Started using this store, specifically the Starbucks, during the pandemic because the (Vons) Starbucks was reliably open when the regular Starbucks stores were inconsistent in their hours. The management here could care less about the health and safety of their customers. An elderly man was passed out in a car that was turned off today when it was extremely hot. My wife alerted the supervisor at Vins named Marilyn. She told my wife coldly, that isn't our problem and you can deal with it yourself if you are concerned about the elderly man. In essence, we are void of the basic tenants of humanity and could care less if someone dies in our parking lot. With a condescending attitude( the cold hearted wench Marilyn (who you'll see featured in other reviews here because she is a horrible human being) told my wife she could call herself if she wanted to help. So she did and paramedics eventually came to do a wellness check on the man. Hopefully he was ok. He should know for future reference that if he falls ill or dies or has any kind of emergency, the Vons supervisors could care less if he dies. read more

i came in close to closing, figured I get a couple things and I left my cart with a good amount of items for a couple of minutes while I went to grab some chips and dip i returned and to my horror my cart was gone and I was pissed had someone try and find it and this young dude came up apologizing sincerely but I wasn't in the mood to hear it he promised to get all my stuff back and I said fine but the way he was so eager , I started to reevaluate my terrible demeanor. met him up front and he had everything as I left it. i then observed his mannerisms, enthusiasm and all around hard work he was doing throughout the store almost made everyone else seem lazy haha During these times, customers rarely are being treated to exceptional service I while I was in the parking lot putting my groceries away , I saw the dude hustling after closing to get everything right. I pushed my cart over to him and apologized for being a jerk. He taught me a lesson in humility I asked his name and he replied "Christian" as an owner of a company, whatever experience this young dude lacked , his work ethic, attitude and willingness to be good at his job was absolutely exceptional and I'd take him in a heartbeat over most I interview. congrats Vons you got a winner and I wish him the best in his future endeavors ! Not sure why i have failed to write a review of this particular store. Vons has a high bench mark for it's quality fresh meat. They also offer great deals or discounts. My tribe lives next door so that being said it is a easy visit to grab items to BBQ. Clean and organized store. The bathrooms are annoying because you need a number to go in. Otherwise my favorite dept is the meat! LOL! I do not know why all the haters writing poor reviews but I have had nothing but over all good experiences with the staff. 3.5 man, this store is pricey, especially for berries and I frequently bring them home to find mold. I purchased these one night ago, had to throw away half my blueberries while at work too. Super frustrating because I'm pregnant and hungrier and berries are my favorite and wasting money is not my favorite. I've had to go back once to return chicken that I purchased and then realized they sold me it a few days past the expiration date. I've been shopping here for years now. I always love how they are able to stock so many options in such a small space. Self Checkout is a plus and the produce is always fresh. I especially love the Floral Section. I've purchased many flowers and everyone always loves them. I've also gotten balloons and they last really well. Produce team is super helpful. They will run in the back to find something for me and they are always stocking and freshening up the produce area. This store has a giant Starbucks. Store team is super friendly. I had Instacart completely flub a balloon order for my daughters graduation and I ran to this Vons and the lady was so helpful and quickly made me a ton of balloons for my party. I came to get balloons tonight for my mom's birthday. We came in later in the night, as my fiancé and I got off work way later than expected. There is a sign posted to ask for help if balloons are needed after the counter is closed. So I went to the front to ask for help and was greeted by a very kind associate (Arabelle) and an extremely rude manager (gentleman with long brown hair slicked into a bun and a mustache). Now, a very simple answer to me wanting balloons could have been, "I'm really sorry but we don't have anyone here at the moment that's trained to fill balloons" to which I would have more then happily said, "no problem at all". But instead his response was a condescending look on his face and a laugh at me saying "well that kinda sucks to do right now." As well as a few other disrespectful comments and extremely poor customer service all because he was chatting with an employee and was obviously upset that he was interrupted. That's when Arabelle stepped up, like an actual manager and said she'd be happy to help, but that she's never done it before and it may take her some time, which I was extremely grateful for, but the manager was rather annoyed. After she and another colleague began working on the balloons and were being rather wonderful, the manager began to make announcements on how the store would be closing every five minute while looking my fiancé dead in the face from across the store, again extremely poor customer service. So I made my way to the check out to pay so we could leave as soon as we were done where I was treated very poorly by the manager and was being given snide looks from his buddy. I would have given the store one star but Arabelle and her coworker saved the day and with genuine smiles on their faces. The manager however maybe should be put back through training on customer service and manners. He obviously is lacking in that department. Needless to say we will not be shopping here in the future. I'm happy to take my business elsewhere and hope that more people get to experience how wonderful of an associate Arabelle is. read more

Looking back at this Vons location, all I seem to get are nothing but good memories from back when I would trod on over to get lunch during my high school days. I haven't actually grocery shopped here so this is a review for their deli section only. Here's a list of all the things I recommend if you happen to stop by to get something to delve right into. Turkey & Havarti Panini - one of the best paninis I have been blessed with! They never skimp out on the Havarti which has a very distinct flavor, but does not over power the turkey. This coupled with the slight crunch of the toasted sourdough makes for an amazing morsel to devour. I like to ask for less butter on top of the two slices of sourdough because it can be a bit oily after being toasted. The size of the sandwich itself is large enough to share with someone else. All for just $4.99 + tax Cream Cheese Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers - at just $.50 each these bad boys will leave you addicted and checking into rehab. This is not always available (although it should be!) so take advantage and buy a bunch! I can't get enough of them. Chicken Tenders - always crunchy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. Ask for their honey mustard. Vons' honey mustard is better than any other I have ever encountered. Mac & Cheese - super rich and creamy but not to the point where it becomes too heavy. I used to get this all the time and it's one of the cheaper menu items. Service - I get nothing but friendly service. The deli servers are always so helpful and super jovial. Their smiles are contagious! I recommend! read more

This is one of the worse supermarkets in the area. I'm still shocked that they are still in business. Even when there's hardly anyone in the store, you still have to wait in line, because they have only 1 or 2 lines open. Any other market would not make you wait on line to collect your money. No waiting on a Smart & Final, Stater Bros, Ralph's... Their meat dept. is a joke. You need to take out a loan to afford a stake. Stater Bros. meat dept, or should I say, huge butcher shop, puts this place to shame. Great quality meats and very affordable. As to why, those other markets are ALWAYS constantly busy. This Von's has a habit of shelving old product first, especially the milk, which goes bad within days. I complained about the pricing of some of their products, especially their Morton salt being at $1.79, and their answer to me, more than once by manager, cashier was, it was the correct price and one cashier to me was extremely rude as she practically shoved the salt in my face and said; "Well it's MORTON you know. I said NOWHERE IN THE WORLD or any other market sells salt at $1.79 I'm sure that it was a mistake of the 120+%, when it goes for .79. But as you can see by this pic I took, there salt Safeway, was .79 while Morton is $1.79. I will never go to this rip-off customers place. What movie? 2012 :) After taking like over an hour to drive through the torrential down pour of last night from Riverside I pull up to the Von's dash in to start my look for above items... wouldn't you know it the specific brands I was looking for were not available but the counter person in the Deli opened up every selection of Cheese that she thought would be comparable and because this person was from Quebec she INSISTED I try the Pate from Canada my goodness she followed me down literally EVERY aisle (at some point I must admit it became sort of weird) but she was diligent in making sure I found whatever I needed... and she was not the only one with this frame of mind. I'm honestly only reviewing my grocery store because it shouldn't have such low reviews in the first place! Maybe I just go at good times of the day, but I never have a problem with waiting in line, especially compared to the target next door! And to the rude woman who said don't get stuck in Bob's line, shame on you. He's a nice old man who happens to talk quite a bit but it's better than some bitter bitch behind the register... and all the other employees I've come across are polite and helpful. Certain things can be expensive if you don't have a Vons card but once you have one the prices are normal and they constantly have deals. Every single time I've gone they have BOGO in the meat department. 6 porkchops for the price of 3? Yes please. I haven't come across anything I need on my list being out of stock but I do recommend buying things like paper towels & toilet paper at walmart. They do also have a large selection of beer, liquor and wine along with a round table pizza, starbucks & wells fargo inside. It's your average grocery store and I'll continue to shop here as long as I live nearby! P.S. I do think you shouldn't need a key to the restrooms - someone get on that. read more

This store isn't always at its best, maybe because they're under-staffed, however, the small staff here are the finest! They will treat you with a warm smile, utmost professionalism, and engage with you as if you're a well-known friend and neighbor, or even family member. Every time I walk in, I'm treated with a welcoming smile and helpful demeanor. They're simply, THE BEST! If you want a variety selection, especially of low-caloric healthier foods, you'll find a lil of that here, but not very much. If you want convenient hours, you'll find that, too. The only reason I am giving one star is because I am so highly disappointed with the way the Eileen produce manager spoke with me, she Is beyond rude, I hear the way she speaks to her other co workers and the way she spoke to me was unbelievable, I simply asked where I could find an item and she snapped at me and said it's over there on isle 8. It's not what she said it's how she said it. She totally disrespected me and made me feel very uncomfortable, I didn't even know how to react. I just finally wrote my review on this place and now this! I went in to Vons last night to pick up a couple of baguettes. They reduced the floral department selection by at least half!!!!! While what remained was nice, I was sufficiently bummed out as this was the one bright side (in my opinion, of course) to this store. Also, some young kid that worked there that looked like he couldn't be more than 16 was walking by, asked me how I was and if I was finding everything OK. HE JUST KEPT WALKING while he was asking the question! He never stopped or waited for an answer. I felt like following him just to ask him where something stupid was so I could make a point. They have a great selection and can help you on the spot with writing a message on your cake at no extra cost. I also like their fresh baked bread. Especially the butter and garlic one. They've been out a couple times when I'm there and I just ask, and they'll take a fresh loaf of French bread and hook it up with the garlic butter sauce, also while you wait.
