    Oat milk latte
    Golds V.

Grabbed some nachos and a latte, what a weird combination, but it works! Their nachos were interestingly square, and had a healthy serving of jalapeño, salsa and sour cream on the side. It was delicious!! The nachos were also a good size, I think we could share it among 3-4 ppl depending on your appetite. The latte came with the standard art, and was delicious. Good bold bitter flavour, I very much enjoyed the oat milk latte. The wait staff was friendly, checked on us a few times to see if we needed anything, and was very informative.

4.5 I've only tried their coffee so I can only speak on this... Everything about this place is wonderful and I love bringing people here for a quality cup of coffee. I always go for a mocha and you know it's good stuff when they ask you what type of beans you want. Latte art is beautiful and if you don't know what to try, employees are very helpful Note: They have specific hours that you cannot work on laptops because the shop is pretty small. -0.5 for being it small which I completely understand is the charm of the place. In general not a whole lot of seating, and I find it to be a bit of a tight squeeze overall, LOVE

Voodoo child is a great low key spot for coffee, but this was my first time trying drinks and it did not disappoint. They have a large menu for cocktails and beer and if none of them are for you the bartender knows a few off the menu drinks, just let them know what liquor you like! We tried two from the menu and two that the bartender recommended and we had a great time!

I feel like coming here is deja Voo. Doo you know what that feels like, child? My travel buddy to Toronto is obsessed with coffee. After a bad-ish Hortons experience, we gave Voodoo a try instead. It went fairly well. We didn't get to drink out of the skull cup (they're picky about who they serve it to), but the girl was really nice and helped us pick out some nice cups of imported coffee. I didn't think it was too amazing (a little Starbucksy for my taste, as most of these fancy coffee shops are), but the service is definitely great - from a young girl who didn't know much about coffee but knew a sh** ton about how to treat customers right. Prices not so much, but they have to stay open. Decor is absolutely wonderful, although very hipstery.

I love Voodoo Child! Great spot on College Street with a deco, vibe and layout that reminds me of Grand Electric on Queen with their wall of bourbon bar. The other coffee shop with a penchant for cocktails that comes to mind would be Pamenar on Augusta in the market. Very cool interior that is easy on the eyes rather than the shocking angles and colours of other places where you feel like you're in an office and trying to 'relax' but can't because there's stuff to do just inches away ... There are two-tops along the wall, a sweet comfy bar with the wall of booze to stare at (don't make the mistake of thinking they will serve you at the bar though, so get back to the lineup mister!), and table seating at the front window for some of the best people watching anywhere downtown. Their coffee variety is posted on the wall by the order counter and mugs are available in that spot too. Like many places, drip coffee runs out at noon or so, so Americano's are what you get after that as a substitute. I had a Bunz meetup here where we sat at a 2 top. It was perfect for that with a size that makes it easy to spot your buddy, and a chill vibe where nobody stares at you as you walk in. In fact after Christmas I was hanging out and random-chatting with both customers in the line and the barista in no time, even before sitting down. That's always a sign of greatness in any establishment.

The Voodoo child drink would have to be my favorite espresso beverage that I've had in Toronto! It's essentially a Macchiato with cream instead of milk. Highly recommend. Accepts credit card Close to a streetcar stop

The sole reason I would come to Voodoo Child is to have coffee. Here coffee is taken seriously about their coffee. Different local coffee roasters' beans are featured with tasting notes and origin. So basically your experience each time of their espresso drinks might just be a little different? Voodoo Child ($3.25) a Macchiato made with a dash of cream instead of milk gave the drink a sweeter taste. Oh they do have coffee with booze? Maybe that next time? Bourbon Espresso.... sounds perfect on a cold snowy evening as a night cap. And even a Cocktail maybe?

Really cool place with cool people working there and a nice crowd of people hanging out. The iced americano was amazing I drank it so quick! I wish we ordered the coffee in so we could get those cool skull glasses! It's a great place to just grab a quick coffee and snack! Great concept!

3.5 Stars ... definitely above average and a very unique spot for boozy drinks with coffee. A hipster hang out for sure. On a sunny Saturday, they had the doors and windows open and it allowed the cool breeze to come through. There isnt a lot of seating and every table was taken up with a laptop and a can of cider. Though it's listed as being a coffee place... it definitely has more of a vibe of a hipster bar than a coffee place. Service is funny and relaxed ... very relaxed. Don't come here for good and quick service for coffee... come here if you have time to chill, relax, and drink. The fellow patrons are cool here but hipster is the key word. Another good thing about this place, it's opened late... so that is a huge win to find a place that does good coffee late at night. We ordered a non-typical drink of the Sloane teas but with a latte... the barista/bartender was super friendly and just handling a lot of people by himself. It took some time to get our drink but we werent in too much of a rush. I loved they had Sloane teas available and they took time to steep the teas to develop flavour. I would say they probably used too much tea to almond milk as it was more watery but really loved that they gave us at least 2 tea bags so it gave as much flavour as possible. Overall, chill and cool... probably best if you want to just find a spot to sit and read your emails with a cider in your hand.

    Drip coffee and Cortado
    Kayla K.

Crystal skull... That is what your cortado or latte could come in. Well, it is probably glass but crystal sounds cooler. I am not sure if it alone is worth stopping in for.. maybe for the instagramers. But Voodoo child has a lot more going for it then that.. They're a different kind of coffee shop, in the evening they exchange their caffeine serving for alcohol serving (sometimes ft. live music :)). I feel it is important also to know that past noon they do not sell drip coffee - although you can still order an americano, latte, etc. They have really tasty drip coffee with a low-key morning vibe that I really enjoy... and a good wifi connection...

When you arrive you have the option to sit on the first floor or upstairs on the rooftop bar. I believe this is the only multi-level Cactus Club Cafe I've ever been to. We opted for the rooftop bar which had a high energy, upscale, and stylish vibe to it. We ended up sitting at the bar as it was very crowded. I ordered a frozen Aperol Spritz which was excellent and I could drink a few of these. For food we ordered a burger and fries which was good but nothing to write home about. If you are looking for a late night spot for drinks and food the Cactus Club Cafe is a solid choice.

The place SEEMED quiet but shortly thereafter the place got JAMMED! Initially it was slow service but it picked up shortly. We had several different servers so no single server is tagged here. I will say that it's a hip, nicely equipped restaurant. We decided to do an appie meal. We ordered Sichuan Chicken lettuce wraps ($25.50)..this was the best of the appies. The next was the Crab Dip ($20.75), it was hot but not overly tasty. 3rd was the Hot Chicken Bites with pickles ($16.00). They were ok but not hot in temp enough. The final was the Chili Citrus Calamari ($21.25). This was the worse of the dishes. Simply put, it was cold. The server removed this from our bill. In summary...I wouldn't go out of my way again to go here but given all things being equal, the servers were very good. As a final note...the bathroom was very clean & well maintained.

The food was incredible- one our tastebuds won't forget! Our group of 5 started with fresh sushi and sashimi, table side Caesar salad and the softest brioche served with sun-dried tomato butter that was perfect in every way. Main course: Australian wagyu ribeye that we didn't even have to chew plus a strip loin and beef Wellington (which was maybe the only thing I don't need to order again, but still delicious). All the sides were amazing and finally sticky toffee pudding and butter cake to put us in a complete food coma. Wouldn't change a thing about this meal. We cannot thank you enough Tyler (and Toronto!!)!

I found myself wanting to try most of the cocktails, which is a rarity. We got the Strawberry Tetsu to start (inspired by Uncle Tetsu's Japanese cheesecake), along with the Cloudy Oolong (tea-based cocktail with a salted caramel cheese foam). The Strawberry Tetsu tasted like a dessert and was delicious, with a graham cracker crumble rim. The Cloudy Oolong had a strong tea taste which I loved, as sometimes the tea can get lost in a cocktail. The foam on top was addicting and paired nicely with it, similar to a bubble tea. Next, I had the Burnt Yuzu which was light and refreshing from the citrus. The bar is hidden behind Misfit Ice Cream, with a speakeasy vibe to the interior. Large windows line one wall with a view to the exterior, but are tinted enough that people walking by cannot see in. We walked up to an unassuming entrance that is part of the experience, and once inside, the atmosphere shifts completely. The space is intimate and cozy with dim lighting, comfortable seating, and a relaxed speakeasy vibe that makes it easy to settle in for a couple of drinks. The transition from the street to the interior feels deliberate, and the low-key energy of the room encourages lingering. The cocktail menu leans heavily into Asian-inspired flavors, and that is what makes it stand out. Every drink feels thoughtfully developed rather than relying on presentation alone. We tried the Cloudy Oolong, which was especially memorable with its rich tea flavor and creamy cheese foam that added a savory depth to the cocktail. The Strawberry Tetsu offered a dessert-like profile without becoming overly sweet, balancing fruit and tea notes in a way that felt refined and well composed. Each cocktail arrived beautifully presented and balanced, making it easy to appreciate the amount of care that goes into every glass. The menu is creative without being gimmicky, and the flavors are well integrated, with each drink offering something distinct. The staff were welcoming and happy to explain the menu or offer recommendations if you are unsure what to order. They guided us through the flavor profiles and offered thoughtful suggestions based on our preferences. Service felt attentive without being overbearing, and the overall pace made it a great place to relax rather than rush through a drink. The team checked in at the right moments and kept the experience feeling personal and unhurried. If you are looking for a cocktail bar that offers something different from the usual classics, After Seven delivers a memorable experience. Between the hidden entrance, intimate setting, and creative drinks, it is the kind of place that is easy to recommend whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for one of Toronto's more unique bars. The balance of atmosphere, craftsmanship, and service makes it a standout in the city's cocktail scene.

Located on the 31st floor of the St. Regis Hotel, the restaurant has an incredible atmosphere. The dining room is absolutely stunning with a classy and luxurious feel, but it still feels comfortable and inviting rather than too formal. We started the evening with cocktails before moving into the Summerlicious menu. I ordered the "I Only Drink When I Smoke," which was a great way to start the night. It had a subtle smoky flavour with a touch of sweetness, and the alcohol was not overpowering at all. It was smooth, easy to sip on, and the perfect drink to enjoy while having conversations. For my Summerlicious menu, I started with the Tartare de Boeuf and Caviar. The filet mignon tartare was fresh and really smooth, with a nice balance of rich and savoury flavours. The toasted bread also gave it a nice crunch and paired really well with the tartare. For the main course, I had the Roasted Chateaubriand Filet. When the plate was served, the meat looked really rare as I saw nothing but red on the meat, but it was incredibly tender, making it easy to cut through. It was full of flavour, and the sauce complemented the steak without being too heavy or salty. The vegetables added a nice balance to the dish, and the creamy mashed potatoes were smooth, and definitely one of my favourite parts of the meal. To finish, I had the Mango Passionfruit Cheesecake. It was creamy without feeling too heavy. Though the fruity flavours from the mango passionfruit were a bit tart and sweet for my palate, it still gave an overall refreshing touch. The crust added a nice texture, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the service and pacing of the evening. Each course arrived at the right time, allowing us to enjoy every dish without feeling rushed. The price point is definitely on the higher end, so it is not somewhere I would personally visit for a casual dinner on a regular basis. However, for a special occasion, celebration, or a night where you want to enjoy a beautiful dining experience, I think Louix Louis would be a great choice... and for $75/ person for Summerlicious/ Winterlicious, definitely a great value to sample the chefs' artistry. Overall, it was a memorable evening with an elegant atmosphere, thoughtfully prepared dishes, and great service. I can definitely understand why this spot has become such a popular destination, and I would love to come back again for Winterlicious!

Perched high above the bustle of downtown Toronto, LOUIX LOUIS makes a compelling first impression…read more The dining room is genuinely handsome -- a study in polished Art Deco glamour softened by sweeping city views that lend every table a sense of occasion. On a Valentine's Day brunch visit, the atmosphere alone was enough to justify the reservation. The kitchen demonstrates genuine competence: dishes arrive with care, the pacing is unhurried, and the mise en scène -- from tableside presentation to that now-famous thirteen-layer chocolate cake -- reveals an establishment that understands the theatre of fine dining. That towering slice of chocolate cake, in particular, is a masterstroke of marketing and pastry craft in equal measure; it draws the eye, earns its reputation, and very nearly steals the show. Where LOUIX LOUIS gives one pause is in the cuisine's ability to fully match its surroundings. The cooking is accomplished and reliably pleasant, yet seldom rises to the level of genuine distinction one might hope for at this price point. Dishes satisfy without surprising; technique is evident but inspiration, at moments, feels held in reserve. For the corporate traveller or the visitor seeking a polished, geographically convenient showcase of the city's skyline, this represents an entirely sound choice. For those seeking an experience whose flavours linger as long as the view, the kitchen has room yet to grow into its magnificent stage. Service is attentive and well-intentioned, though it can occasionally want for the depth of knowledge that elevates a good meal into a memorable one. LOUIX LOUIS is, in sum, a very good restaurant striving -- not quite yet arriving -- at greatness. The bones are exceptional; one hopes the culinary vision will, in time, catch up with them.
