The Most Important Fact I Failed to Mention in my first post is that, "I NEVER RECEIVED A KEY FROM A1 STORAGE WHEN THEY CHANGED THE LOCKS IN NOVEMBER 2018 WHEN I MOVED IN, THEREFORE I HAD ZERO ACCESS TO MY STORAGE UNIT; ONLY THE EMPLOYEES OF A1 STORAGE DID. This is by far the worst storage place I have ever done business with!! I was given a price and by the next month it gone up 25 bucks. The place closes at 5 o'clock or 6 o'clock on the weekends. That's when everybody needs to move their stuff. Why have it so early then if you're late, you have to actually call to get out of the place cause you're stuck in the place yeah it's the most ridiculously run place ever highly recommend not using this place at all. The manager Crystal is rude as can be. She should be flipping burgers instead of communicating with people. read more

I'm writing this review on behalf of my uncle. He had a storage unit here for 7 months and the last few times he's gone his stuff has been ransacked. Boxes have been dumped over and the tape has been removed and out back on. You can definitely tell someone has been in there and he is the only one with a key. They've also increased the price 2 times without any notice. I wouldn't recommend this storage unit at all. read more

They raise their prices a lot every year, so you're stuck paying unless you move your stuff. The staff is so-so, not super friendly. It does have better security though since nine units were broken into a few years back. I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

Needed storage space for a couple months and A-1 delivered exactly as advertised. The manager Jessica was very professional and gracious! My unit was on the second level, right next to the stairs, which made loading and unloading relatively painless. Be aware that any lock type other than a cylinder lock won't work - bring your own or they can provide one. read more

We stored items there for almost five years. Just recently we traveled to San Diego to retrieve them. First things first. Phyllis, the manager, and Patrick, an employee, were great. We have no issues with them. Secondly, we have no issues with the unit itself. Our issues stem with exorbitant rent costs, which increased almost $30 in the time we were there, from $65 to almost $95. Ridiculous and, in our opinion, borderline criminal. We investigated and found that the owner was about to give us another increase to almost $119 had we stayed another month--on a five-by-eleven unit! What's worse is that he has apparently begun employing a computer program to randomly charge customers, and then randomly increase their rents. When computers run the show and human beings are factored out, then what you've got is truly faceless and, in the end, evil. We assume the corporation itself employs this program everywhere now too. So to the owner we say this: May your greed destroy you. To the corporation we say this: May your greed destroy you. To Phyllis and Patrick we say this: May the greed of those who employ you not destroy you but empower and enrich you. So be it. Take our advice, folks. Avoid A1 Storage at all costs. They just aren't worth it. read more

The management is waaay too nice (not a bad thing), awesome service, awesome ppl, competitive prices. That's what I've come to expect from this A1, is A+! Before renting my very large unit, I shopped around for months, couldn't find anything even close to what their main st location had to offer, & at their price. It was the cheapest around. Spotless units, You will work with Patrick and Phyllis both of which couldn't be better and they are sure to get you the best bang for your buck. Patrick will go above and beyond no matter what. One time, a tweeker came in screaming and yelling that her locks were changed and she tried to fight one of the employees... The entire time A1 was super nice and courteous and extremely patient even with the crazy meth addict; i personally would have knocked her last few black teeth out but the staff was being super cool about it, just as they always are. Long-story short, Her locks weren't changed... she was trying to open the wrong door. read more
