Reviews are misleading. My apt was at 9 AM. I got here at 8:50 and was seen by like 9:05. There were only 3 or so families in front of me. My inspection went fast and there were no issues. I see all of these reviews about how they won't take your car if there is a grain of sand or anything at all. I took my car to the soapy joes down the street and cleaned it well enough an hour before to have zero issues. Just have a clean car. I didn't go super into detail, I got it as good as I could and it was clean! I had my daughter with me the the process was extremely fast and smooth. Maybe 30 minutes tops. All I needed was a valid ID other than my CAC and a copy of my registration. Was nice and clean and overall pleasant. read more

Paperwork is easy online but don't have a spec of hair in your 13 year old vehicle, and they don't tell you you can't have your seat covers until you get there. I watched the videos and their slide show ahead but no mention of seat covers and it says to get out stains not every spec of hair. Seemed like unhappy people thinking I'm using my car as a hair mule or something. It was pretty ridiculous. Took two hours, with our paperwork taking all of 2 minutes and trying to pick up hair one at a time to please the hair police the rest of the time. This is after I spent hours already prior to our appointment cleaning everything out as they said on their website. Absolutely a nightmare of the most ridiculous situation. If anyone can tell me what the few pieces of hair will harm up while it's being shipped, I'd love to know why my time was being waisted over a few pieces of suspicious hair from animals. If the Military wants to send us the cheapest and most ridiculous way ever, they have succeeded, I am already scared of what I'll find on the other side after this interaction but I am not confused by the horror stories I've heard from others now that we have also done it. Makes total sense why people leave their vehicles behind. If you have a new car and no children or pets to dirty it or scratch it, you'll be fine but for those who drive your vehicle and use it for things, good luck! read more

***TIP - Submit your paperwork online, after it is received, call in and double check that all of it is good to go. This will make the process there much easier. Coming here, I was shocked at the experience. My expectation was for it to be terrible and annoying. BUT, the people here are nice and generally cool. We submitted our documents online before hand, so when we got to it, the process for our vehicle was pretty smooth. Our car was good to go except we couldn't get a wash before our appt because several of the nearby washes were unexpectedly out of order. We drove hours to ship the vehicle, so we went to the appt and let them know. They checked everything out and let us know to go get a wash really quick and bring it back before a certain time. We did it and the process was smooth from there on out. I expected old grumpy people to crap on my day and complain about something small on my vehicle, but the staff was knowledgable and accommodating, and helped us to handle things. Our appointment was at 11 AM and we got here about 30 minutes early... There was probably three other people there waiting but within the hour we were out of there... The staff was respectful and nice they made us feel comfortable especially when we were talking about just making sure that the car was taken care of while it was being shipped. We are a military family moving overseas to Hawaii from California and honestly our experience with them was really good! Another thing that I really liked was that my husband forgot to print and fill out one of the papers that he missed and they actually printed it out for him and let him fill it out there which was a lifesaver because we didn't want to have to cancel our appointment and come back... Got the email on Tuesday that my car was ready to be picked up. I made an appointment that night to come in the next day at 0800. I was there at 0745 but they currently don't open until 8. The team let us know where we could wait alongside the outside of the building and upon entry we were able to wash hands and have a "socially distanced" seat. It was probably the fastest experience I have ever had pertaining to the military. I was in - gave them my papers and out the door with my car within less than a half and hour. This place requires you have an appt, but they don't go by it, when you sign in it's first come first serve. So if your appt is at 1pm and the guy that signs is 1 min before you and said guys appt is at 2pm, he gets to go first. A bunch a B.S. here at VPC. read more

Went to drop one of our vehicles off per what we were told to do, and the woman standing outside today had an awful attitude for no reason while we were asking questions. She magically had no answers for anything and mumbled stuff under her breath. When I requested to talk to someone other than her she got defensive and went inside. Every time I have to pcs in and out of San Diego she is in there with an attitude. Doesn't make me want to bring my vehicles here. read more

Horrible customer service! Picked up my SUV with a bent license plate and snapped license plate frame, and only offered me $10 to replace it! A replacement costs $50 with shipping. It turned out I wasn't the only one with damage to their vehicle. Very unprofessional establishment. read more

Terrible experience. VPC has appointment only booking to pick up car however will see people that do not have appointment if they just show up. I arrived at time of scheduled appointment and they just allowed whoever to be seen regardless of appointment making myself have to wait. How is this allowed to happen. It's seems more people have this issue. They need to learn to respect people's appointments and time or just go away from appointment based scheduling. Additionally they did not email or call me to let me know vehicle was available for pick up. read more

I realize this company is a governement contractor and probably handed in the lowest bid & it shows. We were early for our appointment, but they kept us in the hot sun (95 degrees) for 30 minutes (all of their paperwork stressed we need to be on time, yet they were 30 minutes late). Yes, they claimed COVID was the reason why we were waiting in the hot sun, but by now you would think the least they can do is provide Chairs so you don't have to sit on the Hot asphalt waiting on them. The very minimum their emails should adress this possiblity we could have to wait and be prepared to do so outside (bring sunscreen, water, etc). Lastly, I heard an employ just say, "...A Fuk&$ cry baby, man." Classy, real classy. Substandard Business An appointment doesn't matter here. Neither does your time. Understaffed. No sense of urgency. Been here an hour and a half and no end in sight. Woke up at 3am to make our 9 o'clock appointment to arrive at 9:15 and not be standing "in the line." 45 minutes passes and the women finally ask if we've been helped, said we weren't standing in the correct spot (it's not labeled anywhere FYI,) say we missed our appointment (I called and said we hit traffic and that was fine,) and then the women completely scoffed our appointment for their issues and said we'll be put on the standby list after they finish the 10 o'clock appointments (because 10 comes before 9 of course.) Everyone was super polite, greeted me, I was seen as soon as I signed in & did the joint inspection less than 10 minutes after. I was picking up my car and after noticing a decent amount of scratches that weren't there when I shipped from Hawaii I did what you normally do. I filled out the claim paper work. A short bearded gentleman said to me "do you have plans today? Because the more you write down the longer it's gonna take" in the rudest tone of voice. Uh dude it's your job and I only wrote down the 6 things that weren't on my car before I shipped it. When I ship my care I'm expecting that I will get it back in the same condition that I left it in.
