really clean!? :)

Food for the hot pot was fresh and well seasoned, the buffet was good, and the service was friendly! We enjoyed it! Prepare to spend $80 for a dinner and sodas for two people. Add extra if you want alcohol. We went on a Thursday afternoon around 4 p.m. and there was no crowd, so we had no wait at all.

This was my first time here. We were greeted upon entry, but could not be seated until our entire party arrived. So, waited at the bar. I ordered a Mai tai, and it was strong but good. Once we got to our table, our waitress explained everything to us. You get two meats at time to cook. You get access to the bar which had fried rice, chicken, veggies, dessert, and some fruit. I don't like the fact that there's a two hour limit and you have to cook your own food. (We had a party of 4) I think 2.5 would be better. The food was delicious, but be prepared to spend some money. It was my birthday so a robot sang to me and I got a nice set of chopsticks with utensils. I would definitely go back.

Had a wonderful dinner with the family tonight. Customer service was A+. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive but so was everyone else that worked there that passed by our table. Sides were tasty. Everything was well seasoned. Lots of variety and choices. Also love the hot bar buffet. Ambiance was lovely. Bathrooms were clean and well constructed. Vibrant place and the kids loved that they had boba and it came to table via robot. Yay we got cool points as parents for bringing them somewhere cool

Waters were left empty several times for extended periods of time. Additionally, staff will not provide you with the items you ordered - there were several times that we placed an order via the iPad provided, nothing would come out, and then we'd have to flag down our server to check. All that aside, food is great. The 2 real highlights are the beef belly and spicy beef bulgogi. Beef belly is so delicious and fatty - let it crisp up on the grill and just eat it without anything. It has a ton of flavor already. Make sure to order multiple beef belly at a time as the quantities are pretty small, and they could even smaller once cooked. The spicy beef bulgogi is also really delicious with a great marinade. The regular beef bulgogi is fine, nothing to complain about. The beef brisket is below average. Garlic shrimp is good if you're looking for that. Appetizer-wise I really like the chicken nuggets and fries here. The nuggets are quite reminiscent of a better version of McDonald's. The fries are fried a couple times and have great texture, crunch, and flavor. Make sure to make your own sauces at the sauce bar. I always recommend one sauce of sesame oil and salt. Make sure to just put a LITTLE sesame oil as you need to be able to get the salt on the meat as you eat it. Other than that sauce, go wild with your imagination! Value is outstanding here. For lunch, just Korean bbq or hotpot is $20.99. Dinner is $30.99. And if you want to do both bbq and hotpot, just add $5 to either total. If your birthday is within 3 days of your visit and you come in as a group of 4+, your meal is free. They are strict on the date being +\- 3 days. Overall, still my favorite KBBQ chain and continues to be quite solid!

The Chinese herbal soup was really flavorful. When the meat was soaking in it, I could taste the flavor that was soaked through. I highly recommend this base. The spicy soup was extra, but the reasoning they said was because it's from China. And even getting the very mild was pretty spicy. The concept of going to the four fridges and grabbing your hot pot ingredients was interesting. It's such a waste of skewers though! But the fridge had veggies, skewered meats, seafood, noodles, and much more. Since this is an all you can eat place, you can grab any item freely. I do think they will charge you if there's excess food leftover. Well, says the sign anyway. The lamb and beef were the only two free meat options, but you can order this as much as you can eat. The brown sugar rice cake and crispy fried pork were very unique items that's also in the unlimited menu option. There was also interesting tidbits at the bar area near the sauce bar like beef jerky bits, peanuts, and sweet potato balls with a taro interior. Overall very unique ingredients you can order or extra menu items like pig brain, duck jelly, duck tongue among others. Our group didn't venture into trying these though. The ingredients already included were just as good though.

For our broth bases, I chose the Mara while my boyfriend picked the Deungchon-- both were flavorful and great choices. While waiting for our hot pots and meat, I checked out the hot bar, which had side dishes like tteokbokki, japchae, fried rice, and more. I had some dishes from the bar as little appetizers, and they were tasty. For meats, we mostly ordered the non-fatty beef, brisket, and rib-eye. The meat quality was good. My boyfriend also ordered a round of clams and mussels. I personally wasn't too interested because they looked a bit unappealing, but he said they were okay. As a quick intermission from the shabu, we both enjoyed the shaved ice dessert. Unfortunately, near the end of our dining experience, while finishing our last plate of meat, my boyfriend noticed something crawling on the table. He lifted the water cup and found an inchworm. We think it may have come from one of the vegetables we grabbed earlier. We notified our server, who simply squished it and asked if we wanted a new cup. We declined and decided to leave. The inchworm incident definitely brought the experience down significantly, even though it happened near the end of our meal, and it honestly made me consider giving this place only two stars. However, I'm hoping it was just an unlucky mistake because I otherwise enjoyed 9292 Shabu and hope they improve their sanitation practices moving forward.
