I had moved to a new home and was looking for an electrician to do a complete rewiring of the property. I met with a Voltech electrician and was looking for an estimate with hopes of beginning work on the property soon thereafter. Basically, the electrician came out and we discussed the scope of the project and I answered several questions and was expecting an estimate in the next few days. Unfortunately, I never heard from the person I met again. Initially, I felt that Voltech would be a good candidate due to the reviews on Yelp. In response to the poor follow-through I felt compelled to write a review based on my experience (not because I know the quality of the work). Unfortunately, the lack of follow through is the last thing that I would ever want when beginning a large home improvement project where the concern of getting things done in a timely manner only becomes more important once you are in the midst of a renovation. I personally would not recommend, but maybe there were extenuating circumstances and my quote fell through the cracks. read more

Owning a home from the 1920's has certainly been an interesting journey. Since we still have the original system of electrical wiring in our home (knob and tube) developed by Thomas Edison, it is an interesting part of history to experience, but in the push to be cost-saving, not always the most ideal. Our detached garage had some very interesting electrical work done over the last 90 years and as we wanted to get an electric garage door installed, as well as remodel the garage which was scary beyond belief, we had Voltech come out to estimate the work. Price was very reasonable for all we were asking. Aram was available to come within a few days and he set to work. He removed all the old wiring which was put in metal piping on top of the studs around the garage and put in new romex everywhere, reset the panel so it was facing the right way and rewired the panel, re-did the electrical socket inside the garage and put one on the outside into our backyard, put the wiring necessary to put a lamp on the outside backyard wall as well as replaced the strange system someone did putting a light (with censor) on the driveway wall so we can see at night on the driveway, and put in sockets on the ceiling for the garage door as well as the existing florescent light that was hanging in the garage. He did this alone and within 4 1/2 hours. I thought that was really impressive. He was careful to get exact directions of what we wanted and where, and did exactly what he said he would do. The work is awesome, and looks organized and tidy. It's nice to know that at least the garage is completely up to code! I'd certainly use Voltech in the future for other electrical work! read more

Short and sweet: Quick to respond, returns calls when said, agreed to bid job promptly. My review is strictly for their competency on calls and scheduling as they were very good at that I ended up having my general contractor finish the electrical without getting a bit from Voltech. I should mention that I have called four different electricians and only two of them call back promptly. Of those two both told me they needed to do some research on my particular request and return my call and Voltech was only one who did it. They text message me immediately as per my request since I'm busy with people all day. I responded with a request for scheduled appointment at a certain time which they agreed to. Our place in Pasadena needed some electrical work done, including a new GFI outlet, reversing the polarity in another outlet and correcting the wiring for an internal vac system. Called another electrician first who shockingly gave me a quote over the phone, but he sounded really shady. Next I called up Voltech , and spoke with Aram who sounded legit and it turned out he was. He agreed to come out on a Sunday with short notice to provide us with an estmate. He arrived on time Sunday morning, and provided a reasonable estimate that beat the original one we were given by the other shady dude. He then came out the next day, and performed all the work in under an hour and a half. Added bonus for the fact that he is tech savvy as he printed out the invoice on his iPad. Voltech installed recessed lights for my kitchen in April. They were timely and Aram responded quickly. Some of the holes were not flushed with the lights, but were not very visible. A few days ago my husband and I were painting the ceiling in our kitchen and pulled off the led lighting so to not paint it. This is something you would do if the light burns out. A piece of the light broke off, mind you it hasn't even been a year. I contacted Aram about the broken piece. I was pleased that he returned my call so quickly. He asked me to send a picture. Three outlets go out in our kitchen and we have no idea why. I contacted Voltech via their website and received a phone call in about an hour. We talked about the problem and he let me know that the issue was probably a faulty outlet and quoted me a price (cheaper than other electricians I spoke to) and scheduled an appointment early the next day. I was having an issue with some of my electrical not working. Aram showed up on time, was very nice and professional.
