Extremely slow and inefficient staff causing long wait and long line. I don't understand why they could be that slow. It's ridiculous

The shop is pretty neat to go and hang out downtown. The donut themes and menu are cool but don't go expecting to get blown away. The donut itself lacks flavor. The focus is the sugar and glaze but not the donut itself. it's only used as a vessel to spread the sugar goop on it. Take the big kids here and go to Panaderia. read more

Great donuts and love the variety! Quick and efficient service when I was there. Keep in mind that parking is limited so they offer curbside pickup. Voodoo donuts are really good, really creative, and just unique. You need to try it at least once. I'm from Portland and have been by it many times but was working in San Antonio this week and decided to try them. They're a nice pull apart texture that you can tell is good quality and isn't super heavy. A lot different from Krispy Kreme which are also good but just unique. read more

I was feeling spontaneous one night and ordered delivery from Voodoo because there wasn't a quota for the amount of items ordered. I ordered an apple fritter and passionfruit cheesecake doughnut. The passionfruit was stale and only 6 small dollops of flavor were placed on the surface. I was shocked that there was no filling. Let me just say that I've been to the one in Portland Oregon and I believe that one is much better. It just had a completely different feel. The donuts were alright, the best one was the banana cream one. There is not much seating inside (only tall tables) and the patio had seating but it was really humid the day we visited. Right outside smelled pretty bad, kind of like urine. The donuts were really rich and of course were pricey; definitely would recommend the Voodoo Dozen because of the variety and price point. read more

The staff was very friendly and helpful on my first visit when I needed something to eat at 9am and my hotels food was a disgrace. The size of the doughnuts, variety, and prices were great. No the lines are to long we went the other evening and the lines were so long they said it would be a two and a half hour wait.

I placed a Grubhub order for the random dozen. Order was almost $40 after all Grubhub fees, despite free delivery. Order arrived late and took over an hour even though the delivery destination is just over a 5 minute drive from Voodoo Doughnut. Person staffing the cash register seemed annoyed to answer any questions we had, and annoyed with other customers ordering as well. A man who spoke Spanish went up to ask a question and she just walked away. You have to ask for the code to use a bathroom from the same staff at the counter and Im sorry but if you are selling coffee and sweets everybody is going to need to use it so the code should be printed on the receipts or something at least. And this is one of the only donut shops that wont even provide a small tap water or ice it is only overpriced bottled waters which adds to the amount of trash this city produces. Were the donuts amazing and worth it? No, they tasted like every other gourmet/craft donut from overhyped hipster places like Portland and Austin. For a great donut, I suggest Duck donuts locally or Stans in Los Angeles or Chicago. read more

We ordered 12 donuts and they added two more for free. The maple bacon bar and apple fritters were excellent. The sprinkled donut was also very good. The Marshall matters was ok, but weirdly we thought it had too many m&m's to really enjoy. That is not a statement I make lightly. My least favorite was the maple old fashioned. Still ok, but not worth going back for. We will likely be hitting them up again soon so we can try the other interesting flavors. read more

Voodoo is a reliable tasty treat, whether 10am or 10pm! I got the homer and it was fluffy, sweet, and delicious. Half the fun of voodoo is the decor and seeing all the donuts in the rotating case. My son and I ( just turned 1 that weekend) went to Texas since daddy is in school ( military). We didn't want him to miss the babys first birthday so we took a trip from Los Angeles to San Antonio. My sister had brought me voodoo donuts before from LA I wasn't a fan of it. We stayed at the Emily Morgan hotel and I seen a lady walking with a pink box and it said voodoo donuts. I was looking for a little snacky snack for my 1 year old for breakfast. I'm like fine I'll go see the place for myself and get a donut. It was literally like only 2 blocks away. We get there and were immediately greeted by the happy staff (the must really like their job how happy they were haha) and the customers in line were also so nice to my baby! :) we got to the register I ordered a donut and a coffee and I was looking for something eh small for the little one. She showed me the smaller donut and gave it to my sweet boy for his birthday donut! She was so nice and interacted with my little one. It was really sweet! He was so happy over one small little donut and she made him laugh and smile. As a parent, we know not a lot of people like kids, but they way she was so gentle and communicative with her warmed my heart especially when I seen the smile on his face after he got his donut! Btw 10/10 the donuts were amazing! I wish I would have gotten the young ladies name. She had red hair! Super sweet girl! read more

1.5 hour wait in line as employees were going off shift and leaving one cashier to pick, pack & cash out every order. Also, all delivery services like Uber Eats and Door Dash received priority over all in store customers that we're waiting. There were plenty of employees prepping and making fresh donuts but they should have thought about trying to sell what they had on the racks first! This was an epic nightmare for the manager. Poor operational planning for such an iconic novelty donut. Adios Voodoo! read more
