Love this place I love shopping in a clean organized store and this one is taken care of. The produce section looks like it's out of a movie, so neat! I only buy steaks and meat here, they have the best quality. In all my years of shopping here, I have yet to find anything expired, and I can't say that about any other market I have shopped at. If I could give negative number of stars I would. We ordered home delivery 2 weeks ago and out of 6 items, we received 3. We ordered several packs of frozen peas and didnt get 1 bag. We ordered a few other items and didnt get those either, and no notification. If a home delivery service cannot reserve items within 2 weeks, they should not be doing home delivery. My elderly parents shop here almost exclusively since Albertsons closed down on Sycamore. My parents are in their late 80's so they only make it in once a week but everyone in the store knows them by name and not just in the pharmacy dept. My parents are old school from Brooklyn NY and that's how everyone treats each other in the old neighborhoods back there. So it is awesome how they get to still experience it here in Simi Valley as well. read more

They often run out of certain products like berries. The shelving look like they have been picked over and not restocked. The meat and fish section is tiny and lacking selection. The lines are longer than they should be due to a perpetual shortage of cashiers. I give 4 stars to the staff for their friendliness, 1 star to management for their inability to properly manage this store. Much is being blamed on Albertsons for their lack of commitment to Vons and Pavilions, a fact which will only help emerging competition gain traction in areas being underserved. read more

I frequent this place often since its close to home, and it is always clean and the employees are always helpful and friendly. The beer selection is awesome at good prices and they tend to have overstocked ice cream at half price. :p My only, and probably the most important thing to me, is the produce section. It is always clean and fully stocked, however the fruits ALWAYS seem to be picked too early. Every time I buy bananas, even if I sift through, I have to let them sit for 2-3 days. So, if you are planning on eating one right away, I would suggest visiting Jon's or Fresh'N'Easy. read more

I typically shop at Vons off cochran and erringer (sister location), but over the weekend we came here because my wife likes the "cleanliness"...we were deeply disappointed in the quality of the produce we picked up ...the cualiflower literally had bugs (dead and living) inside the packaging...the tangerines and strawberries were growing fungus as we opened the packaging...the milk we just baught is expired... Needless to say, we threw it all out and had to thoroughly clean out our fridge as the juices from the rotten food leaked inside. Needless to say, we wont be shopping here again. It's more expensive than the same groceries at Vons but the quality of the food is way worse! I feel ripped off, we spent nearly $200 here in one trip and a good chunk was thrown away, the rest was overpriced. Our dinner/meal plans for the weekend went out the window, we ended up ordering in because so many of the items we baught were rotten and didnt have time to go grocery shopping again. It was THE oddest experience I have ever encountered at a supermarket. I bought red onions and the cashier, a middle-aged woman was behaving like a 12-year old "eww onions! That's so gross. Ewwww!" I was really quite shocked by her VERY immature behaviour and vocal, unnecessary opinion of my liking to red onions. WOW!! I just looked at my receipt and it's the store Director!!!! I live closest to this store so frequent it a lot. Have since 2006. It is always very clean. The bagging staff are younger adults and I have had to stop them from making bad choices (like putting a watermelon on top of all of my produce and the rest of the card...including eggs). Just last week the Manager helped me look for a coupon item (water) and when we couldn't find any (sold out) they gladly and quickly got me a Raincheck (my first ever) which I appreciated. They have odd things that the other stores do not have, which I appreciate. The produce is normally very good and bountiful. Always overpriced though. Vons used to have the best sourdough baqeutts and they along with Albertson changed the recipe and the new one is NO GOOD . They never have rustic bread anymore, what a joke. I came here to pick up some groceries for my parents. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and organization in the store. I was greeted by a very nice Vons employee who asked me if I wanted a shopping cart and then proceeded to wipe it down with disinfectant. The entire store is marked with "social distance tape " on the floors. There were a lot of vons employees there stocking the shelves and answering customers questions, very friendly and helpful. At check out they had plexi glass windows to protect the customer from the cashier, and vice versa. Everyone was wearing their masks and the cashiers were also wearing gloves. It was a pleasant shopping experience and helped me feel a little less anxious about venturing out to the grocery store during this stressful time. read more

Good selection but everytime I come they are short on checkers with the lines crazy long. We are talking 2-3 registers open on a weekend afternoon and lines of 6+ people. Went shopping there last week i noticed the name change it is now Von,s went to produce have new displays the first one had no price,s on anything that was displayed the lunch meat was 30% empty their were out of other things as well that was in the sale ad what did they improve by make these changing to the store if you can,t keep it stocked. cashiers are friendly i don,t thing can find the right manager to run it they have had many over the years. read more

We shop at Pavillions (now called just Vons) to get the items that Walmart grocery is out of. But it seems now that the Vons is not keeping items in stock. Went there last nite and the were out of the hamburger buns we buy. Talked to someone at the service desk and he said I can let the mgr know but she is new and not there. He didn't seem too interested in helping but was nice about it. If they want to stay competitive and stay in business they may want to stay on top of the stock situation. They can get the oberflowbusiness from the Walmart that doesn't care. Just sayin......also music is really loud in that store. Certainly didn't shop around. This review is solely for the produce department quality. For a bare minimum of the last 3 to 6 months, but much likely longer than that, the produce department has been putting out subpar produce or I've had the continual bad luck of picking subpar produce. Today's selection was the last straw and prompted me to write this review. I opened two melons both of which were bad. When I say bad I'm not referring to the taste. I understand you can't control that. I mean bad as in it had expired or was on the cusp of expiring. I then have to question whether or not I want to chance making myself ill by eating them. Still craving some fruit and it being summer, I decided to just put those melons in the fridge and maybe try to use them in a smoothie later. I moved onto the tree ripened mango. I opened it and lo and behold multiple brown spots. I open the lychee and I was presented with the same thing. Now I am going to complain about the taste. I'm not sure if they switched suppliers or what's happening but the fruit this season from this store has tasted so insipid and so sour. It's been a huge disappointment and feels like a waste of money. From now on I will be buying my produce from Trader Joe's or Sprouts. I've wasted too much money at Pavilions. read more

The sandwich area is a joke. Usually there is no one manning it and the people working behind the counter further down, don't even look to that area to help. As was my same experience today! The deli woman continued helping people who arrived after i did until i called her out. I had waited through 3 customers, arriving after me, in a different area (hot food section) before addressing the issue. 2 people waiting behind me gave up and left! I've ordered sandwiches here for years. The quality has gone down, prices up! And I've had this same "invisibility" experience several times. What was different this time was the actual food quality and attitude of the deli worker. Once I finally received help, I asked for "olive spread" and she looked at me like I was crazy and told me that they don't have it. I pointed out to her that It's still on the menu. Other Times that I have ordered and something wasn't there the person behind the counter would go out to the floor and get the jar, produce, or cut the meat in order for you to get what you needed. Not today...instead I was told "we don't have it!" Then she grabs a jar of some kind of jelly and tried to substitute the Olive spread for jelly!!! Unbelievable It's faster, tastier and more economic to go to Hamburger Habit across the parking lot. So disappointed all around!!! read more

Something is not right at this store? There's an uneasy feeling I get when I've shopped here over the past three months. Some of the employees really are trying hard but man oh man the others are up for worst employees of the year. Another issue I have is selection. It seems a little spotty on some of the items. The other issue I have with this store is the continuous stench you must endure when pulling your shopping cart at the west side entrance. I've brought this to their attention (managers) three times now. And they have done nothing. They confirm this is a problem but do nothing. Is it too much to ask that everything I pay for actually makes it into my bags and cart on the way out of the store? Apparently it is. I cannot count the number of times that I have paid for items and I go home to find they have not made it into my car. When I call the store they tell me the same thing...come back and pick it up. How difficult can it be to put the items in my cart? It isn't rocket science. I'm starting to think they do it on purpose. Hey..its a simple thing..I pay for it - you put it in a bag and in my cart! They don't have self check here, and sometimes the wait can be excruciating. The checkers are on a not in a hurry basis.They sometimes have a really slow checker in the quick lane. Otherwise the grocery selection and deli food is OK. read more

I like the fact they have a Starbucks inside and thats about it. This past sunday at 7:15 am after the time change the express lane is the only one open. One in particular is mad at the world and is very rude. She should not be involved with customers. She told me I shouldnt shop in the morning if I was in a hurry. The funny part is I wasnt in a hurry and was only making small talk. She made everyone in line feel akward when she started throwing things. I had the worst experience today there. The cashier Jonathan (I'm looking at his name on my receipt) was horrible at calculating discounts and charged me extra in a couple items and if that's not enough horrible at customer service. When I went back to let him know that he had overcharged him he asked me to wait in line again. After waiting I showed him the receipt and he realized his mistakes, he didn't say anything but walked away to help the other person in line. I spend so much time waiting in line in first place, waiting to talk to him and now he expected me to wait back in the line again for the refund. My time is valuable, so I walked away pissed and overcharged. Thanks for online shopping. That's why more and more stores are closing, poor customer service. read more

Twice in the summer of 2014 I have been shopping & had women wandering around the store with their purse size pups.....I understand People Like Paris Hilton got away with this but really ? This is where I go to BUY my food, The dogs all perfectly cute & coiffed as well but still is there no rule on DOGS being in the market, NO HEALTH LAW, these dogs were not marked as therapy dogs, they were PETS, I ask the clerk, a teen age boy , he just shrugged his shoulders, I ask another clerk & he too acted as if nothing could be done, I went & complained to the manager & ask if Im allowed to put my pit bull in the cart & shop when I feel like it... This review strictly applies to the olive bar. I am a huge olive person and I have a hard time finding them anywhere but here and Vons on Erringer. Sadly, if I want olives that aren't old and on the verge of molding, I have to drive to Thousand Oaks Vons to get them. This particular store is the worst when it comes to having fresh olives. 90% of the time I check the olives they are shriveling up and have a white coating (mold) forming inside the olives. The ONLY time I saw fresh olives was on Christmas. I've brought this up to the manager and returned rotten ones a couple times...just to have the same selection the next time I go. It's such a shame! Kinda small. Wouldn't qualify as a "supermarket". More of a large neighborhood market. They do have alot of the essentials. The selection is not the most robust. The produce is a bit overpriced. Service is pretty good. One time I got home and was missing an item but it was on the receipt, so I went back and the cashier was nice and gave me another one free. I've been there about 30 times and am pleased with it. Good location. Lots of other good stores in vecinity. read more
