7/28/26 Last minute shopping for a cake, glad that Vons came through for me. My sister asked me to buy a cake for her husband's bday as she was running out of time with the preparations. There's not many bakeries open at 8:45 pm. Von's bakery is still open until 9 pm according to their signage, although there was no one tending at the bakery counter. I hobbled over at the deli next door & I inquired from the staff there. He directed me to go at the front to ask for help there. Then he saw I was walking in my boot with a single crutch. He proceeded to say he will call one over to the bakery for me (Good of the man to do so, thank you very much!). A young lady came by and assisted with my request. Picked out a tiramisu cake topped with fruits. She then offered to walk it over to the cashier. The cashier was very pleasant. Afterwards, the young lady offered to walk it over to the car. I'm so impressed with the customer service here. It won me over even if I have not toured the rest of the market. So far, I can see it is clean, tidy with two wonderful staff (Chris, cashier) My apologies , I did not catch the young lady's name helping me-she's top-notch. Thanks again! read more

Update: ordering online gets you old stuff. I placed order yesterday, 7/24/26. My bottle of vanilla chai says best by 6/5/26. The cookies I ordered from the bakery said packed on 7/19, best by 7/24. I'm gonna finish 30 cookies by the end of the day? I guess if it's being consumed at a potluck or company thing. The fruit was on the older side too. Come on, Vons. Do better. There are hidden nuances to figuring out the app but you can get some decent deals. Wasted way more time using the app in an effort to update my card info then find out I can't when I'm at checkout and have to get out of that menu in order to update elsewhere on my computer (wouldnt do it in the app). Poor design that would be cumbersome to anyone with a less than average command in basic tech skills. Figured out that I could have uploaded student ID for discounts months ago. Did an online order to pick up to get free eggs with purchase but forgot to manually add the eggs in to my cart so had to call them to have them do that before I get there to save time. Just little things like that waste time if you don't read the fine print or aren't paying attention. If you're gonna have digital coupons to select it needs to be less of a hurdle to get. read more

Another bad experience today, I went earlier this morning, and went to check out with Kayla "dyed red hair", she first ignored me completely and kept talking to the female customer who already paid for her items. The female customer just stood there blocking the keypad, which made me unable to input my phone number. The cashier scanned my stuff without greeting me or asking for my phone number, and said, "$40". I told her, "It shouldn't be that much and I should be able to input my phone number, and this is rude." I input my phone number and my total was $16 only. I don't know what kind of people work there, especially the younger ones. read more

Fat old Hispanic male worker with a beard is hostile about standing by the Pokemon machine. I was barely there for less than 5 mins and he already forced me out. Guy is a total scalper that got the job at Vons to scalp more Pokemon cards if he is already trying to kick people out for checking the machine only once. Ngl all the workers here seem like scalpers. They are literally all standing at the last cash register right next to the Pokemon machine. I drove 10 miles all the way over here because yelp stated they were open now at 6am and I needed butter for Christmas dinner. The damn store is closed and the lazy af manager didn't even have the courtesy to update their hours for Christmas calls. The recorded call states to press 1 for the 7 day holiday hours and stated they open at 6am. It's 6:30 now and they're still closed! I am so pissed! I showed the employees through the glass doors the store hours on Yelp stating that it's open now and all I wanted was butter and they declined. I then called and spoke to an employee and she said they open at 7 AM and I mentioned that Yelp and the store's automated recording stated the 7 day holiday hours for Christmas as opening at 6 AM? And she replied "Ma'am, that is all corporate and we have nothing to do with that."So that means if Corporate tells you to open at 6 AM you decide open at 7AM if you wanted to? We were sad to see that we have to travel to the far side of town to shop at VONS. It was the favorite of the lovely missus. So today, she made a short list and suggested we go to VONs. But... but...well, the missus had made up her shopping mind, and I really don't mind the drive. We got there before Marina HS ends the day because we knew from previous experiences (non-VONS) that it could get really busy. The VONS store was immaculately clean. She was able to find eggs and pies and milk and ripe bananas to make banana bread. Oh my, look at that... Have not seen this at other markets. I quickly grabbed the cold see thru box, and the contents made me jump for joy. You guessed it .. 4 deliciously looking Chocolate covered eclairs with the sweet pudding like vla inside. Don't get me wrong, I love Vons but this Specific Location is poor in customer service and poor management. I live down the street and now I feel like I should go to Ralph instead of here. Never again. Stopped here at 7:45 to pick up cheese for my family and was told the deli was closed. A staple like the deli, closed 3.25 hours before the actual store. I understand an hour before, but the manager scheduling this staff needs to do better and range a full two shifts. Come on!! It's ridiculous that I walk into a grocery store and can't get sliced cheese. Please also don't tell me the bin next to the deli has the same exact thing because honestly, it's upwards of $4 more dollars per pound for the same cheese. Everyone is looking for a job right now. This store is more expensive compared to most however, if you have the club card and use the coupon digital deals on your app, you get big savings. The plus side is everything is fresh such as the meat and vegetables. However, today, the entire freezer for the ice cream main aisle was malfunctioning leading to the destruction of all the ice cream in that aisle. The manager should really be privy to that but I let the cashier, Sherry know. The self-check out works MOST of the time with the App HOWEVER, it will malfunction and not register your deal on your phone. Sherry, being a great cashier instructed me to go to her check-out line where she resolved the issue, even using her phone to do calculations. This tells me that she is an experienced cashier and understand both my mom and mine's situation. She rectified the issue with a smile and polite manners. The woman at the cashier said something about can't take any big cash. I asked what she was talking bout and said something bout $100 in a rude way. It was only me and a woman in front of me for this line. Don't not why she would insinuate i brought $100 to a grocery store, I'm fairly young. I said i only have $30 is that ok and she agreed. And then she reinstates am i the one that said something about $100 in a uninterested way. I just thought that was kind of rude when i only have 4 items in my cart. For the past 3 years I have been coming to this Vons religiously in the morning for my starbucks and bagels the bakery is a most now !! The past few months the quality of the bagels have improved immensely the jalapeño bagel was a little Dry and had little topping and too dark . But lately they have been covered with delicious jalapeño and cheese and baked to perfection the quality has greatly improved. Improved so much I'm going to order a few dozen for my office! This is my go to before going into work. I always stop at this Starbucks inside the Vons. I have to give them a 5 because of their customer service, Spring is the manager at this Starbucks location she's super sweet and patient also Stephanie and Joshua are the barista most of the time in the mornings they are all super friendly. Food is always fresh they also have delicious cakes and bagels. Ambiance is alright just be patient with all the high schoolers. Lol read more

I came to pick up a few things for taco night. They have a great selection of plant based meats and cheeses. Avocados are pricey and the Roma tomatoes were all really soft. I ended up buying organic because those were more fresh but definitely more expensive. I love grabbing a jar of their garlic lover salsa! I would take off 1 star because of the tomatoes but at least had fresh organic tomatoes that I decided to purchase and even though it was more expensive, still nice to have that back up option. read more

I live around the corner- just went in to grab some facial wash and bread because I ran out and as I'm looking I start to notice an employee following me. Young black gentleman with a duster in his back pocket. I go over to the bread and can't find what bread I was looking for and he follows me over there. I go to checkout after finding the bread and he follows me to checkout- RIGHT BEHIND ME. Not even discreetly! He then proceeded to ask us the cashier who was helping me was "okay" and if she "needed him". The worst and most embarrassing experience of my life. I'm a female in my 20's who is also asian. Double check your receipts as this Vons is not passing sales onto their customers. Told the cashier 3 times that the register was not deducting the coupons or giving the sales prices and was told that they would be taken at the end. If you know how the registers at Vons work, it does it by line item and it wasn't doing that. Called for the manager and she was even more HOPELESS and USELESS. She must have been promoted because she had been there the longest because she offered no value. Finally had another cashier come over and he did it correctly. read more

Started using this store, specifically the Starbucks, during the pandemic because the (Vons) Starbucks was reliably open when the regular Starbucks stores were inconsistent in their hours. The management here could care less about the health and safety of their customers. An elderly man was passed out in a car that was turned off today when it was extremely hot. My wife alerted the supervisor at Vins named Marilyn. She told my wife coldly, that isn't our problem and you can deal with it yourself if you are concerned about the elderly man. In essence, we are void of the basic tenants of humanity and could care less if someone dies in our parking lot. With a condescending attitude( the cold hearted wench Marilyn (who you'll see featured in other reviews here because she is a horrible human being) told my wife she could call herself if she wanted to help. So she did and paramedics eventually came to do a wellness check on the man. Hopefully he was ok. He should know for future reference that if he falls ill or dies or has any kind of emergency, the Vons supervisors could care less if he dies. read more
