We're not blown away. For Valentine's Day, I got my wife, Gale, Vosges Chocolates. It was expensive, AS. I don't recall what I paid, but it was more than I've ever paid for chocolate. With shipping, I paid $75 for 16 chocolates. It was good chocolate, but not that good. There were varietals, herds, and fruit flavors, but we mostly tasted chocolate. The guide about the flavors was useless because they basically tasted the same. We're not connoisseurs, but we love chocolate and have a piece almost every night. Our favorite to date is probably Harry & David's, which is also pricey, but we've gotten some good buys at Costco. There are some others, more affordable ones, that are nice. I'd have to say we were majorly disappointed in Vosges, considering the price. read more

Stopped in at their elegant HQ store to purchase some chocolates for my parents anniversary. I had tried their chocolates before and I was really impressed in the quality. The lady who was there was very kind. She was helpful helping me select a few items as well as finding the items I had seen prior online. I think I've been buying these truffles at Christmas since about 2006 starting at the Armitage Avenue shop that used to sell out every year! Fast forward *17* years and that shop is closed but they've moved to a retail shop/production & packing facility on Oakley just off Clybourne in Roscoe Village. Walking in.. it's upscale just like the old shop with all their offerings showcased on wooden tables & shelves with great lighting. Couple rooms of retail space next to the registers flanked by the order fullfillment/office area... very nicely done! Truffles are what they do and they do them well.. some of the best they said. Very innovative creations & ingredients are sourced Worldwide. Any girl I've ever given them to as a gift always remark:: "These are my favorite chocolates"! They offer a 16 piece of milk or dark chocolate or a 32 piece box as well as many other chocolate creations. They usually do a holiday box with Dalmore Scotch which always sells out quickly! They used to do a Greatful Dead box that was out of this World but was discontinued this year due to a cancellation of partnership they said. I would say order early and pick up here as they tend to sell out of the good stuff if you know what I mean! Excellent chocolate and the packaging is superb. I ordered 3 very expensive Advent calendars and after they didn't show up after 2 days, Vosges resent them, no questions asked. I cannot recommend them enough!!! This is my totally overdue review and thanks to Vosges. I say it's overdue because I started going to Vosges decades ago and this is my first review. Their staff are always wonderful and helpful, when I shop in the retail store or call with questions. I am foreign born with occasional English proficiency. They are always helpful and help me find the best chocolate gifts. I once ran into Katrina, the company founder, at the retail store and she was truly amazing. I was there to buy chocolates to bring to a gathering for domestic violence victims and volunteers that day. Katrina contributed to my purchase and I could not be more grateful. Katrina was my champion with her generosity and compassion, and passion for her business. Katrina, your staff had long told me that I should look forward to meeting you in person, and you were truly nicer than I could have hoped for. Thank you. Sorry for my long review. Some staff that I wanted to mention are Gigi, who has helped me when I called the HQ with questions, and some other staff who helped me in the retail store, Koba, Bobby, and Daisy - whom I originally met in the NYC Soho store many, many years ago. I'm a longtime customer and have never been disappointed by Vosges products or customer service. While I've had great chocolate at other shops I've yet to find a chocolate shop in the US that really blows Vosges out of the water in both product and service. Tried organizing a group tour if the factory and my business isnt good enough for Vosges. Back in November I was told they were too busy planning for Christmas to work with me - understandable. After several emails that went unanswered in January, I'm told that now they are too busy for Valentines Day. I guess I'll just wait until they have time to deal with me. Loved my visit to this little shop! Before I chose my box of chocolates I sampled some little bites they had out. It was so nice to get a sense of different flavors. I asked the gentleman there about the flavor of the week. He told me about it then gave me a sample! A delightful lemony treat. Then I gushed about how much I loved lemon and he gave me a taste of a lemon flavor bar they make...also delightful! We came strictly for desserts, and thought it lived up to its reputation for desserts. They are fancy and tasty. They are a bit pricy for dessert ($12+ each), but you get pretty big portions, so you don't feel ripped off by any means.
