Made a quick stop a few weeks back and the employee who helped me made it a great experience! Got a sample and asked for a few recommendations, to which the employee gave a good variety of what's popular. She also wasn't pushy with sales, just letting me know which new products were available. Didn't know they had a coffee scotchmallow (for a limited time) and appreciated her letting me know! It's been a long time since I steeped foot into a sees candies... Also first time at this location. Had to pick up a last minute gift and obviously, can't go wrong with anything sweet. Same friendly welcome right when you walk in. The gracious sweet hi and the highlight, the piece of candy to start. There have all you favorite already prepackaged and wrapped for you. Got the quick and easy type that just wants to grab and go. It's been a while for me, so picking the pieces was always a nice touch. I don't remember, but now it seems like they are per pound. I've been buying here for years. Always feel the chocolate is a bit overpriced, but at least they soften the blow by offering samples - nope, not today. When you spend a bunch of money, they usually throw a complimentary caramel sucker or something in the bag - nope, not today. Came today because they 20% off their lollipops right now. I got a couple boxes. I tried the butterscotch. Definitely not as sweet as the regular ones, but a guiltless treat. I love See's have since I was a kid. The sugar free does have an aftertaste that lingers in your mouth. The young lady working this morning was very sweet. I've been to this location at least a dozen times over the years and yesterday was the worst experience! There were many workers on the floor, stacking boxes of candy. What I especially came in for, the Christmas trees, they were out of. But we purchased 3 already bagged chocolates and some random pieces. While talking to one of the employees, near the employee door, a woman flew open the door and almost hit me! Then, while standing at the counter (my purse was on the counter), to pick out candy, a customer walked right in between me and my purse, as if I wasn't even there! Unbelievable!!! The person behind the counter said nothing to this RUDE customer. The worst part was when we got home, we opened two of the bags. The chocolate was stale! And one piece was completely broken (chocolate off the side and bottom) and the inside dried out! These bags are about $13.00 each. What a disappointment! I've always enjoyed the soft centers. Unfortunately, I don't want to go through the hassle of returning them (especially after reading some of the reviews). This store needs to check their inventory better and pay attention to opening doors. Absolutely the rudest staff at any See's shop! We were given See's as a gift, but needed to exchange it because we cannot eat nuts. I walked in and told the woman at the register (to the right as you walk in) I needed to do an exchange. She glared at me, sighs and tells me I have to go stand in line. It's my turn at the counter and I tell her I have an exchange. This employee points to the employee I just talked to and says she has to do the exchange! Both were very rude and very put out that they had to do an exchange. On top of that, 2 of the items were Easter candy. She tells me that I should just keep it because they've been sold out of them - or I could maybe sell them to someone on the sidewalk! Ha ha, very funny...NOT. The candy is wonderful but there is 1 woman who has worked there for years who is always grumpy and makes the purchase a miserable experience. I try whenever possible to get my Sees at any other location other than the Simi on Cochran location. All other locations have the nicest employees. My wife and daughter were refused service for not wearing a mask inside the store today. There is no mask mandate in CA anymore and whether or not a person wears a mask should be a choice. A store shouldn't make someone wear a medical device that they don't want to wear. To top it off, the employees had masks on and a full plexi glass barrier for their own "protection" from my disease ridden family that are perfectly healthy. We have always spent hundreds of dollars a year at See's and will no longer be giving them our business. We used it as a teaching moment with our six year old daughter to teach her about discrimination and that there was once a period in our nation's history where people were refused service for not looking like others. I hope you guys reconsider your decision to discriminate against your fellow humans and learn to love and accept all. Even those that don't look and act exactly like you. read more

I hope this reaches See candy management before I do my best to get to management and up. 7/2/2020 Both my aunt and grandmothers (Latin women) went into use their gift cards they were extremely discriminated against in this store. They were asked to social distant even though they live in the same home, no other families or couples who were all white had to do the same. They were yelled at by this white women because she didn't understand what they wanted. They were told to wait to the side so they could fix the order, which is fine... She then proceeded to fill 5 other orders and was avoiding them after 20 minutes. Others in line even noticed the mistreatment from this employee and were extremely upset that See candies would employee someone so rude and racist. My family decided it was best to walk away from the store after the treatment because they were worried there candy would be contaminated by this person. You have to love their traditional outfits! It always reminds me of that Lucy & Ethel episode where Lucy eats all those chocolates in the candy factory. Their chocolate is fantastic. They always, always have enough help so that there's no wait or a small wait. They give you free chocolate samples. (C'mon, that is itself is amazing at this day in age!) And there's never a TIP JAR!!! I love their seasonal treats and their perennial chocolates. Those butterscotchy caramel suckers, the chocolate eggs, the candy sticks - yum! Just walked into get some chocolates. Went out of my way To stop for my husband's birthday. I was looking around at all of the prepackaged options. The one lady working doesn't even acknowledge that I'm in the store. She is helping wrap a customers package. She was going above and beyond wrapping Thes customers purchase and completely disregarded that there was myself in the store waiting to be checked out. I don't mind waiting but she completely disregarded that I was waiting to be rung up I heard somebody in the back that could've easily came out to ring me up. Meanwhile she is still talking and wrapping to the client about who knows what. At least she could've acknowledged me and told me she'll be with me soon. Who doesn't love Sees Candies at Christmas time. With that frame of mind, I go over to Sees Candies in Simi Valley and bought 7 boxes of truffles to give out as gifts. After swiping my gift card and entering the pin, the sales lady insisted that it did not register and that I do it again. I warned her about double billing but to no avail. After swiping the second time, the gift card detected double billing by showing insufficient funds. I pointed this out but she refused to cancel the transaction saying that she doesn't have the option. I went home printed the gift card details and went back to the store. Long story short, no action from the store up to now.i have posted the details in an email to their customer support and I am waiting. It is hard to comprehend to what extent they are willing to destroy goodwill just to cover up their mistakes. read more

Week day hours are really limited during off seasons, so it took me a while to go in and redeem my one pound certificate from Christmas, but I went today and it was such a wonderful experience. Having never packed a pound for myself, this was amazing. A pound really is a lot more candy than one would think. The wonderful lady who was helping me started by offering me a sample, but when I said I didn't like nuts, she offered me something else and helped me pick one to taste. I decided to try something new -- a dark chocolate caramel patty, which was amazing. Just a great experience overall. So nice. I should go to See's more often. read more

While I understand that with Covid business's are strict on how many people work inside the store I decided to call because I live far from the nearest store and they decided to shut off their phones so I couldn't call to ask about their inventory. During this difficult time I was so pleased at how these ladies took care of my order. In August it was necessary to have a virtual baby shower for my daughter. We delivered a goodie box to all the guest and wanted to include See's truffles as part of the dessert box enclosed. The ladies were so helpful with the order and making sure everything was right. They met me outside with my order in the heat and made sure she was all taken care of. This was the seamless part of what turned out to be a beautiful Zoom gathering of dear friends and family.
