I moved to MV nearly two years ago and struggled to find a stylist all this time that was closer to me since my last one moved. I called super last minute after checking out Yelp, and Tex was able to get me in. I realized once I left that the salon closes at 5PM, and he was generous enough to stay a little after on Mother's Day and do my hair for me. He's super friendly, and really knows what he's doing. It's easy to communicate what I want, and he delivered! I only wanted a trim and to clean up my hair a bit, and he was able to keep the length there. I often struggle to find a stylist who knows how to cut textured hair, but he did amazing. Definitely becoming a regular here! read more

Came in SUPER last minute and they were able to get me in! I am EXTREMELY picky with haircuts (especially when I'm going shorter) so I was a little scared even with the good reviews this salon has but them reviews did NOT disappoint!! I live about a hour from here but I will definitely be coming here from now on, it's definitely 100% worth the drive. The person who did my hair was really laid back, which is always good. She shampooed, layered, and styled my hair in like 30 minutes. Super fast and efficient; she knows what she is doing. Usually I freak out and will tell the person that they need to do whatever else but I didn't have to tell her anything. She looked at the picture of the hairstyle I wanted for MAX 15 seconds and executed it with a single problem. Tex is incredible! I came in with box dyed dark brown hair over my natural blonde and he was able to get me safely to a blonde without damaging my hair. My hair actually feels 10x better than what I came in with! He gave me a clear plan to get back to my natural color too and recommended great products to keep my hair healthy. I had been going to Vpaul'a for three years. But the most recent experience was so bad that it will be the last one. Before the last visit, there were always wash, careful cut and blow dry. But this time they skipped the wash and spent only total around 10 min on my haircut and blow dry. The haircut looked terrible!! They still charged me the same price $40 and only accepted cash! Tex is an amazing hair stylist. You can see that most of his clients are repeat customers and love coming back. Tex gave me good advice about a couple different baby light options that I wanted to go with. So we decided with caramel babylights for my skin care and face. My only gripe about this place is they don't take credit cards. I wish they do or even Venmo. For a trim is ok. The only perk for a 35 dollar trim is a shampoo and blow dry. But I really do wish they take credit card or Venmo or PayPal. read more

Had such a great experience getting a haircut by Victoria. Although busy with appointments she was able to squeeze me in for a quick trim. Not only was she nice, she was so accommodating with my baby. I'm a new mom and was in need of a haircut so it was nice to be able to nurse my baby while getting a haircut. I went to this salon on a whim due to good yelp reviews. And they were right! Tex welcomed me right away and made me feel important. He knew exactly what my hair needed. I dyed my hair from blonde to black and missed my blonde. After many failed at home bleach sessions, I needed a real professional. He made sure my hair regained health. The hot oil treatments are life changing by the way. Anyway, I've never left a salon loving my hair that I literally took a picture in the car and left smiling all the way home. Great conversations too. Fun place to go. They offer many services. I'll be coming back to touch up my highlights and probably just spend the whole day getting relaxed and feeling beautiful. Also check out the 25 year old fish they have in a huge gorgeous fish tank with some of the fish's friends. You know a place is good when they like animals. Props! See you soon Tex! read more

Great salon, loved the staff very welcoming. I got my hair done and even though my old bleached highlights were super dark they still managed to make my hair look good with the highlight color i wanted. the owner gave me a free boba drink from his other shop a few stores down while i waited for the bleach to sink in. the salon is also very clean with an accesible washroom. read more

I've been going to Tex for over 20 years from when my hair was waist-length to now 4 years past Chemotherapy. Now I'm 58, but I'm told my hair looks much younger. I've moved 3,000 miles away, but still come back to Tex for my haircuts and highlighting. He's a magician with color making it look natural and well-conditioned. I've seen men & women of all ages/styles, and they always come out looking great! He gets quite busy, so I'd say be sure to make an appointment and even then be patient, as he overlaps customers needing haircuts while your color is setting. Maybe grab a boba tea from his new business next door. Definitely worth the wait and the trip. I also love his invigorating scalp massage. His prices are very reasonable too. This last trip in May everyone said, "Wow, your hair looks great!" When I was last there in December, I only got a trim--no color, and nobody said that. So if he recommends highlights to cover the gray, do it! read more

the owner helped me before and i was happy with it, so i came back then i asked for a trim and he immediately snipped off the long part of my asymmetrical A-line without even hesitating, before i could even notice.. i can tell he was stressed and pressed on time because there was a customer waiting for him as he was behind schedule. he had to cut the back shorter and i kept saying i don't like my hair too short but he kept cutting saying he can "fix it"... i feel extra sad about this because i'm going to an event next week and i'm just super not happy with my hair.. please if you see this, don't rush when you cut your customer's hair. please be honest and tell your customers if you don't have time. this was really important to me and i trusted your team. read more

Still emotionally processing the decision to come here and have almost 3 years of diligently grown out virgin dirty-blonde hair to get a balayage done to have my hair essentially mutilated here... essentially no blending at the top with chunks and patches... I am so mad at myself for not waiting for a more experienced professional to have it done and now I will have to pay $400-500 to have someone very experienced to fix where the blonde starts at the top unblended and patchy splotches, but I don't even know if it's fixable. I paid them $320 and it looks like I had a 13-year-old do it in my bathroom. It was curled when it was done so I could not see how bad it was immediately but they clearly would have been able to see it before they curled my hair and they didn't say anything. I wish they would have told me that this person was completely inexperienced yet they said she could do balayage/highlights/baby lights, and was clearly just winging it... I'm very sad and upset and angry, at myself and them.... Ugh :( Just really disappointed in myself more than anything... I learned a lesson that if someone has an appointment the next day to do bleach, it probably means they don't have any experience. I probably should've known better but the guy running it sounded so confident... I'm writing this review because it's one thing to accidentally mess up a little spot, It's a whole other thing to pretend that someone has the experience to do some thing and clearly they do not. I even told them how long I had been growing out my hair to do this. I'm Just... sad :( read more

We had a great conversation during my cut. Unrelated to hair, I love that she uses reusable towels instead of paper towels in the bathroom, which is good for the environment. We visited VPaula about a month back when my husband, son and I got our hair styled. My husband and son are pretty picky about their haircut, but all their requirements were fulfilled. I got my hair styled (deep-layers) and colored (dark brown for the first time). I was pretty happy with the layers (I have had many bad experiences in other places in the past 10 years), and the color turned out pretty good too. This place is good for MALE hair cuts for MEN. For women, it depends on who you get. I would NOT recommend Victoria for coloring. I feel bad because she is incredibly nice, but I cannot base my review on her personality. I came out looking like a carrot. She charged me $95, which makes sense since I have long hair that goes about down to my bra at the longest part. I was excited to find a great salon so quickly after moving here. I made another appointment with Lily for August 21, but she had to cancel due to travel and suggested I get my hair cut by Anh-Xuan instead. I was hesitant to switch, but my hair has been getting really thin and stringy from hard water, so I really needed the cut. On my booking confirmation, it said the haircut would be $85. My hair was the same length that it was when I got my first cut with Lily. The cut was fine, not as good as with Lily, but good enough. When it came time to pay, she went straight to the tipping screen, and I chose 18%. I was shocked to see the total bill come to $140, but I thought maybe I'd forgotten how much it cost last time. As I walked to my car, I double checked my booking and email receipt. The booking still said $85. The receipt said she charged me $120, plus tip. I went back and checked my email receipt from my first haircut there, and it confirmed that one was $95 plus tip. I walked back into the salon thinking it must be a mistake. I showed Anh-Xuan the booking confirmation that showed $85 and said $120 seemed like a mistake. "$85 and up," she responded. I've never heard of a $35 upcharge for long hair without any written indication. Their website as of today still said $85. The receipt had a feedback button, so I left feedback with screenshots proving all of this and suggesting they make their pricing more transparent. I thought that would be the end of it, and maybe I'd get a partial refund, but no. Instead I get a TEXT MESSAGE to my personal phone number from Anh-Xuan claiming the changed prices in 2026 (two days after my last appointment, supposedly). She said these are the new prices, and it would be the same with Lily as well. I responded saying this was a really large discrepancy, and that if they changed their prices, it should be reflected somewhere on the booking and website. She then went on to blame me, saying that if I hadn't been there in eight months, that meant my hair had grown 8 inches, and that she believes my hair must have been at shoulder length when I came last time. I mean, first, hair doesn't grow an inch a month; mine grows a normal half an inch per month. And I was with Lily for a haircut, at which she cut four inches, so my hair was back to the exact same length as my first haircut. This whole thing is so shockingly unprofessional. I really liked Lily, but now I'm afraid to come back here again in case I run into Anh-Xuan again. And I should have checked her reviews sooner, but I can see she has been overcharging people since at least 2025. I probably would have just avoided the salon and not bothered leaving this review, except Anh-Xuan's text messages were so unprofessional. Highly recommend Lily, and also confirming the price in writing before your appointment.
