Screen of drinks with prices like stock market
    Sofi N.

Just came in for drinks cuz was hyped about visiting this place - was here on weekday lunchtime break from work - coworker and i were excited to check it out. It was as fun as i expected it haha, was giddy. Server was super nice and charming; the place looks fancy and classy. We just had some beers that were on the low stock price hehe. Didnt try the food there. But would love to come back in the future again! I might be easy to excite but the stock market gimmick here works for me and i find it a fun concept, even if at the end of the day i dont think patrons care much for the "savings" they get from buying a drink on its "down" price. It's just a fun concept to bring into a resto. But aside from the gimmick, the place is also very nice!

Amazing cocktails and food. I got a couple of number 34 and they are great, especially at happy hour pricing. Even the food is pretty reasonable for happy hour. We got truffle fries, cauliflower bites and chicken lettuce wraps. We liked the lettuce wraps the best. Really enjoyed our time. It's interesting that their prices fluctuate per demand. But since we were taking advantage of the happy hour, it didn't matter to us.. Our waitress was very pleasant and served us very well. We thoroughly enjoyed our time. So we will return.

Oh this is a funny little place. It has the novelty of utilizing the financial stock market numbers that fluctuate up and down as an algorithm for determining the price of drinks. Really novel idea but do you really want to pay more for what you have been drinking. There is a cap on those prices but even still. The concept is good to look at. Food wise it wasn't bad. Although I had two appetizers the tuna and truffle fries both were very generous in portion. I wasn't expecting that. Next time I would probably order just one. The tuna for me was cut a bit too big for my liking and was lacking in any flavour. The customer service was, how can I put this non existent with the exception of the hostess upon entering. My server seemed a little unhappy because not a single sense of pleasantness came out of her. It was a little off putting. Anyway, it wasn't bad. But there are elements for me that need some work.

This interesting bar had a soft opening on 2023-03-27 and will have a grand opening on 2023-04-28. Drink prices rise and fall based on demand, just like the stock market. In fact there is a stock market ticker running across the top of the bar and on TV screens, indicating current prices. Drinks start at a base price and rise as demand goes up. There are also mocktails (called "counterfeit") and non-alcoholic drinks. The mocktails also go up and down in price. They do serve food, with entrees $26 to $35. Flat breads are $17 to $22, burgers/sandwiches are $17 to $23, while appetizers are $10 to $18. The inside is a combination of cocktail bar (hence the name CKTL) and hugh-end restaurant. The service was great. The food and drink were great. I ordered the following: 1. Mango Mule Counterfeit ($9.00). 2. Roasted Beet Salad ($17.00). 3. Fig Flatbread ($22.00). 4. Grilled Lamb Chops ($35.00). The Mango Mule is a mocktail. There is a rectangular ice cube (the length of the glass). The fresh mango juice is shaken with ice and then strained into the glass. Then ginger beer is added to give it that kick. It is then topped off with shaved raspberry,  fresh mint leaves, and a slice of lime. The Roasted Beet Salad is refreshing. It has gold, red, and striped beets, arugula, goat cheese, radish, pepitas, and lemon turmeric dressing. The combined taste is good. The Fig Flatbread is big be an entree for one person. You can see the sliced fresh fig pieces. There are also charred onions & scallions, mozzarella,  goat cheese, crispy onions, and lemon turmeric drizzle. OK, both dishes above had goat cheese and lemon turmeric drizzle. I guess I have to go back to try a dish that is different. The Grill Lamp Chop was exquisite and highly recommended. It comes with a potato puree, pomegranate jus, and roasted root vegetables. I ordered it cooked "medium" and it came out medium. The lamp Chop itself was tasty, and I found out it was also marinated with the pomegranate jus. At least the lamp chops didn't have goat cheese and lemon tumeric drizzle! There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms, and they are wheelchair accessible. There is very limited neighbourhood street parking and there are parking garages. Review 2023-097

Love the unique concept! The food menu was also very unique compared to other restaurants - the lamb burger was an interesting and tasty try. The cocktails also taste great and have interesting presentations. The black market cocktail cake in a smoking chest, which was very fun The seating was also spatious and not crowded. Service was friendly Definitely recommend for a fun grown up night out

When you arrive you have the option to sit on the first floor or upstairs on the rooftop bar. I believe this is the only multi-level Cactus Club Cafe I've ever been to. We opted for the rooftop bar which had a high energy, upscale, and stylish vibe to it. We ended up sitting at the bar as it was very crowded. I ordered a frozen Aperol Spritz which was excellent and I could drink a few of these. For food we ordered a burger and fries which was good but nothing to write home about. If you are looking for a late night spot for drinks and food the Cactus Club Cafe is a solid choice.

The place SEEMED quiet but shortly thereafter the place got JAMMED! Initially it was slow service but it picked up shortly. We had several different servers so no single server is tagged here. I will say that it's a hip, nicely equipped restaurant. We decided to do an appie meal. We ordered Sichuan Chicken lettuce wraps ($25.50)..this was the best of the appies. The next was the Crab Dip ($20.75), it was hot but not overly tasty. 3rd was the Hot Chicken Bites with pickles ($16.00). They were ok but not hot in temp enough. The final was the Chili Citrus Calamari ($21.25). This was the worse of the dishes. Simply put, it was cold. The server removed this from our bill. In summary...I wouldn't go out of my way again to go here but given all things being equal, the servers were very good. As a final note...the bathroom was very clean & well maintained.

From the vibes to the food, everything was top notch. Tyler took care of our group and made sure that we got an experience rather than just a meal. Upon being seated we got napkins to match our outfits so the white lint didn't get on our black pants , an incredible guava passion fruit cocktail to try and a meat presentation to make sure we all order like pros from here on out. The food was incredible- one our tastebuds won't forget! Our group of 5 started with fresh sushi and sashimi, table side Caesar salad and the softest brioche served with sun-dried tomato butter that was perfect in every way. Main course: Australian wagyu ribeye that we didn't even have to chew plus a strip loin and beef Wellington (which was maybe the only thing I don't need to order again, but still delicious). All the sides were amazing and finally sticky toffee pudding and butter cake to put us in a complete food coma. Wouldn't change a thing about this meal. We cannot thank you enough Tyler (and Toronto!!)!

I found myself wanting to try most of the cocktails, which is a rarity. We got the Strawberry Tetsu to start (inspired by Uncle Tetsu's Japanese cheesecake), along with the Cloudy Oolong (tea-based cocktail with a salted caramel cheese foam). The Strawberry Tetsu tasted like a dessert and was delicious, with a graham cracker crumble rim. The Cloudy Oolong had a strong tea taste which I loved, as sometimes the tea can get lost in a cocktail. The foam on top was addicting and paired nicely with it, similar to a bubble tea. Next, I had the Burnt Yuzu which was light and refreshing from the citrus. The bar is hidden behind Misfit Ice Cream, with a speakeasy vibe to the interior. Large windows line one wall with a view to the exterior, but are tinted enough that people walking by cannot see in. We walked up to an unassuming entrance that is part of the experience, and once inside, the atmosphere shifts completely. The space is intimate and cozy with dim lighting, comfortable seating, and a relaxed speakeasy vibe that makes it easy to settle in for a couple of drinks. The transition from the street to the interior feels deliberate, and the low-key energy of the room encourages lingering. The cocktail menu leans heavily into Asian-inspired flavors, and that is what makes it stand out. Every drink feels thoughtfully developed rather than relying on presentation alone. We tried the Cloudy Oolong, which was especially memorable with its rich tea flavor and creamy cheese foam that added a savory depth to the cocktail. The Strawberry Tetsu offered a dessert-like profile without becoming overly sweet, balancing fruit and tea notes in a way that felt refined and well composed. Each cocktail arrived beautifully presented and balanced, making it easy to appreciate the amount of care that goes into every glass. The menu is creative without being gimmicky, and the flavors are well integrated, with each drink offering something distinct. The staff were welcoming and happy to explain the menu or offer recommendations if you are unsure what to order. They guided us through the flavor profiles and offered thoughtful suggestions based on our preferences. Service felt attentive without being overbearing, and the overall pace made it a great place to relax rather than rush through a drink. The team checked in at the right moments and kept the experience feeling personal and unhurried. If you are looking for a cocktail bar that offers something different from the usual classics, After Seven delivers a memorable experience. Between the hidden entrance, intimate setting, and creative drinks, it is the kind of place that is easy to recommend whether you are celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for one of Toronto's more unique bars. The balance of atmosphere, craftsmanship, and service makes it a standout in the city's cocktail scene.

Located on the 31st floor of the St. Regis Hotel, the restaurant has an incredible atmosphere. The dining room is absolutely stunning with a classy and luxurious feel, but it still feels comfortable and inviting rather than too formal. We started the evening with cocktails before moving into the Summerlicious menu. I ordered the "I Only Drink When I Smoke," which was a great way to start the night. It had a subtle smoky flavour with a touch of sweetness, and the alcohol was not overpowering at all. It was smooth, easy to sip on, and the perfect drink to enjoy while having conversations. For my Summerlicious menu, I started with the Tartare de Boeuf and Caviar. The filet mignon tartare was fresh and really smooth, with a nice balance of rich and savoury flavours. The toasted bread also gave it a nice crunch and paired really well with the tartare. For the main course, I had the Roasted Chateaubriand Filet. When the plate was served, the meat looked really rare as I saw nothing but red on the meat, but it was incredibly tender, making it easy to cut through. It was full of flavour, and the sauce complemented the steak without being too heavy or salty. The vegetables added a nice balance to the dish, and the creamy mashed potatoes were smooth, and definitely one of my favourite parts of the meal. To finish, I had the Mango Passionfruit Cheesecake. It was creamy without feeling too heavy. Though the fruity flavours from the mango passionfruit were a bit tart and sweet for my palate, it still gave an overall refreshing touch. The crust added a nice texture, and it was the perfect ending to the meal. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the service and pacing of the evening. Each course arrived at the right time, allowing us to enjoy every dish without feeling rushed. The price point is definitely on the higher end, so it is not somewhere I would personally visit for a casual dinner on a regular basis. However, for a special occasion, celebration, or a night where you want to enjoy a beautiful dining experience, I think Louix Louis would be a great choice... and for $75/ person for Summerlicious/ Winterlicious, definitely a great value to sample the chefs' artistry. Overall, it was a memorable evening with an elegant atmosphere, thoughtfully prepared dishes, and great service. I can definitely understand why this spot has become such a popular destination, and I would love to come back again for Winterlicious!

Perched high above the bustle of downtown Toronto, LOUIX LOUIS makes a compelling first impression…read more The dining room is genuinely handsome -- a study in polished Art Deco glamour softened by sweeping city views that lend every table a sense of occasion. On a Valentine's Day brunch visit, the atmosphere alone was enough to justify the reservation. The kitchen demonstrates genuine competence: dishes arrive with care, the pacing is unhurried, and the mise en scène -- from tableside presentation to that now-famous thirteen-layer chocolate cake -- reveals an establishment that understands the theatre of fine dining. That towering slice of chocolate cake, in particular, is a masterstroke of marketing and pastry craft in equal measure; it draws the eye, earns its reputation, and very nearly steals the show. Where LOUIX LOUIS gives one pause is in the cuisine's ability to fully match its surroundings. The cooking is accomplished and reliably pleasant, yet seldom rises to the level of genuine distinction one might hope for at this price point. Dishes satisfy without surprising; technique is evident but inspiration, at moments, feels held in reserve. For the corporate traveller or the visitor seeking a polished, geographically convenient showcase of the city's skyline, this represents an entirely sound choice. For those seeking an experience whose flavours linger as long as the view, the kitchen has room yet to grow into its magnificent stage. Service is attentive and well-intentioned, though it can occasionally want for the depth of knowledge that elevates a good meal into a memorable one. LOUIX LOUIS is, in sum, a very good restaurant striving -- not quite yet arriving -- at greatness. The bones are exceptional; one hopes the culinary vision will, in time, catch up with them.
