I have been shopping here for many years and recent improvements to the Seafood are a welcome addition here in the desert. Santa Monica Seafood now provides Vons with quaility selections and reasonable prices. So far I've grilled swordfish, enjoyed raw oysters, clams and smoked some fresh salmon filets. All delicious and the catfish is even farmed in US, not from asian farms where water quality and practices are in question. Give Vons seafood a try. read more

I loved this store but last week I ran in to get some fruit before work. A dog walked in just behind me... while I was paying I hear the dog cry, very very loud and a customer got the dog on the ground, face smashed with one hand w/ this mans full body weight and the other hand grabbing the back of his neck. Every time he tried to get a stronger grip on his neck he would cry out again. I do not stand for any animal abuse not matter where or who is doing the abusing. Not 1 employee even batted an eye, said 1 word or even called a manager! I had words w/ the man and I was raising my voice so this man knew I was not kidding to let the dog go NOW! He asked who the hell was i "I'm the woman that's calling the f'n police on you for animal cruelty!" The only thing 1 lady said standing behind the customer service desk was "don't use profanity" Really????? You are not concerned that an animal is being abused, that there is a Very upset customer, that this man might get bitten by treating this animal like that, Lawsuit??? No, nothing. I made a complaint to corporate. I received a call from 2 managers. 1st was there that morning and had no idea that it even happened, the 2nd said that the dog nipped at a lady. Again REALLY??!! All the more reason to have a manager Involved. If the dog nipped that manager should have known, regardless if the dog had left the store. That person lied about the nipping! The dog was in there for maybe 3-4 min cause I literally ran in & out. That dog was not bothering anyone and even after being treated that way it didn't even growl at that man let alone bite his ass, which he deserved it! The dog tried to get out after my words w/ this man and after my words w/ the lady behind the desk. Not 1 person walked over to the automatic doors to let him out. I love this Vons. Everytime I go it's very clean. The fruits and vegetables are always fresh. I especially like the variety they offer on their types of baked breads such as the french and sourdough ones. The customer service is outstanding. Everyone is always friendly and offering to help. I have now become a regular customer. I always find great deals on the things I like to buy. I do have one exception though. I purchased a coffee from their Starbucks today and unfortunately the employee there was rude. I was so surprised not to get the usual outstanding service. I was disappointed. read more

Ordered a super hero arrangement at 9:00 am picked it up at 11:00 and it was amazing. It made my daughters day so much more special.

I come here out of convenience and food quality and selection but sometimes it's not convenient when I am waiting for someone to show up at the deli. It almost happens every time, no one is around and then people line up. When the deli clerk comes back from an extended break everyone waiting begins to argue on who's next. How is it they don't have a backup at the deli?! They need to do some cross training here. I see some hard working clerks and them some that are clueless and have no sense of urgency or initiative. I don't want to hassle with that. The other issue that bothers me is this store allows solicitors to set up shop and intercept their customers. I drove here today and saw the solicitors praying on customers as they enter and have decided it's not worth it. I am not in the mood to be guilted into donating again! I already have twice! I recently purchased a bag of Tortilla chips yesterday 7/18/16, that were displayed in the front of the store in a clear plastic bag. I almost chipped a tooth eating them. Very STALE, HARD, TASTELESS. I was so embarrassed as I served them to company. I'm surprised at Von's. Please don't buy those!! read more

Monday, 28 October 2013: Vons in Victorville on Bear Valley has the best muffins in the entire area. Laura is the bakery manager and Vons devil food chocolate muffins are the best ever. I have tried all chocolate muffins from Albertson, Winco's and Food For Less store and none are better than Vons. In fact, all Vons muffins are great. read more

I have a serious love for the sandwiches that Vons makes in their bakery/deli section. I go out of my way to come to Vons just to get a sandwich made. However, my experience today was horrendous. I understand that during lunch time, it can get quite busy. I waited almost 20mins before my "order" was taken and my sandwiches were started to be made. There had been only one woman working on making sandwiches and she was hard of hearing, so when she had finished making the sandwiches of the people ahead of me, she asked a coworker of hers to help step in, due to her being unable to hear. No problem with that at all! The woman that took over for her seemed ok, at first. She began my sandwiches with a decent pace and would ask me what exactly I wanted every step of the way. However, after about 2mins, that's when she began chit chatting with her coworker (a different person than before who literally just popped up out of nowhere and began making the person BEHIND me sandwiches..and they were done BEFORE mine! PLUS!!!...with said coworker making these sandwiches--he was then in the way of the person making MY sandwiches--therefore it became a serious clusterf**ked of a mess.) The woman making my sandwiches was then distracted, repeatedly, by her coworker, and would get lost after every step she made. Finally, when she was done preparing my sandwiches, she wraps them both up in a way that barely even covered one end of both of each sandwich. Literally had to hold the sandwiches a certain way so nothing could escape the wrapping!! After all this, she puts my sandwiches up on the counter. I then reminded her that I had wanted pepperocini's and horseradish sauce on the side (I had already asked her for these things and she in turn asked me to remind her at the end of making my order to get these two things for me). As soon as I reminded her about those two things, she immediately got an attitude with me, as she then let out a long loud sigh, and proceeded to grab my sandwiches off of the counter almost violently, squishing them tremendously in the process. I asked her why she felt the need to grab my sandwiches likes that, and all she did was mumble something under her breath. So i asked her again why she just had to grab my sandwiches and squish them so violently like she did. This time all she did was look at me, but wouldn't say a word. I was speechless as I took the sandwiches off the counter and began to walk away. I quickly got angry, and put down the sandwiches in the produce section and walked out, refusing to pay for such service PLUS squished sandwiches. As I got outside I realized I really should go and speak with a manager. Therefore I went back inside and asked for the manager. Maria was the manager on duty at that moment, and let me just say-she went above and beyond to not only help me, but to just be an all around nice person. She listened to everything I told her, and was very responsive. Maria insisted I should at least have the sandwiches for no cost, just for the fact that I had to wait so long and then have to deal with that. She walked me over to where I had left the sandwiches, and then walked with me to the front where she informed one of her workers that it was ok that I didn't pay for the sandwiches. I just want to really give Maria the manager an amazing review, because that is what she deserves! It wasn't about me wanting my food for free, it was simply about letting a person in charge become aware of just what was going on over in the bakery/deli department. I just really appreciate Maria and how she went above and beyond to help me. She deserves an award of the highest valor in my book. You rock Maria the manager at this Vons location, you really really do. read more
