This place is worth the hype! All you can eat Korean BBQ, Sushi, and sides. They have so many different options to choose from when it comes to your proteins and sushi. I love that some of the meats are already seasoned and of course there some that are not where you have the option to season them yourself with salt and pepper and their sauces. All the sauces and sides are made in house so you know it's fresh. The service was excellent. Our waitress was so sweet. My husband and I showed up on a Saturday evening and it was packed! Came back recently with my camera and it's as good as before, service is also awesome and very friendly. I almost think it's better, I'm not sure if it's the meat being less frozen/more thawed, or the staff getting the hang of things- but either way, it's not only passable for KBBQ in LBK, I'd venture to say it's good even for larger cities! The ambiance is super nice and cozy/techie, and they have this funny dimming the lights type of rainforest cafe moment for people's birthdays. A couple of notes that they could improve on despite the restaurant being CLEARLY amazing, just some constructive criticism- Kimchi-jjigae needs more gochujang and more kick, the shrimp is appreciated, but maybe some more tofu would be better and thicker gochujang broth. Korean miso soup is just miso soup, if you're going for Doenjang-jjigae then it's gonna need a bit more flavor to stand out. More fermented soy, chili peppers, and garlic. Skewers were kind of sweet and orange chickeny. I get that they might be catering to the west Texas audience, but I think they underestimate us. We can handle it! Bring out the real Northern/Xinjiang Beef and Pork skewers with all the cumin on them and add the garlic chinese cucumber appetizer too. Corn cheese is way too sweet. Please remove the sweet sauce that's being used on it. Other than that, this place is bussin! All of this is just constructive criticism to keep improving the place and raising the level of Lubbock's East Asian food scene! :) Great job guys, keep it up! read more

Being new to Lubbock, finding a Korean BBQ was very nice. The service was amazing. Great customer service. The manager Jackson was very helpful and kind. I felt valued as a customer. Everything tastes delicious. Cooking your own meats, while getting assistance from the server allows you to cook to your preference and eat right away while it is nice and hot. I have been to Volkano about 4 times since they opened and have had a great experience each time! The meats are great quality and I love all of the side options (the soup and radishes are my favorite!). I have had Peter as my waiter several times and he is on top of his game, making sure our grill is cooking correctly and that we have what we need. Tried this place for the first time today. The hostess was nice. Our server said her name was Olivia. She was rude. She took my husband's order and disregard my turn to order food for the "all you can eat." When she brought the drinks she didn't even bother to wait for me to tell her what I wanted to order. I had to wait until she came to the table to drop off the sauces for the Korean BBQ order. I order 4 sushi rolls then my husband tried to order another sushi roll for himself. This rude ass waitress turn to me and said that I already order 6 sushi rolls. Not sure why she even has the nerve to say that when I only order 4 rolls. When my husband ask for a dragon roll for his order she said they were big rolls. ( As if he didn't know). She didn't put in his dragon roll order. To make matters worse my husband asked for more wasabi she pointed at his sushi platte for the little bit that was given. How was he suppose to dip the wasabi in a plate without a small bowl to mix soy sauce with wasabi first?!? She gave attitude when she brought the little bowl over with the wasabi. My sushi plates did not have wasabi or ginger. She didn't even bring me a small bowl of wasabi with my sushi rolls. My husband had to ask an other employee for a small bowl for me because I was using the sushi plate that had one roll that I finished early. She wasn't very attentive. First time here and first time trying Korean BBQ period! Absolutely fantastic! We will definitely return! The weekend all-day dinner is excellent value. $32 (adults) for all-you-can-eat includes all appetizers, soups/salads, meats AND the sushi on the back! The only extra charges were drinks and desserts. To include the sushi is absolutely unheard of in other restaurants and we were pleasantly surprised. Suffice it to say we went through pretty much the entire menu and ate our weight in food! Each meat had its own individual flavor and all were delicious. There really wasn't anything we didn't like. We especially liked the green chile beef and pork (because of course we had both!) and the Cajun shrimp. Our server asked if we preferred to cook the meat ourselves or if we wanted to do it. Our over-confident selves tried it on our own. She noticed we were struggling to get everything to cook and offered her assistance, showing us that things cook faster in the middle. After that, we were good to go! The restaurant was clean, quiet and very well laid out, it was a pleasant place to eat and it was fun to see what other tables were getting.
