We were not expecting much, but we're delighted with our visit and definitely will return. It's close to home, which is what led us here in the first place. We loved the ambiance, inside and out, which was perfect for a date night. Our server was excellent! I can't remember his name, but he said he didn't usually work on Wednesdays. I wish I could remember him; he was really fantastic. He made many suggestions and was a very entertaining and knowledgeable server; he seemed passionate about working there. We had the seafood fettuccini, and I had the chicken spaghetti. Our food was delicious. Our food was mediocre. The restaurant is dark and very well airconditioned. However the real problem was our waitress. We all found it odd that a restaurant specializing in Italian cuisine had a waitress that repeatedly mispronounced several of the Italian ingredients listed on the menu. She also assumed my guests had dietary restrictions that were never mentioned, which made ordering the unnecessarily confusing. When ordering my entree, I asked if I could substitute one of the pasta shapes that appeared to be offered with other menu items, only to be told they didn't have it. That response was confusing since it was clearly listed elsewhere on the menu. When ordering salad that comes with the entree, I declined the toppings she mentioned which were cheese, onion, and tomato. I declined the toppings because I assumed it would still come with the standard ingredients like croutons and cucumbers. Instead, I ended up with what was essentially a tiny handful of lettuce. I had also requested the dressing on the side but it arrived already dressed. To make matters worse, our waitress had also checked on our table so frequently that it became difficult to have a normal conversation. While I appreciate attentive service, the constant interruptions felt excessive and intrusive rather than helpful. read more

It's a parent there is a lot of cost cutting with the food. For example, shrimp pasta had so little shrimp that my friend had two full scoops of this pasta and did not realize there was shrimp in there until I got some later and my plate had 1 in it. Almost all eggs Benedict were hard. Scrambled Eggs tasted like the powdered eggs at a cheap hotel. One of the plates we got had a squished eggs Benedict caked on the bottom that apparently did not come off during the dishwashing process. The only positive is the ambience and friendly staff. Perhaps ordering à la cart for dinner is a better food quality to enhance the dining experience, but we were not impressed during brunch. read more

We ordered the combination plate appetizer, which combined Toasted provolone, toasted beef ravioli, bruschetta and garlic arrosto... it says it's for two or more people, but I definitely think two would be the maximum. Everything on there was very good. Having not been here before I wasn't sure what to order or what their specialties were, but the server made some recommendations and I went with the posture, Trio, Italiano. It combines their white sauce on some fettuccine as well as red sauce on manicotti and spaghetti. I particularly loved having both sauces because I like to mix them together. The flavors were wonderful. Surprisingly you get a complementary piece of their cake at the end of your meal. It was delicious and not too heavy. Attended the Sunday Champagne Brunch today. Great service and not too busy today. Yay! The place is beautiful! I did easily make a reservation (recommend). The buffet comes with fruit juice variety, champagne, or mimosas, mixed and matched as you like. You also get the food on the buffet, a small fruit plate per person, and a variety of meats that are brought to your table. Dessert was rum cake and/or pecan pie. Well worth the price for the amount of food you receive. My favorite highlights were the Eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, tortellini pasta with shrimp, the meats, and the juice varieties. The women in our neighborhood booked a large table for our once a month luncheon. It could have been a better set up, in my opinion. We were packed shoulder to shoulder and no room to move once seated. Nearly everyone in the group opted for the lunch buffet. They all seemed pleased with their choice. I chose the Cannelloni Florentine which I've never seen on a menu - - and I love Italian food. It did NOT disappoint. Veal, spinach stuffed cannelloni with an amazing sauce. Fresh ground Parmesan was the cherry on the top, so to speak. The bread served was exceedingly MEH. This is a favorite of "the locals" and I can see why. Quality food served in a lovely environment. It was hella packed and this place smells old and looks like it too, it's dark and kinda like Italian place you would see in the movies. I love the juice options and mimosa here. I wish had the buffet got more options, but it felt short. It had some of the major items like eggs, bacon, sausage, a pasta dish, fish, broccoli, and egg benedicts. Most of it was either salty or unseasoned. It's not bad if you live near the area and want to eat. It's like $28 a person for the buffet. I like the shrimp tortellini, teriyaki salmon and the breakfast potatoes. Egg benedicts was cold and yuck. Scramble egg was good. I wouldn't suggest to eat the roast beef, brunt ends, or ham when they give you on a plate on the table, it tasted weird, hard to chew, and too fatty. Haven't ate here in years. This used to be a family favorite. Everything still looks the same on the inside, still the Old Italian restaurant that makes you warm and fuzzy. Our waiter, Sean, was nice enough, but one of the worst waiters I've ever experienced. He forgot us so many times throughout the meal, starting with the drinks all the way to the end with dessert. At that point, we were all done with this experience. Sadly, probably won't be returning here. The food was meh at best. read more

I rarely give a five star review. Mama V's definitely earned it. They seated twelve of us with no problem. The service was on spot and the food even better. We ordered appetizers and I have to say, the Calamari was the best I've ever had. The entrees were amazing, they had a good wine list and the desserts were spectacular. The salmon was over cooked and also tough to chew. Service: We had a 6pm reservation and we're seated promptly. Our waitress was SO sweet and attentive -- she even gave us free rum cake to go (very delicious). However, the hosts (pictured by the entrance) never came by to check on us. We heard them check on the tables surrounding us, but they never acknowledged us. Ambiance: Dim lighting made for a romantic atmosphere. Unfortunately, since the old owners passed it on to their son the food has gone way down hill. The brunch was our favorite but slowly they have gotten rid of the pasta station, the carving station and the dessert table. It is mostly a disappointment these days.
