I went shopping earlier today, and when I saw that "special offer," I decided to grab four of them--it looked like a great deal. But when I got to the self-checkout, what a surprise: it turned out they were actually regular price. I asked the attendant on duty where that offer was posted; she seemed to think I was lying and asked me to show her. When I showed her the display, she said she didn't know who had put the items there and that the price wasn't valid. My complaint is this: I don't know who the supervisor, manager, or person in charge is, but they really need to pay more attention to where they place items--and if the store makes a mistake, they should honor the displayed price. read more

I am so darn disappointed right now in my local Ralph's. Worst customer service ever. Trying to simply buy apples for donation and trying to price gouge me. Has to run around store to get picture of proper price only to be hassled again for discounted price. Give me a break today read more

Talk about an attitude problem. The self checkout lady Colleen was extremely unhelpful. When I questioned an item that was advertised and had a clear label of different price, she absolutely refused to honor it saying it's because it's Valentine's Day. Everything gets marked up. When I informed her there was a clear cut sign saying a different price that was literally half of what it scanned for she refused to get a manager, nor would she honor the price and basically refused to give me the district manager phone number. I had the item removed from my receipt and went to the customer service center. Eventually, someone was able to help me out and actually stated they would gladly honor the price. However, my specific item was placed back into rotation. Based on the individual's attitude I definitely want to talk to the district manager as I couldn't believe the self check out cashier's attitude. She was the exact opposite of everyone else in the store. Clearly, she only wants to do the bare minimum and has zero customer service skills. I will certainly be calling the store Monday morning when the manager is normally in. Very disappointing experience. You know it's bad, when all the staff is clearly half her age, yet they provided more empathy, more customer service and we're actually willing to address the issue. Ralphs continues the race to the bottom. I used to like shopping here but over the years they've made the aisles narrower and loaded them with in aisle displays to make shopping a misery. Fortunately I generally skip the processed foods in the middle anyway. I see they're now locking up a couple of aisles (beauty items etc.) which should make shopping that section even worse (hello Amazon). Finally, self checkout appears to video you and flag you for stealing or maybe even just having your own bag in the cart. An employee had to come and mark us ok to proceed. It's a sad commentary on the way things are going and it's not all the fault of Ralphs, but navigating the crowed aisles and then being treated like a thief is really the kind of experience that drives me to look for alternatives. read more

This administration has this country in a tissy including some... groceries stores at those that fall for the b/s. How is it we spend hundreds of dollars at a time and prices of groceries raising this produce is looking worse and worse but what really gets me is it's bad enough we have to bag our our own groceries for years now but now have to bring our own bags and if not forced to beg for bags!!! Put the flimsy paper bags back out so we can reach for them AND pay for them just as we always have when they were plastic. Feeling like we some 3rd world country. Two incidents in two weeks. Don't buy any of their meat butchered and packaged in-house. They use deceptive packaging. Nice cuts on top and garbage meat on the bottom. Sneaky, I had to go get my money back. Today they overcharged for wine and chicken that was on sale, they charged full price. I had to drive back again and get my money back again! I have been picking up my groceries for many years. My experience this last week was terrible since the regular person wasn't there. I had to wait for 45 minutes to get my order brought out to me. The deli is horrible. Dirty counter tops. Can rarely find anyone to help. When you do they act like your putting them out. They want to slice meat and get you gone asap. I ask for thin cut. Not sure what they call thin 1/8 inch is not thin. I now drive to Moorpark Ralphs. They are wonderful. I won't ever go here again. read more

I like ralphs in simi for two reasons, they have the best avocados in town and self check out cuz i hate standing in line behind a huge cart when i only have one or two items . for over a year i've gotten the best avocados at this store . Don't buy from Vons - they are buying diseased fruit, it's soft to touch but totally sour & hard and unripe inside near the pit. I have had perfection every time I've purchased my avocados here at this Ralph's. reason for 4 stars : I don't buy any other fruits or veggies in this store, they keep the mushrooms & herbs & salad in the closed door cooler so everything has a lot of condensation = rot & it's very dark especially in the produce dept. As a frequent Ralph's App pick up user, I have recently relied on this service more so since having a baby. I am a patient person; however, I believe management needs to take initiative on the Friday pick ups. 2 weeks in a row my order has been 2+ hours behind. On 4/4, I set my pickup for 3 pm, thinking an earlier time would be more helpful to the staff. Poor Rober came in to work at 3 and was slammed with orders. My order should have been completed by then. I called at 4:20pm for an update and was told my order was being worked on. At 5:30pm, I received a call noting it was not going to be ready any time soon. This is unfair to Rober and I am sure he receives a lot of the backlash from customers. This is where management should be stepping in. I don't think I will be shopping at this Ralph's any more, unfortunately. read more

This store is literally three blocks from my house, it would be so convenient if they actually had products stocked! Half the time I can't find basic produce items and what they do have is usually old, wilted, limp. Their product shelves are often lacking. Today I couldn't get basic hot dog buns or a full loaf of sourdough bread. Not exactly specialty items! Also, their shelves are way too high. At 5'5" I shouldn't have to ask for help to get things off the top shelf. And there are so many displays in the aisles (that are way too narrow) that you can't get by anyone who might be coming the other way. Everybody is blocking everybody else. It makes the shopping experience extremely frustrating. I'm going to start going to Vons which is 3 miles away 100% of the time... At least I know when I go there I can complete my shopping list in one trip, instead of having to go multiple places. The only reason I gave them two stars is because I actually like the checkers. They are very personable and I know this isn't their fault. Terrible management, terrible ownership by Kroger. The store itself I would give negative two stars if I could! read more

I stopped by this Ralph this morning to take advantage of the Gatorade special. I tried another Ralph near my house and the good flavors were mostly gone by the afternoon. Since this Ralph is near my work and in Simi Valley, I figure I would have better luck here. I came right when they open at 6am and was able to find 2 good flavors. The store is pretty nicely organized and is in a good size plaza with a lot of parking spots. I used the self checkout like I always do and didn't have any issues. I can understand when you've just had a lunch rush and you're refilling the trays but this looks disgusting. They didn't even try to clean them up. This is not sanitary and it was like it's been sitting there for 2 to 3 hours under the wrong temperature because it's either burnt to begin with or became very weird just sitting there. I asked one of the people that work there and they thought no big deal and then I went to ask the manager and put it up, leaving because I was so grossed out. This is litterally the worst grocery store in Simi Valley. The employees in the meat department are always helpful but that's it. The service deli isnfar from a service deli. They are rude and act as if you should be ashamed for asking them questions. They also yell over the counter at other employees while helping customers. Management is nonexistent. Shelves are empty. This Ralph's closed almost an hour early on a Friday night while a parking lot full of people arrived prior to the time they are supposed to close. I was told that it was the night managers decision. It's terrible service and shows absolutely no consideration for loyal costumers when managers such as this night manager of Ralph's Simi Valley decides to arbitrarily close almost an hour early. This particular location closes at 1am so when I arrived at 12:15am to find the doors locked while workers are still serving costumers inside it's infuriating. It's also a Friday night so people are still active and expected to be served. I personally watched more than 20 cars pull up in the 15 mins I sat parked in front all were extremely inconvenienced. Many of us drive a distance to this location and to be turned away while there are well abled workers still inside is bad for the brand. It's bad enough that Ralph's, 24 hour fitness, Banks and other businesses refuse to return to their pre pandemic hours,. Now you have managers that don't even want to work the hours they were given. I remember when Ralph's was open till 2am at many locations prior to the pandemic. If managers get overwhelmed by the amount of business at a location and decide to punish the customer I would conclude that they shouldn't be in management. I came into Ralph's today to pick up a few specialty items that I know this store only carries in Simi Valley. At the very front of the store when I first entered, there was a gigantic $2.99 sign for cherries. Gigantic! I picked a bag of cherries and carried on for a few more items that I came for. When I came up to the checkout, there was a man who had lost his Dr. pepper. He left it in the cart in the parking lot, and he wondered if anybody had returned it. He asked the cashier who directed him to the manager. The manager barely acknowledged him and told him, no Dr. Pepper had been turned in. He immediately turned his back to the man and seemed to care less about his lost Dr. Pepper. I checked out my items and headed to my car. I looked over my bill and noticed that the $2.99lb cherries were $5.99 and my bag of cherries was over $13.00! I went in and saw the same manager (I'm not sure but I was told his name was Jose) and asked him about the price of my cherries. He said, "Did you read the sign?" I replied yes, but I will look again. I came back and said, "Yes, it's pretty obvious, the sign is huge and says $2.99lb." He said, "does it say it's a digital coupon?" I look again and sure enough in very tiny print, it is a digital coupon. He offers no other comment, perhaps to tell me how I could get the digital coupon. So I tell him, I want to return the very pricey cherries. He then tells me to get in the very long line to the cashier to return them. I ask him if he can return them and tells me no, I need to get in the line. Then he turns his back and carries on with his "go back" cart. He was very unfriendly and had no sense of what it is to offer customer service. I rarely go into this store as I prefer the charm and friendly staff at Vons on Alamo, Trader Joe's and Sprouts. I apologized since he had to come back to his checkstand to help me and didnt look happy about it, he seemd bothered... no greeting just silence and didnt look at me. He asked "Sorry forrrr?" This store and the nearby Moorpark Raphs' seem to be suffering from shelf price tags that magically disappear. On a recent visit, I counted at least a dozen items with no shelf tags. This is particularly true in the produce department where a slew of different fruits and vegetables were totally devoid of shelf tags. If they can not manage to maintain accurate and visible shelf tags perhaps they should be asked to go back to individually pricing each and every item with a sticker like back in the 1970's. read more

Worst experience ever. I live close by and I do shop here quiet a lot like 200-300$ per month. The store manager "Nick" was so rude when I went back to return the spoiled coconuts because I didn't have the receipt but I scanned my rewards card. He said he wouldn't know if I bought them there or not without receipt even with the rewards account. I had to show him the proof of purchase by logging into my account and then he was not even apologetic about selling spoiled stuff which could have made my whole family sick. I don't want the f'ing refund for the overpriced decayed coconuts they are selling, all I need was a sorry for selling me the bad stuff. I will not go back to this place again. If you are reading this, try other safer places in Simi valley whith fresh produce, not rotten stuff. read more

I'm being nice by giving it two stars but every time I go there which is only about once a month the employees never help even though I go to them like I went to one today that was doing the self check out and he told me to go to one of the checkers I go to one of the checkers. She practically ignores me then ask the bad boy to help me out. He just goes on his phone to show me some stuff and I told him it's in the ad, they direct me to the manager I believe her name is Michelle and she was able to fix the overcharging that I typically get there then she told me I need to make sure to clip the deals under my account so when I came home, I checked to make sure I had added the deals to my account even though I know I did because I did it that morning and there it was This location is just ridiculous. I spent over an hour at the store just to pick up a few items because of being overcharged about $15 groceries are way too expensive to let them have another $15. I've been to many Fry's Kroger and Smith's in various locations throughout the United States and they have been 100% better in services in deals and I've never had issues like I do almost every time I go to the Simi Valley location. Even the one in Moorpark and one in Porter Ranch only they get different deals and have a different ad not to mention the taxes are there.. read more

I came in last minute looking for flowers. I needed 3 flower arrangements for a wedding dinner table. Thankfully I came in at the right time, met Ashley the florist from the flower shop inside Ralph's! I just explained to her what I was looking for, picked out all the flowers I loved with the vase, and she was able to created the most beautiful arrangement design. It was exactly what I was looking for so I ordered three. Thank you again Ashley for doing such a gorgeous job on the all 3 arrangements! You are amazing, so talented, and very sweet!! I did bell ringing there for about 2 months, so I got to meet some of the people there. Travis went out of his way several times. He was the only one I ever saw cleaning the carts. He is super nice as well. Look for him when you shop there. Also Ivanna was very sweet as well. It was chilly standing out there for 4 hours at a time, and she told me that she was going to Starbucks and offered to buy me a coffee. read more

I recently moved to Simi Valley and have been to this Ralph's several times. It is stunningly bad. The aisles are narrow and crowded with displays that take up half the aisle space, and they run the whole length of the aisle. Everyone that shops there is constantly trying to jockey their carts out of the way while grumbling about how crowded the store is. If they would stop trying to cram twice as much as can fit in every aisle, they can relieve the situation. The store is also very dirty. On a recent trip, there was a spill that went down in the entire aisle. It was never mopped up, had dried, and had picked up dirt from the many people walking on it. It was a long brown stain that ran the whole length of the aisle is it obviously been there long enough to dry and collect dirt and yet no one had cleaned it up, Yuck. Check out is a mess with baggers running around without actually doing much of anything they showed up twice to bag. My groceries asked me if I needed bags and then took off without doing anything: twice. I think I was asked five times if I needed bags and at the end I didn't get bags. There was a whole aisle of ground coffee, but I couldn't find any unground coffee beans, so they don't have a good handle on their inventory either and their fresh deli is often out of most everything this store is terribly run and it shows everywhere. Avoid it if you have the time. read more
