This Sally Beauty store is located in the Vons shopping area off E. Janss Rd & Moorpark Rd . Upon entering I noticed how super clean this store is, very organized & very attention to details! I was greeted by 2 wonderful ladies Maria P. & Gloria F. They asked me if I was looking for anything ? I was looking do an eye shadow. Maria P. Walked me back of the section of the of the eye shadow. They didn't have my color which is fine . Maria actually showed the gel eye shadow. I was kind eerie about it .. since I really didn't know if would completely stay on or if it's way to take it away. She told me it's very easy both ways . Also she helped me on nail polish and the faster dry coat. I really appreciated Maria for taking the time to listen & address all of my concerns. She was so understanding ! I noticed they have huge selection on all kinds of beauty stuff such as : all nails stuff, shampoo, conditioner for hair coloring, hair extensions, hair coloring, hair brushing, makeup and much more! I recently went to Sally's for the first time in ages. My great experience started the minute I walked in their door. I was immediately greeted by the woman behind the counter with such a pleasant "welcome". She had people at the register, but still took time to greet those coming in the door. Shortly thereafter while I wandered up and down the aisles, trying to find what I'd gone in for, she came over and asked me if I needed any assistance! Wow! Actual customer service. Then she stayed with me as the product I was hoping to find wasn't easy. I really appreciated the assistance while we looked and looked reading label ingredients together. I stopped in here looking for a particular hair gel. A friend had recommended I try Sally and so I browsed around. I wasn't able to find what I was looking for, but they had a lot of cool things for sale. Nail polish, lots of hair care products and shampoos/conditioners in bulk gallons for business owners. Makeup, curling irons, hair dye, all kinds of stuff. I didn't pay too much attention to the prices since I didn't find the thing I wanted to buy, but it seemed to have a lot of good, fun things. Very well made experience from my visit there yesterday at that location of Sally's Beauty Supply. The sale associate, Gloria, went above and beyond by getting out of her way to providing assistance while I was selecting my items. It was as if she was my personal shopping assistant. I asked her a question about the Barbicide cleaning solution and she answered it with knowledge. I was very impressed with her customer service delivery that it prompted me to write this review and I rarely write reviews. I've been going to Sally's Beauty Supply throughout the San Fernando Valley and Ventura County for as long as I can remeber and I've never had a absolute positive experience just like Gloria provided there at her store. She was the only one there and took her time to assist whereas other sales associates in the Sally's Beauty Supply I've been to in the past just keep it basic and simple. Nothing against the other sales associates, but Gloria did her job with pride and respect and I wish every person in retail should be like her in their work. I live in the San Fernando Valley and I'll start to visit this Sally's Beauty Supply only based from the satisfaction I received from there, even while making the long drive there. I am very disappointed in Sally Beauty Supply and I have been going there for years. When I tried to return two items they were only willing to give 1/3 of the purchase price, even with a Sally card. Was in the area and decided to stop in for a supply of my nail files, and as usual, I pick up a nail polish or two for good measure. I like the fact that I get a small discount, and were it not for the fact that they discontinued my favorite nail glue several years ago, I'd have given more stars. Still upset they did that. Girl at front was sitting down and texting on her cell phone when I walked in. Unfriendly. Never looked up or got up. I asked her about a product that had a promotion while she was STiLL sitting at the front texting... She yells across the room that she didn't know what it was. I asked her if she could (essentially get her ass off the chair) help me as its their own promotion. She rolled her eyes as if I was actually asking her to do her job, walked up,told me again she didn't know what it was (without even trying to investigate). She told me her manager, who was non existent, could help me when she gets in later. Wow. What a great experience (NOT). Good luck little girl... You really shouldn't be working a retail job or any job for that matter if you can't help people with the product. Shameful. This is my second time in Sally's. Worst customer service ever! Their "100% Money Back Guarantee" is a sham! One of the girls (Madeline) that sold us beauty products was rude the second we walked in the door on 7/3/16. A few seconds later we realized she was drunk while on the job, and sold us products that we were not sure about buying. $140 for one item! She said we could return it no problem if we're not satisfied. We obviously tried to return the item less than 24 hours later and they wouldn't let us or else why would I be writing this horrible review, and I'm not a Yelper at all! We never opened it, used it, or tampered with it. Anyways, I have a photo of the drunk girl, Madeline, and her unhelpful coworker, Rachel. Wouldn't even let us speak to their manager! I found their employees rude and inslulting when I tried to return something. They did not explain their no refund or return policy at the time of purchase. The assistant manager baically said she did care if I remained a customer of Sally, she "Cares more about herself then about my needs as a customer." Telephone custmer service was just as rude. They have ridiculous company policy regarding rewards. I used a $5 reward to buy a nail polish. I paid $1.99 with the rewards total $6.99. I polished my toenails on a Saturday and only wore flip flops until the following Saturday I put on socks and hiking boots. After the hike I took my boots off and my socks were stuck to my toenails. I went into the store to exchange the polish. I picked a polish that was $5. I figured I would be not be paying the tax on it and would get a refund on the difference. Well that wasn't the case. They only gave me the $1.99 towards the exchange. I can't believe they wouldn't apply the rewards to the exchange. I didn't ask for them to give me the $5 in cash or to give me a credit to use later. It was an exchange! Come on Sally Beauty. I think you need to rethink that policy. You have a great policy regarding love it or return it. read more

I have been to 3 different Sallys and this one is by far the best. The store is clean and organized. Matt helped me out and had suggestions on what to use for my hair. I wanted to make it more purple and I have had difficulties because my hair is very blue. He was super helpful and nice, which is something I did not get from the other locations I have been to. Do not go to the Simi Valley or Moorpark locations. I live closer to those two and I much rather drive to Thousand Oaks for the great service I had. Thanks again Matt. read more

So frustrated! First I'd like to start off by saying that the girl who helped me was actually quite nice. The review is for the terrible advice and product. Three days ago I went to Sallys to buy extensions. I went in with the intention of buying the real-hair natural blonde extensions. I was talked into buying the half-synthetic half-real hair extensions in platinum blonde. The sales girl said it would match better. It is hard to see the real color of the extensions in the packaging so I took her word for it. First of all, these extensions are awful! Only day three with absolutely no heat contact and they're already frizzy and broken. The sales girl told me they should be in really good condition for a good month if I took care of them. Second of all, and the biggest issue, these extensions did NOT even remotely, under any lighting, match my real hair. They were at least 5 shades lighter. I had to go get my hair dyed to match these extensions which only lasted for 3 days. I shouldn't have listened to her. Be ware of advice, I don't think they are experts. 2 stars because she was a nice person. read more

I've been a Sally's customer for about 7 years and I've never had an experience like the one I had today. Most of the time the workers there can give me minimal information on the products I ask about & in some cases have given me wrong info. But I went in today (about an hour ago) to buy stuff to fix my hair because it came out the wrong shade of blonde. Not only was the worker very friendly, she made sure I was using the right products & gave me helpful tips. Having employees that are knowledgeable makes a huge difference.
