Steve always offers, "let's start with the least expensive way to do this if possible" approach, such as cleaning an appliance part rather than replacing it, if possible. But he comes prepared with replacement parts in his truck if it's something that doesn't need to be ordered. Kind, prompt, clean, knowledgeable. I have him on annual recall to replace the filter in my refrigerator's ice machine. The connector is wonky. He knows what to do to attach the new one with minimum leaking. This is my initial experience with Liberty Appliance Repair. I was having dishwasher issues and decided to give them a call to see if the dishwasher was worth trying to save. After doing some research, I was fairly confident it would boil down to a control board issue, but since I'm not a professional repair person I wanted to make sure I didn't misdiagnose something that could have been an easy/cheap fix. After speaking with a nice lady, we scheduled an appointment for about 5 days out to diagnose. Later that day, after the lady had spoken with the repair man she called me back to share the input she received from him. He was confident that we were facing a control board problem, and in a total integrity move they called me in advance to let me know what the cost would be to have that work done. After getting the quotes, I realized I'd be better off just buying a new dishwasher than trying to keep my current one going. They could have easily showed up and charged me $90 to tell me this, but instead were up front about everything and saved me some money which would have been completely wasted on a dishwasher I wouldn't repair. I believe that their integrity should be applauded and I thank them for that experience. It wasn't the result I was hoping for, but my experience with Liberty Appliance Repair was top notch. Very responsive - I have had him to my house twice. Once for a washing machine and he told me it would be better to just buy a new one. He could fix it and would be glad to do it, but it would cost more then just buying a new machine. Also, he came out and fixe my freezer. The door seal was miss shaped and he did an excellent job. My fridge stopped cooling and my husband found Liberty Appliance Repair off yelp. I gave them a call on Monday and luckily they had someone to come out that same day in the afternoon to check it out. Steve came by at the time slot that was given to me and he was very calm, approachable and friendly. Showed him my fridge and got right into diagnosing what was wrong with it. Less than 30mins he talked to me of what's wrong with it exactly, part it needed, how long it would take for it to get to him, broke down the prices and when he'll come back to finish the job. The best appliance repair service. Our older Whirlpool refrigerator stopped cooling and unfortunately a number of items spoiled. We called Liberty Appliance Repair and after speaking with Kathryn we set up an appointment. Steve came by the next day and by this time the fridge started cooling again. This company is one of the best I've used! I texted them at 8am got an immediate response. They were so responsive and transparent about costs upfront. My oven had stopped completely, no screen, no button sounds, nothing. They were pretty sure about the issue due to their experience. Steve came out, same day, fixed the oven, had the part on hand. Steve arrived right on time for our dishwasher repair appointment, quickly diagnosed the possibilities, and was able to do the repair in the same visit. Both Steve and Katheryn were very pleasant to communicate with, and were transparent about the costs ahead of time so that there were no nasty surprises when the bill was presented. I really appreciated that Steve was willing to try the quicker, less expensive "this might just work" options first rather than escalating straight to having to order the $27,000 part that would take fifteen years to ship from Gosh Knows Where. They also may have saved the lives of at least one of my children, who were all one whining complaint about being asked to hand-wash their own dishes away from being tossed out on the street to discover just how cruel the world can truly be. If I could give 12 stars, I would! Our fridge was making a ticking sound, so we unplugged for several hours to allow the cooling element to defrost (our best guess), but when we plugged it back in, we had a weird error code on the panel. Steve came out and was able to reset the panel (when even Samsung couldn't tell us what the code was about!). The ticking noise came back a few days later - Steve came out again under the original diagnostic fee! Was very detailed about what he could and could not do to fix the fridge. He also was very kind to answer all my questions about other makes and models, as the end result was us getting a new fridge later that day.
