Mixt is a GREAT social venue; it has a huge U shaped bar that easily seats 25+ guests. The weekday and Sunday all-day happy hours offer some great prices on cocktails, beer, wine, and mocktails. The bartenders are always friendly and attentive. Because the bar is so large, I've never had trouble finding a seat for my group of friends. Perhaps the best use of Mixt is as an event and meetup space; I've been to several gatherings and events here and have had a great experience every time. There is a second floor open space which is perfect for a group of 20+ folks. We've also set up impromptu events around the large bar area; there are so many seating options, it was easy to occupy 10-15 seats without monopolizing the space. However, it was already 3:30, my appt was supposed to end at 2:15 and I had someplace else to be. After getting home, looking at my hair again, and sending pictures to my friends I knew I had to make Chimere aware of the situation. I paid $200 for a modern, chic bob and I received a basic, old lady hairstyle. I contacted Chimere about the situation and she mentioned it was because I didn't want the hair combed away from my face exposing my forehead. Well as you can see from the pictures, forehead exposed or not, this bob was never going to look like what I requested. The tracks in the front are sewn in going forward and my hair is combed over it in a completely different direction. Huh!! She also asked to add more hair to make it fuller, but after being there for over 4 hours I had to go. Most people assess how much hair they need and get it right the fast time. I felt like someone was practicing in my head. This is by far one of the worst installs I've ever received and I feel I just gave someone $200 (not to mention the price of the hair). Let me not forget to mention my head is still very painful from the install and the wash process. I'm not tender headed by any means, but why do some stylist insist on combing through dry natural hair. Literally you can run water through my hair and it detangles. After the protein treatment, it was still painful to comb through and I guess she didn't use a detangler. When I mentioned this to her the response was "Well you are natural!" People, if you don't want to take the time it requires to do natural hair, then don't market yourself as a natural hairstylist.
