I love coming to the location. The place has great customer service. I always go to the deli. The guys there, are very polite, professional, courteous, friendly and helpful. Particularly, after mom passed away, they help me out when it comes to buying food such as the hot and ready stuff. The atmosphere is great, lively, especially when it's busy. There are plenty of employees around if you need help. The store is generally clean. The items are stocked. Plenty of parking space. Getting out is a problem like many stores. Sometimes, they have few people working the counters while there are many people waiting. If you have a few items, I recommend, use the self-checkouts. As far as prices go, you need to use the app as well as look at the paper ads instead of throwing them away. Use coupons if you can. There are great deals, but understand if you don't, this is a grocery store. Traditionally, grocery stores are almost always more expensive than places like Target, Walmart, Trader Joe's, food markets, etc. It's always been that way. But it's also the times. Inflation has gone up over the years, so prices are higher than most. It would be great if the politicians cared when you vote for them to do their job. Not stand around and tell the public, live with it. Which is why, many times, we have different people elected. Hold them accountable, not enable them. Maybe one day, inflation & prices will eventually come down when we the people elect politicians who actually care, not say things that make you nod your head and smile. In the end, I like coming to this Vons location. I've had great experiences shopping here. While I don't do my main grocery shopping here, I come for the deli, and sometimes for the fruit and vegetables. They do have great prices, but use the app and ad paper when shopping. read more

For the love of god do not go here and do not for the love of god buy meat from here first off the meat cutters here just plain and simple stink. There cuts would look better out of a meat grinder because it's about as equivalent. They are hacked up like no other as if they have a wood chipper doing the cutting. The guy in the mask is insanely rude and most of all the quality of the meat here is god awful. Do yourself a favor and just go to the one on Yosemite if you're going to buy meat go in early and talk to their meat cutter over on Yosemite. It's in a big plaza with lot of parking so I'm usually able to just go in and out. They also have $5 sushi on Friday which is a great value. read more

Always has what we're looking for... however am not super tickled pink by the digital coupon nonsense. I don't consider myself a penny pincher but these days when a loaf of bread costs what it does everyone looks a little closer at prices and discounts. Having to plan via an app to buy discount groceries is a step to far - at least for me. Otherwise I like this market and frequent it often. Especially when I don't feel like spending $500 at Costco for the one item I walk in for but the 30 I leave with, and have no idea why. read more

This Vons is horrible; especially when it comes to both their App deals and honoring their advertisements! I say a big "Buyer Beware"!! In regard to their app deals, over the past several visits there has been screwups ranging from $7 to $20. Fortunately, I checked every receipt and go to their Customer Service for refunds. They always give me the proper refund, but I wonder how many others are ripped off customers hundred thousand dollars per month. They always just blame the app. In regard to Advertisement, it is often that they run short on their sales items. So, you have to get a rain check. However lately they've been saying if it's a "Just 4 U Deal" product, they cannot give out any rain checks. I know they have given me rain checks for these many times in the past. Today, they refused to do it again; for Planter's Peanuts that are normally $3.99 but were supposed to be on sale for $0.97. I think this is false advertising, as I never have seen a written policy on it. In any case it is highly misleading! I purchased 4 filets of dover sole last week. When i got home i opened the butcher paper and almost threw up. The bad fish smell was so overwhelming it took over an hour to get the smell out of our house . That fish was not safe. I threw it away. The only seafood i've ever bought here was shrimp. I took a chance but glad as hell we didn't eat it. I have no problem buying a steak or chicken from the butcher counter but i'd think twice about buying seafood . What a nightmare. Von's desperately needs new management. I shop at Von's regularly spending thousands of accumulated dollars. Checking out today, the bagger forgot to bag an expensive fruit platter. I drove back and was put through an embarrassing time. I showed my receipt, but the manager didn't believe me and had to go upstairs to view the video. In the meantime I hear that individuals cart full baskets of goodies out the door without paying. I waited for 30 minutes and still no manager. Upper management should take notice of this lazy worker. I finally bought another tray and left. Where is Trader Joes when a community desperately needs them? Shoutout to LACI in the bakery!!! I was walking around aimlessly trying to find all of my grandparents favorite and to my dismay, there was literally 0 slices fresh French bread. Such a particular ask, I finally found the last non-sliced version of the bread they wanted, but it seemed like no one was around! I started kind of making some noise and saying "excuse me!" In the loudest/quietest voice I could. It was obvious someone was working hard to close their station in the back because I heard pans, but Laci emerged and asked me if I needed help! She seemed busy and I begrudgingly asked her to slice my bread and she told me absolutely no problem and started to help me. I asked her if she was having a long day and she said no but I'm supposed to be closing and clocking out right at 6 o'clock! So she literally went out of her way to help me even though she knew she had to clock out. This is the kind of service that sets people apart in any industry. I am so grateful Laci!!! When you have ornery grandparents at home that deep down have the love in their hearts- just missing sliced French bread- you'll know my relief at meeting Laci. I felt like I needed to eat real food and came to get some groceries like an adult. I picked up some fruits and vegetables and decided to hit up the deli. The young lady behind the counter was friendly and remembered me from the previous day which is always nice. They currently have a festive turkey salad with stuffing and cranberries which is absolutely delicious. I also purchased a 4-pack of Hawaiian rolls which I've never seen and made little sliders with the salad. This store needs a lot of help. You absolutely must check to see if the food is expired before you buy because it often is, especially in the deli, which really needs new management. Just found some salad there that expired 3 weeks ago. The produce department and the meat department are well stocked and the guy's in both those areas are always helpful. The check out staff is friendly but don't try to get help finding anything in the store from the baggers, because they don't usually know where their own merchandise is located. It's the overall customer service that needs an overhaul. Can't wait to shop somewhere else. Went back today and found expired egg nog. Have to watch this store for old food. read more

My husband and I have been shopping at this location for a few years & generally love it. Today we went in to purchase a few things through self check out, The person running the self check at 4:15 was "Dustin" and he was absolutely rude to a customer that was loading her groceries on the wrong side of the self check lane. He was very firm sounding telling her she' was "doing it wrong" and he was rolling his eyes. Just by the look on his face you I could see that he must hate his job but no one ever needs to talk to a customer like that. Since she obviously needed help he could have walked over and shown her instead of yelling at her from his register. Dustin, please work on your people skills and if you hate your job enough to yell at your customers then maybe it's time to look for a new job. read more

I'm not sure why their rating is so low! When checking out everyone is super friendly and I can always count on a friendly and pleasant in and out experience. My chef friend lives around here and often hosts dinner parties. So I always come here to grab a bottle of wine or a 12 pack of beers. They have a really good selection of beers and wine here, so it's always a nice stop if you're looking for "a red" to match that nice pasta you're making for dinner. So this review is for the bakery department only, I went in on a Thursday and ordered 45 cupcakes for my engagement party on the following Friday I got red velvet chocolate and vanilla butter cream frosting and cream cheese frosting. The cupcakes themselves everyone loved they were nice and fluffy but just a plain cupcake nothing to rave over. I had asked the girl helping me if I could get navy and burgundy frosting since those were the coolers of the wedding and I specifically told her if you can't do those colors don't do it just do white. I also asked will the frosting have the food coloring after taste she said no and let me try some. The colors came out magenta and royal blue and yes I could taste the food coloring! Fail fail fail. Unfortunately this store's best days are behind it. Like its sister company Von's, this store has fallen by the wayside. While it's clean and they have a good selection of stuff, there are problems that have seemed to be ignored. Recently​, they have bust a soap display right where you walk in by the fruit section, which is pretty idiotic since the smell of these soaps permieate throughout the store and it smells like a beauty counter. There is never anyone to help you, the lines are always long and the parking lot is impossible to get in and out of during rush hour. I only go here in a pinch and when I have to. I'm not sure what happened here over the course of the past few years but it's on the bottom of my choice for local grocery stores. read more

This is my hometown Pavilions and I love coming here. The Pavilions is located in a nice, upscale plaza and is pleasingly aesthetically to pull up to. The interior is great looking and clean. Shelves are stocked always. I like that I can buy organic items here and they are often on sale or have specials. We like to buy their fresh baked rolls and bread here. Most of the time, it's fresh. Other times, its just about timing. I like to ask the baker when the next batch is ready to be put out and usually come back, if possible, to get the fresh rolls. Flowers here usually great looking and healthy. Sometimes however a little on the pricier side. The folks that work here are friendly and it's nice that they try to remember who you are. It keeps things friendly. read more

This place is pretty close by to where I usually am so it's convenient. They are fairly clean and never too crowded. You'll find the essentials you need here. They could use a much wider selection of products here though....kind of hit or miss to tell you the truth. We buy Tea, baguettes, and cheese here mostly. The main reason we go here is because of the Redbox right by the front door. Unfortunately, it's almost always sold out of the dvds. Very popular spot for Redbox dvd renters. Employees from a local prison half way house stocking the shelves and you can feel the tension in the air. Scary, indifferent, obnoxious staff. We won't let our girls shop here, wife will now shop at Ralphs and the Target grocery section. Bakery items are obviously re-wrapped after their expiration date with new freshness dates added so don't trust anything in-store-baked. After several purchases, our bread rolls were stale then mouldy in hours. Used to last 7 to10 days. Store stinks. Smells like low tide at the Jersey Shore. Ralphs bakery items much better and fresher and cheaper. Good thing: They open at 5:30 AM and that can be convenient if you can tolerate the rude employees. We're done with Pavilions and Vons. I can't stand this market! I live within walking distance but drive to Albertson's to avoid going here. They are ALWAYS out of what I need or just don't carry it anymore. I'm talking about everyday basic things. And to make it more frustrating, they force their employees to ask you if you found everything you were looking for. Really? Are they going to go to Albertson's to get it? Then the checker thanks you by name with a smile plastered on their face. "Thank you, Miss Harris." Annoying. So I'm giving Vons one star because: The Vons set-up during a frickin' pandemic running rampant and with California's ICU beds all filled up with the sick and dying is VERY BAD!!! Today I shopped at Vons and was forced to deal with many people standing right next to me in line, closely crowding me, as if we suddenly were back to normal and not in a pandemic?!! WTF?!! What happened to tape lines on the floor to remind people to social distance??? And during my previous Vons visit just a few days ago when I went with my son, we walked by people not wearing a frickin' mask? What the hell happened to Vons??? They were being so good to their customers and so careful with their employees, appropriately cautious and concerned AS THEY SHOULD BE, and now... what???  So I did my research and found out Vons is no longer giving hazard pay as of 5 months ago!! Yeah, you heard me right!! Their workers just get regular pay now during this highly contagious and deadly pandemic!! These workers are risking their lives!!! The people that work at my Vons are all lovely, brave souls, and, again, they are risking their lives every frickin' day to serve their community!! But, horrified to say, apparently Vons doesn't care about their people and their families lives anymore??? Not to mention their customers!! I mean, what the hell kind of company are you, Vons? SHAME on you!! SHAME on you, Vons!! Just a few days prior I'd learned that Ralphs and Food 4 Less closed a couple of stores so they would not have to cough up hazard pay for their workers??? And I thought THEY sucked, and now I learn about Vons and how rottenly they're treating their workers, not paying them what they deserve?? I mean, their workers are risking their lives, they're in the line of fire, they could die because of being there at work to serve us, and the higher-ups are not doing what they need to do to protect them, like: (1) Mandated mask-wearing!! (2) Tape for social distancing!! (3) And giving their employees well-deserved hazard pay for their service and the risk they take!! This is a very dark time in our history, and -- WAKE UP, EVERYBODY!! -- the pandemic is far from over!! This is no time to relax precautions or cheap out on your workers who risk their lives!! They help keep our world going, and everyone should give a damn and stand behind them, period!! The Vons bigwigs need to give them extra pay for risking infection and death on a daily basis, and they need to do it right NOW!! And Vons needs to again enforce the safety protocols -- mask-wearing and observing tape lines to practice social distancing -- to make sure everybody is safe, and especially their employees while they keep Vons in business and their communities served. I mean, come on, Vons!!! This is a deadly pandemic!! Do the right thing for your workers, and screw Vons' profit margin for the duration!! Meh is right. Enrique in the bakery is amazing. everything else sucks. Looking for good customer service? do not come to pavilions. Every time i'm being rung out, they checkers are busy chatting and holding their own personal conversations, yelling across the check stands to one another. Literally the only time I am ever acknowledged is when the checker hands me my receipt and says "have a nice day". Might as well replace them with self checkers because there is NO customer service. So many of them are CRABBY too. Seriously, just because the union protects you, doesn't mean you can be a straight up JERK to everyone. I go here at least once or twice a week for their pre-made, pre-wrapped sandwiches. Only $1.99 if you buy two, which is usually lunch and dinner for 4 bucks. Their salads are also good, but those are a bit more pricey. They've got a wide assortment of things to go with a sandwich too. (It is grocery store after all.) Good place to go for a lunch. Especially if you don't know what you want. Their donuts/pastries/cakes are also very tasty. read more

First off I'll start with the positives. Many great people working there, definitely better than a Jons. Also, if you want a fantastically decorated cake Enrique the bakery manager is the best! He works super hard each day and has real talent for cake decorating. Now on the other hand is the company itself. It underpays its employees what they should be earning ($.20 raise after over two years of service?), and the management is very cruel (at every Safeway company I've seen). Sadly, the "nicest" store in Simi for now, but I wouldn't go there unless to have Enrique make me a cake. read more
