Nobody likes paying for something like appliance repair. It's usually unexpected and expensive. That being said, we had a great experience with Volt. Our dryer went out, and I called 5 other companies before getting a hold of Volt. The fact that they answered their phone already had them head and shoulders above the rest. Our GE Profile range quit after 9 years. I called for service from the selling dealer. Their guy came out and said it had multiple problems and couldn't be fixed as the parts were no longer manufactured. I called Chris at Volt for a second opinion. I had a Maytag washer that needed repair. I self Diagnose the problem as a faulty dial plate. A $45 dollar OEM part. Volt came in, came to the same conclusion as I did, repaired the dialer plate in less then 5 mins and went on their way. From the time they (Volt) entered my home , assessed the problem and repaired it was less then 10 mins. Total bill was $290 and change. A diagnose fee, parts fee and labor to put it in, yea $290 and change. I think that was a bit outrageous for a simple task that I diagnosed myself. I know people got to make living and all, but this was a bit over the top. For an average blue collar worker, $290 is half my pay check for the week. Will be eating Top Ramen for weeks. Chris was great. He was timely and courteous. Though he was able to get my 25 year old dryer working again, it stopped the next day. He came out again at no charge. I even received a refund on all of the parts he had installed the previous day because of his one year warranty on all parts. After 6 weeks awaiting the Service provided selected by my Home Warranty Protection Plan to fix my oven, I gave up and went to Yelp to find an Appliance Repair Company to fix my Gas Leak on my oven. I found Volt Appliance on Yelp and Chris (Owner) was very informative on the likely problem with my oven gas leak. Chris came out day after I called to diagnose and mentioned if issue is what he thinks, that he had those parts on hand to fix at same time after diagnose completed. Chris communicated a 1 hour window of time he'd be at my home and again I received a text within 20mins of his arrival. Chris diagnosed and repair oven within 30mins of his arrival. I have a 17-year Thermador double oven that would not lock to self-clean. Chris came and looked at it and determined that it needed a new mother board. He ordered it and came installed it and the locking mechanism still would not work. He tried to order a new locking mechanism but was told they do not make the part anymore. So, Chris insisted that he refund all my money as he could not fix my oven. i told him that the oven would function just not self-clean, and we did not need a refund. I called this company out to repair my freezer. The repair guy showed up to my business and called me as to where I was ! I told him my manager will handle the call which he didn't seem to like or understand ! He then demanded $125 payment up front before he starts work which didn't make sense ????? I then informed him I wasn't aware of the $125 charge and he insinuated I was a liar because his company is so knowledgeable and could never make a mistake . I told him it's no big deal but he just got more rude on the phone and now saying because I have a business and not a home , the price and requirements are different . I told the lady before my name and business name. Anyway I had had enough of his rudeness and arrogance so I told him I didn't want him to repair my freezer. Then he demanded $45 for his travel time which they never disclosed either. I hung up on him and called his office and I paid the lady the $45 . I reached out to Volt Appliances to come out and take a look at our washer because it is leaking from the top and bottom. Chris the owner came out and said a part was needed to be ordered to fix the issue. I paid a fee for him to come out and assess the issue, then for the part, then for installation. $400 something dollar later the issue is still not fixed. Chris was polite and willing to come back out to take a look. I was given a 4-hour window from 1-5 pm with no courtesy text or call that he was on the way. At 1:54 pm I get a text saying he is at the gate, I saw no missed calls other than that one text. By the time I got to the text, it was 2:06 pm as I was putting my child down for a nap. I apologized mentioning I did not get a ring from the gate and for him to call in once more. Chris responded that he had already left and will try to squeeze me in later in the day. I never heard back and reached out the next day. Chris wanted to schedule me 1+ week out probably as punishment. He also mentioned that I owed him $45 in gas money because it was a no-show, there was no contract I signed mentioning this. I told him I refuse to pay $45 when it is not my problem he had no patience and did not try calling my phone other than one text. He then sent me screenshots of two calls one that was 3 seconds and one that was 5 seconds. Not even long enough to allow the phone to ring through to me. I explained that I feel I am being cheated by such a ridiculous charge of $45. $45 is half his gas tank, im no dummy. It is the principle for me, not about the money. I am well aware Chris did not allow the phone to ring and IF he tried it probably was because he did not have service in the area I live in. I am not for people taking advantage of people because they see they can afford something. What happened to being a good human? I own businesses, be a good human we reap what we sow in life. I would not be able to sleep at night knowing I am cheating people and throwing out silly numbers acting as if they owe me something. Shameful. Where I live we are a community and I will be sure to let others know to be careful of Volt Appliances as Chris does not work from the heart he only cares about his pocket.
