Bakery Lorraine is the kind of place that instantly puts you in a good mood. The space feels bright, warm, and full of that French-inspired charm that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. Their pastry cases are stunning--croissants with the perfect flaky crackle, colorful macarons that taste as good as they look, and seasonal pies and tarts that genuinely feel handcrafted with care. Paired with a smooth coffee, it's the perfect start to any day.

Grabbed a quick breakfast item of a raspberry chocolate muffin. I know not the healthiest breakfast but sometimes you have to go off the rails and enjoy your cravings The cashier was friendly and fast. She also heated my muffin which made it more yummy. Bakery Lorraine is in the heart of the San Antonio Pearl District, When we lived at the B Pearl we frequented Bakery Lorraine frequently. While the Pearl can be quite busy, Bakery Lorraine is chill.

I went into this bakery because it looked beautiful and it was packed. However, my café was not so great especially for five dollars. But the cookies we got were very good so I think it just depends on what you want. All the staff was super friendly and nice and the restaurant was very clean and nice ambiance. Just know they have a sign that says that they're not fast food. They make everything fresh so yes, you're gonna wait a while even for to-go coffee

13 Dec 2024 Went in today after we ate dinner at Best Quality Daughter. Yeah I know, we're pigs. Not really. We took our pastries home. We took with us an almond croissant , cinnamon roll and a triple ginger cookie. The server asked us if we would like some free slightly cracked items. Sure! We ended up with a small sack of various macarons!! For free! What damage? Thanks. Go there.

Bakery Lorraine is a really cute bakery in one of my favorite places in San Antonio, and the staff is so friendly. Their pastries are always beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. Their pistachio macarons are some of the best around. I was a little disappointed today when one of the macaron I ordered was hard & stale. The flavor on all of them was good though. We'll definitely be back because they're usually

Cute French bakery in the Pearl district of restaurants and shops. They have so much good stuff to eat here ! Hard to pick one thing. I took my sweet time finding what I wanted and loved looking at all they had to offer. Great indoor seating also outside available. Lots of people working here , yes this laptop people! It's pretty noisy in here too. You order at the counter and then they bring to your table. I got the pain au chocolat with a cappuccino which I asked for in a real mug since they said they have them. My friend had the latte and an almond croissant. It took awhile for it to come out but they were busy I guess. My cappuccino came in a paper cup though so I told the sever I had asked for a mug. They took it back and poured into a mug so I lost the pretty design . Oh well. The croissant was delicious, flaky and nice thick layer of chocolate inside the layers. Plus even better warmed up. My friend enjoyed her croissant too. Very flaky with lots of almonds on top and inside. All the sweet stuff and some savory offerings too. Sandwiches and breakfast items. Great location and nice and clean. Always happy with a good pastry.

I found the Bakery Lorraine while I was killing time in the Pearl district. I was already caffeinated from enjoying one of the nearby cafés, but decided to grab a snack. I tried the cheesecake which was really interesting. For the most part I enjoyed the slice, but it did taste a little stale. If I went back, I'd probably try something else. Overall, it was very busy, but things seem to move for other fast. Service was fast and friendly and they had good wifi access.

Their stunning pastry display make it hard to choose, but the S'mores Tart stole the show. With rich chocolate ganache, gooey toasted marshmallow, and a buttery graham cracker crust, it's a gourmet twist on a childhood favorite. I'll definitely be back to try more.

First time to the pearl district and this place looks like a hit! We waited in line for a bit but then decided to order outside from the walk up window. We were only ordering drinks as we had just purchased pastries from the market nearby. We were not in a rush so we had the luxury of taking it all in as we waited for our iced brown sugar lattes. I would say the lattes were less memorable than the ambiance and abundant inside and outside seating. I wish I had tried a breakfast plate, everything looked well throughout and fresh. Next time I am in San Antonio I will be coming back!

My friends and I came here after dinner around 7, they close at 8. There were only macarons left, so at first we thought about going somewhere else. But they had so many fun flavors that we decided to try a small box, and they were actually so good. I don't usually like macarons, but I'd totally get these again. Only downside was that after we ordered, they kind of forgot about us and started helping other people instead. We had to remind them we didn't get our box yet, and then they put it together pretty quickly.

Ask the Community - Bakery Lorraine

    Do they have wifi?

    Yes

Do they serve potatoes? I don't see that on the menu but see them in pictures.

Several of the menu items come with potatoes. I don't know if they're listed a la carte, but I'm sure the staff would honor the request.

Does this location offer any low carb options?

Salads would be the best low carb option. They don't specialize on baked goods that are low carbs. Their pastries are delicious.

Do they sing happy birthday to birthday guests?

No, I've never seen this happen

It's the kind of place folks drift into and, before long, start calling their own. The people there carry themselves with quiet pride--no fuss, no show--just a steady hand at their work and a genuine welcome for whoever steps through the door. The menu ain't thrown together. It's been shaped with care, like a well-tuned string on a guitarra, each choice meant to stand on its own but better still when taken together. The flavors come through bold and honest, with a little flourish here and there--nothing overdone, just enough to remind you somebody back there knows what they're about. It's a small spot, sure, but that only draws folks closer. Feels a bit like gathering under a shaded porch after a long day--easy talk, shared laughter, and the sense you're among friends, whether you've known 'em years or just met 'em. Every greeting carries the warmth of old ties, like you've been welcomed back rather than simply let in. And the food--well, it doesn't hold back. Each bite's got a richness that settles in and makes you slow down, take notice, and then go back for more. It's the kind of meal that stays with you, the way a good story does. Spend a little time there with friends, and you'll come away knowing you've found something true--a place where the spirit of San Antonio, with its charro heart and neighborly ways, lives on in every plate set down and every hand extended in welcome.

So, when co-workers wanted to go yesterday, I jumped on it. Don't get me wrong. I love the vibe of this place. I LOVE their story. It's very NY/Northeastern deli feel (they're from Pittsburgh, but you get my drift, right!?). No nonsense. Small inside area. No tables inside. Just enough room to look at the menu, order, and go wait outside. I opted for the chicken bacon ranch on hoagie. What came out was a decent size sandwich, but incredibly messy and soggy. There was so much juice/ liquid the sandwich quickly became unmanageable and just disintegrated. Look, if you're going to serve a sandwich that messy, please upgrade your napkins. It was a one bite - two napkin ratio. The sandwich was good, but the mess and difficulty eating it just took away any enjoyment. Additionally, the flies outside rivaled the worst I've experienced. Do you remember the scene in the Lost World, Jurassic Park movie when the hunters found the Rex nest!? Okay, okay, maybe not that bad, but it was a lot. Hang some fly bags or strips or somethin'. Found price to be a little high. By the time I bought chips and a drink, plus tip: $22. Just FYI: my co-worker disagrees. He thought it was the BEST SANDWICH HE'D EVER HAD. So, yes, go give them a try, but bring a beach towel for clean up.

I was able to make my way here on my last day in San Antonio in late March thanks to my flight being delayed and my oh my, I am quite impressed! The older gentleman taking my order at the counter gave me a big smile when I mentioned I heard you have this thing called the serious sandwich here. He told me that they do and then stated "You won't regret ordering it, seriously." Chuckling, I decided on a half order of that along with a side of potato salad and their side of beans. After taking my first bite, I realized the gentleman was right. This is a dope sandwich! Excellent cured meats in the salamar and pair of hams along with the provolone and melted cheddar with the veggies, spices, italian dressing, and mustard. The bread they use holds up well and has a slight crunch to it. If you prefer your bread to have softness to it, you may have to ask if they can substitute a different bread instead of the italian flat bread they use. But I absolutely love this sandwich the way it is! As for the sides, the potato salad has a slight mustard taste and right consistency with a dash of paprika on top; just the way I like it. The beans are charro beans (I think) that are served steaming hot with some pork trimmings mixed in; I may have dipped my sandwich in it a couple times for flavor explosion. What can I say, I'm adventurous! There's some ferrari memorabilia and posters on the right side where some of the high top seating is. As a Ferrari F1 fan, I appreciate them displaying this here along with the track map of the COTA circuit in Austin. The seating area is spread out nicely with plenty of seats/tables and a drink station with some random signs up. All of interest to consumers like us. Definitely recommend coming here for either the serious sandwich or other delicious ones like their meatball sandwich or manhattan. I can't wait to come back and try the other ones but I may just stick with the serious sandwich cause I loved it. SERIOUSLY!
