it's a supermarket. Everyone is polite, accommodating and impersonal. I am a regular since they're on the between my studio and home so I'm here once or twice a week. Each time you go in your a stranger. After 16 years the same cashiers have trouble pronouncing my name. The produce is adequate but nothing special a sign of the largeness of the operation. ***Five Alarm Neg!!! *** I just visited ted Vons in our neighborhood Sunday at 5:30P.M. Saturday eve. Have been a loyal customer for 4 years. We use the deli for several different items from salads to Deli Sandwiches. Just upset that we were celebrating a day early Fathers Day because of Children flying in to O.C. From distant parts of the country. They wanted a Picnic theme and focused foods in that area. One of the family favorites at the beach picnics was requested is Vons / Albertson fried Chicken. I went to the Deli here and there was a light colored large fresh batch in front of me. I waited 8 minutes for the other customers. I greeted the male employee. I told him that I wanted the 8 piece chicken specials order. He said your lucky it is fresh out. I pointed to the light color great fresh cooked batch in front of me. He saw what I wanted to order. He proceeded to take my order from a dark brown dried out looking chicken. three trays to my left. I tried my best to tell him I wanted the chicke from the fresh in front of me. He knew what I wanted! He filled all my 2 orders with the Old dark chicken. It turns out of course he lied to me to sell the chicke they cooked 3 hours earlier! Our chicken for our dinner was dried out. The white meat Breast favored by 4 family members was SOOOO Dry!!!. Just a terrible Disrespect for what the customer wanted, ME!!!! Just a bad experience and a Failure by Vons to provide a good service to a Loyal Customer. Terrible Fathers Day Celebration, Thanks to The Yorba Linda Vons Store and Its DIRECTOR MAMOOD. Idiot. I have always loved this grocery store. Yes it may be slightly more expensive than other grocery stores but it's so clean and it's close to my house. Plus, the pharmacy staff is super nice and if you go enough they remember you! :) All in all I love VONS. read more

I come here to this location because my 99 year old Nana Michele kelley lives out here. She enjoys shopping here. Everyone is very helpful but Renee is exceptional! She always rings us up quick and efficient. If there is a mistake in pricing, she will make it right. I know my Nana loves coming to vons for the quality and people. This store always has long lines, especially on weekends. Never enough check stands open. No self service lines. 3 lines open, Sunday night, 7:00 PM, no less than 20 people waiting in each. The store might make more money if it hired these things known as employees! Took us almost 30 minutes to pay for a gallon of milk in the "express line". Avoid this store if you can! read more

Dude I completely understand that stores are under pressure from this Corona Virus Hysteria and I gave Von's some major slack today. But they were supposed to open at 6 AM today! They didn't even open until 7:30. One employee announced on social media last night they were completely restocking last night and would be open at 6AM. I stood in line for an hour and 30 mins, which I had no issue with. I was prepared to stand in long lines. However, they did not even have basic items restocked, i.e. milk, no fruit, etc. Don't broadcast that you restocked when you didn't. Also, limit customers purchases, so they can't hoard stuff!! Train employees to show people where the lines end/ where they need to line up at. It was a cluster the employees didn't even know where people should line up at. They should be prepared to be more organized. read more

The Quest test lab in this Vons is by far the worst lab I have ever been to and I am old, so been to a lot of them. Only one person and that person was and is very rude, very, very rude and very unprofessional. Would not answer a simple question for me asking if the paperwork was there from my doctor. I didn't want to make an appointment and fast if there was no paperwork on file when I go for my test. Wanted to just check before I go. Had to wait for all 10 people and she still wouldn't check. read more

Be aware that Victoria the cashier lady will snatch your wallet out of your hand if you're buying alcohol and rummage around to take you ID out rather than just asking you to take it out. She'll then lecture you that you should know this if you've ever been carded before even though you've bought alcohol before and never had anyone try to go through your wallet. read more

I was just at Vons and they had two regular checkers open and one fast Express checker. There was a line of several people deep. Why does a big store like this only have two regular lanes open? I asked them to open up another Lane and they did. One women waiting in line said "now they're going to take the last person in line and leave the rest of us waiting," and that's what they did. For some reason the boxboy did not bag many of my items and I had to make more trips from the cart to the car because he only used two bags. Years agony they used to always help you out with your purchases, but now that I'm older and I could use help no one asks at all. I only shop there because their produce is relatively fresh. Otherwise I exclusively go to Trader Joe's. read more

Pharmacy AVOID. I prefer my doctor to prescribe medication and not a new pharmacist . My doctor's office called in my prescription and the pharmacist questioned my doctor. Don't know much about medicine, but I do know that my doctor has gone to school to diagnose my issues Didn't know the pharmacist was authorized to question my doctor. Moved all of my prescriptions to SavOns. There - no problem. Much happier Beware of this place. read more

I mostly go here for the Blockbuster rental kiosk. The store is very nice and they have a great selection of food but I'm not a fan of Vons pricing overall. The lines are usually short and the staff is very friendly. If you don't mind paying a little more for a wider selection and better quality service, this is your store! read more

This has been our grocery store for 25+years and there service is good, but I can never get help with flowers. The last 3 times I've been there, there hasn't been a "florist" available. People buy flowers outside of a 9-5 shift! Better staffing of this department would be appreciated. read more

I was just at Vons at about 10:30 in the morning and there were only two Checkers open for the whole store. The checker that I had did not know some specific information about a special and sent a box boy to figure it out and he couldn't figure it out so she had to go and we're all waiting in line until there's several people behind me. This is typical of this Vons, very poor customer service due to them not hiring enough checkers, especially compared to Trader Joe's where they serve you immediately. When the Box boy handled my bag of produce he was sniffling and after he set it down, he wiped his nose with his hand . I do not think people who are sick should be handling other people's food items . Also many items on the Shelf are past their due date and are still being sold. I have decided not to shop here anymore unless absolutely necessary due to extremely poor customer service. read more

I was looking for a bakery to make a Spiderman cake for my godson's third birthday. I needed a to feed about 20 people and stay within a reasonable budget. The prices of some of these cakes were astronomical. I spoke to Valerie in the bakery. She was sweet, patient and seemed confident she could make a beautiful cake within my budget. I told her I was leaving all decisions up to her. I could not have been happier when I picked up the cake! Valerie you are amazing!!! Our neighborhood supermarket. Good produce department, deli, and bakery. Most important, it is clean. I've called in orders for bakery items at the last moment several times and they are more than accommodating. The check-out lanes can get backed up during the usual busy times but even when busy, the checkers and clerks are always friendly. read more

I prefer shopping here because they have a really good bakery. There is seldom a time I shop without picking up something fresh. Deli is also good with lots of quality choices. Same with the Produce department. Meat selection also is good. The service is very good and they clearly try to help their customers find what they are looking for. THey will drop whatever they are doing to walk with you to locate an item unless you tell them that pointing is just fine. The store is clean and well-lit. They carry unusual items so if I have a recipe with odd ingredients, I'm most likely to find them here. I use their store card always and get considerable discounts that way but I'm sure the prices are at or above other nearby groceries. I shop here and pay their prices because I enjoy the experience. read more

Threw a party for 20 people ordered chicken 50 piece, spinach dip, monster strawberry fruit platter, Italian club sandwich platter, Greek salad, shrimp platter & cake. Generally, I like this location for the convenience, but we are always waiting in a line of more than 3 people, especially on weekends. Only notice the lines here, Starbucks and Disneyland. Unfortunately, lines kill sales. read more

Wandered down here due to the fact that they closed the Chino Hills location. Every employee from the deli gal to the cashier was super friendly and helpful. It's a long drive, but I plan to return for some of their 5$ Friday items. read more
