I don't recommend visiting the pharmacy here because they take forever and most of the people behind the counter have such an attitude. When I first tried dropping off my prescription, the gentleman behind the counter was such an ass and basically ignored me when I was dropping off my prescription. I have to say I shop at Vons Arboles frequently during the summer, but, when Los Cerritos is back in session different story. I stay away from there as much as possible. I can't believe that they can't police these kids most are rude they cut in front of you they bump you they cus, it's so frustrating and I'm not alone I hear people talking about it every time I'm there during the school year. And dont get me started on the parking lot is massively crowded with the parents cars picking them up. Wish our Vons could figure out a way to control the situation. :( read more

Absolutely trash. I would give this place a solid .01 stars if i could, it doesn't even deserve 1 full star. All the employees are so rude and never helpful. There is always 5/8 people standing back there talking and making conversation and choose customers as a last resort and treat them like you are bothering them. Even when i seem to fill my prescription if not 8 hours or two days before they STILL never seem to have it ready and expect me to be free for another hour until they can walk a few feet and ask someone else for support. This has now happened numerous times and honestly extremely frustrating when i work full time and sometimes cannot wait around for them to "lolly gag". Usually I don't come on these types of platforms and leave reviews but this one is worth it. Switch to the nearest pharmacy you can unless all you want is inconvenience and an awful support staff. We shop at vons occasionally to get frozen dinners and sourdough bread. I stopped going there because they didn't require face masks, I went back when they started to. However, when someone comes in without one, they still let him shop. At Gelsons, no mask - no entry. For now, until they actively enforce the face mask rule, I'll be At Gelsons. read more

I've been going to this Vons for a few years now and I've always had a great experience shopping there but recently when buying from the fresh meat department and the fish department there has been mold on everything! I bought there chicken wings brought them home and noticed large clumps of mold on them and complained but only got a refund and they said they would take care of it! I thought great! But I went tonight to go buy some crab legs and a I looked closer what do you know??? There was mold on them! I don't get what's going on but I am very unsatisfied! This is a great grocery store as far as selection and great prices go! I always stock up when I'm here because I know they have the best sales!! I love their deli meat selection! Very friendly staff! The store is well stocked I always seem to find what I am looking for! Chicken on sale? I'll take it. Roast on sale? I'll take it! $1.99 for a 8 pack of diet cokes I'll definitely take it! For the most part the store is ok. However, the deli ruins the entire store! They never cut my meat thin. It's always thick as can be. I think should buy the whole "roast" or "turkey" and just eat it with my hands. I don't know if they're lazy and this lowers the number of slices they have to slice but it pisses me off and I've heard others complain too when we're ordering. To add icing on the cake, they hide in the back and there's no bell and you can hear them talking. They take as long as possible to acknowledge you, like they're hoping you'll just leave. Let's just toss out all of these negative comments and start over, because most of these reviews are from long ago. We live in this neighborhood and we have been shopping at this Vons on Ave De Los Arboles for 35 years, plus we get our prescriptions at the Pharmacy. Right now (late Dec. 2017) Vons is undergoing a MAJOR transformation, with new equipment and displays everywhere! Panda Express (sad!) and the Cleaners are gone, but everything is new in Customer Service, Produce, Floral, Meat, Bakery, Deli, Liquor, etc. Even a new expanded Starbucks is about to re-open. Crews are working around the clock to put everything in its new location. Every visit is a great adventure, but the completion is within sight. Forget the new Gelson's down the street, give Vons another chance. read more

This location isn't the worst but, it's not great, either. The staff is friendly, for the most part, and they're helpful, too. Sometimes they're a little too chatty with customers and other employees, as others here have noted in their reviews, and this seems to drive up wait times in the lines, which can be annoying if you're in a rush and waiting in the express lane. They have a pretty good selection of products, so no complaint there and the store seems pretty clean. Shout out to the guy who works in the liquor department (I think his name is Fasir)! The store is alright but the service deli sucks. These people work at a snails pace in the service deli. I swear I can crawl faster than they walk. It takes 15 minutes just to have a damn sandwich made! I see people impatiently waiting just to get deli meats or cheese. Approximately 10 minutes ago I purchased two items at this Vons location. I checked out with a middle aged white woman with brown hair in the 15 items or less aisle. One of the items was alcohol. I wore a mask in trying to be a responsible patron/citizen. The checker requested my ID fine, I kept my ID in my wallet and showed it to her. It can easily be read in my wallet. She reached out and proceeded to touch my wallet which I felt was completely unnecessary. She then requested I remove my face covering fully so she could see my face. I'm well over 21 and it's obvious. What is the point at all of trying to be safe and prevent the spread of this virus if Vons has a policy of making customer remove their face coverings. In these times I believe this cashier violated all proper protocol and put my safety and the safety of others at risk. I will no longer shop at this location or any other Vons location if it is their policy to make customers remove their face coverings for a single bottle of liquor. I think the health department would be appalled. Stay away from this location if you are trying to practice proper safety!!!! read more

What's there to say about a major chain supermarket like this...? Not much. This place is run of the mill. Nothing distinguishing about it. It's the same "blah." If you know the Vons in your area, you pretty much know this one. Contrary to what James C. said in his review, I haven't found anyone here to be particularly rude. Went to the Starbucks to pay for my stuff because they only had 2 registers open with long lines. Guy at the Starbucks scanned my stuff, and the lady before me still had her Vons card on the machine and the guy canceled transaction because he wanted me to use my own card, ok I was fine with that. He didn't know what he was doing so he called a "manager" or whoever can override. This blonde, older woman with curly hair came to do it and asked me to put in my card, I did. Card reader didn't read 3 of my cards, all credit cards and said I had no funds for all of it. She said it in a very condescending tone. I'm an asian guy and I look like a kid but I'm a grown ass man. I told her it can't be all 3 that are maxed out, maybe there's something wrong with the reader and she said no. I just left because of how she treated me. Whoever you are, I'm gonna get your name and post it in here with a letter to your corporate office on how you should treat customers. 10/18/16 about 745pm. Really poor customer service and need some training on how to properly deal with customers. 11/10/16 8:10pm 2 registers open and the lines for both registers were long. Express lane wasn't so express. I asked if they could open another register and they said no. This Vons pretty much has everything and it amazed me! I went in just to go to the US Bank (they even have a Teller!!), but I walked in to find a mini-mall of all necessities!! They've got a bank, Starbucks, Deli, Red Box and a PANDA EXPRESS (WTF??)! This would be a nice place to have a date because it has everything, no joke. Overall very impressed and happy. Worst customer service. Gelson's is about 2 minutes away. Go there. Besides having the worst customer service, they don't check expiration dates on all of their food. In general Vons is no different than any other grocery store. Savings can be had if you search for them and can be discriminating about grocery choices. My issue with Vons is about their Just for You app. This app is the most confusing and arduous app in existence. The only reason I come to this store is because it's close by, and that's it. The only people in this store that are friendly are the cashiers. I waited in the meat dept for 15 mins, unknowing to me that there's a button discreetly hidden behind magic door number 3, then called the meat dept from outside the meat case asking for some help, to which he came out and promptly looked me in the eye and rang the bell, like i'm stupid or something. That's unacceptable. I understand I should have maybe looked a little harder for the button, but being someone who used to work in a grocery store, I know for a fact they need to check the front every couple minutes just in case someone shows up. Stopped by to grab a few things and this would have been an awesome trip of not for Maria. Our Cashier Maria greeted us nicely and we let her know that 2 of the packages were open because we were starving. Apparently we accidentally tore the bar code on the sushi and she asked "why did you do that?" We said we didn't mean to. She asked her bagger Bianca if she could run over because she needed a price. Bianca left and returned telling her it was $7.50. Maria said to her rudely, "No, I need the barcode, I have nothing to ring up." So Bianca hurriedly ran over to get it and we stood there while Maria rolled her eye and talked crap about Bianca with another cashier. Bianca returned and gave the sushi to Maria then had Bianca return it. We were searching for our card number and got to her Maria say "oh my God.." under her breath. Very unprofessional and rude. Especially to her coworker who was pleasant and nice the entire time. This is my local Von's and I go there almost everyday for one thing or another. The problem is they are usually very busy and the lines are constantly backed up. I mentioned to a few of the Cashiers that the store could really benefit from adding self checkout lanes. They didn't like that!
