I really enjoy going to this place for lunch/dinner. I haven't tried many of their menu items because to be honest, I'm not sure how good they are and I'm already a big fan of their avogelemo (lemon soup) and Greek salad with chicken. I work at a very nice Greek restaurant and their take on this traditional Greek soup absolutely blows the place I work at's version out of the water. I've been on a serious gyro kick lately, having it damn near 3-4 times this past week. Thank the great greek gods this place is in a 5-mile radius of my house because they have awesomely good gyros and not to mention the authentic greek grub they offer. Located along a strip mall in the Wal-Mart shoppping center Voulapitta has been here for at least 10 yrs+. In the years that I've been coming to this place not once have I left here dissatisfied with the service or their food. Amazingly fresh and consistent with every item they turn out. It's a pretty limited menu, but that just goes to show you that they concentrate on the quality of great grub being made. Some of the things they offer; great and always piping hot soups (you can have it in the bread bowl if you want) fresh greek salads topped with your choice of marinated grilled chicken or gyro meat with tomato, onions, olives, dolma, pepperoncini peppers, and feta on a bed of lettuce with a red wine vinaigrette, falafels, moussaka, pastichio, meat kebabs, and of course their omnipresent GYROS!!!! OMG i'm drooling just thinking about it rite now, you'd seriously think that Zeus himself came down from the heavens and whipped this grub up for you. PLEASE GO NOW!! read more

The food that I got here was pretty good. I have eaten here at least a half dozen times and tried a good variety of their menu. But the reason why I gave them 1 star is as follows. Unfortunately of the times; I have gotten sick from the food twice. I have a steel stomach and I usually never get sick. This place seems to set it off for some reason. One time I got a regular gyro and another time I got a lamb souvlaki. The Gyro tasted great going down but the next day I was feeling it... The same with the lamb souvlaki. I gave it another round tried the food and next day was done for the day. 2 dishes 2 weeks no good. It definitely was not anything else because I literally do not get sick off of anything. I know correlation does not prove causation but I NEVER get sick off of food. This is the first time it has happened with the same place twice in a row. Anyways. The place looks shady to begin with. It looked like an old Chinese restaurant that they used to make Greek. Not that I care what the place looks like. It is just that your front door is what gives you a first impression on how clean the place is and what service you are going to give me. To me you are going to give my dirty outdated 80's food service. The Gyro I got was pretty good. Standard. The tzatziki sauce was pretty good. Their vegetables tasted like it was sitting for a while. Every time I try this place this is the case so I don't doubt that they reuse their vegetables on a day to day basis. Whether it is for weeks or for days I am not sure but definitely days at minimum especially how mushy my tomatoes tasted. The meat in the gyro was no surprise it was pretty good. Now the Lamb Souvlaki that I had was not good. Lamb is not one thing and that is for sure, flavorless. This thing was paper. Their chicken was alright. Nothing special. Close to flavorless but it is chicken... It tasted like... Chicken? lol Don't get me wrong. I want to support more local joints like this. But this is ridiculous. I pay $8-$14 dollars per plate I expect some form of quality. If not quality at least quantity... None of which was received... Please leave out the stomach virus as well. I walked out. Couldn't deal with the idiocy. Our party of 3 walked in and asked if we could sit anywhere since it looked like counter service. With attitude the counter worked said we had to order with him. We took menus to the table anyway to decide. Menu is very confusing. They even spelled hummus 2 different ways. Their platters claim to come with salad, rice or fries, andddd a sandwich of choice. I went to the counter to confirm because why would a meal come with a side sandwich? He confirmed a few times that a sandwich came with the platter. I order but the worker kept asking about my separate sandwich! There was another worker behind him staring so I asked him to explain my order and the menu to the other guy. He stayed silent; staring. I gave up. Told them I'd rather starve. I wasn't going to order, have it come out wrong or be over charged and I definitely wasn't going to risk spit in my food. I would have emailed the food establishment itself but they don't have an email on their website. Now I trust even less. Step up your game Voulapitta!!! read more

I have to say, this used to be one of my FAVORITE spots to meet up with friends and eat over some great food. Lately, my past few experiences there have been a little disappointing. I'm always one to order the Gyro Platter, but the past few times the meat hasn't tasted the same, and seems to be cold, and the rice got a totally different flavor than what it used to be. We just moved back to this area and decided to give this place a try. I placed a to go order for a chicken souvlaki dinner with rice and a small Greek salad. I asked my husband to pick it up on his way home from work and I left it under my 1st name which is Amy. When he arrived at home in the bag was two gyro sandwiches and a small Greek salad. I immediately called the restaurant and the young lady who answered the phone told me that there were 2 orders placed with the same name honest mistake right? No problem. So I tell her that he is going to come back with the food to get our actual order. The young lady on the phone told me that the other woman had already returned and they had made her a new order so we were welcome to KEEP the food. Either way when my husband returned to the restaurant not only did they hand him a very wilted and clearly had been sitting there, quite possibly could have been the one the other Amy returned but I digress, Made my husband PAY AGAIN FOR OUR ACTUAL ORDER and when he asked why was told, "Well you took the other one" I will NEVER patronize this place again!!! I used to go here all the time. I haven't been there in about 6-7 months. I was near their location and was in the mood for a giant "Greek" Salad. My wife and I ordered the Lg Greek Gyro Platter. I also ordered the falafel platter as well as another large Greek salad to go. When I got home and opened the bags with the food in them I was so disappointed. Everything was ice cold. (I live just about 10 minutes away) like it had never been cooked at all. The "Greek Salad" had 5lbs of iceberg lettuce chopped into little pieces. 2 quarters of a tomato, no red onion, 2 small pieces of cucumber. 2 olives and a very small scoop of feta cheese granules and nothing else. This cost over $15.00. The Greek Salad Only was exactly the same way. 5lbs of lettuce with nothing else. The falafel was drenched in oil and was bitter and cold. As far as we're concerned this place gets what we call the big red X. BTW it does look like it might be under new ownership as the family that I knew that owned it was nowhere to be found. The girl at the register barely understood English and I had to repeat my order off the menu three times for her to get my choices right. a cockroach infestation, ant infestation, and mostly every ingredient and food they use is pre-made or out of a can! A disgusting place. Most of the meats are from the freezer and have freezer burn. By far the best Greek place I have been to. My boyfriend and I always compare other Greek places to Voulapitta and though some may close, nothing is as ever as good. The chicken gyro and lamb souvlaki are seasoned perfectly. Not too salty like some Greek places. I also love that they have whole wheat pitas for the more health conscious folks, like myself. Their salad dressing is also one of my favorite dressings I've ever had. Very light and flavorful. They sell it too if you just want to buy that for independent use. Their rice pilaf is also very tasty and always tastes fresh. Their decor could use a little updating and their prices are a bit steep but to me, it's well worth the price! read more

Very good food amidst a vacuum of good restaurants. Gyro platters are always hot and fresh. Service is good and take-out wait times are reasonable. Believe it or not, the food here is not terribly greasy. Greek isn't my favorite cuisine, but I like Voulapitta. read more

My family and I have been visiting Voulapitta for about 15 years. The food is very tasty and always fresh. Their salad dressing is also one of my favorite dressings I've ever had. This place purports to have authentic Greek/Mediterranean food, yet they don't have chicken shish kebabs? They have chicken every other way except this. When I asked for it, you'd have thought I asked for monkey brains or quail or buffalo meat based on their reaction. I just don't understand. It's not like you don't sell chicken. Pretty sure real chicken souvlaki starts out on kebabs anyways. If it wasn't for my wife, I wouldn't have come back. The portions just don't line up with the price. Hit up your local diner.
