My good friend Kiki doesn't get to come to Atlanta as often as we would like bc she is always traveling, but this week she came for less than 24hrs. to see our place in Dville and hang out. My other friend Shel-bel worked till 5pm and we were looking for something in between our homes and settled on this yummy establishment. About 15-20min from both our homes and not super crowded for Thurs. evening. Not sure if they even take reservations, but kids eat free on Thurs. and you know most kids only eat 2/3 items and well they are full. Except until they hear the word Ice Cream. lol We had two options to pick from Hot Pot or Korean BBQ. As long as the whole table picked the same item no extra fee so we went with Hot Pot. It's finally starting to cool down so this was a perfect evening for some soup!! They have a variety of broths, meats and veggies to pick from. First, they bring out your broth and turn on the eye to heat up your bowl. Then your meat and veggies are brought out in little dishes and you each make your own soup. Kiki picked out some seasonings and that spiced up our broth. Mmmm. Oooh yeah I forgot there is even a bar that comes with both meals that has some light appetizers and desserts. Let's just say we prob. sat there for the max dining time of 2 hrs. and tried just about everything that was brought out and on the buffet. It was a fun evening!! It was delicious and ooh I almost forgot the lil ordered a boba tea and their robot kitty delivered it to our table. Fun experience even if you are cooking your own food. I love the Volcano restaurant chains. Their Hibachi & sushi is delicious! I normally visit the Kennesaw location, but I stumbled upon Hiram's location recently. We were originally going to dine in for Hibachi, but this location also serves AYCE( all you can eat) KBBQ & Hot pot. It is one big restaurant, but it has a hibachi and sushi side, as well as a Korean barbecue and hot pot side. So if you want Korean barbecue, it's gonna be on the other side of the building. They can't bring hibachi/sushi menu foods to your table if you do the Korean barbecue and hot pot, and vice versa. I'm not the biggest fan of places like KPOT/kbbq & hot pot, but my friend was visiting us from out of the country. He insisted we do the kbbq & hot pot side of the restaurant. I do like volcano, restaurants, even though I don't typically like doing both barbecue and hot pot I decided to give volcano a chance. The reason why I don't like these places is because the meat is usually cut too thin so it's better to be on hot pot. But the seasoning and the hot pot is usually not the best so it's better to eat it on the grill . I opted to do only the Korean barbecue only, but if you want hot pot, it's a five dollar up charge. You can't just do only hot pot. My friend ended up getting both because he really wanted to try hot pot. Despite the name being korean barbecue, they actually had a lot of Chinese seasoning. If you look in the picture below, there is a Chinese barbecue seasoning. It's delicious. I love this dry rub that you can dip your meat into. I seriously think the dry rub was the best seasoning they had on the sauce bar. The sauce bar you could make your own sauces, as well as get some Korean side dishes, like kimchi and radish. They also have a small buffet area where they have noodles, Rangoon, dumplings, french fries, chicken nuggets. I really like their stirfry noodles. It was really flavorful! I highly recommend also getting some of the appetizers on the menu that is not on the buffet. They have corn cheese,Ramen, Korean rice cakes, veggie dishes, and more. I really liked the beef radish stew. I think I had four bowls of this. It was delicious, the beef was so tender, and the broth was just so flavorful. It's funny because my friend also tried the soup and he agreed the beef soup had more flavor than his hot pot . I did notice a problem with the meat being too thin for the grill because it burnt very fast and it sometimes stuck to the grill, but it wasn't as bad as their competitors K-Pot kbbq. Our server was very kind enough to change the grill anytime it got super dirty or if too much meat stuck on the grill. I also liked that the grill was really hot and it actually cooked our food. This is the main reason why I don't do both. I prefer going to a restaurant that specializes in Korean barbecue or go to a restaurant that specializes in hot pot. Despite our grill being very hot, I noticed mine friends hot pot took a long time to boil. I made sure his stove was actually on and it was on the highest setting. I took about an hour for his hot pot to actually start boiling, they do bring in pimping hot pot broth at the beginning. He was still able to cook his meats, but vegetables and thicker cuts of meat, took him a long time to cook. Oddly enough, the star of the show for us was the drinks and the desserts. We ordered three lychee bubble tea. It is a little on the sweeter side so I would mix it in with a little water or ask for a less sugar. But it was really refreshing and delicious. They have a few desserts like Chinese donuts,sesame balls, and a whole ice cream cooler. The ice cream was great. It's individually wrapped, and had three flavors, vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Their service here is very nice. I was greeted by other servers and staff. I also like seeing that they feed the staff. There was a little corner where the staff was able to eat, which always makes me so happy to know that they take care of the them. Would I come here again? Probably but I'm sticking to only Korean barbecue. Only because the hot pot took forever to actually boil, and I preferred the dry rub which taste better with grilled meats. I would come here often if it was Korean barbecue with revolving sushi. I love volcano's sushi, and if they did Korean barbecue with it. That is a dangerous combo for me. I came here to celebrate my son's birthday. First the waiter looked sad, mad or just plain. Tired. Then it took about 20 for them to start cooking. The soup tasted like chicken noodle.soup. The lo mein noodles looked like Spajetti noodles, the chef cooked the salmon too long so it was very dry. The chef also kept the rice cooking too long so it was burnt. And when the people came out to play the drums for his birthday the guy looked like "just get thus over with". New Korean BBQ place alert! I visited today! Despite having to wait a bit for a table because the staff were not ready yet at 11:15 (their opening time) I was impressed with the restaurant's extended parking lot, very nice ambiance, and great interior decor. The quality of the meat was decent, but not the most scrumptious I've ever had for the price ($39.99/person). It was also a pity that the grill had some issues, which made us wait for quite some time, so my white rice ended up cold and my husband resorted to eating more of his fried rice than the meat because fixing the grill took so long. At one point, the fire had blasted almost on our faces... (lol scared the hell out of us) One good thing was that the server was being really helpful in assisting us throughout our meal. We were also informed later during our third round that they serve dinner on Saturdays and Sundays, I thought I was paying for the 19.99, which I wish we had known sooner since we weren't able to try all the options (we had hawaiian bulgogi, the other type of bulgogi, pork belly, and brisket - the latter of which wasn't part of the lunch menu but interestingly only offered as part of the dinner menu). In retrospect, I think if I were to visit again, I'd opt for their hotpot, which has more options for different broths and ingredients to mix things up. I think we would have had a better experience. However, one standout for me was their tea options! I'm a big fan of passion tea, but I find that many places make it too sweet. This spot's version was on point - one of the best I've had in the metropolitan area! I'd definitely recommend checking out their fruit tea options! I almost wanted to buy a second cup to go. I can see myself stopping by just for tea to go. Overall, while there were a few hiccups, I appreciated the effort the staff put in (especially our very personable server!) and the general vibe of the place. Perfect for Korean BBQ lover like me. To have to cook your own food would have been okay, but for forty dollars.And only having the option to choose one.Soup base, and then that soup base is extremely bland was highly disappointing. This was my first time here. We were greeted upon entry, but could not be seated until our entire party arrived. So, waited at the bar. I ordered a Mai tai, and it was strong but good. Once we got to our table, our waitress explained everything to us. You get two meats at time to cook. You get access to the bar which had fried rice, chicken, veggies, dessert, and some fruit. I don't like the fact that there's a two hour limit and you have to cook your own food. (We had a party of 4) I think 2.5 would be better. The food was delicious, but be prepared to spend some money. Wing flings which were actually decent, small hard fried ragoon, hard fried spring & philly rolls, dry french fries, which are never good in a buffet unless u get them fresh when they first come out & dried lo mein noodles, anywho... for $40 my fiance had 9 wing flings & dry lo mein noodles from the buffet which he left in his plate & iced tea. I had 3 wings from the buffet, tatsed the lo mein & is was dry so I did ot eat it & the 3 meats & mixed vegetables included in our meal & water. We only ordered one single serving (NOTHING MORE/NOTHING EXTRA). Of course, since my fiance was barely eating I could not finish. He asked if we could take the remainder of the food he already paid for & the waitress said nicely but with her whole chest that it would be an EXTRA $14 to take the remaining meal ALEADY PAID FOR. Came here on a Wednesday to celebrate my friend's birthday. There is plenty of free parking here and it wasn't busy this day so I got a spot right up front which was nice because it was cold when we left. When we walked in they wouldn't seat us until all of our party arrive so we sat at the bar. Honestly I felt as though we could have been sat seeing as how it was pretty empty but rules are rules I guess. While at the bar we ordered our drinks which were made pretty well. It's usually hard to get a good Mai Tai and the bartender did not disappoint. Once we were able to be seated we enjoyed the all you can eat buffet along with the unlimited choice of meats and veggies. Heads up, you will need to cook your own meats and veggies. The waitress comes around every so often but we the majority of the work is on you so don't let your food burn (we did at least once smh). They will come and replace the cooking plate so that was helpful. We also tried Soju for the first time. We tried the strawberry flavor which tasted like flavored water but had a 13% or so alcohol content so beware lol. Overall I left full and happy. I will not be returning to this establishment, it's a rip off. I came here for the first time with family. We came during the day and for a group of 15, the bill came to $900 because someone picked some things off the dinner menu, which bumped our per person price of $19.99 to $34.99. I didn't even eat any of the food cooked at the table. I was hungry so I got a plate of noodles and two wings from the buffet to hold me over. To pay that price where you have to cook your own food and to have a gimmicky robot to deliver your drinks to your table is outrageous. read more

They don't explain pricing very well and when I requested to know why lunch and dinner prices were different the manager rudely told me to "read the sign" even though there was not a sign. My husband and I had dinner here with a couple of friends. It has recently opened and I think they're still working some things out so I want to give grace in this review. The staff were nice and attentive but our waitress had a hard time answering a few questions we had about the menu and ingredients used. The four of us are foodies and had some specific questions about the food as we made our meat/seafood choices for hot pot and Korean BBQ. I assume she had not been there long enough to know how certain things were made/prepared. No big deal. I ordered scallops to go in my hot pot and there was a very obvious hair in the bowl. I didn't mention this to the server because she seemed busy and overwhelmed and didn't want to add one more thing for her to deal with. I just didn't eat it. The broth (Tom Yum for three of us, chicken broth for the other one) was bland and desperately needed seasoning. The bulgogi was delicious. The vegetables seemed fresh. The atmosphere was fun and there is a lot going on. There are screens everywhere playing sports games, robots carrying boba, flashing lights, a high level of noise. If you're looking for a lively place this is a good spot. If you're a quiet introvert like me, you may be a bit overwhelmed. Overall the experience was good. Do your research, I wish I had before coming. We came on a Saturday afternoon, fyi no lunch menu, dinner price all day. Food was okay the service was good until it came time for the check. The issue was my two kids (13 & 14) initially wanted the bbq and the hot pot ($40 a person). l just got the bbq($35 a person). Which is what I told the waiter when we sat down. They got the hot pot first and got full. They did not touch the grill which the waiter knew as he was constantly checking on us. I told the waiter they did not touch the grill... he basically said it is too late to change the check. When I asked to speak to the manager he also said they could not change the bill and no refunds "I can do a $5 gift receipt/card to write a review using the QR code at the table"... seriously! So I paid $80 for 2 bowls of ramen. I would have been fine to pay the money if they ate both the hot pot and the bbq, but they didn't and was charged/paid for it anyway. Broth's taste watered down, meats are portioned super small, you get random things because servers are too busy twirling their pigtails and on their phones. We asked for a booster seat 6 times to 4 different people and ended up finding a high chair after 30 minutes of waiting. I cannot say enough good about this place! There was a wait to be seated but the wait was not long at all -- maybe 10 minutes. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. My waitress, Makayla, was attentive and checked on me often. The "perfect manhattan" cocktail was delish! The manager, Asep, was checking on tables constantly and was very friendly and welcoming as well. I had hot pot tonight. The choices of protein, veggies, soup base and noodles was good.
